We're talking about traditional games like D&D or MTG. We also talk about all sorts of useless stuff that we can use as world or character building AND have the lowest ratio of shitposting of any civilized board.

>lowest ratio of shitposting

explain the daily elf threads. Our shitposting just takes board specific forms

Lurk moar.

This.

>D&D or MTG
That would be the tabletop, pen and paper roleplaying game "Dungeons & Dragons" and the collectable card game "Magic: The Gathering" for the uninitiated.

We also have the second lowest ratio of shitposting of any uncivilized board.

No, we rarely have the usual endless tirade of bullshit most other boards have, and at a lower ratio of pretentiousness per capita, when we do shit post it's usually all in good fun. Shitposting is like THE BEST or MESSI or whatever r9k is.

Anything involving elves isn't shit, they are too perfect to shit.

>it's a crypto-elves thread

Elves are fucking faggots

What has the least?

I don't know man, look at any thread about roll20 and you'll see a metric tonne of pretention.

>lowest ratio of shitposting
The board with the lowest ratio of shitposting on Veeky Forums is like the sewer with the lowest quantity of dead rats.
Nobody promised you a rose garden, Lucille.

Become informed also: posting before you lurk? Come the fuck on user--lurk far harder.

Please link or screencap the post or thread that caused your confusion. I'd be glad to help explain things for you, my dude.

user go look at /x/, or Veeky Forums, or /mu/ and report back. That's not even sending you to the actual containment boards. Maybe /m/ is the only other non-porn board with less shitposting that isn't just a dead wasteland. I hear neo-/sp/ is bland, but nice.

Yeah /m/ is pretty chill it's basically where all the people on /a/ who weren't assholes went

These hreads caused some visible confusion.

>What has the least?
I'd have to go to other boards to know that, instead of safely making smart-ass replies in threads here.
Also, I'm not entirely certain of what metric user used to gauge either level of civilization or comparative ratio of shitposting.

Three of those threads are about hypothetical concepts for establishing a world. For example, necromancers in the military could be useful for a delta green campaign, and space critters could impact a variety of different games. They're just trying to crowd source ideas to find new ways to have fun. You don't have to understand it, someone will explain everything to a stupid extent in one of those threads.

The other one is a magical-realm lewd posting kind of thing I think some nerds masturbate to? I'm not sure why they'd care about character's relationships, but a lot of people seem to be very invested.

>explain the daily elf threads. Our shitposting just takes board specific forms
Elf threads would be fine, if just some anons refrain from sperging all over the place with their elf memes.

Every thread is a crypto-elf thread, elf masterace is applicable to every topic.

> Beware those jealous of the fae masterace's virtue.

We procrastinate about our world, characters and ideas going round and round in circles and never get anything done.

-3x world/setting building
-1x gaming experience thread, granted it's also a thinly veiled magical realm thread but what do you expect from a sister board.

The lines are a little blurred but we usually talk about games you can play with the power out.

>These hreads caused some visible confusion.
>Discussion and theorycrafting regarding Alien lifeforms for games set in space.
>Discussion of roleplaying character development in regards to romantic relationships not taken to sexual levels
>Discussion regarding characters that fit a Prestige Class called "Alienist" in D&D 3.5
>Discussion of setting details where necromancers are present in modern warfare.
These seem pretty self-explanatory.

We discuss games rather than play them.

That's /v/.

>That's /v/.
Ah, true. My bad.

We discuss games, generally with civility, rather than play them.

>Can anyone explain this board to me?
Yes.
Ribbon and Rage can.

In short, we just like to philosophise about fiction. Sometimes not even about concrete fiction, just the collective recurring themes we encounter in official releases as well as players' interpretation of those themes.

Also memes.

Not him but boards.fireden.net/tg/thread/50376726/#q50376726
>surely you listen to music while playing traditional games
No, I don't. But I do sit in a chair while playing traditional games. Would it be on topic to post a thread about chairs on Veeky Forums that does not mention games at all?

In theory, board games and tabletop RPGs like Dungeons and Dragons.

In practice, fantasy-themed mad libs ("elf slave what do?"), making up stories about imaginary scenarios you've encountered in tabletop gaming, and talking about literally anything fictional, with actual gaming discussion confined to a few generals.

you could read that thread in multiple ways
>post music that is inspiration for fantasy campaigns
>post album art that shows scenes you'd like to see in your games
>post music you like to listen to while playing fantasy games

And yes, we have threads about tg furniture (not that one you perverts), like what kinds of tables we'd like for playing (Extendible for when more people come, Round so that everyone can reach the center, half-round so that all the players are close to the GM, with inlaid pockets, with screens for maps, etc.)

Your kidding right? This place is a shadow of its former self

Anyone not running an octogonal table with a glass plate is a filthy barbarian anyway.

The problem with /m/ is a few dedicated shitposters can ruin discussion of entire topics. See faggots like the Valvrager or the Lazy Matsumoto guy. I will say most of /m/'s namefags and tripfags are decent people, VF-kun and dorkly institute for space politics are top shelf contributors.

haha, you are a funny fuck. The average edition war thread says otherwise.

Veeky Forums discusses everything civilly, except traditional games

>generally

Not even. "You're having badwrongfun" is a staple here followed closely by "Stop liking what I don't like."

Is there any place to play pen and paper roleplaying games online?
My old crew disappeared and we never followed any manual, just invented our own shit to keep it casual.

roll20 ?

Not him, but I always notice that the threads with the least amount of images per post are always the least cancerous. Out of the handful of boards that I frequent, Veeky Forums is the one where you can observe that the most.

>Your kidding right? This place is a shadow of its former self

The Mage Guild threads have been officially moved from Veeky Forums to /qst/ by the mod.

After ten years of fun, roleplaying is no longer allowed on Veeky Forums. Sad!

better than /v/ at least. I know that's not a good standard but its something.

fuck off

I just now learned about Mage Guild being moved. That's a real shame, I enjoyed seeing that on Veeky Forums, and it seems to fit better here than on /qst/ due to the freeform/undirected nature; really better for worldbuilding or game ideas than a cohesive narrative like /qst/ usually features.

>I enjoyed seeing that on Veeky Forums
you are alone

Them and the fucking "intergalactic senate". There's no worldbuilding, nothing productive or constructive. Just wank and *teleports behind you* tier cringe. If I wanted to watch a bunch of 14 year olds talk about their ocdonuts i'd browse deviant art.

Roll20 is pretty standard for common systems but finding a group has reportedly mixed results.

We had a reoccurring comfy thread a while back headed up by the user that made the Calvin & Hobbs game.
It was all about facilitating anons who wanted to play online.
The PDF is from that.
I mostly just contributed the art.

>you are alone
No he's not, as I'm sure neither are you.

I wouldn't have made the ruling, as I'd allow batting practice under the heading of sports discussion, but I understand it and accept it.
Party on.

/po/

that doesn't even count, /pol/ is just /b/ 2.0, it's specifically FOR shitposting. The boards name is POLITICALLY INCORRECT, not POLITICS. PEE OH EYE, not PEE OH EL

I said /po/ not /pol/

screencap for fail

Lurk moar faggot

/po/ not /pol/, you lichdick

I'd argue /wsg/ and /soc/ too, from the little I've seen of them

>look it the fuck up

...Paper craft?

How the fuck does Papercrafting have shitposting

How can someone be this retarded?

dude I'd rather look for music on /b/ than on /mu/. /b/tards will call you a nigger faggot and then tell you what you need to know. /mu/ is all about "my music is better than you music"

>this guy
If you still post on /b/ you shouldn't be here.

Yeah. Veeky Forums and /mu/ being so fucking pretentious always disappointed me, since books and music are two of my other big interests.

/sp/ is ok. /asp/ is cancer.

Is Veeky Forums less gay than it used to be?

Who is next? The retarded Guardsmen threads or Jumpchain or CYOA general? Takin' all bets.

no bully

>fuck off
Why so upset? Roleplaying on the role-playing board has been a popular pastime on Veeky Forums since 2007. Lots of people are unhappy with the decision to ban it.

LURK MOAR

Don't listen to this faggot we have enough WURRLDBUILDING threads and it really isn't the purpose of this board at all. If you want to show a bunch of internet strangers what you drew try a forum

Quests waren't the problem as it is. The capacity of a single board was. Half of Veeky Forums was quests. I don't read quests. Hence, I only had half of Veeky Forums. Also, by their very nature, quests threads ware persistant, redicing the life lenght of other threads.

I don't understand questfags having a problem with quest threads being moved to /qst/. Does your browser have some sort of limited Veeky Forums tabs option on, and you cannot brows Veeky Forums AND /qst/ at the same time?

Oh really? I thought people just finally got bored of them.

>muh traffic
>muh (you)s

Questfags are parasites, without attention they shrivel up and die like slugs on a salt flat.

>I have no idea what the fuck you guys are talking about

>Can anyone explain this board to me?
Sure, anything can be explained to a dumb animal, but that hardly means that it will understand.
