Mara Jade is still a Mary Sue though. You can have five centuries of character buildup, but a Mary Sue is still a Mary Sue.

>>top of her class at emperor palpatine memorial assassin school Still failed to kill anyone we cared about. >>can beat up luke because don't need no man She thinks she can and Luke isn't sure, but she still failed to kill him. >>mysterious badass with dark and edgy past meaning she's automatically interesting and well-written It's deconstructed thoroughly in the Thrawn Trilogy. Her entire life up to that point is an inversion of Luke's. An elite assassin groomed from youth to be a dangerous killer ends up reduced to a miserable, lonely life of petty crime as the mere subordinate of a mob boss. Meanwhile, the humble farm boy from a worthless desert rock has risen to become a beloved war hero surrounded by friends, family, and admirers. Mara's life only really starts looking up when she starts warming up to Luke. In a friendly and non-romantic way because there's no way she'd find that farm boy cute, baka. >>wears skimpy hot topic clothes ala my immortal Only according to the artists. If you look at Zahn's descriptions of her clothes, she prefers to wear sensible clothing that can work in a fight. The exception would probably be her stint in Jabba's Palace because of obvious reasons.
Tholothians, Thisspassians and hinted at having Vurks as the third race. Alchemist, Magus, or Prophet added.

Are you new to the game? I can give you some explanation on those ships and how they fly effectively if you want.
Lincoln Parker
Am I remembering wrong or did the hilarious, over the top Prophets of the Dark Side from those kids books get retconned into incestuous gang rapists at some point?
Nathaniel Morris
So who plays the TCG? Been playing eLuke/Rey since the beginning, trying to adjust for the new meta these days. Anyone brewing?
Jack Price
Yeah in this super edgy article about Sariss's backstory
It's a little too fucked up if you asked me. It really stands out as something that clashes with the rest of Star Wars media (not to say sexual stuff never happens, but still), even Legends (which it is)
Blake Morris
Jesus, that brings back bad memories of those incredibly edgy Doctor Who books that got written after the original was cancelled and that had original series characters being molested as children and the doctor doing crack cocaine.

Have they introduced a ship-building system for this RPG yet? My favorite thing with the old WoTC system was to put the party in a position where they could command -- and occasionally design -- their own fighters and capital warships. Miniature Cold Wars on the Rim, noble houses going at it while the Republic was busy elsewhere, etc. Have they..?
Cooper Jenkins
So /swg/ in your honest opinion what event(s) would have to happen, or happen differently, to create a situation as disjointed as what is presented in the computer game Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds?
what with having factions like the Empire and Rebellion sure, but also the Trade Federation, Naboo, Gungans, Wookies, CIS, and the Army of the Republic all vying for control of the galaxy (or at least some portion of it)?
Colton Howard
I don't think they have introduced any sort of vehicle crafting rules.
Luis Allen
Soon, (before the end of the year) in the engineer sourcebook "Fully Operational".

Thank you.

This sounds like the only way I would enjoy that fucking franchise.Who fucking sucks and over here it's almost sacrilege to say so.

The campaigns are pretty straight, and not linked to each others or weird, IIRC. Or do you mean like when you roll up a dumb random skirmish...? Clearly it's VR training.

>trying to adjust for the new meta Same here. My go to deck for the last two sets has been eQui-Gon/eRey, but I'm afraid it'll underperform in the new meta (especially against Thrawn/Unkar, that deck looks filthy as fuck), which sucks, because I won Regionals with eQJ/eRey and was planning to take it to Nationals in three weeks. Looks like I'll be making some last minute changes.
I coined this build recently on swdestinydb and it got some love (and some critique) but this Support heavy meta has me bamboozled. After nationals, I might take a knee and wait for the next set before I get back into the competitive scene.

IIRC, that's not even Boba, IG-88 or Bossk, so it's more like Zuckuss and 4-LOM hanging out with some losers.
Logan Garcia
Turns out it's none of them.
>The small Gand who looks like Zuckuss is Vytor Shrike. >The IG-Series droid is IG-72, rather than one of the IG-88 assassin droids (In fact, at this point, only one IG-88 was known). >The man in Mandalorian armor was Jodo Kast, who has impersonated Boba Fett in the past. >The Trandoshan standing in for Bossk is Jungen. >The protocol droid 4-LOM does not have any clear analogue in the story. However, other Human characters such as Zardra and Quist cover what could have been its role.
This reminds me of that one Lord of the Rings game where you play as the Not-Fellowship (which is comprised of analogues to the main characters) who are following the real Fellowship.
Luke Gray
The piece is concept art for ESB, that got repurposed by WEG or Game Journal or something to represent a couple of other bounty I think Jodo Kast is the one in the Mando armor
Lucas Watson
Just throw some credits on the side and run away while they fight over the chip.
jfc why? Though on LotR, if you're talking about the one that plays like a JRPG, I read it fit itself real well into the lore and that the characters developed and weren't just a not-Fellowship forever. Never played it though I'd love to. Just can't stand JRPG mechanics anymore.
Juan Howard
>jfc why? so they could get killed by PCs without forcing the GM to adjust for the deaths of characters who do actual things in canon

I use the scripted dice rollers and character sheets. They can be a little wonky at times but that's normal for TTS. Overall they work just fine.

RTD's foray into novel writing, Damaged Goods?
The audio is actually good, it cuts out a lot of the dumb stuff, keeping the interesting parts of that story.
Dylan Brown
Do note that they added weapon crafting rules in Special Modifications, and the results of making your own gun are always (barring godly luck and an absurdly skilled character) worse than just buying one. The only advantage is cost, not quality.

I don't think the games knew. They monitored some pretty shit players.
Leo Phillips
I think you just saw some people flying meme/gimmick lists. The posts in this thread were about making a maximum-bumping list.
RAC needs EU to function, and the Upsilon's issue is that it's a support ship that also pays quite a bit of points for 4 attack- it also struggles to turn around.
Do you actually want help making an Upsilon+Deci list? (besides Kylo+Oicunn bumpstravaganza that was made 2 threads ago)
Colton Harris
While we're on the topic of Kylo Ren, does his crew ability kick in when Rexler flips a damage card? Thinking of flying RAClo + IonRexpert in the next store championship.
Justin Howard
So, Im running Saga Edition for a group of 4 friends. Im wondering if my plan for the group is a good idea?
>set 5 years after order 66 >group are aliens (wookie, duros, zabrak, twilek) working in the outer rim for a Hutt >tasked with stealing an astromech droid from original crew, who were supposed to transport the droid, to an imperial officer on Ryloth >droid is actually carrying documents for a resistance group and the officer is just a middle man but the players dont know this >data is actually that the emperor will be visiting the planet in a week >Resistance leader keeps details secret but tells the party they plan to take out a star destroyer, something no one has done yet as of my headcanon
Think the players will go for it? Any suggestions?
Im kinda blatantly ripping off Lords of the Sith novel but none of my players have read it.
Benjamin Lopez
No, Icy titties only triggers when you eat a (crit) symbol during an attack.
The Rexpert is fun as shit though against things like Ghosts, Decis, and Falcons though.
Luis Rogers
How does this RAClo build look?
VT-49 Decimator: · Rear Admiral Chiraneau (46) Veteran Instincts (1) Engine Upgrade (4) · Kylo Ren (3) Gunner (5) · Ysanne Isard (4) TIE/sf Fighter: · "Backdraft" (27) Veteran Instincts (1) Cruise Missiles (3) Fire Control System (2) Lightweight Frame (2) Special Ops Training (0) Sensor Cluster (2) -- TOTAL ------- 100p. --
Hunter Gonzalez
Looks not bad. I would swap Ysanne to Hotcop, since there are a lot of cancel-weapons out and about in the curent meta.
Joshua Nguyen
Oh, and it depends on how you want to fly, but if you want to focus on the Cruise Missile, Pattern analyzer. If you want to run away and be defensive, stick with what you have.
Gavin Clark
That pic is so lame. Why didn't Vader make a quippy choking-related pun?

That would be nice, just for fun at least. Ideally I'd like RAC Kylo becuase it's a beautiful combo, and I sort of envision Stridan as a massive support ship with his range ability.
Caleb Parker
>Icy titties
That's the first time I've ever heard it called that, my sides are in orbit
Evan Williams
Seconded, great list, just switch to Hotcop
Samuel Collins
The deal with standard/Super RAClo is that he's a self contained ship, and fears no other. He's mostly just scared of dying too fast. If he has predator, his action chain is Icy Titties/Boost, and fuck the other actions, he doesn't care or really need them that often. If your RAC focuses because he has nothing to do, it's a sign that the game is about to be over and very lopsided. RAC hangs out with an ace that also has an ample supply of actions and tokens to act independently to force people to shoot at the ace, lest they get into an unwinnable 1v1 endgame, which means RAC stays alive longer. He doesn't hang out with shuttles well, because if the shuttle is the only thing left, your opponent can get behind it at any point and never get shot again.
Stridan on the other hand does 2 things well- feed people actions, and feed people tokens. Who really likes tokens and actions? small base ships Inquisitor(Really likes getting a TL at PS 4) and Carnor(Action/token hungry) in particular love Stridan.
That's the issue with combining RAC and Stridan. They are both good on their own, but they both share similar weaknesses.
TLDR- RAC doesn't really need the support that Stridan provides, both need maneuverable ships to draw fire/protect their backs.
Logan Morales
So on the topic of RAC (because we are all clearly loyal citizens of the Empire here, looking for a way to fight the rebels and pirates and their seemingly inexhaustable clones of the pirate Nym) I was wondering how to best outfit RAC and xhoose a wingman for him to potentially deal with a 3-ship build.
Since RAClo effectively turns games against other 2-ship lists into something with less authenticity than a WWE match on April Fools day, he has a place in the meta as the counter to the highest-tier of cancer that Scum and Rebels can throw out (Ironic, as RAClo himself is extremely cancerous to go against)
But how would you load him out to deal with a 3-ship list, as against more than 2 ships, he struggles. Who should be his wingman? HotCop+Gunner, or Palp?
Any ideas? I'm thinking Quickdraw might deal with getting outnumbered better due to the rear arc- or will that just put too much pressure on RAC due to QD's ability discouraging shots on her? Put in Rebel Captive somewhere?
Xavier Ortiz
Forgive my ignorance, but why id Hotcop preferable? Especially with RAC's low agility, it seems like shooting yourself in the foot (it can make high agility ships even harder to hit and can make RAC suffer more damage when attacked)
Anthony Smith
I would assume mostly for TLTs and Accuracy Corrector Autoblaster Turret, not sure how many people are running TLTs right now but the ACAT is on like every single Nym which is fucking everywhere.
Connor Parker
Wait nevermind, HSCP only works on primaries so I don't know what the fuck it has to do with cancel result weapons.
Kevin Hall
That makes a lot of sense, thank you very much.
Hotcop gunner is better becuase while Palp makes sure you have at least one crit, hotcop rewards a miss by stripping a token, making it more likely your next shot will go through and softening up the enemy for your ace. You're likely going to stay at range 1-2 anyway and the odds are good you'll get one eye result every time.
See reason above, basically Hotcop forces the enemy to get rid of a focus even if they roll no focus results. Plus with VI you're shooting first so unless they got 2 focus tokens they won't be shooting you with a focus. Plus with gunner you can shoot, miss, and shoot again, removing a focus each time. That's why a lot of people use Predator with RAC, even though I prefer VI to beat aces to the punch
Mason Diaz
If spending a focus was going to deal more damage or avoid damage, your opponent was going to do it anyways. Hotcop makes their focus tokens less useful.
It does 2 things really well for fucking with your opponent.
Firstly, it causes your opponent to have to spend focus tokens when they didn't roll any focus results. Eg-shoot someone, they blank out. Add insult to injury by forcing them to spend focus to get fucked harder by your wingman. Or if they attack you. This eventually gets in their head, and will cause them to become more dependant on TL actions, which you can play around better.
As an example, on 3 dice, they pointlessly lose a token 42% of the time, and that's assuming that you never force them to overspend.
Secondly, it forces them to spend tokens when they don't want to, and you can use gunner to fish into their defenses. Eg- you shoot someone, and you blank out. Don't reroll it yet or focus to crit from RAC, just stare them dead in the eye and tell them to roll dice and spend a focus token. Really funny if you got 1 or fewer hits and did it to poe, who then rolls 1 focus result. Then, once tokens are stripped, use all your mods and send some HHHC attacks into their tokenless ass.
TLDR- it's a card that reads "around 50% of the time, your opponent will suddenly be posessed by a retard when spending focus tokens- also, you can steal tokens with Gunner"
Lincoln Kelly
Ysanne is useless against TLT was the point of that argument.
HSCP does work against secondaries on defense though.
Connor Stewart
So if Hotcop is on RAC, who is the wingman? They need to be not scared of TLT spam, as that shit is going to be in a massive amount of 3+ ship lists.
So that's Autothruster aces- that,s Soontir, Carnor, and Inquisitor- maybe vader since he can double reposition.
I'm thinking Inky, since he has the extra health over the other 2. What missile on him, and what EPT on RAC? Or should his wingman be a pair of something, or maybe Kestal? Do you need Dauntless?
Trip jumps and Grassholes (2 jumps and Fenn) are also going to be a real problem.
Benjamin Roberts
Alright you sold
Think I could run this in a tournament?
Justin Williams
*sold me
Isaac Brown
Yeah, get some practice games in first.
Fear builds with 3 or more ships. Learn how to tactically Kylo people on turns where it matters. Don't just fly in there and Icy Titties 2 blinded right away unless you are fighting something like Death Rey.
Also, consider Pattern Analyzer instead of Sensor Cluster. It opens up your dial and lets you sloop and get a focus for a double-modded 4-die cruise missile. Note though, you do become less defensive without Sensor, and you want defense to draw shots away from RAC. Try out both beforehand. See which one you prefer.
Jace Jones
Those four are the typical wingmen you see. I usually use Inquisitor with PTL and Title for Focus+TL+Evade and then snipe from Range 3. I used Homing last time but only because I was taking revenge on a guy who used Homing+scavenger crane on me the last time we played. Prockets are pretty similar though, and give you a nice bid. Homing works better on Fenn Rau though, so it's your pick.
Matthew Davis
If I'm going for Fenn Rau, Harpoon or Cruise would make more sense, since Fenn can't evade.
So which ace will deal with 3 or more ship lists best?
Austin Moore
It's really fun. Now that I've played it, I'd buy it again if FFG released a new IP using the same system.
Asher Parker
Haven't played against Harpoon yet so I can't offer any suggestions there. Vader is likely your best choice for 3 ship lists. Inquisitor is good too. In my experience, Soontir and Carnor die pretty quick to lists with more than two ships.
Easton Gonzalez
I'm going to master a campaign with my friends but I can't think of anything. They want to be force-sensitive imperials, any way to pull that off without turning them into gary stu starkillers?
William Hill
Yes. Half of their time they have to cover their tracks, because if they get caught as force sensitives, they find themselves being interrogated and exterminated by Vader.
Carter Davis
Either make them Inquisitors or constantly worried about being caught by inquisitors if they display too much force sensitivity
Kayden Roberts
The last time I gave them too much freedom and power, they ended killing a Hutt and threatening a lot of siths. they died like 30 minutes after that.
Juan Sullivan
So a while back there was an user here talking about how he found Lucas's original drafts for how the Clone Wars, the Jedi Purge, the rise of the Empire and all that shit went down, before the prequels were a thing. It all sounded cool as fuck and I was trying to find it, but I am not having any luck. Would anyone happen to have a source for this, or was that user just bullshitting?
Lucas Butler
have them low-ranking inquisitors, with their master(s) constantly watching and breathing down their necks. make them terrified of failing him, but eager to earn his favor. let that play in to paranoia and betrayal, or possibly attempted desertion.
to get the feel right, you may have to be willing to execute a PC or two on a whim to drive home the fact that they are subservient to a higher power who doesn't tolerate bullshit, but if you think that wouldn't fly with them, just come REALLY close and give them a good scare so they know what the score is.
Jace Edwards
>Lucas's original drafts Nnnnot quite, most of the info was cobbled together from a whole bunch of sources (though a fair bit of it is from drafts, I think some are from interviews and such, could be wrong). Most are accurate though, if I recall correctly. The Annotated Scripts/Screenplays would be a good place to start, I seem to remember it talking about a few of those. It's also a good read in general, especially while you compare The Star Wars with the final product, shit's nuts.
Carter Johnson
Well, regardless. Has someone compiled all this onto one PDF / page / whatever, or do I have a long list of stuff to look through?
