What is the best vehicle in WH40k and why is it the DreadKnight? Please provide a reason such as:
>A DreadKnight was created so GreyKnights can battle Daemons.
>DreadKnight is best because its HUGE
>Makes a GreyKnight Stronger due to ExoSkeletal adamantium pistons.
>A DreadKnight contains a GreyKnight its like 2 for the price of one.
>A tank can not be posed so their pathetic, a DreadKnight has unlimited posable options.
>Noone knows how a DreadKnight works or where it came from to know who made it because its shrouded in secrecy from the GreyKnights who dont even know its true origins because of ultra secret its technology is.
>DreadKnights are so powerful they can be used in formation with other DreadKnights making them an unstoppable force that nothing can stop.

Dreadknight is not a vehicle, it never was.

Technically a DreadKnight is a vehicle where the occupant is the operator much like any tank or common speed bike only this is a DreadKnight the most impressive vehicle in the WH40k universe rendering all other vehicles not only inferior by their very design but utterly useless in their capability.

Best baby carrier is the one you don't need to training for, just nail the operator on and minimal repairs between pilots.

>inb4 specialist wankery, psykers, and costly teleportation.

DreadKnight superfan reporting in!!!

The Grey Knight inside a DreadKnight can wear Terminator armor, making the DreadKnight Armor like putting Terminator armor on a Terminator, its virtually impossible to stop a DreadKnight since they are designed to battle Daemons for the Grey Knights.

This is one of the few entries into the WH40k which really steps up the game of what GW is bringing to the table lately as fan service. Having a DreadKnight Squad can almost guarantee any fan of the table top game a decisive victory.

>pic related
Notice how even wearing Terminator Armor the DreadKnight can be used thus practically doubling the defensive benefits of the GreyKnights.

We have a guy try that in my meta. We shut him down pretty quick.

They suck in objective games, and suck against hordes too. The increasing ease of mortal wounds means another blow against them.

Culexus assassins make them look like a bitch, and chaos can remove an invul. save.

Pretty, but meh as well.

Still doesnt nullify the fact which is clear that they are the best vehicle in WH40k since its essentially a terminator inside another terminator.

Or just just stick to terminators, in Landraiders, in CASSIUS ASSAULT RAMS, in Strikecraft.

Then set a course for ramming speed.

I'm gonna counter with, of all things, the humble Taurox Prime:

>Is very cost effective
>BS 4 with 28 shots for anti-infantry
>spammable str 7 ap -1 shots that threaten most things
>Boxed shape is simple for transport
>can contain some the best shooty infantry known to the Imperium
>very mobile transport
>spammable

Sure, you don't get a terminator inside of a another terminator, but you DO get a damn fine vehicle that can do a lot of things really well.

underrated!

Go to bed, Jerry

>high center of gravity likely means toppling over is not uncommon
>2 sets of tracks per side means double the cost, double the noise, double the maintenance, half the weight displacement, half the engine power efficiency
>tracks are narrow, would likely sink in soft ground, would also drastically limit speed
>turret is manned, restricts driving compartment space and visibility
>exhausts mounted vertically upwards would signal the position every time the engine is revved
>no visible snorkel meaning fjording water deeper than the engine air intake is impossible
>unnecessary sloping at the rear limits interior space
>low ground clearance, small rocks/low walls etc would be a big problem
>hull guns only aimed by wiggling left/right by the driver, imprecise to the point of uselessness, fucks with the main turret

It's crew would likely despise this vehicle. Oh well, that's sperg levels of detail that don't matter. It's decent in game and looks ok, looks 100 x better with wheels.

God, moving past Rogue Trader was a fucking mistake.

Obiwan Sherlock Clousseau pls go

Center of gravity is even higher now though.

Are you implying that an intentionally silly character used to demonstrate the basics of the Inquisitor archetype when the setting was fun is worse than an unintentionally retarded design of modern childishly taking itself too seriously 40k

Is it possible to place a Space Marine in Centurion Armor than place the Centurion in a Dreadknight?

If the Dreadknight is destroyed, can the unit continue as a Centurion?

If the Centurion is destroyed, can the unit then continue as a normal space marine?

some of those problems, height and balance, exist in the MRAP, and they are not considered deal breakers for the armor they provide, so it stands to reason that the height is an acceptable trade off for the fire power it brings

the manned turret is probably caused due to them simply cutting a hole through the taurox rather than making a new design, and given that most vietnam-era vehicles and even the M2 bradley, or other guard vehicles like the chimera have a gunner in the turret, its not exactly a unique problem, at least until someone makes a space-stryker with a remote turret

hull guns are dumb though

>tfw like low vehicles
>everything that's not a supercar is tall as shit

you would think with the russia-wankery the IG have, they would have a space T-55

really friggin low, with extra armor and speed, at the cost of having less hullpoints and really low firing rate

Spider Tank is best vehicle.
Cheap as hell, tough, can't be slowed down by rough terrain and a very stable firing platform for big guns. Can overlap shields with other Dunecrawlers to form a defensive phalanx and has superb anti-big stuff lasers that make Tau Railguns cry in a corner. Has self-repair capabilities, a communications array for nearby troops to use and proximity warnings in case of ambush. Does everything, really.

...

The Dreadknight is an ork vehicle that got released under GK by mistake

You mean DA DEFFKNOIGHT

>would likely sink in soft ground
>low ground clearance
It has anti-grav plates mounted under the hull, which are why the prime variant used to have built-in terrain re-rolls. Also I believe it has two engines, which would explain the paired exhausts (similar to the rhino's four engines).

not that it makes any more sense

i think even narrow tracks are better than wheels for ground pressure
this is probably the vehicle they had in mind when they put tracks on it

>this is what Veeky Forums likes now
God have mercy on us

>Griffon was created by god because he doesn't like you.

>Griffon is the best because it ets fggits!

>Makes teh emperor stronger becahz eh is teh best but need teh beh butter.

>Eh stem tank can't be posed because it is pathetic, a griffon had unlimited posable options.

>Noone knows how a Griffon works or where it came from to know who made it because its shrouded in secrecy from the Knights who don't even know its true origins because of ultra secret its breeding is.

>Griffons are so powerful they can be used in formation with other Griffons making them an unstoppable force that nothing can stop.

>Unstoppable force that nothing can stop.
Made me chuckle there, user.

Is it just me, or would this thing look pretty good with less retarded exhaust (and different header configuration, nobody likes V6) and converted into a half-track?

IIs there any place that I can get a quick reference to all the units abilities? It sucks having to bookmark all these books.
Help me, Veeky Forums!

Sorry, but with the release of DG, the blight-hauler is the best vehicle.
>Brings speed to a slow army
>Powerful and versatile weapon platform
>Very durable
>Comes is squads of 3 and get a bonus for working together
>Assists our chunky boys and zombies by providing cover saves.
>FUCKING ADORABLE
It's the little daemon engine that *can* and *will*

Knock knock,
best Armour and weapons

I hate like 90% of the shit GW is putting out these days but that's a lovely little model.

>Dreaming about relationship between Dreadknight and his pilot like in Titanfall 2.

That's rather hard to do now that universal rules are kinda out the window. For example, Death Guard have what's essentially Feel No Pain from older editions, but it's exclusively called "Disgustingly Resilient" in the codex. Every codex can have different names for the same rules or abilities.

>best weapons
Laughing_ork_sluts.glyff
shame it's been nerfed into he ground

Also I forgot
>Explodes on death on 4+, a noble sacrifice for you to soften up the enemy further.

Its a big babycarrier

I honestly like a dead-serious setting better than one that's stupid. To be, 40K is best when it's pitch-black and grimly gothic, like in the works of ADB, Dan Abnett, Simon Spurrier and the few other good writers. (I like Abnett best, myself.)

I'm actually happy all the silly stuff has been excised, and I'd prefer to pretend that they never happened.

...I'd argue that they don't really do 'Gothic' well. Matthew Farrer and James Swallow actually do the super religious and gothic side of 40k well.

>tiger surprises giant eagle by sticking his head up its arse

i really do prefer the "manly man testosteron hair metal" feel, and would like some of the more ridiculous stuff back

yeah, thats been fucking my ass relentlessly for a while now.

>Dreadknight is not a vehicle, it never was.
In 8e it has the VEHICLE tag

How's high-school treating you

Your ass gonna be really sore this whole edition, cause I foresee every codex doing this for old USR like fleet and rending, nevermind FnP.

All that armor, but the head is still exposed.

>I like 40k best when it's shit

That element is whats missing from nuhammer nowadays. The gothic aesthetic and the religious aspect made it more interesting than just generic armoured supersoldier spessmen in spess.
its

>yfw even the Imperium recognizes the superiority of the V6 over any other engine

Lighter than your shitty v8s and can be boosted to outputs far and beyond your shitty N/A engine's levels!

Checkmate, faggot.

calling a dreadknight a vehicle is like calling the news a tv show
you're not wrong in believing it is, yet you're kinda missing the point

So antigrav tech is now so widespread that the can even afford guard get some? What the fuck?

Shadowsword looks better.

GW is getting really boring and kinda hmmm generic just being space guys now and losing the religious aspect.

kinda boring, hope they return to the grimdark gothic feel
