I struggle to believe dropping half your crew's stones on two models is a great idea though, especially when Thunders crews are already small because everything is so expensive.

Not taking Yu also means you don't have to take the dumb boring static model either, which is a bonus. I get what they were going for, it just doesn't really do it for me.

It just doesn't seem to do enough besides that when you can get a fair bit more for those stones.

In the example crew I gave you are taking minimum 8 activations and have a model that can give reactivate out for even more. Plus with yu and emissary you can alpha strike hard enough to achieve numerical advantage through murder.

Invinci marcus is a bitch, as is indestructifeng and untoucholette.

I know the Avatar models can be used as official stand ins for Emissaries, but do you have to own the emissary for the cards/upgrades to use it?

I'm getting the Hoffman Avatar (because robits are the entire reason I'm getting into the game), and would like to be able to play it, if I can.

Putting armor on Marcus and sending him in there seems pretty good as well yeah.

Also, armor on Sandeep really goes a long way together with Impossible to Wound to keep him safe. The card cycling is pretty darn good with him as well, as any model you activate can make use of a high card copying one of Sandeeps casts (especially the steamfitter itself).

I think the Hoffman, Nico, Colette and Seamus Avatars are the only ones that aren't utter trash models.
The cards are all available in the books, and Wyrd have said that print-outs should be legal for tournament use, so you're fine.

When i first saw the art of her just standing still with literally zero indications that shes a necromancer or mage or whatever i was disappointed. I was fucking horrified when i saw her crouching with still nothing to indicate shes a necromancer. The model actually looks like shes hiding from the zombies.

Lady Justice, Sonnia, Perdita, Raspy, Levi and the Dreamer got pretty sweet avatars in terms of model quality. Though seriously what the fuck how are you supposed to dell the difference between lillith and zoraida's avatar (neither even feels very connected to the master) and Viktoria's avatar whilst kind of cool in concept fails in model quality. Nico's again cool in concept fails in quality.

I think I would have been find with her just standing there.
Her crouching down is weird.

I think I summoned a total of 47 points the last time I played Nico (4 punk zombies, two necro-punks and a hanged). The Vics put them down about as fast as I could summon them.

I like Simulacrum #29.

Sure but you can make do with a lesser amount, its probably even better for practicing him. In general you just need one model for each role and soulstone cost. Punk Zombies are 7 cost damage dealers so there's a good start!

Alternate choices include Necropunks and Crooligans for schemers, Shikome as beaters and Flesh Constructs as tanky as fuck.
Seamus' Box + Dead Doxies and a Nico Box gets you a great Seamus crew and a great Nico Crew, throw in some canine remains and then work towards some of the higher cost models and/or mindless zombies. McMourning's box comes with a flesh construct and a Canine Remains, so that can be good if you don't want many canine remains or even if you want tons.

I like Zorida's the youthful version instead of an old hag is cool.

I think she's supposed to be summoning hands from the ground with her right hand while directing zombies/hands with her left.
I actually like that she's not skulznbonez or robes and staff or the classical necromancer aesthetic, and from what little I know of her backstory it is a far more appropriate model than Morticia Addams up there.
For cohesive crew aesthetics though, Morticia's maybe a bit better.

Sense as a concept, yes. I just think the model is pretty poorly executed, especially compared to today's sculpts. Admittedly, that's not the company's fault, they did what they could with what they had, and even just a resculpt of the same pose/concept would look good, but at the moment I think it's ugly.

I'll concede the point on #29 though, he is actually a bretty gud model.

You just listed all the avatars I think look stupid.
Some of the sculpts are reasonably good as technical executions of the piece, but the concept/plan was bad from the start.
Dreamer in particular just looks stupid as a model, Lady J's sculpt probably should've stayed as art because I don't think it works as a model, and Dita's ridiculous mount is ugly.

Zoraida's literally the pagan archetype of femininity in the Crone form. She just reverts to the Maiden phase in her avatar form.

I wanna make an alt Emissary because the official model is trash and pisses me off because it's so close to being very good, but the only avatar I own is Colette and the very thought of putting them onto one 50mm base hurts me ._.

So how worthwhile is it for Hoffman to make the Pale Rider a cyborg? It would let him get nimble, and a zero action to bank a ram so he can Last Crossing earlier or something.

The fact its a young Zoraida is not communicated at all though. She isn't using any of her voodoo shit.
It does when its explained, but it could just as easily be Zoraida's avatar. It has no real connection to lillith aesthetically. Lillith isn't just a tree hugger, hell that's not even a particularly big part of her character. If she had her living sword in her avatar form or terror tots were bursting from the ground maybe.

Using plants in some way is a MAJOR part of her character though. Hell the majority of her actions and abilities have something to do with plants or terrain.

There are literally voodoo dolls as part of the model, she's summoning a swamp golem from the back, and there's a crow perched on the tree shes standing next to. Anyone that knows anything about the game should have no trouble telling that that's Zoraida's avatar.

I've just seen on the awful place that Ressur McMourning can now take Oxfordian Mages and give them Debt to the Guild for a turn of free Furious Casting at Ca6 3/4/5.
I can't decide if that's worth leaning into to maximise built-in Tomes, or if only getting one makes sense since they are expensive and flimsy outside of Arcanists.

Kind of expensive for one. 7ss for a turn of good shooting.

Yu does what Shenlong does and the Emissary does that as well. You're filled to the brim with redundancy at that point where you could be turning Yu into an Izamu/two units/etc. And the Emissary beats out Yu because the Emissary+a Low River Monk equals three cards drawn a turn and an extra activation for 3 SS more. Three big support pieces, especially if two of those are 10-11 SS and the other a master is just too much to put in one list. There are much better and more needed things you can include. And if you go Emissary+Yu+retarded poison combo you're down 34 SS and not a beater in sight to actually profit from the minusses. 38 SS if you don't want to miss out on 3 cards a turn.

Lilith's is also decent, and is fitting in theme to the emmissary model.

Directed at It's not that Yu is bad with Shenlong, he's just completely outclassed by the Emissary+LRM and takes up space from someone who could be actively benefiting from all the buffs handed out, rather than being the 25 SS of your list working on handing out buffs.

Like I said here ; I think the concept is good, the execution is poor.
With today's sculpting/casting proficiency and technology it could look nice, as the official Neverborn emissary does, but as it is it doesn't.

That's exactly my plan. Watcher's such a cool model.

Thanks for the perspective. I may just go with Shenlong+Emissary+LRM, and use the extra rocks for Yasunori. The extra pushes are probably redundant especially if you keep wandering river on Shenlong long enough.

A nice basic list for Shenlong is

etc, etc

Kang's great for Ressers and Armor, LS is obviously nice, especially with a 9 card hand. Graves if you feel you somehow need more pushes, Bettari against Gremlins, Izamu for some sturdiness, Yasunori for death from above, Toshiro if you get some Illuminated, Gwyneth+2 Illuminated, another Sniper... Whatever you want, though I'd try to get 3+ units out of it. Though Izamu+Yasunori sounds fairly disgusting, come to think of it. And you're still at 8 at that point.

She blocks enemy Df and Wp triggers in a 6" aura, so no squeeling 4 u hehe

But yeah, initially seeing it as overkill an 8 activation list with Yasunori AND Izamu is definitely something I'll be trying out some more. Give them Smoke Grenades/RT/Equality and maybe use that last SS for Death Trigger on them so they'll always keep access to the Emissary's pushes...

As a Colette player I can vouch for Bettari being a bitch.

I had a good hunt through the line, but for the most part it's either perfectly generic or batshit insane.

Kang's great for Constructs, but I think he's mainly a counterpick for Ressurs and Arcanists - Undead and Constructs.
If you meant Hard Worker giving other Foundry models (0) Precise, then I think that only really makes sense in a Mei Foundry crew, rather than a general pick.

I'd stick Arcanists in there as well, as many Henchmen and Enforcers, as well as a good handful of lower-station models, lean on Df triggers for durability.

I think I'd go rouge. Abuela can obey it for more shooting. Domederes can also obey it.

Also it works in Ressers if you want that too.

Looking at the card, the necromancy it's pretty much better in all the ways, except Cerberus has leap.

I think it'd basically bout fun to wether you think you're you need the mobility or not.

So, I'm thinking about trying to branch off from Ulix, the only Master I ever played. I was thinking about Wong, something like:

If you want to fight freikorps, just take Zipp or Somer. Somer can pepper shots and just top deck after emptying the opponent's hand or Zipp can just run circles around them.

You don't need Gremlin Luck.

Just a heads up but Gremlin's luck is only to flips during his activation.
So damage prevention and healing flips generally won't get a positive.

I do the same setup and it works most of the time. If there are a number of schemes that require scheme markers in the pool Sammy turning them into pigs can be disgusting.
Her cast being able to turn off triggers can also be amazing.

You should look at taking old cranky over the Lovely Assistant. I love wong and other thank Freikorps you should be good!

Wong newbie from before () here. So, I guess I could keep using piggies against Freikorps. Against those others guys, how fucked I am? What would you guys suggest goes well with Wong? I figured that Magical Glowy Burt and one/two Swine-Cursed might go well, with their ignoring a fair bit of wound preventing rules. Burt being both able to cast Crackerjack Timing (should work well with Wong) and Sic the Piggified SwineCursed might do the trick. What I'm scared of is the low number of activations in that 25 stones list.

Crackerjack Timing is less useful against the Freikorps because they'll be ignoring all your explosions - Wong, Pigs etc.
Focus the defence-ignoring tech like Glowy and Swine-Cursed.

Wong shouldn't be a bad pick into anything else. Once you get start to get the lightning jump bs off it can get disgusting really fast.
Burt is a decent glowy target but I haven't found crackerjack timing to be as amazing as it seems on paper.
I really really like Mancha Roja as a glowy target. He just walks up removes whatever gets in his way.
I've never taken swine-cursed because I don't own them, but they seem great on paper.
You should get Merris though. Letting your friendlies ignore pulses and blast damage can help mitigate wong hurting your own dudes. And she is busted.
Turn one I like to have cranky drop a marker near wong and then have wong pick it up with his (0). Wong generally completes claim jump every turn.

Also what's the verdict on Freikorpsmann, a friend of mine claim they're more or less useless but looking at their stats they're surprisingly good for such a cheap minion.

I played my first game with Titania with Pact With the Grave and man is she a ton of fun with that upgrade.

Good with Schill, not so much outside the Freikorps crew.

I think they are one of a few models in the game that suffer from being so much better with the appropriate Master that they are sort of bad without them.

What about the Specialist? It feels like a good unit to have especially when the enemy groups up and to use in conjunction with locking down units and then burning all that shit, while all Freikorps units being immune to pulses and shit.

I have a friend who really likes them in Vik's. He tend to run the build a bit not supportyy though with I pay better and howling wolf tattoo

You've forgot Anna Lovelace. Usefull model, when it comes down to dealing with masters like Lilith and Shenlong. Also has some great Ca actions.

Definitely neverborn. Titania became t1, Lilith got strong other options, dreamer got strong options, Zoraida got bumped up a tier.

Those are all decent models on the table, so that would all be good. TT masters aren't too picky about what models you run them with. That set up would be decent with McCabe, Shenlong, or anyone who isn't Mei Feng for that matter.

I really like those models, but I picked up the two standing ones second-hand, pre-constructed and undercoated black.

Not taking damage from the gun misfiring seems pretty good.

Royal Indignation and Pact with the Grave Spirit are bonkers good upgrades, and the Primal Conflux fixes all of the Emissaries main issues(needing suits to do anything on an enforcer), while also giving it a nice support option for your Fae. gg18 is still a non-factor because it isn't done yet.

Good models for her outside her box are the Cyclops, Hannah, Barbaros&Tannen(if you have one you should really have the other), The Emissary, Nekima, Mature Nephilim, McTavish and Wisps.

Favor of Jigoku and Favor of Earth are the ones that people generally go for. Once you get those then you can park a pair somewhere and start shooting without too much to worry about.

It seems to offer a bit less than Jigouko and Earth.

With the Samurai's +++flips to attack, I flip 4 cards, my opponent flips defence.

Before, because the loser must cheat first and you can't determine a winner before settling on a card
