I am genuinely surprised this has lasted as long as it has. Where RWBY isn't average it's actively mediocre. The whole selling point of the show seems to be waifus but the show designs aren't great either, that seems to be the community's doing.

Having recently watched the whole thing, 'actively mediocre' is fair. Ita survived this long because its backed by RoosterTeeth, its got a short average runtime of 11 minutes, it hits the waifu buttons with 4 female leads, and people are idiots.
It has some interesting potential, but always squanders it.

I thought rwby was alright, at least the 2 seasons or so I've watched so far. Why all the hate here? Did they have an episode where they say D&D is good or something?
Anyway, I would give a board game of it a shot. Any word on what the mechanics and thematics of it actually are?

We're on an image board based on a Japanese site and run by a Japanese man. Hating anything that takes inspiration or influence from something Japanese is hip here. All the better if that anything has some objective quality issues you can project your hate onto.
