>30k TACTICA & TIPS What to include in a HH list, how to format it, what makes each legion special (crunch), tactics, Tutorials for Heresy-era minis and more pastebin.com/Tm2P4QLp
Second for having second thoughts about HH not being dead.
Landon Peterson
Better this than 40kg Imperial Guard shitposting.
Christian Brown
Last few generals have been more active than before, the podcasts are still going strong and other websites have an active community. There's life in the old dog yet.
Luis Brown
surely wether HH is dead or not is really a question you can only answer as a local, I'm sure that just as before there's places where not a soul plays HH (like stockholm, where I am) and other places like Ryans basement of RFI fame has to rebuild his house to fit in more istvaan V remakes.
Connor Flores
OK it's time to start some talking.
What do you like most in Horus Heresy, it's fluff, game itself, or something else?
Angel Ortiz
That FW doesn't give me anything I want. It's my fetish.
James Parker
fluff i jerk off to the 1ksons regularly especially this guy right here
Alexander Carter
Fluff is hella nice, FW actually does Techpriests and Forge Worlds properly whereas GW doesn't give a damn about us to the point of reprinting typos they ALREADY HAD TO FAQ into our Codex. In 30k we have badass and varied lore and armies and actually have some flavour.
Noah Parker
The fluff. Primarch wankery, HHNNNGGGG
Carson Howard
Fluff that has some logic behind it. Not saying it's Masterpiece Theater, but it's not Saturday morning cartoon-tier like 40k currently is. I've never been a space marine kind of guy (actually hated how much attention they always got) but it's still a better setting.
Also the more realistic look to it. You don't see as many clean and shiny marines in 30k - weathering is encouraged.
Jason Reed
>Also the more realistic look to it. You don't see as many clean and shiny marines in 30k - weathering is encouraged. this every 30k army ive seen is grungy and dirty and i LOVE it
Jason Moore
I want to run 3 Telemon Dreadnoughts in my army.
Someone convince me this is a bad idea.
Alexander Perez
It's not, and I will love you forever if you can make a Custodes army that looks like Ornstein.
Andrew Cruz
My space dad could beat up your space dad.
Jace Morris
The fluff draws me to the game, unlike 40K where the game draws me to the fluff.
The fluff is great, especially the novel series. It has it's low and high points, but the original trilogy do a great job of understanding why everyone is doing what they're doing.
I've shown my normie friends the Horus Heresy Novels, and with no knowledge of 40K, they've gotten hooked.
Justin Hernandez
That picture can't be real. I refuse to believe there's a fucking lion mount for the custodes.
This picture only makes me realize, with crippling sadness, that the Custodes share so much in common with the Sigmarines.
Easton Foster
Which makes it surprising that GW hasn't pushed Custodes in 40k much harder. The Talons of the Emperor box was a remarkably low-effort release.
Eli Robinson
Don't pretend you haven't looked at the weedy semi-demigryphs things that sigmarines ride and pictured a squad of Custards on them.
Jason Russell
Yep. Making an army from a single box. Lazy bitches from GW just added Land Raider and ugly contemptor from calth. Custodes and SoS in 40k had such great potential but GW screwed it by doing nothing.
Joseph Parker
The second Custodes can take Jetbikes on their HQ’s I’m doing it.
It’s going to be great.
Carson Thompson
It's not real. The guy just makes neat fanart. Though it's obvious the dracoth mounts kinda was used as a base for the lion. Stormcast are kinda cool. Not Custodes cool, but still pretty cool.
Evan Peterson
I love this dude’s art.
Jayden Long
>shield plus spear tribunes going four times as fast with T6
Isaac Davis
Yeah, lots of cool shit, but his tank designs are really weird. The retarded hover-Wiesel is probably the best, but it's still pretty awkward.
Ethan Wilson
>some dipshit on deviantart has more and better ideas than the entire FW team managed to scrape together in a year >he also basically delivers ideas on how to develop on them from existing models Just end it already...
Jackson Mitchell
Any nice arts for cute soulless girls?
Henry Cook
Fluff and miniature collecting. I haven't played since 3rd edition. Married life and my gun habit slowed shit down.
Cameron Walker
He must've drawn that tank after FW revealed their first Custodes vehicle; before that, we all thought they'd have grav-Rhinos. But I like his style.
Ayden Thompson
>actually liking this >while bitching about FW
Cameron Morgan
It was cars for me, and home ownership (neverending repairs). Have a kid now, but that time comes out of a) sleep and b) all the extra hours I used to put it at work that never paid off anyway. Hobby time is... well, it's not zero. I'm hoping to ramp it up soon. Gathering bits so my WS infantry look appropriately non-uniform.
Asher Ortiz
>you will never be chained down and sexually dominated by three tall, leather-clad Sisters of Silence whose Pariah gene creeps you out.
Why live?
Joseph Long
>not wanting to be chained down and sexually dominated by three tall, leather-clad Custodes who don't even need Pariah gene to creep you out.
Jackson Morris
Yes, FW has really been producing quality work for the custodes lately, right?
Mason Lopez
Two wrongs don't make a right.
Elijah Cruz
...
Nicholas Adams
I actually really love the gunship. It’s super intense and bizarre.
Adam Mitchell
Too straight for that shit.
I am sure someone wants to power bottom to Constantin Valdor though.
Zachary Perez
You do you, man, but be aware that you have shit taste.
Kayden Smith
It's not enough. If it was more stylized, like Aquila Lander style "feathers" on the wings, not having Custodes skimmer engines, and making the hull more imposing.
I like the Emperor's Marital Aid the SoS have a lot. It's straight up bizarre and imposingly alien. Something you'd see in Lynch's Dune or something, made with super SCIENCE! and arcane majicks from a forbidden time in history. Terran tech from the DAoT needs more of that, less space Cadillacs.
Mason Long
I don't see what's not to like? Jetpack custodes with lances? That's awesome. Custodes cavalry riding lions? Even better. Battleautomata for custodes use? Excellent. I'd rather have that than the decidedly mediocre Aquilon or the garbage Orion.
Parker Collins
Custodes are about 8 feet tall and they likely have a pint of testosterone in their blood, I think in comparison you wouldn't be gay for having sex with one, you'd be a girl.
Carter Jenkins
I like how the Custodes vehicles suggest that we used to learn things from the Eldar, but still with a typically human lack of finesse.
Liam Martin
No accounting for taste, I guess, but for me the Orion makes the grave mistake of matchin neither of the custodes' established design lines. It does not have the same sleek elegance their vehicles and jetbikes otherwise have, nor does it match the infantry or the walkers in terms of blinged-out opulence.
Levi Cooper
>Jetpack custodes with lances?
Which look like Stormcast Eternals had a golden baby with Grey Knights.
>Custodes cavalry riding lions?
I bet you love Thunderwolves as well.
>Battleautomata for custodes use?
Using Martian stuff? Not canon.
You also forgot their tiny headed Indomitus terminators and FW style hover go-kart.
Nolan Adams
>Stormcast mixed with GK They look nothing like either of the things you mentioned. The closest visual would be probably custodes having a baby with shadow spectres. >thunderwolves Super-heavy cavalry in general is cool. I'd love space marines on horseback just as much, provided the horses are appropriately huge. >not canon Okay, but neither were hovertanks that weren't grav-rhinos and look where we are now.
Jaxon Morgan
It's like if the Scimitar Jetbike and a Razorback had a Liger-like illegitimate child.
Kevin Reed
Anyone else play Epic30k?

You mean Adeptus Titanicus. FW said they don't plan on ever revisiting Epic.
Mason Bell
Cute
Dylan Harris

Jackson Brooks
Doesn't FW usually post a new release on Monday and then actually release something Friday nowadays? I don't recall seeing anything this week. I wish they would be transparent again.
Christian Edwards
Where did you get that user?
John Campbell
Not him, but they're underground copies that are hard to get unless the caster knows you well in the Epic forums because everyone's scared of GW. There were a few C&Ds in the past. And that's why every attempt at an Epic thread fails, because they're 20% people posting photos of minis no one can buy, 70% posts asking where to buy them, and 10% posts complaining about people posting pictures of minis no one can buy. Epic Armageddon's a great game system though. I wouldn't say that the fanmade 30k version is better, because the larger formations make consecutive activations more powerful and that can get annoying.
Next year we'll get Titanicus and the casters will probably make the same minis in the new scale. And no one will be able to buy them.
Christopher Lee
New preorders are fridays, they don't always preview something on Monday.
Chase Hill
Nah, casters aren't gonna bother upscaling their range. Besides I can use my forumware Titans with Adeptus Titanicus rules just fine.
Bentley Murphy
What the forumware people will actually do is see what FW comes up with for AT and just make them in 6mm so it actually scales fine with people's Epic armies instead of forcing people to collect 8mm like FW is idiotically doing.
Nathan Morales
Fluff. 30k is better written and more grimdark than 40k(herohammer since 5th edition). Also models are nice. I don't play game but i heard that 30k was better much balanced than 40k in 7th and even with 18/20 factions are marines is more diversed than current 40k.
Thomas Nguyen
30k have much more customization options with marines, mechanicum and imperial army than 40k with all its imperial armies and xenos. If you want your imperial army dudes can be warriors from ferral world or geneechanced soldiers with advanced bionic or warp cultists and many more. Each of 18 legions is diferend despite all being space marines. Mechanicum is awesome, you can have many robots types, tech-priests, vehicles, your magos can be whatever type of magos you want. I like 30k because it have shittons of options.
Brayden Murphy
I won't agree with "more diverse than 40k," but it does work better. It's kinda crazy how many rules each legion gets. That level of detail gives them each a ton of character. And then you've got rites of war that let you take a very wide variety of armies without any of them being as ridiculous as in 7th and 8th edition 40k. There's still a force org chart.
Kayden Murphy
There's a lot of Epic minis one can 3D print. Some of them are 30K too.
Jack Wilson
>I won't agree with "more diverse than 40k," Pound for pound (or army for army as the case may be) 40k is WAAAAAYYYY more diverse than 30k.
Adrian Perez
Any word on the future of 30k? Been wanting to get into it but heard releases are being slowed down to a crawl...
Xavier Stewart
Next book is probably out in 2019 but there's so much already out that unless you want to play BA/DA/WS there's no reason to wait.
Justin Gray
What fire arcs do Warlord's weapons have?
William Cox
First it was late this year, then it was Christmas next year, now its 2019? Where do you guys even get your info from
Isaiah Richardson
Open Day events
Jaxson Morgan
It's currently Christmas next year. user is just assuming (not without reason) that it'll get pushed back again. Even a week's delay from Christmas 2018 would put it in 2019.
There's a rulebook coming out "soon". It went to the printers weeks ago, so it really should be soon by normal people's standards. If it actually answers any of the questions the 30k community keeps coming up with, then we'll know FW is alive and well.
Other than that, expect old units without models to come out, and vehicle doors, and legion-specific praetors. There really is a backlog of units without models.
It's kind of a good time to start because you won't get distracted by the new shiny thing - happens all the time when releases are regular.
Mason Adams
In that way, that's a draw for me. It's less "Let's show off every single corner of the universe," but more "Let's zoom all the way in and show just what the humans are doing and give each of them small, yet completely game-changing differences."
Blake Wilson
>There's still a force org chart.
They could fix 40k over night if they had the balls to stick to this shit.
Hunter Taylor
8th has force org charts though.
Isaac Williams
Yeah, dozens of them, which makes the concept of a force org chart pointless.
Jacob Ross
Heavy support squads can take suspensor send for 10/15 points Each? Nice boost or turbo cheese?
Hunter Walker
Fluff all the way. Like others have mentioned, I will never say that the BL series or fluff out of the rulebooks is literary gold. But I consider it much better than anything that GW itself has been putting out in the past, say, 10 years. While I'll admit that I was originally a xenos player, and in 40k I can't stand the massive amount of SM wank, in 30k it has a much different vibe. It is the mythic age to 40k's modern era, a time when gods walked among men and titanic battles were waged that would go down in legend.
Mason Rogers
Probably cheese for the cheaper heavy weapons, but not too bad when you're already paying 40 points for a lascannon guy.
At least it's a LoW, so no this plus titan or any such other thing.
Wyatt Flores
Custodes have no weaknesses now. Except maybe a titan.
Brody Williams
Does Forgeworld ever plan to make 8e stats for all those custodes/sisters of silence stuff they've made for Horus Heresy?
Nathan Allen
Probably when they update the whole of HH to 8th edition. So never basically.
Elijah Thomas
And hordes. And flyers. And heavy gunlines. But, sure, let's doomsay.
Cooper Nelson
Sure, right after they make rules for their AdMEch stuff. Oh, wait...
Jose Hall
It's a undergunned transport that costs a shitload of points for an army that always struggles to get enough models on the field. It's one saving grace, Assault Vehicle, is excellent, but not enough to make me want to field one.
Evan Perez
>undergunned >8 S8 shots or 2 S10 AP1 Exoshock >6 S7 rending shots >6 S6 shots Sure it lacks D or a large blast but it's not exactly undergunned
Jeremiah Rogers
For over 600 fucking points it sure as shit is undergunned.
Jonathan Powell
got a 'real' one in the post from Z
will it be a pile of crap or actually a good cast... only time will tell
Jayden Garcia
That's a bit disappointing. I'd love to run a terran force (SOB, SoS and Custodes) but support for the various groups is split between 8e and HH.
Thomas Ward
>You mean Adeptus Titanicus. FW said they don't plan on ever revisiting Epic.
They really should not have reused the Adeptus Titanicus name for an entirely different game in a different scale.
Jack Perry
>What the forumware people will actually do is see what FW comes up with for AT and just make them in 6mm
But will FW actually make new designs? It seems like they're just slavishly converting their 28mm designs into 8mm ones, and there won't be anything new if they keep on doing that.
Christopher Johnson
What upgrade would you like to see on a unit, either legion specific or general?
>vets can take jump packs
Eli Watson
Destroyers get access to power weapons. Maybe one per three guys plus one on the sarge?
Something about a bunch of destroyers with power axes gets me hard.
Gabriel Perez
They’ve already talked about bringing out Titan classes that were only ever mentioned in fluff like the Nightgaunt class Titan and you can be they’ll do Oreo Sinister psytitans
