>IT CONTINUES. EVEN MORE!

(And yes I know about the seem shut up about it, I'm fixing it.)

Dont forget the flame inside the brazier

So I need a scheme for my Inq stormtrooper scions. Black armour with red fatigues or red armour with black fatigues. Gold trim on both. Help me choose lads.

Go with black armor

Stop telling me bout the small details and tell me bout the big things! I wanna make sure I'm doing this right!

Thanks tho, didn't notice it till now.

Done the actinic glow effect on my terminator weapons, what do you think?

pretty good, saved

I think black armour would contrast better with the gold

Not bad, but it cuts off abruptly. Maybe try and get a more gradual transition. It's not a big deal though.

good shout, i'll apply a metal glaze at the edge

It just looks in progress. Is there anything in particular you're concerned about? I'm not currently sold on your sword's blending, but I suspect you aren't done.

Finished up some more poxwalkers.

The extent of the glow is appropriate for how bright the light on the rest of the model is. People tend to overestimate how much the light would really extend. Could be brighter at the brightest points though. Patrician chapter choice btw

Did some post codex hand surgery and started the blade.

So the transfers are done, is there any way to get those less shiny?

And the dudes are completly done with that, what ya´ll think of them?

The rest of the wip squad is almost done too.

Sweet color scheme. Did you use matte or gloss to seal down the transfers?

as of now i only did one coat of lahmian medium atop of the transfers. they are so shiny still

Apologies for potato photo, I had to nick these from an earlier Facebook post because otherwise it would be sideways

Thoughts and criticism?

Different perspective

Very early wip of my dunecrawler, so I bought Fuegan Orange, because Agrax seemed way too dark on Vallejo Light Orange

And so far, I really like that Orange Shade

Just varnish the whole miniature, you'll want to do that to seal them and it'll give the transfers the same finish as the rest.

Happy to be back on track. Almost finished with this primaris today, staying true to the original paint scheme, just as my captain and hopefully (if my strength holds) the rest of the force.

Some of the decals slid a bit without me noticing, and this resulted in, not much but enough to bother me, not being placed perfect. But other than that, Im pretty pleased on how he's coming along.

How did you make that blue?

looking RAD my dude

best ultra color scheme

The rust is top level, if I have to cherrypick, the leather of the bolter get lost with the trim of the shoulder.

Good point. Change the leather, or add some Oxide to the shoulder you reckon?

Using and airbrush I started with a black base primer then laying down a base work of Armypainter Dark Sky, using the black base as a means to create shadows along the way. Working my way up to Viking Blue (of the same brand). Always imagining where the light would hit it, and in that way try to create a zenital highlight. I finished it of by adding some white to the mix for an even higher highlight, and then bringing it down a bit with a home made glaze of the base color mixed with Privateer Press Blue Ink and a medium really really thin. This gave me shadows and bound the colors together. I then went over the model with a pin-wash of Nuln Oil Gloss, in all sharp corners.

Hope this helps.

Thanks! Really helps pushing me in the right direction of wanting to continue painting this army.

Not your fault but the head really sits too damn high on this miniature.

Paint the leather a a really dark brown.

just glaze it down

You want my advice? Your in a rush. You have started painting the next color before the first one is not nearly close to finish, heck, even dry I bet.

If I where you, I would go back to the blue, work on the highlights until you're satisfied. And then move on to the gold etc. You keep doing this step by step, and you wont have a model that looks half finished on just about every part of it.
Forget the sword, fuck the base, don't even bother with the brazier, don't do the eyes, don't do the scrolls and so on. One color at a time, and give each area the attention it needs.

On the good side, you are making progress on that gold, a bit thick at times, but you have given it some good contrast.

suggestions on how to paint metallic brown? citadel paints.

pic related.

3rd raider done

some bronze/brass colour and then a brown wash maybe?
otherwise, any metallic colour = base colour + metallic medium

thanks, il try some brass with agrax first.

Basecoated my inquisitor, unfortunately it looks shit.
Any ideas for better colour choices?

my back twinged just looking at that poor guy

...

Dark purple cloth

Guess that means I did a good job

Just finished the first 5 (of 15 planned) Victrix guard - a.k.a. ablative wounds for Guilliman (they're Company Veterans)

Ultramarines 3rd Company Captain (right) with 3rd Company Lieutenant

dude those are fucking F R E S H

I'm sorry but having been deluged by primaris I can't see these guys as anything other than wonderfully painted squats. Especially the second guy from the left

Ultramarines 3rd Company Command Squad

3rd Company Command Razorback (right side)

3rd Company Command Razorback (left side)

Totally ace ultras, bro. I love the horus heresy crests and the company standard is sick.

is the banned hand painted, if so you have very, very good painting skills

>Space Marines
>Chaos
>non-Space Marine
It's an epidemic, I swear.

Is there a guider even advice of any sort somewhere for the Masque of the Dance Without End? They're not covered in Warriors of the Laughing God and I'm scratching my head over that bright purple.

Nah, it's a waterslide transfer from a sheet they used to sell - if I tried it freehand it'll look pretty derpy

>Shitposter
It's an epidemic, I swear.

So how new are you, exactly?

Welcome to every WIP ever.
Soon it will be the same way with AoS and Stormcast.

Should i equip company veterans with ranged or melee weapons?

>the two most popular factions get the most attention
Who
would
have
thought?

>The most popular factions in a board practically dedicated to 40k (and anything else not 40k is shit like dnd) are posted a lot in a wip thread
retardation is an epidemic

Thats like 5 space marine posters, 3 chaos and 3 non space marine posters.
Thats not too bad

>55737427
>he chose to bitch instead of contribute
Not even worth a reply, but just remember that you're the reason this website is going down the shitter.

So then paint something else and post it. Or just whine about nothing for no reason I guess.

Ultramarines 3rd Company 1st Squad w/ Rhino

Ultramarines 3rd Company 3rd Squad

Ultramarines 3rd Company 4th Squad w/ Rhino

Ultramarines 3rd Company 8th Squad (Assault) w/ Contemptor Dreadnought

Lookin' good, man.

Ultramarines 3rd Company 9th Squad (Devastator) w/ Rhino

Almost forgot, last but not least, the most deadly battle brother in the demi-company - Honored Brother Shotarius

Stay salty, my friend.

a so salty
is a veryvery
ayy
so salt
so very salt
is a so salty

Ahh, if only assault marines weren't shit and overpriced

Warplock Bronze is exactly what you're looking for.

Is there any difference in colour between Gauss Blaster Green and Nihilakh Oxide?

Also what exactly qualifies Nihilakh Oxide as a technical paint anyway?

nihilakh oxide is more blue and it's for making the blue shit on copper

>the fuck am I holding

Does anyone have the quick guide to painting Alpha Legion? Not but the one with four images?

How can I make my Necron Weapons less boring? When I tried to edge highlight them it just looked awful since I'm bad at that. Is there any way to make them look nicer?

user I'd like to help but your picture is near impossible to properly look at. What exactly were you hoping to do with the weapons? Glow?

Sorry user, the camera I have is pretty bad, and I don't have a lot of good light sources so things look grainy. Hopefully this is better.
Really I'm just looking for ideas on how to make the blades themselves look better.

Finally finished his arm. Does anyone have a guide for painting white hair?

pretty much like painting white on most thing.
>Base grey
>paint anything that isnt a recess with a grey+white mix
>highlight white

What is that shoulderpad on the apoth from?

Dude, I MUST have a closeup of the dude with the awesome hair.

They're from Wargame exclusive.com... I don't normally shill but, I just got these today and they were immaculate. Very detailed and no flaws whatsoever.

Who? Topknot? I'm not very proud of him. I botched his face.

Looks good to me, would proudly field him.

I mean you could brighten them up. This might be a bit out of your league for now but its something to work toward taleofpainters.blogspot.com/2017/09/tutorial-how-to-paint-nmm-style-blades.html

I prolly will as soon as chaos get's a primaris equivalent.

How do I paint black robes? Like, ok abbadon black over black primer, but how the hell do I shade this thing?

I always found that a wash of nuln oil gives a unique effect to the black, then highlight with ashen grey.

Ashen or Eshin cause I have the latter?
Also thanks user.

Your spelling is right, I'm sorry. I don't have the paint on hand so yeah lol
