So, how is GW going to deal with this in regards to advancing the plot? I suspect Ultramar Round 2 is out f the question, so what will GW's writers do now?
Fun question: if of /yourdudes/ participated in the campaign, what shenanigans did they get into?
Carson Williams
As an outsider looking in, how much does the narrative change depending on who wins the most battles, and what faction is playing them? The Eldar are mentioned in this write-up, am I to assume this means the most common alien faction was Eldar, and they mostly fought Chaos with a little Imperium? Would the narrative have changed if the most common alien faction was, say, Necron?
Henry Myers
>So, how is GW going to deal with this in regards to advancing the plot? They announce the system that barely anyone had heard of before, safely and securely fades back into obscurity.
Hunter Stewart
Campaign Starts >Majority of your player base is Imperium >Space Marine & Grey Knight Codex released >Primaris Marines released (which can be taken in any army) >Double points for buying new models >All new models are Imperium >Last day addition to Chaos is Death Guard (Fuck me for playing Iron Warriors right?)
How is GW going to deal with this in regards to advancing the plot?
Looks like just as planned to me.
Nathaniel Sanders
If it was just as planned, they wouldn't have had to manipulate some numbers for chaos wins
Kayden Robinson
That deck was stacked
Brandon Perez
Thats part of why they had to manipulate the numbers for chaos wins, if Imperium had gotten the shutout in round round three, engagement would have dropped because why spend a few more weeks playing a campaign you have no hope of winning?
Elijah Reyes
They wanted a bitter, hard fought Imperium victory not a total shutout. A shutout would have hurt the non-imperium player base.
Eli Ortiz
How do we make Chaos more attractive to the pre-teens and manchildren that flock to play Space Marines?
Hunter Carter
Carnac hardest hit.
Mason White
For somebody who hasn't been following the campaign at all, what did they manipulate?
Dylan Hernandez
At least one of the planets initially showed Imperial victory (with the icon, description and everything) until GW came out and said "actually, victory points were supposed to be calculated THIS way" and they changed it to a Chaos victory.
Julian Garcia
Funny thing is that Chaos would have easily won the last round. GW have been reallocating Imp wins from the previous round to the current one to shore up their momentum. Can't say I 'm complaining though, being a Custodes player and all.
Lucas Richardson
>hurt the non-imperium player base Considering how many xenos characters were working against Chaos, I'm not sure how true that is.
Ian Rodriguez
It was he Horus Heresy novels that brought me to chaos. Loyalists are insufferable dicks.
Jackson Jenkins

Once puberty hits, all those pre-teens will taste the edge and flock to Chaos naturally.

The first planets were aggregated score from the 3 regions Chaos won planet 4 due to plague releases but obviously they messed up the timings in releasing them too late So planet 5 they were losing aggregate and this showed on the main map but were slightly ahead in 1 zone and draw in another. The automatic ending script put is imperial win with imperial win fluff in the zones Then suddenly the fluff changed to chaos win People complained and Facebook statement was that wins are based on regions won (bollocks since the main display was always clearly aggregate not simple Thirds) Then with this final week they started as zones won but uk and eu were pretty solid imperial with only USA chaos (and they gave the USA zone special fluff so they could turn a USA win for chaos into meaning the other zones didn't count) So they quietly switched back to aggregate and kept going beyond the time limit But since USA chaos players tend to be Trumpcunts living in Texas and Florida they failed
Jackson Reyes
>But since USA chaos players tend to be Trumpcunts living in Texas and Florida they failed It's more than just that. At my local GW store the Xenos (read: 95% Orks) came in 2nd in terms of total victory points gained after the Imperium, and before Chaos. The Ork players were divided, some were anti-Imperium (one Ork guy was pulling the weight for two of Chaos' victories in the store for 4 weeks before he stopped caring because regular Chaos players couldn't get their shit together), others were firmly anti-Chaos, and I played took points from both sides like a proppa' Freeboota git. It feels like Chaos forgot that the Loebos section lasted more than one week, and it cost them big time.
It wasn't just Texas and Florida that were being hit by Mother Nature, by the by. the Pacific Northwest/Montana has had rampant forest fires for the last couple months.
Logan Wilson
Considering they've been teasing the release of a new Primarch recently (not Morty, another one), I'd assume the next step in the plot will be Rowboat taking the fight to the Death Guard's little foothold in the Ultramar region to kill him/push him out of Ultramar for good.
That or they're going to finally tell us that the Lion was secretly a traitor all along, but he's just been too much of a coward to come out and admit it for the last 10,000 years.
Andrew Ortiz
American chaos players seem to love losing so they can whine about things being fixed
Brayden Garcia
>American chaos players seem to love losing so they can whine about things being fixed Given how GW screwed over Chaos by ending the Eye of Terror campaign two weeks ahead of schedule and declaring a stalemate back in the day (a campaign they were winning handily at the time), can you blame Chaos players for being so salty about this sort of thing? GW already burned the old guard of Chaos players once with company interference in a player-driven campaign, so their cynicism toward this campaign (especially since the Death Guard just got their codex AFTER Konor ends) is justifiable.
t. Ork Freeboota since back in 3e.
Oliver Edwards
Suck a moldy dick you chaos faggots!
Easton Cooper
This is pretty fair, I mean, just how many Xenos factions even have reason to give their wins to Chaos, unless maybe directly fighting Imperials (and even then)? Eldar(and their alternatives)? They fucking hate Chaos. Necrons? They don't brook with Chaos. T'au? It's a stretch to side them with Chaos Nids? Could go either way. Orkz? As above. So Chaos are pretty much in it by themselves.
Dylan Peterson
That's the problem with being omnicidal maniacs with no appeal
Isaac Lopez
Well they've drank the Chaos kool-aid for 10/11k years so they're shadows of their former selves.

Mason Flores
Well for one, maybe actually release something besides Space Marines and only Space Marines for starters
Kayden Russell
Last game of the campaign

I honestly felt bad for the kid playing orks. He was tabled on the second turn from a 15 death company and lemartes list
Anthony Moore
Add hormones to the water so boys hit puberty and become edgy faster
Thomas Edwards
They would definitely play Tau. The whole progressive mindset is based on bashing your own group and declaring some other group superior. In other words, doing the opposite of what bigots do in order to claim complete superiority. Seriously, you see it at every level: Contempt for their own country (especially colonies like the US, Canada, and Australia), for white people (especially among whites, for whom white guilt has advanced to the point of suicidal thoughts), for men (especially among progressive men), for the West, and for humanity in general. It's so fashionable and trendy it's actually sickening.
James Bailey
>Abaddon and the Bringers of Despair took part for a single engagement as part of a deal with Mortarian to keep his support in other theaters of war. >It consisted of a brutal invasion that ravaged most of Lobeos. >Along the way Abaddon was able to procure many relics but eventually attracted the attention of the Grey Knights and was driven off.
Joseph Morris
Xenos players don't count. GW's made it clear that their kind ain't welcome around these here parts.
Lucas Cooper
>So, how is GW going to deal with this in regards to advancing the plot? Well if ADB or Laurie is writing it (though I think Laurie's already left for now), then we're soon going to find out that Chaos was only trying to pretend to win the Konor sector, but that they've actually succeeded in completing some super secret never before mentioned objective that means that Chaos actually overwhelmingly won even though it looks like they lost.
Robert Davis
Ha! Take that, Imperial dogs!
Ayden Edwards
>studio and finance side force imperial narrative nonstop by releasing only space marine Imperials >as a result of things being hilariously one sided, black library authors compensate by skewing to the complete opposite
BL wouldn't be so bad if the Imperium were reighned in every once and a while
Nicholas Jackson
It's hard, because Chaos is pretty much designed to be villains where most of them are driven by bitterness or greed. It's not a attractive faction for most players. I mean, we have some warbands/legions with better ideas, but in general they're just a edgy faction
Josiah Russell
No, ADB has massive daddy issues and hates the Emperor because his pa didn't love him so obviously no father can. Chaos would be wanked even harder if GW didn't demand more Marines.
What needs to happen is it takes a back seat for a while as it reels from its losses and other foes step forward.
Juan Sullivan
>Laurie leaves >Novels get better almost overnight >The GOAT 40k writer returns with one of the 40k best series of all time

Are you really trying to say that the traitor Primarchs hating the emperor as a shitty dad is bad? It's believable as shit and the scenario has happened hundreds of times in human history
Connor Robinson
Fuck off Chaos, you're just bitter you lost.
Jaxson Ortiz
It is bad because they were all of them fully grown men before the emperor found them, and on top of that they're demigod superhumans who should be above and beyond such petty nonsense.
Kevin Murphy
I'm trying to say "Chaos is all-powerful and unaffected by anything and automatically wins forever because reasons" is stupid, as is "the Emperor never cared about anyone he's evil but Horus also Abaddon is the bestest and highest chosen of the gods but also a totally self-made man with a daemon sword more powerful than the Emperor that doesn't just immediately eat his soul because he's *that* good".
Benjamin Anderson
>Are you really trying to say that the traitor Primarchs hating the emperor as a shitty dad is bad? Yes, Aaron, it's bad because it gets boring really fast. These guys hate dad so much they ruined their lives and got space magic AIDS just to exclaim 'Take that daddy!'. It's pathetic and pitiful.
Connor Foster
>They were fully grown men You don't suddenly become experienced and wise when you get older user. The majority of people on the earth make childish decisions. Being fully grown doesn't have anything to do with it.
Blake Thomas
Don't forget the whole. "Chaos guys are just misunderstood! They really do feel bad about murdering billions of innocent people and condemning their souls to eternal torment but the big bad ol' emperor is the REAL bad guy!"
Nicholas Young
You do if you want to become the leader of a planet. Which most of them did.
William Johnson
>TFW the baby-eating space terrorist who routinely tortures people to death for the lulz complains the Emperor is evil and he must fight him
William Evans
Most traitor primarchs never really wanted to be chaos slaves. Angron became a DP through Lorgar "magic", Magnus was tricked by Tzeentch, Mortarion was to weak to resist Nurgle's "gifts", Fulgrim was corrupted by his sword. Curze hated Chaos and Alpharius thought he was on the right side. I think that only Horus can be really counted as having daddy issues, and Lorgar the only one that took chaos to the heart
Jordan Cox
CHAOSFAGS ON SUICIDE WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATCHHH

Noah Jones
Jaghatai Khan disliked the Emperor on a personal level, and his best friends were Horus and Magnus. He just didn't care about his personal opinions because he felt that the Emperor's goal of elevating humanity was much more important than his feelings about his supposed family.
This is because Jaghatai is an adult.
Daniel Howard

Do this campaign, guys! You get points for painting new things! Btw, here is a constant stream of releases for all you space Marine players and t- what? No shut up chaos players. And here's a new Codex for your Marines an- christ, shut up death guard. Anyway, here's the the chaos Codex, but wait here the grey knights Codex with a bunch of new stuff for you grey knights players you can convert! God. No you still don't have anything new, chaos shut the fuck up already. Anyways, here's another Marine release. Oh damn. Looks like imperials won the campaign. Oh well. Here's Deathguard Codex with a single kit release, but don't worry imperials, we have another Marines release, too.
Wew
Aaron Cruz
You see, this line of thought would make sense if GW didn't literally change he results of week five and also added a caveat to week six that would let chaos win the whole damn campaign wit ONE territory controlled
Juan Bailey
Anything that makes Chaosfags cry makes my day.
Jacob Thomas
How anyone can say Chaos got BTFO is beyond me. This wasn't even a remotely fair campaign
Jordan Long
Hmmm delicious faggy chaos tears. I hope you never get another campaign so we don't have to deal with your bullshit crying.
Samuel Davis
Yeah. Especially week five where GW changed a chaos win to imperium and set up week six so that the imperium only had to win in their strongest region to win the entire campaign Oh wait
Blake Morgan
they were doing that as a scrambling panic because they stupidly didn't realize how horribly they fucked it up, so they tried to add tension only to make it even more botched
Luis Cooper
If GW makes another campaign, I hope they keep chaos players out of it. Bunch of whiners and cry babies;

I feel like the idea of a united humanity appeals to liberals myself included. DESU chaos works better as freedom fighters than generic we sold our souls to demons so we are ebil bad guys.

ITS NOT FAIR! Imperium always fucking wins EVERYTHING and chaos losses everything. Thanks for nothing you xenofags.
Connor Rogers

>Imperiumfags in this very thread are proud of their victory Jesus Christ way to prove you're dickheads, that's like being proud of winning a boxing match in a 2v1 fashion while the crowd is blind and the ref is your best friend who you owe money to. I'm not mad my team lost I predicted that as soon as it became obvious it was fixed back in week 2 and even when Chaos won those two planets and GW announced "last planet wins the system" I knew it was going to be an Imperium win. I'm just disgusted by how proud you stupid fuckers are, how many Primaris marines did you idiots buy?
William Morgan
I have to help the Orks, I like the Eldar aesthetically but their souls belong to Slaanesh.
Henry Johnson
>I'm not mad my team lost
Brody Rodriguez
My lot managed to play every week, almost always Imperium vs Chaos (with the occasional ork interlopers). Chaos was getting pasted early on until I got some more stuff painted and the presence of options helped make games more even.
My dudes were Crimson Slaughter contributing to Morty's plans, while some relatively generic guard regiment took horrific casualties in pretty much every engagement but often managed to hold the line, with or without occasional space marine aid (a smattering of BTs, Crimson Fists and Dark Angels).
Orks regularly got wiped out with the exception of a counts-as Ghazkull, who tore everything apart and went down a total of one time, even then that was a contentious cocked dice incident involving a melta gun.
Another friend brought his Ad Mech and Knight over occasionally and generally had a good showing. Phosor laden Kastelans are mean as fuck, and forced Chaos to hide out of LoS. They were on the defensive that mission, however, so the Mechanicus had to get stuck in at close range.
Overall I really enjoyed it, and it gave me additional impetus to get stuff painted up. I do wish that the resulting fluff was more granular, rather than each planet being a total win/loss regardless of the exact balance of power and how each region turned out.
Kayden Torres
>tfw Chaos was devoured by Nids at my LGS, allowing the Imperium to win quite handily

Get with the lore, son.
Jonathan Wilson
Well I'm not, that'd be like rolling a dice and being mad it didn't get a six, or being upset when you get an average number of shots hit when you shoot. You don't get upset because the result is expected. I'm just disgusted by how proud Imperiumfags are of winning a rigged game.
