First for Capellan supremacy. Fuck plebs, fuck cryhards, fuck feddies, fuck whiners. Suck my stealth armoured plasma cock, y'all.

...

First for Lyran Fatass Mech Pride

Also reposting the Blyattlemaster because I can. Needs more Meme 'Mechs.

>Remembering memes, edition
Shouldn't this be "Remembering the OF database, may it rest in peace once more" edition

Sorry m8 but Lyrans are objectively superior.

>not posting a crater

grasshopper, cyclopse,, and uh... a clint?

Holy crap, I forgot the Cestus's only variant in 2750 was the absolute dogshit 6X, IE the "I have 2 PPCs, 2 LLs and 2 MLs plus 14 SHS" version. Guess what, this General is a special snowflake and gets a -6Y, because fuck that shit.

Yup.

Some things desperately need to be retconned to having DHS. They did it for the Feddie Blackjack in TR 3050, they can do it again.

Threads've been slow lately.

We had fun last thread working on our Periphery Realm.

1d4chan.org/wiki/Velatine_Federal_Republic

for those who want to continue on it

I spent the last two weeks getting back on the liquor, so I been out.
But I'm back, and so ready to deliver pointlessly long posts that nobody pays attention to

Well get thinking of those slavic names user

Drunk Battletech, best Battletech!!!

Hey, I made a new one of those. I did my part.

Cute. Did you draw it user?

Post more!

anyone else having problems with the main battletech forums?

do you have a WoB, Jade Falcon, Snow raven, spirit bear, Marian, Marik, and Davion version?

No, because the OF is cancer.

Think of names, start thinking of what development levels to assign the planets, think of the history a bit more are all good places to start.

I hope someone saved those mech concepts

They done run out their monthly hundred megabytes, so y'all is fucked

sarna.net/wiki/Assassin_II_(MekTek)

how the hell did they make this mech to be legal? I am at about 1 ton of armor on it

alright going to regret this, what is wrong with the BT forums that it has hate here? I mainly use it for reading the articles and discussing mechs.

No, just shooped it.
Sure.
Yes, No, Yes, No, No, Yes, and No.

can you post them then?

I'll post Snow Raven and WoB.

are the turians supposed to be cowboys?

Marik next, because why not.

And Marik.
Eh, I just figured it fit. They did have kind of a 'frontier' feel for a while, if I recall. They had a big colonization movement.

Oh mama. I think clans can be okay.
FWL best league too.

It's turned into a circlejerk for the moderators and their friends.

Anyone who actually plays the game or wants fluff that doesn't fellate one of the four approved factions (Suns, Caps, Falcons, Bears) has been run off unless they're part of the mod circlejerk.

They keep selecting new writers from the circlejerk so it just keeps getting worse for everyone else.

If you are legit a new player they will be nice to you for your inaugural "just started playing, wat do?" thread and then unless you embrace grog tech (not even kidding when I say the majority of the forum members over there won't play past TR 3058 and usually don't play more than once every six months or so- one of the authors flat-out said he'd never played past 3025 tech and hadn't played a game for over five years...) you're going to get frozen out very fast.

These threads here have more helpful posts and are more active. Make of that what you will.

Is three tons of UAC ammo enough do you guys think on an assault?

What is the general thoughts on the Victor in here? I hear mixed stuff about it so wondering what the thoughts are.

Personally I think it's good trooper mech all in all. What I like about it most it's decent support mech for lance of heavies or mediums due it's speed. Only problem is the relatively thin armor for an Assault and alot of explosive ordinance inside the mech so it's easy to lose one to stray shot that goes through the armor. The later models have Gauss rifles and CASE which up the survivability alot.

My friend wants to know if you have a wolf one.

The 10-D is really decent, filling the same roll it had been with better armor to boot.

battlebump

Let's share characters and their mechs.

From left to right:
>Elizabeth Grosvenor (Stinger)
>Sun-Lao Ling (Rifleman)
>Marie Coriveau (Hatchetman)
>Cera Kuroda (Atlas)
>Garadun Morr (Spartan)
>Baroness Alexandra Grosvenor (Thunder Hawk)
>Jimmy Han (Chief Tech)
>Edward Ian Davion (Cestus)
>Sayuki Anzai-Davion (Excalibur)
>Laura Bauer (Griffin)
>Erik Thorvald (Orion)
>Isabelle Pearl (Locust)

For a -20, sounds about right.

For a -10, a bit excessive. 20 will probably do.

For anything smaller, way too much.

Expressing my appreciation for what you're doing. Because all of these are really good and I appreciate well-done pinups. Keep at it, and thank you.

Does anyone have a tracking of a year by year tracking of new mechs as they entered production after the 4th Succession War?

Megamek, SSW, or even the MUL can handle that, just set them to sort by intro date. MUL even lets you sort by production era specifically.

So, being kinds of new, I was reading about what I like more about BT (the FWL, Periphery and mercs) and in the field manual for mercs, there is an scout called suthon than has eliminated 40 Battlemech be himself, the first time with a rifle and a broom stick.
If its so easy to down a 'mech, why was best Grayson Death Carlyle so terrified to fight them with his combined arms approach, sneaking infantry with infernos, being scared silly about losing to much men for nothing and that stuff if a broom handle can bother a mech?

Morning battlebump re: this

The Victor is a pretty good mech, just how good depends on the variant and the scenario. The gauss armed Vics are average 80 tonners, maybe a little light on armor. The AC/20 armed 9 series are ambushers that lack any long range. In close combat, the flippy cannon, jump jets, and 80-t kicks are brutal and can easily punch out enemy mechs before their weak armor gives out. On a more open field, the VTR-9B will get beaten into uselessness before you hit 9 hexes by a half awake opponent. In conclusion, AC Victors are best with Hidden Unit and Double Blind rules or city terrain or jumping out of a dropship into the middle of the enemy.

I should add that the 10 series AC units have a lot more armor, with 200 armor which is about 40 points more than the 9b

Thoughts on Wolfhound?

Pretty ok. There's one with an ER Large and like 4 Meds, it's pretty legit.

Energy boating is always funtimes.

So anons, tell me how do you make auto canons not suck so much, specially vs laser boats.

Without changing the fundamental rules of the game and the stats on the weapons, you can't really. You can mitigate it, but that's about it.

Did anyone save any of those homebrew mech designs?

I do, in fact.

Thanks user. Glad you like them. There are a lot of factions that still need love.

Well since I made the Banshee mod and the Vicuña, yeah I have them. Someone else did the ICE mooks though.

Feel free to put the pictures of the builds on the 1d4chan article, you done good user

I want to creampie that trueborn and make her have my freebirths

Is the Hauptmann the best IS Omni?

Tossed 'em up there; also added a bit of fluff with the Vicuña that there is always a lance of them deployed with the Stradioti as a point of national pride. I figured since they have some Banana Republic qualities that kind of nationalist propaganda projection would be apt. Honestly I get a bit of a 'way more functional North Korea' sort of vibe from the VFR; it's a good feel.

Well its NK only in that its a socialist nation that doesn't play by your rules, man.

Its got a very Cold War 70s feel to it which is fun - it feels like a nice mix of generally sketchy south american and eastern european countries, where the issues are more mismanagement and the military having too much say.

One thing we really need to pin down history-wise is the foundation date - obviously the planets and such existed since probably the Age of War, but when was the actual Federation established?

Si, mi gusta. It's certainly original in terms of fluff, but it also feels like it 'fits' which is the main thing. The fact that it's actually just as totalitarian as the rest of the Inner Sphere but with the veneer that it's different is great. I mean I guess it kinda falls closer to the FWL side of the spectrum, but still. The military government knows they hold tenuous power because especially the Slav factions, are so populous that they'd cause hell if they ever got upset, and a civil war would be bad. So they opted to give everyone more wiggle room and let freedom rein them in.

I've been pushing for formal statehood in 3051; the population swell from the Drac refugee situation caused the need to re-org and none of the original confederation planetary governments could handle the crisis alone. So they banded together and achieved solidarity. They were of course around since the AoW, but as a 'we help each other sometimes' loose confederatory organization of independent worlds. That could solidly put the heyday of the faction in more modern times; they'd be fully formed and functional by the Jihad, and a player by the time the Dark Ages roll around, with the Stradioti making the rounds and raking in cash.

I'm going to work on a state-made JagerMech variant today, as well as an MBT. I also move that they have access to all specialty Autocannon ammunition since that's kind of their thing.

Mhm - I feel like the individual states would have been there for awhile, but statehood itself is more recent. I imagine that the seeds were growing a good time beforehand though as the planets prospered and began to think of the future.

goddamn

When did the Kell Hound factory on Arc-Royal actually start making mechs? The 3050s?

Don't use standard or ultra ACs. RACs and LB-X are decent weapons.

poop poop dick butt

LACs are good and AC/10s with specialty ammo are also decent. AC/20s are good in Introtech but once LB 20-Xs come out they get real bad real quick.

When did the DVS-2 Devastator enter production? 3044 or 3048?

And how did most of the DVS-1D Devastators end up in the Taurian Concordat? Did the Lyrans sell them?

Well, it's the spiritual decendant of the classic Banshee BNC-3S and it doesn't have a single official loadout that's bad. So yes.

Real talk.
1D was never full production. It was a handful of disgarded prototypes in the early 3030's based on the Hoff data. DVS-2 was prototyped in 3044, got wrecked by the MAC setting them back years and started production in 3052. The whole program was developed by the Suns so you don't see them in Lyran space until the factory is built there for full production of the DVS-2.

3058U retcon is a fucking mess because it makes the 1D full production at some unknown Suns factory and messes up the intro dates in such a way that there should have been Devastators facing clanners in the invasion.

So, typical middle Fanpro era tech rollback mess.

Suthorn is a canon sue of the highest order.

Late 3050s, apparently. Probably after the Red Corsair thing.

Introduced 3048, so probably prototyped in or around 3044 and entering manufacture in or around 3047.

The Taurians managed to capture theirs from the Suns in skirmishes that never appeared in the fluff until the TR entry. Like most back-dated units, shit just doesn't make sense so don't waste your time thinking about it. The writers certainly didn't.

>Made for less than eight years at low numbers before the factory gets Blaked

No thanks. I'd rather have something I can get parts for.

House rule away double heat sinks.

Barring that, let vanilla AC's rapid fire like Ultras & have ultras not jam.

They needed to retcon Ultras un-jamming when they introduced RACS so there would be a legitimate reason to use them over the newer weapon.

LB-Xs stayed safe but the entire Ultra series got fucked up the ass with that call.

Looking at starting a run in AtB as mercs (probably with default start), how much of a starting budget should I give myself? I'd to start off with at least a decent medium lance.

How does the beta multiplayer look like at the moment? I just got rid of the bitch and I want to get into the fucking robot.

Tenshi is better for usability.
And for special applications Doloire is better.

Medium lance? What era? You can just GM yourself the 'Mechs then take a stipend to start with instead of guessing how much cash and buying everything. I like to roll on the MUL and go from there, but you can handpick then give yourself 10 mil or so to start.

It's pretty alright. Feels like a more arcadey version of MegaMek, which is kinda the point.

>What era?
The default start for AtB is 1/1/3067.
>You can just GM yourself the 'Mechs then take a stipend to start with instead of guessing how much cash and buying everything.
Oh, that would work better actually.

The Tenshi's got a better base chassis but all its configurations are gimped by moronic decisions.

Hauptman's base chassis is slightly worse but its configurations are very sensible.

Oops, I missed that 'default' bit. My bad.

Evening bump - I wonder if anyone can put forwards some more good south slav names for the VFR - the other planets I'm feeling much better about namewise.

Well I like the main planet's name, Obrenović. I say we go with that. For the other three... I can toss Ljubljana, Olomouc, and Kutná Hora onto the fire. I especially like Kutná Hora myself. I'd also rename the Malaysian planet; Brooke sounds way too Euro. It's cheeky, but I'd rather an actual cultural name. How about Negaraku? It's the name of their national anthem.

Didn't someone say last one there was an Obrenovic? I do like Kutna Hora and the rest but the idea was to do a bit more of the south slav kind of thing - so maybe one of those.

And Negaraku sounds fine, I did like the reference in Brooke heh

I'm also not sure about the main planet - which of those names should be the planet and which for the actual capital...

At least for the Low-Cal ones.

Ultra 10s and 20s didn't seem to need the boost, and if we're talking FWL, I'd take an ultra 10 over an LGR most any day of the week.

Big boppers need it as well.

RAC-5 at full rate can deliver better damage than the UAC-10 and is more than competitive with the -20 on mass, if not damage concentration.

I'd actually go for a RAC-5 and TC replacement on most things with a UAC-20. Hilarious as getting a Blitzkrieg in behind something can be, try doing it with that and see what happens, even after called shots at high fire rates got nerfed.

>RAC-5 and TC
Absolutely disgusting. I love it. Now I need a Mackie with several RAC 5s and a TarComp, because the noble Mackie always needs new versions.

The mackie is cute, CUTE.

Personally I would put the state foundation a bit earlier than 3025,so we can have games in grog tech, DA doesn't interest me in the slightest desu.

Best I can do is one, aside from a super weird variant I made on a bet years ago that doesn't have a TC at all.

Honestly there's nothing stopping grogtech games since the nation exists as a confederacy before actually formally becoming the VFR. Well, in my proposal anyway. If we want to have it founded earlier we'd need a reason. We'd have to look at the 3rd SW and see if maybe there's something there.

In the meantime, have the JagerMech variants I was considering. Figured I'd submit the two I dreamt up and we could choose one as a group. I figure at least one vote for the JM6-Q; we had a guy that wanted us to have the Hammerhands and this is as close as the VFR would probably get. We could also combine the two in some way; likely third option is to take the -Q and remove the LRMs and ammo and add the second ML back and some armor. I didn't want to optimize too much though; we seem to be going for 'mook' status in a lot of our designs so it felt right to leave the armor somewhat anemic in both variants.

Is there any law in the Combine and the Confederation that makes racism toward non-Japanese and non-Chinese respectively legal?

I like it, I was the one suggesting the hammerhands, if only because they were primitive and thus easier to make for our primitive nation.

Also we are talking about the AU nation somehwere outside here? Because I see lots of stuff in the 1d4 than no one has comented there.

Settled law, no.

For the Dracs as long as you're culturally Drac they give zero fucks as to your ethnicity.

After the Xin Sheng thing there was supposedly low-level discrimination against anyone who wasn't ethnically Chinese and it became fashionable to get cosmetic surgery to sculpt eyes to look Asian. Of course they never went into it more than that because like fuck the CapCon is going to have any flaws while Coleman is around to say anything about it.

Being ching-chongenese is a flaw enough, man.

So, what weapons are permited for the industry in the AU nation?
AC until 20, ICE, some limited fusion engines, LMR, Small and medium laser (probably limited to only one industry in the venice planet?), standard, industrial and primitive armor.
What more to add?

ROKKIT LAWNCHAIRS

Also Light, Medium, and Heavy rifles.

Have some Banshees for Space Venice.
