This is basically porn right?

Also the booru should be updated, It was acting wonky when I was uploading files

Is the new item set going to go in the main gen album? It's definitely not a work in progress anymore.

yup, just added it

also moved the choco dics to the top, since your meant to pick your "rations" for the start of your adventure

>imgur.com/a/8ka0l
Maybe take it out of the work in progress album too then? And either replace the gen 3 expansion chart with the mockup new one, or put them both in there for comparison.

I dont control the WIP imgur, Phi does

Updated now.

I would suggest moving the companions between Gen III and Gen III E, and moving the treasures after Gen IV. At least until we work out more about how those interact with each other or overhaul the progression. I could see the logic for leaving it as is though so it might be better to not change it but just a suggestion.

Speaking of our lovely bags of dicks, should we ever add a power to the mint dick? I know it personally drives me crazy for it not to have a defined effect...

I always figured that was the joke, but yeah it prolly needs some stats

Am I the only one who doesn't really ever bother with the chocodicks?

I glanced over them once, but I never use the things. More interested in princesses and their bonuses. Plus it seems like the magical bag is the best choice, get infinite selection.

I'd say Original Gen 3 companions chart should be in between gens 3 and gen 3 exp. Then Gen 3 Expansion companions chart in between G3Exp and G4. It makes the most sense in terms of chronological order, and doesn't force readers to scroll up and down 2 images to find what they want.

Posting lizard princesses
quote" Princess born in the dark forests where monsters eat cold blooded species, wishes to find a warm blooded knight that was prophesied to save them.

Hey booru user, thanks.

Think you could check the /aco/ and /ic/ for new pics too?

Red's at least sending out a picture a day for the kinktober. Saw some other good pictures in those as well.

red didn';t update yesterday for some reason, actually.

>Clearly clothed
>Only shows basic shape of rump
>"It's porn"

...

Besides the absurdly limited number of uses, the whole chart's rendered moot by 1) DP3's companion and 2) the magic bag with no limit on how many can be taken out (just store them elsewhere). Even on a visual level, the half-filled template makes it look like an unfinished concept.

Pow!

Very nice, only thing I would suggest changing is the Beguile Bracelet. The term NPC does not really fit with towergirls especially since you could mate with them anyways currently.

Also, be more careful ton to crop off part of your princesses when you turn them into cards. Either lower her down or shrink her minimal possible to make her fit.

It's the kind of system that would get more use out of a finished game than a CYOA.

The magic bag is easy enough to fix; Just make it so that the bag doesn't produce a new dick until the previous one has been consumed. We also don't know for sure that the bag granted by DP3's wealth bonus creates MAGIC dicks. It could just be a bag of infinite tasty chocolate.

As for being a moot point, some of the dicks have properties that replicate dowries and bonuses on a limited basis, which can be useful if you don't actually acquire those items. Further, from a "gameplay" standpoint several of them would be useful for empowering the knights to rescue their first princesses, slay (or lay) the dragon, and thus gain the items and experience needed to be successful in later generations. Plus, it IS mentioned as something your knight starts with in the first generation's instructions, so... it definitely has a place in towergirls.

True, I rarely "use" them either, but I like having them as options in case I need them. Also? For any knight that doesn't plan on using the dicks much, the old bag is the best choice. Gives you chances for free wishes via the chaos-flavored dicks.

>I'd say Original Gen 3 companions chart should be in between gens 3 and gen 3 exp
Seconding this, it's the most sensible. The first sixteen companions are from Gen III, all the others are expansion characters.

ill change up the problems you mention. Beguile Bracelet might be a charm that connives enemies that are about to die to fight on your side

The theme for lizard princess was her being a cultist who wants people to pray to sir knight like a deity.

Question

To you guys, what would you say is the essence/essential to making a gameplay gimmick for a Gen? What is it about Dowries, Idols, Companions, and the like that makes them interesting, uniquem and work out for Towergirls?

Being varied, fitting the princess, and the general theme of each gen, as well as being enticing to the player that would want them?

In the first gen, items had equal weight in your cart as the princesses. In the subsequent gens, idols and companions were more like baggage that went along with the princesses. However, they could usually still be bought/rescued separately from rescued princesses... At their core I think each one is a gameplay modifier. The most direct example of this is Gen IV's classes for princesses.

Well, every gimmick so far has given you a choice of multiple options per Princess, and there was some limit to which of them you could take. I think that's the important thing to keep in mind when designing one; it makes it seem like an interesting gameplay mechanic.

Yea, this exactly. Idols, classes, and if we include spin-offs, Vilegirls' Enslaved/partner bonuses, they're all unique, fit the theme of the gen, and help each princess stand out.

Interesting. I'm currently working on my own Gen, and have been trying to think of a good gameplay gimmick. I probably need to decide on an overall theme to what's gooing on, but for that I need to decide on the "Dragon" of my Gen, or at least a reason/story behind why the Princesses need rescuing from whatever predicament they're in.

So far, I have a list of potential dragons, and only one idea for a potential theme. Perhaps I should think more on what choice to make in that field before thinking of potential gameplay gimmicks

The gimmick is just as important as the theme, in my opinion. Part of what keeps each generation unique is the gimmick behind what you're picking, so that's the biggest part.

Thinking of what the dragon is after or what she's like usually helps frame a gen's gimmick.

Yea, better to make your theme very clear, makes gimmicks a lot easier.
Also, what dragons were you considering, there ain't a lot left.

>Vilegirls' Enslaved/partner bonuses
I though those were meant to replace the Lust gifts, since Vilegirls had Corruption and Domination instead of Love and Lust, and that their "regular" gimmicks would be copied from other charts. Did we decide not to do that for some reason?

I think one good thing people have done is give players a choice between practical and lewd bonuses.

That's one of the surprisingly good things out of the /trash/ chart, the top bonuses are almost always something useful for your adventures as a knight; while the bottom one is always catering to a fetish or just general sexual performance.
It's similar with Idols, usually worshiped bonuses are more kingdom focused, while renounced effect you for more lewd bonuses.

Personally, I'd say this is why I rank Idols as my favorite of the bunch, they don't take up extra slots and give me a choice of what to pick. Dowries are the original, and pretty fun, but it gets frustrating that each one takes up the same room as a princess (fricken wizard). And the ideal of companions isn't bad, it just happens that G3 has more fun factionless companions than princesses. Also in that companion bonuses are based on stats, rather than personal choice.

I suppose the other main factor to take into consideration is that the gimmicks always say more about the princess as well. They give extra little bits of character and background to each princess.

Speaking of which, I am very curious to see what the gimmicks will be for Gat's Gen 4 and Gen 5 charts. He has said that he doesn't really look *too* closely at other fan charts, so as not to be influenced too heavily by others, but I wonder if he's given thought about the 'class' system introduced in gen 4 or the love/lust powers from gen 5. I'd imagine gen 4 of his would use lust/love point total to pick the bonuses, to match the wealth/power of gen 3.

>Also, what dragons were you considering, there ain't a lot left.
Linnorm, Olm, Ladon, Jorgumandr, Archaic (Dino-Dragon), Komodo

Currently, the only tentative "theme" that I have in mind is a sorta "Stuck in magic/cursed painting/portrait worlds" gimmick kinda like a mix between Super Mario 64 and Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin, where Sir Knight must travel into several Painting Worlds and brave thier dangers to save the Princesses.

I also have a tentative list of Princesses that will be in the Gen, being a mix of things I find cool, and my fetishes

That sounds really fun so far

Thats... Not how they work, though, especially not the partner bonus.

Enslaved requires you to widdle down their Dom and Resist stats so that you can order them around and get their bonus. You only need their dom widdled down to have them follow orders, but resist needs to be widdled down too so they don't try and fuck you over while doing what you ordered.

Partnering is another matter, as you need to earn the princesses Friendship I mean Loyalty in order to reap the benefits from that, as they won't partner with someone they won't trust.

If we didn't already have half-dragon princess for the Gen 4 exp, I would've recommended that for a painting world.
If your theme is artistic in nature, maybe do some research into ancient beasts that were known for the arts in mythology. Even though we usually have a 'dragon' as the dragon, if a different kind of mythological monster fits better in your chart, I'd say go with that.

Either way, painting worlds sounds really fricken cool. I'm excited to see how that turns out. Are you thinking of following the standard chibi-style for the princesses, or maybe do old fashion oil paintings for each princess's portrait? Maybe you could frame the paintings too. I think that'd be really nice to see if you can get the 'painted' look down right. Stuff like Mona Lisa or what not.

One idea for gimmicks could be different styles of painting or art in general for each princess? A bit heavy handed to the theme though.
Another way to come up with the chart gimmick is what is the 'dragon' after? Their motivation could be a good way to come up with ideas.

Ok, test 2 of the Vilegirls card structure. I condensed things a bit and added a little symbol to the bottom right to represent the princess.

Let me know what y'all think.

I say Jormungand, we don't have a serpent princess yet.

>Are you thinking of following the standard chibi-style for the princesses, or maybe do old fashion oil paintings for each princess's portrait?
I plan on Frankensteining other sprites together to make horrible abominations, just like I did with pic related, who's the inspiration for this all, all because I cannot into art. Yes, I understand the irony is someone who can't draw doing a painting gimmick gen

But yeah, I could try to find potentially a different mythological beast, but yet Dragons are my fetish, and it feels like I'm breaking tradition almost doing otherwise. And yeah, I know Stationgirls had Hive, but Stationgirls is a whole other genre all together

Oh, and thanks for the painting idea, I'll definitely have to use paintings for the card designs.

Jorgumandr, Ladon, Linnorm, and Olm are all serpentine in nature

>stuck in painting worlds
I'm totally expecting the Dragon Princess for this to be a pseudo-Priscilla.
Too bad we already used the Half-Dragon idea but hey-ho, we'll find something.

Put all the princesses on the spectrum, then. The visual one, that is. Or maybe, make the powers based on art styles? Anyway a combo of powers + kingdom modifiers sounds good for this gen.
Inspiration: Gen 2's idol bonuses usually affected your kingdom while the negatives affected you personally. Gen V had your kingdom gain landmarks... somehow... while the princesses granted a spell based on accumulated stats.

Ahh, I see. Painting gen made in paint (and powerpoint)

Also, Hi Chris.

>Anyway a combo of powers + kingdom modifiers sounds good for this gen.
I think I have an idea.

Destruction vs Incorporation.

You may choose to either destroy the painting that the Princess was rescued from, or you may keep it and gain access to the small world inside of it. Each will have its own benefit, with Destruction being primarily personal items/powers, and Collecting giving Resource/Kingdom modifiers.

Pic unrelated, but still one I wanted to post considering talking about paintings

She wouldn't be the Dragon, however I could potentally squeeze in a Priscilla/Painter reference if I try hard

Not my name

Hmmm, for bonuses, maybe have all the paintings they are stuck in go into your personal museum, or castle, or whatever. Get a princess and a nice piece of art to go with it. This painting (or its style) is what delivers the bonuses.

Then have the bonuses effect the culture of your kingdom. Is it known for capturing the beauty of the human form, or mastering post-modernism?

Abstract princess could be made from eldrich and other stuff, it'd be horrifying.

I almost want to agree with making the entire chart a rainbow, have it slowly go from red to purple. Only problem I see with that, is he's using paint and powerpoint only. So he can't do nice, easy hue changes like GIMP can. So he'd either spend a lot of time recoloring individual princess pieces, or he'd have to use specific princess parts only for each hue.
It'd also probably feel a little limiting and bland for a character to be all of one color. Some variation does wonders.

Your comment is also where I got the idea of each princess gives paintings/styles that paradigm shifts your kingdom's artistic culture.

As a graphic designer and a typographist, this template wounds me in many ways.

I'm not that user, but what would you make? Someone with experience in designing that kind of thing might have some better ideas.

>Destruction vs Incorporation.
Oooohhh, that's a pretty cool idea. Could either assimilate other culture, or destroy it. And the bonuses, personal for destruction and kingdom for incorporation, is pretty good way to split it. You've got me excited powerpaint user!
>spoiler
Shit, your right. Sorry Conner(?)

Rather than asking you how to improve it, I have a completely unrelated question.

What is your opinions on LaTeX and typesetting? As an engineer being forced to use it for all lab reports now, I find it fairly silly. On the one hand, I can understand the desire to set up a standard to be followed, but to me it feels like its not what we "want" or "need". Rather what old, dead guys told us to do and its become an industry standard.
Also, trying to force LaTeX into putting the image into the right location is often more trouble than just doing most everything in word and formatting it by hand rather than by code.

Am I doing this right?

-Chocolate Dicks-

> (1) Cream-Filled (Increases cum production for 10 minutes)

> (1) Rabbit-Shaped (Increase fertility for one sex session)

> (4) Bloomed (Increases size of body oart, or pair of body parts, your choice of what part, but not how big)

> (4) Maraschino Cherry (Increases seduction vs. females (doesn't effect dragons) for 10 minutes)

-First Tower-

> Goblin Princess

> Free Dowry - King's Crown (charisma boost causes lovers to waive unfaithfulness)

> Dowry 1 -Breeding Contract (own anyone you knock up)

> Lust Gift 1 - Stud's Draught (Produce an overflowing amount of seed that can impregnate anyone)

> Human Princess

> Dowry 2 - Heir's Coin (Gain a small fortune for every child)

>And thus, the Hobgoblin race was born

I mean, am I following the rules by taking a Lust Gift in addition to the other stuff? Is that allowed?

Yes, it is. The lust gift is for free

Sweet, I will continue on. Lets see how much I can min-max this.

I'm in the mood to do some writefaggotry. Any requests? I'm game for anything up to and including flat out smut.

How about Sir Knight teaching Dog Princess and Mimic Princess how to be nice to other princesses?

As long as lust is filled up all the way, you get the lust gifts/bonuses for free. It won't take up a cart slot. You can role play it so that you get it over time, if you feel like it. Or just hit them for all their fetishes to quickly raise it. Max lust princesses basically give it to you automatically. Its not too strict, most just assume you get it sooner or later.

In terms of everything, it all looks legal. 10 points worth of chocolate. 2 princesses, 1 free dowry, and 2 more dowries. Not too complicated as a CYOA.

Looks like you are good to go onto the next gen if you so choose. If you plan on doing gens 3 or 5, make sure to keep track of your base stat points. The sum of their bases are tallied up and used to determine which bonuses you get. You can also spend these points to get multiple worship bonuses, or idol powers from princesses you haven't rescued in gen 2.

Something with Lycan Princess.

Fudge and Rat Princess take Lycan out to eat dinner at a fancy restaurant. Lycan is reticent at first, but eventually starts to enjoy herself as the three of them enjoy a pleasant night out and Lycan learns to like fancy foods

Tell me, what qualities would you want/see in a Cossack Princess?

Maybe some post-adventure 'in the daily life' of sir knight and his court? In between any of the generations, while SIr knight waits for the next call to action. Your pick on princesses I suppose. Do some that you think could have an interesting dynamic between them.

That makes significantly less sense. Why have two different stats if they mean pretty much the same thing (or, like, the first and second "levels" of the thing)? And why have a "total domination" bonus in addition to the slave bonus, since you'd basically be doing both at the same time? And why have one option depend on both of the stats while the other is unrelated to them and relies on neither?

It seems like this design is trying to adhere to the standard Towergirls template but in an overly convoluted way. It would be simpler to just replace the Lust Gift with a slave/partner gift, since we've already replaced the Lust/Love mechanics.

Second Tower

> Demon Princess

> Lust Gift 1 - Writ of the Sire (for every child you have, you gain 100 soldiers for your army)

> Candy Princess

> Lust Gift 2 - Box of Choco Dicks (replenishes your bag of chocolate dicks)

> Hare Princess

> GM Princess

Demon Princess is self-explanatory, going to have lots of kids, so this will give me a huge, demon army.

Candy princess will let me get my choco dicks back, which will help with the fertility.

Hare princess wants a big family.

GM princess is just there because I want a fellow GM-friend, going to try and just be friends with her, cause I want a fellow GM-friend.

>> Candy Princess
Oh yeah, you'll be getting some dicks alright

Much appreciated, my man, thank you.

-Tower 3-

Wealth: 17

Power: 14

Merchant Princess

Idol, Goyvei, God of Merchantry (Worhsipped - Kingdom backed by a bounty of wealthy merchants)

Lust Gift 1 - Bronze Sack (Semen turns into coins when you orgasm at will)

Angel Princess

Idol, Dei, God of Pearls (Renounced - Gain demonic phallus with addictive cum)

Fairy Princess

Idol, Panthus, God of Trickery (Renounced - You begin to leak cum when you see someone you like)

Lust Gift 2 - Wearer's Orifices can be stretched beyond their limit without pain

Cat Princess

Idol, Verda, God of Sexuality (Worshiped (-1 Wealth) - Kingdom's Population Triples in Size)

Lust Gift 3 - Tinkling Bell (Flip sexual orientations)

Final Wealth - 29

Final Power - 24

Merchant Princess will let me min-max that cum-based wealth production, addictive cum will certainly aid in impregnation, the downside to the fairy princess only helps me in my unique case, and the cat princess is mostly for fun, although the population explosion and ability to turn lesbians straight will come in handy.

Don't tell me, she's a trap?

What all can amethyst gossamer be/take?

It specifically says "Replace with another princess' gift"

Does this just constitute lust gifts? (this is least optimal, since lust gifts occasionally get replaced with lust bonuses)

Or can this be any 'item' a princess can reward/gift a knight? IE. can this become a dowry from another princess? And of another princess's dowry from a different gen? So that I can get a specific item without rescuing the princess for it?

Also, how do you all interpret how this works? Does Drider Princess 'spin' the gift on a loom out of the stuff, or is it used to magically steal a gift?

>Don't tell me, she's a trap?
All I'm going to say is, look at Candy's lust icon, and reread the pros/cons.

Then also know that each gen has one.

Sorry mate, but you just fell for the trap

Holy shit, how did I not see that one?

Well, too late now. Also regretting not worshipping the fairy now, since having an obnoxiously cheerful kingdom out of some Saturday morning cartoon would be funny. Also, it doesn't say I get more cum, just that I'm leaking it, so probably not min-maxing like I could be.

Anyway, onto tower 4.

No problem, glad to help.

>Lets see how much I can min-max this.
Just as an aside. Since you are going for a 'baby boom build', would insect princess not be a good choice as well? Large quantities of spawn, plus some of her dowries helped with that if I'm not mistaken.

One thing you can do, skip one of the later gens (preferably the one you like the least/doesn't help for your build) and you get 2 free slots for one gen of your choice. My main run tends to skip gen 5 in exchange for more princesses/dowries in a different gen.

And yes, yes he is. Have fun with that.

The dowries in the first gen of towergirls were a fun one. But they were let down by the fact that they came at the cost of princesses, so you have very limited options, always found it weird people made new gens keeping the 8 slots, but didnt backport it to the early game where its far more useful than in the late game, where you already have alot of stuff.

G2's idols not taking up princess slots is nice, definitely think thats a nice way of handling things. The wealth and power bonuses for G3 I think are second worst gimmick. it requires a level of ordering everything correctly to get the bonuses you want specifically that arent fun. Its also not consistant what the tradeoff will be between, something practical for your quest, a kingdom bonus, a nice lewd effect, some kind of hybrid. The more interesting thing for that gen I think is that you can save cortiers and masters and such instead of princesses, two for every 1 princess, which i think is fun. Also the people the princesses will take with them in addition can be fun too.

G4s gimmick I dont enjoy too much, but it might be more fun to play with than it is conceptually. And I might just be biased cause I personally am not into the princesses though. but if youre 3 gens in and potentially a few expansion gens too, wouldn't you have a lot of princesses already, I mean if we're treating them as party members, you have options by this point. its not nessecarily even you get an ability, you get a specific class of party member from it, and I feel like that just doesnt jump out as that impressive. reading the charts again seems like stealing from the horde was moved to this gen though, so I guess I can accept that.

G5's gimmicks are actually pretty nice. Getting to chose between magic spells for your knight to get and getting nice areas with cool abilities is nice too. One of the better gimmicks

Holy crap this one took forever.
My latest Paint Abomination for my upcoming Paintgirls gen

Steppe Princess

I wonder what people would think if, for gen 1, each princess can take one dowry free. But if you want the second one as well, you have to let it take up a slot.
That way you can still get 4 princesses, but also get more dowries; cause dowries probably have some of the more interesting abilities of all the gimmicks.

I agree, gen 2 has my favorite gimmick, gen 3 is one of my less favorite gimmicks. I do like gen 3's factionless companions cause they are pretty cool and can be awesome bros, mounts, ect.
Gen 4's is pretty cool honestly. Just seeing the princesses able to do more than sit around. Kind of wish all princesses from every gen had 2 classes you could decide between. Its fun extra character to each. Its also nice to have princesses you can fight along side and become battle brothers with. Trial by fire. Love on the battlefield. ect.
Gen 5's is ehhh. Mainly I don't care for too many of the princesses. Landmarks are cool, but I dislike the lack of choice you get, similar to gen 3. Where its based on stats rather than choice.

Niiiice job. Love steppe girls. Very cute.

First gopnik princess, now this?
Slav gen when?

Good to know. That being the case, let us continue!

-Tower 4-

Skipped for 2 extra options

-Tower 5-

Holstaur Princess

> Companions - Milk Maidens (a group of holstauri tasked with milking the princess)

> Wealth Bonus (The maidens massage your princesses, increasing their milk production, and in turn increasing their breast size)

> Lust Bonus 1 - One gulp of maiden's milk turns you into a futanari, another turns you back

Rabbit Princess

> Companions - The Bunny Colony (The princess' many kids, they all rely on their mother)

> Wealth Bonus - Arranging marriages with other families is simple take an extra dowry from a gen I princess you have saved

> Lust Bonus 2 - You can be reborn as one of her kids, aging naturally as her favorite

Satyr Princess

> Companions - Lyrical Nymph Band (a group of musical spirits who provide background music)

> Wealth Bonus - The nymphs follow your every movement to ensure that your actions are accompanied by music

> Lust Bonus 3 - The more people in your personal orgy, the larger in volume your cum spray

Mouse Princess

> Companions - The Hourly Sisters (the eleven sisters of the Mouse Princess, they share everything)

> Wealth Bonus - The Hourly Sisters have built a mechanical stockade, to keep 12 prisoners in

> Lust Bonus 4 - The sisters build clockwork dildos that vibrate when it's a princess' turn to fuck

Nanny Courtier

> Super Nanny - No matter how many kids you have, she can ensure they are taught to be well-behaved and learned in your culture

Bard Courtier

> Bard's Ballad - The bard's songs aid you in seducing princesses, allowing you to increase their love and lust faster. It also eases tensions between different princesses

First three princesses are obvious choices. Holsataur is a FUTA, but sacrafices must be made for the kingdom. Took the Mouse Princess because, lacking other options that played into the build (that weren't traps), I figured her sisters would provide extra girls for breeding.

Can't wait to tally things up at the end and see how the kingdom looks.

Whats wrong with the structure? I want to make this as good as I can.

A sour candy coming home after a day of politics and having boy lick and ride his nice, big lollipop?

Wait, That's not how it works, i don't think it's been explained properly, actually.

I really like this concept desu

Not that user, but it seems like your test his credentials to allow him to critique which sounds pretty shitty of you. Instead maybe if you are just as skilled as him, could you also help fix this mess? Cause im not good as either of you but i know that this looks worse that the other template cards ive seen the others do.

Oh no, I'm completely sorry, that wasn't my intention at all.

I was honestly curious. I have the experience of a student, but I honestly wanted to know some of the theory behind it and WHY we learn typesetting like we do. In a more professional/business setting rather than just a towergirls card template setting. That's why I said my question was mainly unrelated.

I don't know very much about typesetting in all honesty. Like I mentioned, they make us LaTeX for lab reports and what not. LaTeX is basically a program that typesets *for* you. You type in some code, formatting and what not, along with the actual words and pictures you want; and it will spit out a 'properly' styled paper for you to turn in. I was wanting to know why there is such a thing as an 'optimal' layout, and how that even gets decided on. And if its more of a hold over from older generations or actually still useful.

As for my two cents, I'll reply to this.

Just as a base template. This is the exact same as normal tower girls, but with the princess on the right side instead of the left. This is largely so we can filter down all the fluff and look at the bare minimum layout. And compare to the current vilegirls card draft TEST 2.

Burgondy is name and kingdom.
Red is princess (Notice how it hangs OFF the card. Almost all princesses fall off their cards slightly. This frees up room for more stats and stuff on the card itself.)
Orange is pros and cons.
Green is their stats (dom, resist, and whatever else is in vilegirls.)
Sky blue is one bonus, dark blue is the other bonus
Grey is the 'fetish' part of the card, with purple being kinks, and pink being lust gift.

I suppose the biggest "problem" we have is putting princess on the right instead of the left. For western readers, or any native reader of a language that reads left->right, the natural inclination is to first look at the top left of a picture, then work your way to the bottom right. This was some theory I overheard about newspaper typesetting, so take my word for a grain of salt, but the basic principle makes sense. You want people to notice the most important part first, and typically one of the biggest parts about towergirls cards is the picture.
Of course, vilegirl user has stated that its a thematic/stylistic change to mirror the darker nature of vilegirls. As such, it can be excused. I bring this up simply to bring a point that there are a LOT of small things that most people don't account for.

If we divide the standard TG card into 3 parts we get the:
top - pictures and fluff. Where a lot of the personality is found, and what a lot of people like to focus on
middle - stats and crunch. ALL of the numbers and min-maxing is focused in this one segment.
bottom - the lewd stuff. While fluff and crunch can have lewd thrown in, this section is EXCLUSIVELY lewd stuff.

Forgive me for being a dense motherfucker, but there's no """actual""" way to play this? (Excluding the linked PDFs) I remember seeing this before but never properly checked it out.

I read the FAQ, but I'm still pretty confused.

They're CYOA images, so no; there is no official ruleset on playing, other than what is written on the charts. They're just guidelines for what to do, while leaving them open enough for you to decide on all the other details.

If you're talking about actual games there are two.
Subtitle pending and kingdom conquest. subtitle is SFW while conquest isn't. Both are very early in on development and will take a long time to be finished. I also believe there's something on steam, but i don't know much on that one. Though all of these are just based on the towergirls concept and none are the "official game."

The benifit to this system is that equal representation is given to the fluff, crunch, and lewd. Making them easy to differentiate to the reader, swallow as a reader, and focus on as a reader. You want to look at the fluff, you know right where to look. Want to figure out how to maximize your 'baby boom build' like our user friend above, you look into the middle. They don't overlap, and the fluff and crunch have roughly equal area of the card. Lewd stuff is in the bottom, so it can be easily overlooked if you aren't into it.

In terms of the TEST 2 card provided, here are my basic observations by doing this exercise of reviewing base of a TG card.

Lewd, fluff, and crunch are all mixed in with each other. We have the picture, stats and kingdom name all at the top, but it feels too scrunched in. The fluff gets less than 1/3 of the card, roughly. While the lewd is SPLIT. Kinks and turn offs are placed right below the pros/cons, forcing both of them to be smaller so they take don't overflow from the fluff section and into the crunch section. Meanwhile, the lust gift is at the very bottom. This already is a problem.

The crunch section feels a lot larger than it needs to be. Just from looking at concentration of text, you can tell that the pro/con + kingdom name + kinks all in that little box to the right of the picture is REALLY CRAMPED. Meanwhile, the crunch gets over 1/3 of the entire card to itself, leaving a LOT of room in between each of the 4 stats (the nice thing about stacking them vertically is they take up a lot less room), and the descriptions for the bonuses have a TON of white space all around them. The divider bar there is also wasting a lot of space. If the bonuses were layered on top of each other (blue and sky blue in my mock up) they wouldn't need the bar to be there to separate their descriptions.
Finally, the lust bonus at the bottom has a lot of room for very little text.

I guess I'm a little confused as to why the style needs to be changed at all. /trash/ has a slightly different style for their cards, but it's still mostly the same, isn't it? Why not just make the cards a little darker and call it good?

My final point would be the boarders.

You've already heard me complain about wasted space in the crunch section on TEST 2. But just as big a culprit is that torn up boarder of the card itself.

Shown in orange, are all the places that we simply can't use in the card. Due to the excessive tearing in the parchment of the card. Base towergirls cards DO have some nicks in them to give them depth. Its a good thing to have. But when you get carried away like TEST 2 has, you start taking up valuable real-estate for the actual important stuff. It makes the card as a whole feel too claustrophobic in the center, and around the fluff.

Do away with these. If you want to give the background of the card some depth, perhaps use a texture like stationgirls or 40k girls have done. Use a parchment background that has some smears and crinkles in it.
That way you still convey the idea and theme of being 'dirty', 'cruel', 'ugly', and 'vile' to the reader, without sacrificing too much of the actual substance of the card.

An issue of caution however, don't do something TOO complex or distracting. You want the background to bring the foreground to bare, not to overshadow it.

I hope I haven't been too obnoxious in this discussion. Again, I meant no offense to our typeset user.

Hopefully he comes back and gives some better advice than whatever I had to say.

where the fuck is my Chen and Goat Mom princess REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

I was complimenting the spells for Gen 5 more than the landmarks, though I do like those too. They arent really a choice, but neither were the people that came with the princesses in Gen 2.

If in the first Gen you got one dowry free but if you wanted the second it took a slot, I'd be pretty up for that. The dowries lead to interesting runs and strategies, and fetish potential really. But the tradeoff of you being only guaranteed one and then them sharing princess slots is too much I think.

Pretty sure toriel is on the undertale charts, speaking of, anyone have the latest versions of those?

In all honesty, It was more of me just doing an exercise to try and get an idea of what seems to works and what doesn't work. The style itself doesn't need to change, I'm just noticing various things between the two cards and giving my two cents as to what can be improved. I am just giving my feed back since the original user asked for it, and you asked me to provide my own reasoning as well. I'd like to hear other's thoughts as well, they'd probably be more informed than I.

Mainly what I noticed was:
>Text could be bigger in most sections. Maybe just 1 or 2 font sizes bigger. See if that makes the text more bearable to read.
>"Fluff" section is too crowded, while "crunch" has too much whitespace. Equalize the two.
>The layout of crunch in TEST 2 isn't bad, but there is some definite advantages to stacking them vertically rather than side by side. This'll probably be less of an issue if everything is brought just a bit closer.
> Move the picture so that it overhangs off the card a tad.
>Remove a lot of the rips in the paper, give the substance more real-estate.
> Finally, remove the lines. The two divider lines under the picture and between the bonuses. A bit of white space between them would be enough. If everything was boxed apart, like /trash/'s, it'd be fine. But only 2 lines in the entire card stands out too much.

Had to go several threads back to find a proper representation of /trash/ chart card. We need to save the full one somewhere. I don't feel like doing *another* analysis of their layout, unfortunately. They did a COMPLETELY different layout, not all of it I'd say is good. All of our side charts use the base towergirls card, and vilegirls is doing a very similar style. Unless vilegirls decides to make a layout as different as /trash/'s, I figure it would be best to compare it to the standards held by the rest of the side charts /twgg/ makes.

Is there any way to get /trash/'s full chart? I know they aren't quite done, but it'd be good to have what they do have complete on hand, even if it's just in the legacy album or something.

See if someone else has it saved somewhere, or check the booru and see if its there. I did a google search, and neither images nor archives had anything for me.

OK, Wow, I leave for dinner with the grands and come back to this much critism, holy shit.
I'll tackle each of these one at a time. (Card user here, BTW, just forgot to Namefag for it)
This is an interesting way of looking at a template. the top third is exacly the same as mine (The only reason the example princess didn;t do this was because I was being lazy with this test template), but but below that We run into a major problem; You've squished the stats too much. They're supposed to be from 1 to 5 in boxes, but a layout that thin would suit numbers better. Big reason I had them the Enslaved/Partnered bonuses side by side (Also, it also works in the inverse nature of Vilegirls kinda, so I'm just gonna claim that even though I only just thought of it).
Also, Vilegirls does not have lust gifts, so i don;t know what that is doing in the fairly small "Kinks" box.
Also, i'm not Vile user, just the guy making the cards.
As I said before, Vilegirls has no lust gifts, so the knife would go under crunch, not Lewd.
Also, fetishes can help give a girl more personality, so I would argue that it could be next to fluff. At least it looks better there then at the bottom like they were before.
I do agree that i should crunch the crunch and remove that line, though, good call on that last one. Gonna make those sides color coded.
Yea, Pretty much all of the stuff on the sides and bottom needs to go, I agree. Should have just stick to them being on the top and bottom to begin with, went massively overboard there. Thanks for pointing that out.
Also, what makes you think there weren't gonna be more then just those tears for the card paper? Definitely gonna be some smears on the end bits

Overall, while I get where your coming from, and thank you for the criticisms, most of it was not very useful because you were mis-informed about the nature of the ultimate treasure and assumed it was a lust gift.

I do not mean to offend, just point out why i can't use most of it.

Princess Discussion of the Day #48
Triclops Princess

Very cute princess with a very unique design adaptation. What are people's initial inferences about her size? She is supposed to be from a kingdom of giants but I never really imagined her being that large overall. Smaller than Amazon maybe.

She seems to have a magic third eye to dealing with beats, not often that you get three eyed girls. I can dig her being wild in the sack as well.

Her companions are good if you just need large beats for your kingdoms armies or construction/hauling projects.

For her wealth bonus, since you already get triclops and it mentions furs and milk I am assuming you get a variety of herds.

Same with power bonus, dinosaurs and beasts I am assuming it is a variety since you get default triclops to use normally anyways.

Very nice set of fetishes and her lust bonus, thanks to it saying beastfolk, works nicely in using it on other animal princesses.

No offense taken. I'm glad at least some of my commentary was useful. You are the one actually making the thing, so your call is final.

Like I said above, this started more as just a general exercise to explore the layout of towergirl charts in general. had most of the major things I was concerned about layout wise for TEST 2, and you seem to have picked up on most of those. So now I can wait to see how your next iteration turns out.

>(Damn the 2000 character limit)
Oh man you have no idea. On forums, I prefer to lurk more than anything. The only times I post I try to make it well thought and it tends to run on for a bit as I get everything on the table. Having to break that up every 2000 words is painful.

Darn it Phi, you are always doing this, posting these right before I decide to clock out for the nigh- morning.

Wooo! Time for one of my favorite princesses of gen 3. I honestly need to thank you though, these daily discussions have shown me previously overlooked gems. Its made me appreciate gen 3 a bit more than before.

>size
Usually 'giants' to me go in two directions. Either she's huge, Sir Knight reaching to her upper thigh maybe. Or Sir Knight reaches to around her rib cage or the bottom of her breast. More like the size of an ogre than a giant in this case, I guess. I prefer the latter due to personal taste.

I'd agree, her companions are one of my favorites, and provide pretty solid bonuses on top of already sounding cool as hell. War mammoths. Who doesn't want to ride on beasts of war?

Pretty cute pros/cons. I'm not too ferocious in bed, a bit sheepish too, but her kinks are still pretty nice.

And her design is fantastic. Eyes and horns work well, nice hair, tail, and steppe clothes are awesome.

Have a picture I didn't see in the booru yet.

Hehe, evil plan is working to get people on the discussions longer

Nice pic, I did not have that one yet.

Glad discussions are working to get people to look closer at princesses

I like the size options you picked as well
