To be fair, it doesn't actually say it's a gauntlet, with the normal gauntlet rules. It just says your perks have "been rendered non-functional", which, well, "gauntlet rules" are one of those things that people assume is a rule but actually isn't. Light of Terra, for example, does the same thing with rendering everything you have "non-functional", but it doesn't count as a Gauntlet. Is that what this is meant to be? A less grimdark LoT?

The word "Document" just below the title has now been altered to "Gauntlet" to make this fact clear.

Its basically like that situation from Medaka Box, Jumpchan has no idea what her purpose is, what she should do in her existence, so she wonders if self termination is an answer, but before-hand she wants to see what a mortal would do with this power. So while she pitched it to me that it was just a hunky-dory adventure and she wanted amusement, I saw something. Maybe it was a subconscious thing, but I knew I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I just didn't believe her deal and refused, she seemed a little too desperate. I just want to save her.[\spoiler]

But a mortal can't even come close to appearing to mimmick her power until the very end. Their development and mindset would be completely different because they wouldn't actually have that kind of power until they've already been affected by lesser power.

While the asymmetry triggers me I'm not seeing a problem. Students are the weakest background since you need to hella dip into drawbacks to have both the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception and the physicals needed to actually use them, so they get a strong Companion for free. Vampires are the strongest, so they get a weak Companion (who can't even possibly get the Eyes Shiki needed to do things). Church dudes and Atlas dudes get the other for free since they're both middle of the road.
