So me and my friends are pretty big fans of this movie called Unico. I thought it would be pretty fun to play a Unico setting but I need some help with setting the game up. Would really appreciate some help.
Almost any system will work. But I would rather not run it in Pathfinder or 5e as were no big fans of the system

What exactly are you looking for from this system? Is there a reason you can't run it in RISUS or something?
I fucking love Unico, OP. Pretty sure I saw it when it was only a couple of years old. The setting is low-grade nightmare fuel, especially the castle made of people.

How about players being pilgrims searching for Unico? No one have seen Unico for several month and PCs unite in order to find him. Every PC will have a moment in backstory, where they were helped by Unico, which will serve as a fuel for their motivation.
I feel that including Unico directly will pretty much move all spotlight to him, plus being pilgrims will give a reason to travel to various distant locations.
And as for setting itself, just let players to explore surrealistic places with fairytale vibe. In the beginning locations will be dark and grim, but as players work, they will bring the light to them.
Plus sadness when Unico doesn't remember them

But Unico is actually pretty awesome. He is basically cute version of Jesus in form of little unicorn, who defeats his enemies using power of Love and Friendship sometimes even killing them in process.
As much as Unico seems childish, it gets dark pretty often. For example there is implied attempt to drug and rape underage girl, castle build of petrified living creatures, proud and envious gods willing to kill anyone who outshines them, etc.
Unico aint about teamwork, it's about horrific surreal nightmares
