Second for I can't decide on an army so I'm going to kill myself.
Christopher Hughes
Craftworld female orks when???
Thomas Williams
Xth for best legion coming through!
William Edwards
What do you like in an army? Which models are appealing to you?
Elijah Bennett
Do a backflip!
Jacob Phillips
I want: >Not marines >Footslogging >Low to moderate model count >Easy-ish to paint. >Tough
Austin Roberts
As much as I dislike MtG nowadays, they did one thing right: the player psychographics.
Spike: Likes to win, will use most effective stuff to do so Johnny: Likes to use combos/underutilized cards(units) Timmy: Likes big things or to win in a big way
I think that 40k has been so polarized that anything other than taking a Timmy style list results in you being worse than Stalin. We need to bring things back to reality a bit
Julian Adams
9th for dark eldar
Michael Parker
What are the other new start collecting boxes? Only seen the tyranids one so far
Aaron Moore
Anyone here have a subscription with any 'On Demand' channels?
I support Winters on Patreon and MWG. Quite happy with both.
Gavin Sanders
Hey team
I've been away from the hobby for maybe ten years. I came back in for a few months at a time but never stuck with it, and then again when AoS came out. I had fun with it, but couldn't find games in my area very easily.
I'm being told "new" 40k is like AoS but better, and AoS was its trial balloon to work all the bad rules out or something. That sounds nice to me.
A) Is the game faster than before and simpler to set up/play as advertised? I wish I had the time to grognard through all the rules but when I did that in 7th I couldn't keep up with it due to work etc.
B) Are Dark Eldar or whatever their new name is any fun to play at the moment? I'd like to use my old models, at least at first, and don't want to get the wrong impression of the game if I'm using an underdeveloped army or a shitty-powered force
Anthony Baker
A.yes B. Extremely yes
Christian Jenkins
Necrons
Jose Harris
Are Gargoyles any good? I heard that they are just a waste of money. Maybe I should buy a Tervigon and some more termagants?
Christopher Roberts
Eldar
Julian Brown
>Not marines Necrons aren't Marines >Footslogging Necrons love to slog on robofeet >Low to moderate model count Necrons aren't a swarm >Easy-ish to paint. Necrons ARE Easy to Paint: the army >Tough Necrons are "Tough"
Sounds like you want Necrons
Andrew Kelly
Either tons of fodder in uniforms or a few hyper-elite demigods of warfare, or both mixed together. Extremes only.
Lucas Stewart
Once more for a new thread.
If I made a homebrew Eldar Corsair full Codex update for 8th, would anyone care?
(specifically, I made it already. If I posted it, would anyone care and/or give feedback?)
Bentley Hall
Just Nids and CWE which are the two factions getting books in November.
Alexander Wright
Looks like the new Craftworld Eldar box is right up your alley. Choosing your own craftworld would make it easy to paint, its relatively low model count, and I think wraith-units are tough-ish.
Christopher Nelson
It seems like Necrons are perfect for what I'm looking for, but their fluff is just so boring. It's so wishy-washy after the 5th ed reboot, to the point where I don't even know what the fuck they want anymore.
Levi Evans
I actually haven't found it to be faster. But rather less tedious. That may have more to do with the conversations I have with my opponents as we play, but the fact that we don't FEEL like the game is taking forever is more important to me than if it is.
Dark Eldar? Never played them, never fought them. Can't tell you jack.
Jaxson Diaz
Get out of here GW
Brandon Ward
Seeing as I'll never have to play or ever meet you, No I don't care about you or anything you do off the board.
Bentley Sanders
A Took weeks to go through 7E rulebook while you can burn through 8E in an evening
Make your own fluff. Fluff and tabletop can be enjoyed separately
Easton Diaz
They're good for following flyrants around to prevent it from taking a icarus array to the face.
Isaiah Turner
Xenos whores must be exterminated Eldar are for purging, not pumping
Easton Cook
>don't even know what the fuck they want anymore. They're angry old men that want those damn kids off their lawn. And by "kids" I mean every sentient species and by "lawn" I mean galaxy.
James Allen
Your other options are just going to be specialized portions of an army. Such as Ork Dread Bash or an Eldar Wraith army. So you'll have to decide what's most important to you.
Tyler Harris
What's in the new SC! Box?
Henry Clark
Sisters of Battle.
Caleb Bailey
AlphaStrike >Trygon, Genestealers, Broodlord
2Spooky4U >Farseer on Foot, WRAITHguard, WRAITHlord, and WarWalkers
Thomas Wright
...
Aaron Morgan
I hope that T'au won't get a new SC with their codex released - it's probably the best SC box right now
Elijah Howard
I thought the omnicidal aspect went away with the reboot? Like, they're all sapient now?
Brayden Scott
Played my first game against my catachan friend with his new book. I feel lucky he's not a douche, because optimized waac guard seems really gross. We tried that one trait that allows command point stealing/saving and I think he started with 7 cp and spent like 15 by turn 7. I really enjoy the catachan flavor they've added - the traps strat killed a marine or two and s4 guardsmen are actually dangerous.
Lost 6-7. Leman Russes and Basilisks are brutal now, can confirm.
Asher Myers
Reposting. How would an Undivided warband with a policy of no sorcery work without losing favor from Tzeentch?
Andrew Morris
Necrons, Tau battlesuit list (once Codex drops, maybe FSE will support that), Nidzilla.
Camden Hernandez
Best part of Necrons. Some did some didn't.
The Destroyer Cults still are on a Kill All Living murder spree.
But you also can have more diplomatic factions with Tryzan and Nemessor Zandrake.
Joseph Hughes
Alternatively are Inquisition better allies instead of TG? I only ask because they go to ride in the Thunderhawk unlike the guard.
Luis Sullivan
Tzeentch is more than LOL!MAGIC He's Change. Hope. Deception, Schemes
Christopher White
Champions and Choosen of Tzeentch?
Robert Rodriguez
hai greyfax
Charles Brown
Less bullshit, especially where USRs are concerned. Can't speak for how fun Deldar are but they seem in a decent spot.
Adam Reed
Easy solution, my man: /yourdudes/.
Camden Price
>two almost fully-painted armies on a table with mostly painted and matching terrain
Is this 40k? I'm not sure.
Dominic Jenkins
Which army should I start after I finish collecting Death Guard? Looking for something different, both aesthetically, colour scheme and in terms of paint techniques needed, as well as mechanically
>Dubs chooses my new army
Ayden Hill
T'au. Don't be a pussy that gives a fuck about memes
Owen Perez
Gonna be starting an Eldar army when the new start collecting drops. Post cool color schemes.
Xavier Richardson
I'd say. It covers pretty much everything, especially if you're willing to proxy XV8s for Commanders. Maybe lacking in Stealths, but the Optimized Stealth Cadre box covers that.
Aiden Diaz
I kinda feel like the best counter to russes is to tag them in melee to waste their turn, ideally with a reasonably expendable unit that can negate overwatch or charge from out of line of sight. Not really sure what fits that bill. Maybe scouts?
Also, kinda disappointed in the land speeder this edition. Tried one out with two heavy flamers- felt weak and difficult to make its points.
Asher Harris
So, if I want to make Death Guard, I either use their codex and get a very specific force, or I use the CSM codex, don't get to call them DG but a generic legion with Mark of Nurgle, and pretend to be DG?
Other than "fuck you, gib monies", what reason is there that some options are excluded from the DG codex?
Lucas Gomez
undivided doesn't necessarily mean they have the favour of all he gods, usually it means they simply haven't devoted themselves to a single god. Maybe they worship a daemon, maybe they don't worship chaos at all and just acknowledge it's existence. Also bear in mind that Tzeench is more than just magic, any ambitious schemer could draw its eye
Owen Gray
Aspect Eldar or Mechanized (Not MECHanized) Tau.
Jeremiah Howard
Boom. Nurgle sez do it!
Brayden Reyes
Friendly reminder that Voldus is worse at Smiting than a run-of-the mill Ork Weirdboy.
Brandon Brown
Which fucking one
Easton Long
Is your DG infantry heavy or balanced?
Evan Mitchell
Not me
But Infantry
Ryan Perry
His head is far less explodey though. Ork collective psychic energy is a hell of a drug.
Jonathan Adams
People were asking why I got fw banned at my store, and insulting me for it in the last thread. Fuck you cheesers.
I got fw banned because it's overpowered bullshit that was ruining games. My dad, the store owner wasn't making much money from it either.
Aiden Foster
I am aware of that but I also didn't want to go for the just as planned angle either. Eh could work.
Adrian Gray
You're not restricted to using one codex or the other. So long as the keywords match up you are welcome to use both
Isaiah Hall
This. My Dudes are the Khnurum Dynasty. When they awoken, they were like Trazyn, willing to ally with humans, which happened when a Waaagh reached their system. But just as the Orks were on the verge of defeat, the humans instead turned their attentions to fighting nearby Eldar.
So the Overlord decreed that non-Necrons are not to be trusted and must be eradicated. So now they're gathering Necron WMDs to purge the living.
Nolan Hall
It's the mysterious and elegant "basement gaming with close bros" meta.
Luis Scott
On demand channels arw getting shut down on youtube user, i support tabletop tactics though xoxo
Lucas Miller
I'm not sure we have enough information then. Are you saying you want an undivided war-band that included characters/units with the tzeench mark or are you just asking how undivided war-bands work without trying to please tzeench?
Luke Wright
The DG books reflects the specific tendencies of the Death Guard forces. It's no different from the Dark Angels or Space Wolves codex specific codexes in that regard. Plus you can always do a death guard force out of the death guard book and then ally in Nurgle Marked forces from the CSM book. If you're worried about fluff use the Renegade tactic for your CSM stuff and have them be Nurglings aligned Renegades following the Death Guard proper.
Connor Lee
Admech. Is two Neutronagers enough for 2k, or should I get three or four? I can't really tell, since I am Stygiesing in 20 Electros who can probably do some punching of tanks as well but don't have a huge amount of other AT. 3 Grav Destroyers, two Dakkastelans and a couple Dragoons ramming Taser lances, but they're opportunistic light AT at best
Jaxon Stewart
So how the fuck do I start Aspect Eldar?
I've basically never looked at collecting or building them before, but dubz is dubz. I know lots of their infantry has lots of really outdated sculpts
I'm aware of Aspect as a concept, but I don't know who's who and why and how
Nicholas Hill
You cannot choose Death Guard as the tag for models in the CSM book.
Joshua Long
I'm trying to go for a warband tries to keep favor with all four gods but without the usual methods of keeping favor with Tzeentch(magic and plotting).
Luis Powell
Hope the codex makes you better, the only troop aspect is ridiculously overcosted. like 19ppm for a t3 4+ model that overwatches good and has a 2 shot 12" s4 rending weapon.
Jose Adams
So, if I want to make Blood Angels, I either use their codex and get a very specific force, or I use the SM codex, don't get to call them BA but a generic chapter "Sanguine Angles", and pretend to be BA?
Other than "fuck you, gib monies", what reason is there that some options are excluded from the BA codex?
Ayden Ward
Are you looking for a fluff army or something competitive?
Kayden Thomas
Well Mechanized Eldar will provide you with large clean surfaces for vivid paintjobs rather than the cluttered and dirty look of DG.
Wraithlords, Vypers, Fire prisms all have elegant swooping contours for patterns, freehand or gradient color shifts.
Sebastian Jackson
Games feel faster simply by virtue of tabling being much more common by turn 4. , Deldar better than they've ever been mainly due to changes to the game than being OP.
Zachary Price
>using daddy to ban anything that beats me :(
Christopher Young
Generally 2x10 Avengers, a Autarch, 1 of each aspect, pile on cool looking shit after that.
Levi Brooks
>Humans fight Orks >Necrons okay with this
>Humans defeat Orks and then go on to fighting Eldar >Necrons upset by this?
And why is that? The Necrons hate those pointy ears.
Nathaniel Kelly
Id be interested user
Camden Ramirez
I just entered a tournament with some weird restrictions on: -1000p list -Two detachments at most -All units from same army (Codex SM in my case) -No codex stratagems or relics, but chapter tactics and warlord traits are ok -You can take forge world
Any suggestions? desu I've not been enjoying 8th so far. Every unit, tactic or formation I liked now sucks, is too costly or cannot be done at all. So I´m a bit lost making this list.
Joshua Morales
Always fun
I don't really get to play because my job is very demanding, but I love the universe, and my addictive side makes me really enjoy collecting and building and painting
Connor Reyes
A) Yes. Most things resolve faster and the game is more lethal. The rules are much simpler.
B) DE are in a good spot. Strong and very competitive but not the king of the hill (currently guard) so you won't attract any hate for playing them.
Seriously though, I'm looking for legitimate feedback. My gaming group has very suddenly become open to homebrewing, so I'm hoping to actually use this.
Gavin Cruz
Oh, I was just picking a random baseline psyker. Even with no WAAAGH mojo, the Weirdboy still Smites better. So do any Primaris Psyker, Zoanthrope, or psyker Inquisitor.
Dominic Thompson
Is old start collecting and new start collecting a good way to start a 1000pts eldar army? It's enough stuff to run a spearhead detachment. I'm worried that GW will stop selling the old SC soon desu
Gavin Price
The Necrons were upset by the humans abandoning them in the middle of a battle.
But I get your meaning, I could switch the opponents for it to make more sense.
Asher Butler
Reminder not to take the b8.
David Wright
MY NAME IS HUGE
Leo Nelson
I think he means they're upset the humans up and left in a clutch moment when victory could have been more easily achieved in unison.
Apparently his crons hold grudges like dwarves.
Jayden Wood
2/10
The bit about your dad being the owner marks this as clear bait. You can do better user.
Nicholas Watson
Less repulsive than the Repulsor.
Michael Cox
Just what is this abomination?
Ryder Hill
ah sorry I misunderstood. What I meant was more akin to why not both. They're still both
Gavin Smith
Havn't they stopped selling it already? I can´t find it anywhere
