How do I run flyers without making everyone around me hate me?

I've been wanting to do a mix of Elysian Drop Troops and Storm Troopers, and going that route cuts me off from having any real artillery beyond heavy weapon teams with mortars, so I was thinking of taking some Vultures or Avengers or something to make up for my lack of Basilisks and Manticores and fit with the theme of the army, but I guess flyers are pretty stigmatized?

In my experience, razorwings aren't that amazing, but watching batreps, taking them in groups seems to work fine.
It's hard to say though, cus ravagers are already pretty mobile, and will never really be out of range of anything.

Personally, I'd go with ravagers for the raw firepower.
The splinter rifles and missile on the razorwing seem unreliable at best.

A ton of companies keep doing this because they believe that following along with the cultural pressures and pandering to what they see as a potential new market, with varying degrees of success or failure. it's not about the range of the guns. it's about being forced into a decision to move the thing. Every once in a while when i run them i run into a problem where i'm forced to move into range of something i don't want to be near. (melta or a FMC)

Don't run too many of them. Run a mostly infantry army with some close air support, not an airborne cavalry force.
