Let's create a Imperial Guard Regiment

1d4chan.org/wiki/Imperial_Guard_Regiment_Creation_Tables

With the release of the new codex, I feel like we should all create a new regiment of guardsmen for folks like me who can't decide on what space men they want.

Rolled 2 (1d10)

I'll do the first roll, then anyone who is interested can roll with me. First off, we roll a d10 to see what our regiment classification is!

>Imperial Guard: A true regiment, drilled and competent in their service.

We basic boys, but that's never a bad thing. So, next we need to roll a d100 for our recruitment criteria.

I'm interested.

Rolled 81 (1d100)

My very first fudged roll. This is embarassing.

Rolled 98 (1d100)

Rollin

>>Gangers: They fought each other in the slums, now they fight a true enemy.
Oh my, we Steel Legion style boys. Now we need to roll a d10 for the nature of our recruitments.

>My very first fudged roll. This is embarassing.
We all stuff up at one point user, fear not.

We'll use your role for the homeworld. Now , let's check what we go-
>>Home World Lost: Ghosts do not fear death, but they seek life with a terrible fury.
Oh..

Rolled 9 (1d10)

Goin for that roll

>Standard conscription: Average or above-average citizens recruited from all levels of society
So it seems a large majority of the gangers in our army signed up willingly. Well, with a lost homeworld, lets skip the terrain for our former world and get right to rolling a d100 for our core units.

Rolled 81 (1d100)

No, no, knowing what climate these gangs operated in makes things cooler. Almost all gangers come from hives, but what kind of hive was it?

Well if you insist, then we will use your roll for what the terrain was like, so it was...
>>Dead World: Able to make full use of the technology required to survive in such places.

Well then, now that we know, we can roll that d100 for the core units. Dead World..must have been a pretty shit place to live, but I bet the gangers loved it.

Rolled 62 (1d100)

I agree I'll roll for the units.

>>Mechanized Infantry
So sentinels and transports? Interesting.

d10 for our specialisation on the battlefields of the 41st Millennium.

Rolled 10 (1d10)

Mechanized Infantry, best infantry.

>>Hive Warfare
>Mechanised Infantry in close-quarters fighting
You know, I kind of want to see how that would go down. Sentinels striding down roads and factories and shit while Chimera's plow through roads and slums.

Roll a d10 for our loyalty to the Imperium.

Rolled 5 (1d10)

I could see them using their own transports as cover, as opposed to digging trenches and such, Just blocking off entire roads in the hive with them for blockades and such.

Rolled 7 (1d10)

Rollin for street sentinels

Rolled 5 (1d10)

>>Adherent: Hold fast to the Creed and His will.
We stand loyal to the will of the Emperor. Roll a d100 for any special equipment the regiment might have.
>I could see them using their own transports as cover, as opposed to digging trenches and such, Just blocking off entire roads in the hive with them for blockades and such.
I like this idea. This is cool.

Rolled 96 (1d100)

Again for street sentinels

It also means their defenses would be just as mobile as they are, which would be annoying as hell to fight.

>Not rolling since I got the last two.

>>Modified Weaponry
Huh, maybe our gangers like to customise their weaponry, maybe even tweak out their transports and sentinels. Roll a d100 for our regiment creed.
>street sentinels
I like it, but we need to flesh out more about them before we decide on names.

>It also means their defenses would be just as mobile as they are, which would be annoying as hell to fight.
They sound like really good shock troopers, like dollar-shop tempestus scions or something.

Rolled 19 (1d100)

>>For The Homeworld: This regiment's mission is to demonstrate the skill and steel of the homeworld to the rest of the Imperium.
Can we give a quick salute and a moment of silence to these gangers?

...

...

Alright, now that is done, roll 2d100 for our allies and then our enemies.

Rolled 50 (1d100)

Going for allies

Rolled 92 (1d100)

Enemies

Rolled 44 (1d100)

And for ennemies

>Gangers are besties with the SoB
>They fucking hate Dark Eldar
What kind of wacky world am I living in right now?

>>Adepta Sororitas
Perhaps they assisted them in the defence of their home world?

>>Dark Eldar
Those knife eared cunts..I bet they were responsible for the destruction of the world somehow.

Well, that's all of the rolls out of the way, so now comes the part where we flesh it out with words and stuff.

To summarise, our regiment is:
>A proper, true Imperial Guard regiment. No strings attached.
>Comprised mostly of Gangers who have willingly conscripted themselves
>They belonged to a Dead World, before it was somehow lost. Despite this, they still fight on.
>They specialise in the usage of mechanised infantry and Hive Warefare, probably due to a mix of their military experience and ganger lifestyle.
>They are adherent and obey the will of the Imperium.
>They modify their weaponry, tweaking and changing their effectiveness.
>They fight for the honour and memory of their lost homeworld.
>They are allied with an Order of the Adepta Sororitas whilst also despising the Dark Eldar.

Well, lets start with uniform. How would a ganger coming from a Dead World dress? Would they wear long coats resistant to the dangerous eco-system? Do they wear short and tight-fitting uniforms as to not interfere with their piloting of sentinels? Or do they employ heavy usage of cadia-like armour, as it's cheap and easy to maintain?

>Comprised mostly of Gangers who have willingly conscripted themselves
>They are adherent and obey the will of the Imperium.
>They are allied with an Order of the Adepta Sororitas

Some sort of "redemptionist" regiment?

Gangs from their world could be overrall more religious than the average gangers and often cover their bodies with religious and gang tattoos (like the salvadorian MS13).

The more fervent of these gangers or those seeking to escape the harsh life of their hives often joined special regiments to fight for the Emperor.

>Despising Dark Eldars
Maybe their world was used as a testing ground for the Deldars Crystal Plague and was only partly evacuated by the Ecclesiarchal force stationed on the planet.

I can see that working. Maybe they had also somehow warped the destruction of their home world from idea into their religious views somehow as well.

"Fight to return the memories of home, fight to remember that which once made us welcome. May our machines and hands bring death to those who wish it, and if not; lest we die, and return to once we came, for it is the wishes of His Will."

Wait a minute.

>Hive city on a death world
>Specialised in mechanised infantry

The gangers would have used sentinel power-lifters to transport goods all over the place. Maybe the surface of the planet was packed with ravaging dust storms or had more lava than land, so only the safe transportation of a sentinel could provide such luxury to the poor.

Once they became a regiment or were given access to better equipment once conscripting, they would take that experience and push it to the extreme by seeking and destroying high-value targets or scouting out the battlescape.

They were probably "gangers" that decided to become a full on militia in the face of an invasion or something.

and dont forget how they help grannies and love tp play with kittens

I bet our gang is a fan of fire, if we're friends with the SoB.

What if they were less "gangers" and more "cultists?" As their planet succumbed to the disaster that claimed their homeworld, many cults to the Emperor popped up. After their planet was declared lost and the remnants of the cults got rounded up and made into a regiment that's broken up into platoons composed of specific cults. Regimental command could be a council rather than a singular figure.
