Keep the MK/Lady N related squabbling to a minimum.
To keep this from becoming /tesg/ minus waifus, don't post memes unless you are also posting quality discussion. Especially if it's not even Elder Scrolls related.

fallout and elder scrolls take place in different cycles of the same world

Fallout is an Interplay franchise, you dip

This isnt so much of a lore question so much as it is a setting question, but why isnt the Igma and Lilmothiit expanded upon and made playable races? it always sorta weirded me out how theres only really two beast people races.

Tod Coward get out.

Out of pure interest, what would a lore-appropriate playthrough as Nerevarine in Morrowind be like?

Female Argonian priestess with a background in crime that sweettalks everyone but ends up seeming slimy. She joins the Imperial Cult, but eventually ditches it to fuck around in the Temple just to spite those Dunmer who hate her. She also advances very far in the Thieves Guild and joins Mages Guild just for healing spells and such. Eventually, she kills Vivec after Almalexia is dead and fucks off to Akaviir in search of sexy dragons.

Male Dunmer

>Cold North edition
Previous threads went quite in detail regarding the Colovians, is it time to do the same for the Nords?

>looking at the last replies on the previous thread

jesus dude, are the /v/ermin Obsidiots really raiding every Bethesda related thread?

>tfw no dominant dunmer gf

Because adding options is the opposite of what we need to do here.
We need to "streamline" for the Call of Duty market.
It's totally not because we're lazy or anything...

>Igma
I'd like to play an Altmer-loving monkey man, though I don't think it'll happen.
>Lilmothiit
They're dead, Jim.

The only lore about the Nerevarine is that he's male. If you go by the opening Azura's speech specifying male and Neloth in the Dragonborn DLC saying the Nerevarine was male as well.

Whatever you want. Not That was confirmed to be an oversight.

Why not male Dunmer? That's pretty much what I always play in Morrowind?

Shouldn't it all just be Falmer vs Atmorans?

It's as valid as anything else.

I didn't include Falmer, just the indigenous Pan-Nedic populations. Note that Rift Nedes are a complete fabrication on my part.

Were Reachmen even a thing before the colonization of Skyrim?

There were Nedic tribes living in the region before Atmoran colonisation of Skyrim. Perhaps they inhabited a wider area of northern Skyrim before being pushed back. That's something I thought about in regard to Falmer (and maybe southern Nedes); Nordic expansion southwards must've pushed them onto higher ground, building strongholds above valleys, in hidden/harder to reach places.

Wait shit really? Fuck. I wanted to play as fox men. :/

Yeah they all got the Black Death from the Sload and died.

>Nordic expansion southwards must've pushed them onto higher ground, building strongholds above valleys
These are the exact places we know for certain the Nords had chosen to settle on.

>The original Nord settlements were generally established on rocky crags overlooking a river valley; many of these villages still survive in the more isolated Holds, especially along the Morrowind frontier. In most of Skyrim, however, this defensive posture was deemed unnecessary by the mid-first era, and most cities and towns today lie on the valley floors, in some cases still overlooked by the picturesque ruins of the earlier settlement

speaking of nedic

IF the Nibenese are descendants of the Tsaesci akaviri, why the fuck some of them doesn't even carry the traits of their former progenitors, an "asian" looking imperial would belong to a rich Nibenese family, we already have Colovians as Nord descendants

>I wanted to play as fox men
Have you tried Second Life?

I am aware of this but wouldn't it make sense for Falmer to flee to such locations after being pushed southwards by the Nords as well? It would make sense for Nords to make their way southwards along valleys, destroying any Falmer settlement there.

True, Nibenese merchant/mage clans would most certainly have a certain "Akaviri" look, although it wouldn't be something really huge. They would retain some resemblance to the invaders through intermarriage but apart from certain features, they'd probably just larp with Akaviri-style clothing and dwellings.

The Akaviri probably left very little actual impact on the population of Nibenay. That's generally the case when invading force is an army and not an actual migrating population. Especially when said army was crushed and failed to conquer anything anyways.
Akaviri descendance is probably limited to a handful of landed Tsaesci who intermarried with native woman, and would have had been completely assimilated had the Nibenese nobility not decided they liked some of their distinguishing snake-like features and began selectively breeding it.
In other words it would likely be very uncommon.

>wouldn't it make sense for Falmer to flee to such locations
Well we know that the majority of the Falmer took refuge with the Dwemer freeholds.
If some did decide to stick it out on their own they would have likely chosen extremely remote, hidden locations, such as the Vale seen in Dawnguard.

Oh right, I keep forgetting they decided to put Dwemer in Skyrim.

Colovians have nord-ish features, Mede II ingame looks like an old Nord warlord, even if he's an Imperial Assassin

Nibenese are Tsaesci, Somethig like asian looking features like eyes, body features and more pale skin would mean status over the nibenese royalty

You're assigning features to two huge groups of people that inhabit Cyrodiil

Can you give us a quick rundown on what Kreathmen (love the name) and Rift Nedes are?

Just two groups of pre-Nordic inhabitants of Skyrim; the former living in what is today known as North Colovia (Falkreath hold) and the latter occupying the Rift region. Haven't done much brainstorming on the two yet; the existence of the Kreathmen seemed obvious, what with mentions of the "men of Kreath" and I thought having another population of Nedes north of the Jeralls would be swell. Imagine lakeside communities of pile dwellings (houses on stilts) and merchants travelling down the narrow valleys in boats carved out of whole tree trunks.

I just want to genocide all the Reachmen

Pile dwellings are an interesting idea and they suit the region. Perhaps they could be proto Colovans? Which they named the land after themselves, the Reath. Referencing the hold's circular foliage around Lake Ilinalta.

Think they might bring back polearms? They did bring back crossbows.

I was refering to the communities in the Rift but I guess North Colovians could live in them as well. They were definitely connected to their southern neighbours as Falkreath and the surrounding region is commonly thought to be part of Greater Colovia. I don't know about the etymology of the name, though; I've seen some interesting theories about -kreath being the Nordic version of -grad. It sounds a bit more interesting and fitting than simply having it derived from an English word.

Anyone got a link to the character sheets for UESRPG 3e? The one I found had already a Bosmer stuff written on it.

If you can find anything about the meaning of "kreath" I'd very much like to know.

Don't think there's anything official on it. An alternate spelling of Falcrenth and Falkrenth is also possible, so there's that.

So guys are you

>Nerevarine
>Self made adventurer who needs no gods or destiny?
>Loyal Imperial servant
>Don't know

Love how in Morrowind there is a possibility you really arent the reincarnation and instead just some dude who filled a bunch of check lists.

>Love how in Morrowind there is a possibility you really arent the reincarnation and instead just some dude who filled a bunch of check lists.
In my opinion you are not reincarnation.

You are just some dude that managed to complete prophecy checklist and by doing this you mantled Nerevar or Nerevarine so you are Nerevar reborn just like hero of Kavatch become Sheogorath.
Anyone that fulfilled entrance conditions (outlander born from uncertain parents and such) could become one and we see a cave full of people that tried, hero is just first that manage to do it.

This link should replace the one in the OP.

/tgesg/ I need some comfy Dunmer/Morrowind pictures, especially related to daily life. If you got any, I would be grateful if you'd post them.

What is High Rock actually supposed to look like, literal blocks like in Arena and Daggerfall?

Thanks so much my man.

I defently like to think I am just some guy who became badass rather then, I am the reincarnation of some other badass. I did not like how in Skyrim, I am 100% for sureTALOS reborn, in a body of a Female Highelf.

I like to imagine it as a super high fantasy british kind of world. With loads of political intrigue to spice it up

Thanks to Bethesda, nirnroot is found aboard the BoS airship in Fallout 4. BethSoft bought the story and rights. They are adding way more mysticism in Fallout 4 which leads to believe that the worlds may collide or exist as separate dreamsleaves.

I meant the actual appearance, which if we go by ESO the more metropolitan areas are Tudor style houses.

>playing daggefall and some exorcist tells me "oblivion be with you" after warning me I'll have to fight a daedroth.
Is she being a little bitch or does she not think oblivion is a bad place

friday if i create the op i'll put this one

So is TES really all a dream? Is CHIM realizing this but not going falling into nihilism? Not a big fan of it desu if so. Can some one sell me on it. By dream does it mean, illusion or?

On the subject of daggerfall, I am in the mood to play it. Never played it before any tips? How is the magic in Daggerfall?

>Implying being the bodyguard and part time manservant of an Alternate nobleman isn't a superior fetish.

The classic. B'vehk it's great to be a Telvanni wizard.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Godhead
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reality_in_Buddhism
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moksha

Dream and the god dreaming it are more a metaphor for simplicity. It's more the consciousness of reality itself, and reality is an entity.

Thing is, reality isn't really a thing in TES

You know what I mean, the Godhead from whom experience is perceived.

...

.

Sounds like the Godhead is like Demiurge right?

If there's ever another game that isn't a Skyrim re-release, I could see it.

I'm going to be shit on, but I felt ESO pulled it off fine.

>You will never be the Breton bodyguard of a young and inexperienced Direnni noble, who wants to stop being sheltered.
>You will never accompany her and stop any undead, monsters, or criminals that get near her with both your magic and your martial prowess.
>You will never show her how life outside of a tower is like.
>You will never instruct her on magic as well as Ra'gada swordsmanship.
>You will never have her ask you to take her maidenhood, and be sworn to secrecy for her fear of her family's wrath.
>You will never settle down with a pleasant Breton woman, and her to her cousin who she loathes.
>You will never remain a family friend, and be invited for tea on occasion.
>She will never admit she still pines for you, and you for her. But you love your wife, and infidelity is not chivalrous.
>She will never be so grief stricken at your passing that she commemorates you to the mausoleum where only Direnni go.
>She will never pray to Arkay that in the next roundabout, you two can meet again as lovers.

Jesus, she looks wet. That guy but be wearing some Bug Musk.
ish
Hey, I'm here to shit on you.

>He helps the Forsworn in Skyrim
Why though? Reachmen are a plague too everyone in the Reach

Some realms of Oblivion might be nice. Azura's is suppose to be ridiculously beautiful. If you are a worshipper of one then that plain will certainly appeal to you. Not all Oblivion planes are The Badlands.

Because fuck Nords, fuck Ulfric, and fuck the Silverbloods.

Also, I love Reachmen.

>ish
I dont mean to sound like an asshole I just want to fully understand this. Why his the Godhead Demiurge-ish and not like him? What separates the TES Godhead and the Gnostic Demiurge? What makes them different from each other?

Lorkhan is closer to the Demiurge.

Reachmen indiscriminately kill everyone, Nords, Orcs, Bretons, they're just savages.

Forsworn =/= Reachmen.

The Demiurge is more a calculated artisan-like divine creator, which would be more like Lorkhan or Magnus, who are both aspects of the Godhead.

The Godhead is more like Paramatma or Brahman.

Forsworn do.

Also, are you trying to imply there is anything wrong with killing Orcs?

>Hey, I'm here to shit on you.

Forsworn are Reachmen

Why even live?

At least she'll never have to endure the heartbreak.

But not all Reachmen are Frosworn.

Reality's status as a dream is relevant to maybe 0.01% of its inhabitants.
The average Tamriel Joe goes his whole life without encountering anything explicitlt related to the Godhead. His wife is real to him, he is real to her, their kids are real to them, etc. Even if some wizard walked right up to him and said "hey, I was messing with the fabric of reality and got proof that this is all one long dream", he would have no real reason to care. Philosophy doesn't put food on the table.

Some people IRL state that the likelihood of reality being an elaborate simulation is essentially infinite (as there can be only one "true" reality, while it could produce an infinite nesting doll of realities simulating realitoes). I do not care if it is or not, as that doesn't affect my life one way or the other.

Basically, yes, the world in TES is a dream, and that is an advantage to some people, like Vivec, or anyone seeking to mantle a god. But, for the most part, life goes on as it would otherwise, and the decisions you make really do affect people.

Hey bro, I recently started playing ESO and just got to the Glenumbra map. I think Daggerfall looks pretty comfy so far.

There's little distinction between them, the Forsworn are a faction of Reachmen that captured Markarth, lost it and operate out of the Eastern Reach. They attack indiscriminately anyone in the Reach, like the Reachmen of the Western Reach.

Because being a do gooder without thinking of the broader consequences is fun.

I always took it that the Forsworn were more or less "civilized" Reachmen living within Markarth and working as an underground cell of agents for the Reachmen to overthrow the city.

There's nothing to suggest the Forsworn are any different from the central culture that is the Reachmen, they've just taken to calling themselves something different.

Think of it like this. The Irish are an ethnicity, just like the Reachmen are an ethnicity.

Not all Reachmen are part of or even support the Forsworn, the same way not all Irishmen are part of or support the IRA.

Does Daggerfall do a good job on the history and lore of High rock?

No, I would't say so. The Demiurge is the guy who makes and maintains physical reality, while the Godhead has more in common with Hindu thought, or perhaps western mysticism as inspired by the Kabbalah.

It does a fairly good job at portraying the history and lore of the area around the Bay in the years around the War of Betony. That's very much the focus of the lore.

Yeah, tbqh I played ESO for a bit as a Breton Sorcerer, and Highrock was pretty cool. Particularly Glenumbra, I have a thing for dark, rainy, and spooky settings.

No, far from it really.
Closest thing to the demiurge in TES would be Lorkhan.

I think Magnus is a pretty big contender for a Grand Architect, as well, but yeah, the Godhead isn't quite the Demiurge.

You've got it right to an extent.
The majority of the Reachmen of the Reach have pretty much forsaken their savage roots and live in civilized society.
The Forsworn are a large faction of these modern reachmen that have essentially begun 'wewuzing' their "old ways" because of how asshurt they got over the fact that they lost their bid for power.

More along the lines of Ulfric killing the elderly, the women, and even the children, then installing the corrupt Silverbloods who try to throw the Reachmen off their land through violence and coercion. When pressed about it, Nordies and Nordaboos say "Muh Talos", and "He [Ulfric] wuz a good boy".

Until Reachmen are made more distinctive its hard to discern who's a peaceful Breton, and who is the savage Reachmen. All I've noticed in Skyrim is native Reachmen usually have weird Arthurian names, and war paint.

You mean who's a civilized Reachman and who's a savage Forsworn Reachman. Most of the Reachmen you'll see in Markath are hardly savage.

Oh you mean a failed revolt didn't play out well for the revolting people. Oh shucks!
Better go ethnically cleanse the Reach now...

Its hard to tell who a Native Reachmen is from a Breton

The Reachmen minimized loss of life the first revolt. Most Nords continued their live normally.

Ulfric came along and beheaded women, children, the elderly, and committed war crimes for power under the guise of letting Nords worship a lying Breton. Then put people in charge who are trying to ethnically cleanse The Reach.

Some are trying the revolt again, but this time just realizing they made a mistake in getting too comfortable around Taloboos. Go ahead and shuffle your feet and tell me Ulfric wuz a good boy who dindu nuffins, but the fact of the matter was Markath was way better for both Reachmen and Nords before Ulfric ruined everything he touched like usual.

Not really. If they wear woad and have a name like Torc, they're a Reachman.

That doesn't matter, though, because it's not about Reachman vs Breton, it's about regular Reachmen vs Forsworn.
