Which is the easiest army to play?

Aren't Nobs in a naut actually good now?

who else here /progressive/

Cadian gunline.

Of fucking course I post in the thread right as a new one gets made. Anyways, rate my general use list?

Raven Guard, 1991/2000pts, total CP = 5

Imperial Knights

Where would one be able to get their hands on some mini Pickelhaube helmets to put on my Guard

>Raven Guard
WAAC

>12 agressors
but why? i'm going to use my las-havoks to make you my little bitch
>x5 Vanguard Veterans, Jump Packs, dual chainswords for everyone
at least but SOME power axes, there so god-damn cheap now

I like Aggressors. As for the axes, I do have some spare points. Maybe I'll at least try to squeeze one in for a sergeant

Is everything WAAC these days?

>using half your CP on a chaper master
::Thinking::

your making like tyranids what is wrong with you

>Posting list online for constructive criticism and review
Waac as fuck m5

Did they post a tutorial anywhere for how to make those shiny new Savlar Chem Dogs?

I know what the parts are and shit, but I wanna know if they use other guardsmen legs so I don't have to buy shit tons of commander legs along with the Neophyte chest pieces.

Let me guess. You're going to use that stratagem that lets you deepstrike before round 1 to set up your aggressors right next to the opponent's army, huh? You a WAACer!

How do I get a good number of combi plasma/melta for Blightlords?

Only 1 of each in the kit.

Probably pure khorne.
>step 1: run forwards in a straight line
>step 2: hit things with axes

>I like Aggressors
yeah, they are fun, but taking twelve is pretty crazy, espcially when you basocally have no anti-tank (autocannons dont count)
Guard is going to make you cry if they bring more than one russ (which they will)

Ditch the apothecary
Aquire one more scout squad
Put chaplain in first detachment
You now have a brigade, and a unit that will do more than an apothecary.

Is there an exact list of which Legions are basically the opposites of each other? I've always thought of it like this.

>Dark Angels - Alpha Legion
Because I and XX
>Blood Angels - Emperor's Children
Jump Packs, Pretty Primarch
>White Scars - Thousand Sons
The cultured Legions
>Imperial Fists - Iron Warriors
Obvious
>Space Wolves - World Eaters
Both the "Rip and Tear" Legions
>Iron Hands - Death Guard
Both tough as shit
>Ultramarines - Sons of Horus
The posterboys
>Salamanders - Word Bearers
Both love fire
>Raven Guard - Night Lords
Canon

>What is a bitz box
>what are bitz sites
>what is ebay

>>what are bitz sites
Highway robbery?

Buy more kits of course. GW made that choice even easier, as the combi weapon bits are resized enough to be too small for a normal gun, and too long for the pistol variants

>White Scars
>cultured legion

What did he mean by this?

Imperial Fists best Legion

At least switch dread for Contemptor Mortis with lascannons to get some actual anti-armour

You know you've got to have 50% of your models deployed, right?
Combine Vanguard Vets and maybe you can Raven Guard stratagem a squad of hellblasters or aggressors close to the enemies. No idea, didn't count

>I like Aggressors
They seem fine but they're expensive, drop some and get more actual anti-armour

This

West wind productions does some

Puppets war has some as well i think

Fluff reasons. At least the aura's useful

Just trying to cover bases for my first army. I don't mind losing but I'd like to not end up being the punching bag, or at least not feel like I wasted my money

Well it's an option I suppose. At least I have the option of an ambushing offense or use it to easily steal objectives

Anti-tank is something I've been struggling with since the list started. I might trim or cut the Flamestorm Aggressors to make room for something else with more oomph

I've been pretty on the fence about the Apothecary, but this sounds like a good reason to drop him. Thanks user

lowest infantry sized model count army?

You really don't want the infographics to flood in.

>not knowing the White Scar's fluff
This has got to be bait

You got one right.
Rest are out the window

Grey knights

>Third Reich
>Picklehaube
People seem to mix up their World Wars a lot.

Deathwatch or GK. With DW, you'll end up spending more points on gear than your dudes, probably.

I personally am tired of WW2 everything. I wanna learn about the Great war dammit

Reminder that promoting the pointless opinions of irrelevant people "ironicly", still promotes them.

> which legions are the opposite of each other?
> opposites
> proceeds to arrange then in similar pairs
You are a retard

At least 2 of them are canon.

Alpha legion is opposed to the ultramarines.

The most triggering thing is that the Marine calls her Sister but then she replies with Bro. Like at least be consistent with your names

I finally want to into the tabletop. Is Adeptus Custodes + SS a good starting army? I like the models, but do they play well on the table?

I meant opposites as in opposing. Probably should have used a better term.

The DA and AL Horus Heresy rules are arranged to mirror each other. Also, both had their legions split by the Heresy.

I've checked lots of sites, no luck.

Sad.

will look into it. Are death watch a real army though? Or will they be treated like scions.

Dan Carlin has an excellent podcast called hardcore history, which has a six part series about ww1 that serves as an introduction and general overview of the history.

Either Knight or some brain dead army like marines or Khorne

he charges for podcasts though, just put an audible ad in ya weirdo.

Magnus the red was awfully blue back in the day

Small armies are easy to outmaneuver. Go for something with bigger numbers. Eldar and most flavours of Marines are good options for having decent numbers, but without going overboard.

melee SOS are quite good.
No idea about custodes I don't know anyone who actually has any.
they're not a whole army you'll need a Yourdudes inquisitor and some other stuff too.

I think "the Red" used to refer to his hair.

If you're just grouping mirrored traits then it's Raven guard/alpha legion.

They had a lot more units with kits
3 HQ, vets, bikes, assault, termies, transports and unique flier.

They're bad right now. SS are good only for fighting psyker-heavy armies, average at everything else. Custodes are 60pts a model, which is horribly overcosted for what they bring to the table.

I think the ww1 is available for free.

Damn...
I was really looking forward to some WW1 history

Nah, Raven Guard is literally Night Lords with Corax tempering them according to the HH series.

Just buy one titan. Don’t worry about painting it.

You might need to buy a second bus ticket to get it to your LGS though. If the driver is nice he’ll let you buy a child’s ticket and you can sit it next to you.

Or you could get one of those baby carriers and pretend you’re a big dreadknight.

yeah that was is free it seems, I just remember the one I wanted to listen to cost money.

With the exception of clear ones like the IF/IW, I think most legions have more than one mirror. For example, the raven guard are mirrored by the night lords (jump packs) & alpha legion (tacticool). The world eaters are mirrored by the space wolves & blood angels. The luna wolves/sons of spikyhorse have mirrors in night lords & blood angels, in that all 3 are drop assault specialists (with a tendency toward brutality). And so on.

SoS are so strange. They are stuck in an worst Rhino. Are super expensive for what they do when compared to other anti-psyker and/or melee unit in the index

Oh so you're using lore now. Then it's alpha legion/ultramarines

AL saw themselves as Ultramarines Rivals.
As did Word bearers.

Few easy pairing as theres opposites/paralels in combat, grudges and "mirror darkly" between loads of them.

>infantry sized

>Or you could get one of those baby carriers and pretend you’re a big dreadknight.

Primaris Marines with Ultramarine Legion Heads?

y/n?

I'm not a big fan of Mk-IV-like Mk X helmets, should I use Forgeworld Legion heads for Ultramarines instead or would that look shitty?

Try it out, there's a bunch for free that are great. And any new ones he makes he keeps free on his site for a while.

...

> alpha legion rules
> pick your special rule as special rule, rites of war can fuck with reserves, steal special units
> DA rules
> bare bones as fuck, need to use EXTREMELY restricting rites of war to gain good bonuses at the cost of flexibility
user you have no fucking idea what you are talking about. All your posts confirm this

What is the best colour scheme and why is it the UM's?

>inb4 WAAC
Help me perfect my Raptors and IG army
Lias uses his ability to infiltrate the Raptors that can't scout, basically giving them Deep Strike while the IG SpecWepTeams, Vets and HQ ride in Valks.
I haven't decided on IG being Tallarn yet; mainly using them as a placeholder since they'll make the Valks ignore heavy.

>Covenant of Death: If your opponent finishes the game with more units than you they get D3 victory points.
>Martial Hubris: If the Alpha Legion suffers more units destroyed than the foe, the enemy gains +1 VP.
Really?

Those Marines have tiny faces.

post face bitch

Doctrines don't work on fliers

it goes
space wolf v tson
imperial fist v iron warriors
iron hands v emp child
ultras v word bearers

The rest do not have proper rivals.

>Angron used to look like regular bloodthirsters look now
>regular bloodthirster used to look like some cooky red wizard.
>the cooky red wizard had a dwarf haircut, dwarf legs, blue skin and gorilla arms holding on to a stick
>The great unclean one is literally just some normalscale nurgling which snuck into epic to pretend to be a big boy for once.

I love these models if only for their comedic strangeness.

>Raven Guard
Why is it ALWAYS Raven Guard?

Meh, my tanks still hit you on fours and wound on 2s, so it's not that bad. Just... ALWAY Ravens. In other news you're AT is lacking. Unless your fighting nothing but blobguard I recommend some Lascannons

Go look up Trench Fighters. Their greatcoat legs are better than GW's and more varied.

Forgot to mention I'm considering removing two scout HB to make the third Scout squad into Tacs and use the Raven Guards Strike From the Shadows stratagem to infiltrate them
>-2x HB and 1CP
>+1 armour save

You're right, they're not , damn
Any recommendations which reg I should go for instead?

This.
One could argue thematic paralels between the batman/manbat pairs and the blood for the blood good/emperor
And i guess neither AL or Khan played by the rules.

That still leaves Bromander and Horus.

Shit iunno I just liked the chapter tactic the most. As for anti-tank I'm working on it. I just don't really have a good baseline for how much I need in general

You must have some plasma weapon lying aroud? if not you can use green stuff moulds to copy the one in the blight lords kit, there are plenty of guides online

Shit you're right they look good.

Well, with that out of the way I may as well ask my next question. Which Doctrine would suit the Savlar fluff the most? I'm thinking Catachan cause of the +1S lines up with their use of chems.

Its free on youtube

youtube.com/watch?v=YFMT_BVBBsA

It depends. The Catachan Flamer Order makes sense. As does the Valhallan doctrine (Chems make them fearless)

At 2000 points you need to be capable, in theory, of killing at least 1 Leman Russ tank in the first turn. The stat line is
T8, W12, Sv3+.

Right now all you have are hellblasters and they are insufficient even overcharged. Here, let me show you:
12 wounds/2 damage per unsaved wound*6/5 unsaved wounds*2/1 hits that wound*3/2 shots that hit= 21 overcharging hellblasters required to kill a Russ. Waaay to many, though getting to rapid fire range can help.

Thanks, that kinda helps

I found it on his website. But thank you anyways user

After the last few threads, am I the only one suspicions of "Admech players"?

I mean the ones that post Admech are chill af and one of about 3 armies that paint their dudes, but I'm seeing a lot of people shill for guard, CSM, and realltvany army but when they're called on their bullshit always say to back off, they don't even play (x), they play Admech

Is Admech becoming the throwaway "shit need to look impartial" liar's army?

Yeah, because the recent codex was shit. If eldar is a flop then you'll see them should to eldar.

admech players are awful because they speak in binary on this board.

Hellblasters are ap4.

No no, I mean Admech players themselves seem nice, but I'm suspicious that because of this people from hated armies (like I said, guard, chaos, Tau, etc.) lie and say they play Admech as an excuse to look impartial

Look through the last through threads, there's like 4 or 5 examples of people getting BTFO and called out for army/lore bias only for them to conveniently play Admech

Yeah that's a bit of a coin flip. Valhallans might be better because it also talks about how resourceful they are, so I imagine that could explain why they're vehicles keep up their pace and stuff.

Thanks user.

Any advice on tournament play? I usually don't do that because of the waac aspect, but I'm thinking it's going to be the best way to find games now.

Honestly, you should try running them with each of the two, see which one you like best.
