Can someone give me a quick rundown on the dark elf core choices?
I think having a big block of corsairs and some dark riders could be cool, but I also really like the look of some nice regimented spearmen (spearelves?)

Soon for Total War

...

Only LL I plan on playing.

...

...

If my group is playing 8th, should we go with a 25% or 50% Lords and Heroes allowance?

...

...

Ariel in Total War when? I want to play as best couple

My pic folder needs more subfolders, the rate it's growing.

...

Apologies for the low resolutions on a lot of these, but I wasn't able to find bigger ones.

Vlad and Isabella are already in the game though, user.

Well, I was able to find a better resolution for the preceding, but all the labels were in french, which I can't read.

There any stories with this guy in them, just out of interest?

Does no one want to actually post about the game anymore, or is this just /artandvidya/ now?

Sorry for trying to keep the thread bumped.

It happens more occasionally than I'd like, but it still happens.

>apologizing to some fuckwit content police

Why don't we all just argue about canon for the next 300 posts?

Seriously though, fuck cannons.

...

She's hot.

just wait until they add canister shot to cannons.
modders already did that.
It is glorious.

...

I decided to put the Brothers Gottlieb images from Realms of Chaos: Slaves to Darkness into a gif, just as a bit of fun.

The Realms of Chaos books are some good shit.

Hello Anons, first time in the /wfg/ . Just started getting into Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay after picking up the humble bundle of it. From some cursory googling it seems like 2nd edition is the readily played edition (no idea if this is true). I've been enjoying it quite a bit so far. Some questions I have: I see zweihander is highly rated on drivethru rpg. How is it compared to WFR? and Are there any rules for things like being possessed by a god (like in the lore with that one high elven king guy)?

>From some cursory googling it seems like 2nd edition is the readily played edition (no idea if this is true).
Most people seem to prefer it to the third edition, which is quite different. The fourth edition might be coming out at some point (later this year or some time next year) and that's planned to be much closer to second edition. That might end up being popular or it might not, we'll see.
>I see zweihander is highly rated on drivethru rpg. How is it compared to WFR?
It is more complex and it's obviously not set in the Warhammer World. I'm personally not a huge fan, since it doesn't really improve on the things I'd have liked it to improve.
>Are there any rules for things like being possessed by a god (like in the lore with that one high elven king guy)?
I don't think so. There's some good material on religion in Tome of Salvation and some rules for possession by daemons in Tome of Corruption though (page 20, 22 of the PDF).

I've been using Shadow of the Demon Lord because a pair of my players didn't like Zweihander. They have yet to give me a real reason why though.

I'm making a pirate ship encounter themed around mutants with nautical mutations, and I'm looking for ideas, both to use existing mutations for nautical purposes or to create new ones.

Rattales, awoo!

back to /aosg/, shitposter-kun.

So THAT'S how Sienna looked when she was young. Damn, good thing Saltzpyre didn't see her then.

Metal, user. Thank you.

A surprisingly good source is the pirates of the carribean movie with the squid guy. Lots of weird ocean mutants.

New to lore, what exactly happens to Bretonnian boys that are sensitive to magic after they get kidnapped?

Yeah, the Davy Jones and his crew are the classic option.
The Pirates of the Caribbean movies are pretty fucking Warhammery, really.

In terms of canon, Aranessa Saltspite from Dreadfleet had conjoined legs with a fin before she amputated them.

Good point. I'm thinking things like spine-shooting pufferfish pirates, guys covered in barnacles that spew acid like a troll, dudes fighting with lobster claws and grappling with tentacles, maybe a leech-headed guy with the vampire blood drain ability. I'll prolly use octopussy up there, too - treat the giant anchor as a greatpick and have the chain dangling from the shaft act as a specialist version of the whip. Fill his tentacles with graven icons of Stromfels and give him the bear hug feature that bears get in the Kislev splat.

/SS/
They are taken as servants of the wood elves.

They get fucked until they're shooting blanks.

LEWD

>elf and lizardmen faces when Ogres are the true master-race of warhammer world being the epitome of old one genetic engineering

Bow to your masters

Realistically, they're probably sacrificed to wake up that Chaos mutant the wood elves worship as a god.

They get made into not!Grail Knights called the Sons of Bretonnia, sort of like a whole army of Lancelots.

FOR THE LADY

this artist is a godsend, I'm gonna go touch my dick now thanks for reminding me.

TW:W has been great for screenshots, gifs and generally capturing the look of WHFB. Have you taken or found any yourself? If so post them, whether they're funny or cinematic or whatever.

Why do their draichs look so short?

Is that what they actually look like in game?

Yeah, those are WAY too short.

They're holding them sideways. They look larger in game.

Yes.

>They look larger in game

Rather, they look larger from a better angle.

I've seen a lot of good ones. My own never turn out as good, unfortunately.

Ogre supremacy inbound.

She is norscan also.

Wait; so magic in Warhammer is like Force Sensitivity in Star Wars?

This might be the best one I've got so far.

...

...

...

It's like force sensitivity in the original trilogy, in that anyone can learn it, but very, very few have the dedication to keep at it.

From Realms of Sorcery:

>Using magic is like trying to grasp a naked, razor-sharp blade that is alive in some way, thrashing and twisting in one’s hands from the moment it is grasped. Everyone would have the potential to learn how to hold such a blade, but only the very strongest, determined, and naturally dextrous would keep their fingers long enough to be able to put any theories of how to use it into practice.

Does this apply to divine spellcasters?

...

Damn I've never watched Tyrion and Malekith fight in game. I didn't know they had animations this detailed, especially that final magical explosion Malekith does. Cool stuff.

This just makes me wish they were in webm form.

Sienna getting a new weapon.
two levels like Stromdorf (Reikwald forest and the River Reik)

>"You're not gonna believe this, but one of my lads has pinched some... books... I've been keeping close. He's fled down the River Reik, and the skaven are in hot pursuit. I need you to join the chase, and get him before they do." - Lohner

Yes.

This title is mess.

Don't you mean midichlorians?

...

Force sensitivity. Yes.

...

Midichlorians aren't the only thing. They're just a bridge between the user and the force.

Who's the artist?

Karond Kar

Dreadlord(female) on Black Dragon musters the host before the assault.

50% is more flexible as it allows you to include some of the more expensive special characters and build your generic ones a bit more decked out. However if you like to make hard choices 25% might be more your cup of tea.

Instead of whining why don't you try to be more productive by starting up a conversation? Surely you must have some relevant questions or suggestions to make.
I for one would like to know what people think about fielding Warriors of Nurgle with GW instead of the traditional halberds. Sure, you lose the capacity to strike first but against Elves that is the already the case.

You are born with the gift of magic, you can't learn it.

That's ableist.

I asked a question and no one said shit. Same thing happens whenever anyone talks about the game.
In regards to GW, they are pretty decent if you are going for Nurgle, as their toughness lets them survive long enough to start dealing some damage.

Not sure how many people are showing up asking about WFRP2 because of the Bundle, but I'm another guy who picked it up and has been looking it over. I get the feeling that they had a lot of plans they never got the chance to implement (the Empire book talks about 'future supplements' talking about elves that it doesn't look like ever got made). But, looking at the troves, I see a crap-load of material, which I assume is all fan-made (unless the game had really strong 3rd-party support, which seems odd). Is any of it particularly good, or worth looking at?

Thanks for the cancer.

They get sacrificed to Kurnous. I think this is the only real lore we got, everything else is just fanfiction.

Wait....so the Bretonnians accidentally worship an Elven goddess....but the elves next-door worship a chaos mutant?
Random fanon, inter-faction bitching, or actual End Times asspull?

It's just /v/ermin calling Orion a beastman.

I'm presuming part of the deal with GW decides that.

Vermintide: Death on the Reik is fine it's just all the warhammer tm end of times tm shit that ruins it.

We got a lot of new people interested in the lore they know little about. You can't just lie like this.

I'm grateful for all the new memes they bring.

They are taken as servants, unless you are reading old lore (which is no longer canon). /ss/ is only a fun meme. You need to relax user.

They are "sacrificed to kurunos" which means either killed, or mindraped into wild riders

Yeah, let's spread this fanfiction since some /v/-tards can't know any better. I rather count on peoples stupidity than someone new to the lore to differentiate between memes and canon.

Since someone else here must still be playing the game, I'll do a battle report of my yesterday game. 3k points, Wood Elves vs Lizardmen.

My rooster (WE) was:

Glade Lord on dragon, enchanted shield, 4++, asrai spear

4th level mage, shadow lore, with earten rod

2 lvl mage, fire lore, dispel scroll

Waywatcher

BSB on a steed, with armor of destiny shield and asrai spear

18 glade guards with hagbane

15 guards with hagbane

15 guards with trueflight

6 treekin

11 wild riders with +1 movement banner

2 Treemen with roots.

Lizardmen rooster was:

Slann loremaster of high magic, with the channeling combo (3d6, channeling on 5+)

Saurus hero

2 lvl 1 Skinks with empireal lore, one with the cube, one with the dispel scroll

2 blocks of 35-sih saurus

1 big block of temple guards

2 salamander

2 ancient stegadonts.

Lizardmen player goes first, which is quite shit for him since he risks charges from the dragon and the riders. He maneuvers the stegadons around to get a firing position on my troops.

His magic phase is strong, forcing me to dispel a Fire Invocation on my 18 glade guards (with the 2 mages).

My turn, the Riders manage to charge one of the stegadont, the Dragon tries to charge a salamande (which flees), and then redirects on a saurus unit (failing the charge).

Treekin and treemen move to intercept the saurus and temple guard blocks, and to get into shooting range.

Magic phase he blows one dispel scroll on my Mindrazor, the temple guard unit is reduced to a crawl by the Miasma (m1)

Superb shooting phase, poisoned shots and
strangleroots blow up a stegadont. The cherry on the top is that one of the saurus blocks fails the panic test and flees out of position.
The other archers deal some light damage on the temple guard.

Wild riders only deal 3 wound to the stegadont, which rolls a triple 1 to stand his ground

>I asked a question and no one said shit. Same thing happens whenever anyone talks about the game.
Well then, there you have your answer. Most people in this general aren't that interested in discussing the actual fantasy game any more. It' s a shame but what you can do.
>In regards to GW, they are pretty decent if you are going for Nurgle, as their toughness lets them survive long enough to start dealing some damage.
Yeah this was my thinking aswell. In a game against anything that isn't elves I probably wouldn't bother with GWs as halberds are enough of a hard hitter without also losing the great I that warriors bring to the table.

Nope.

Though for humans, the time it'd take to learn magic if you're not naturally inclined (basically a prodigy) is longer than you'll be alive. Even among prodigies, a goodly number will never be able of anything more complex than an apprentice's tricks.
