Okay here's how you fix the Baneblade chassis. First, make it so that it isn't a complete piece of shit just because a couple goblins decided to start pissing on it from 1" away. To achieve this, we affix a massive bayonet to the turret. Call it the Burning Bayonet, or the Bayonet of Magnus, or Silence or something.

But tanks aren't meant for melee, you know? So we gotta give them a way to fall back. A better way. Let's give the tank giant mechanical wings, and the keyword.

Now we all know the Baneblade type weapons are pretty bad, which is why everyone picks either the titan killer ones or the BRRRRRRRRT bullshit. Let's make shell type guns great again, by making them psychic based.

And of course, a LoW should always be a centerpiece, so make them Characters.

With all these excellent changes, they'll need a more heroic category than the boring old "superheavy" or "vehicle (tank)". Let's call them "Primetanks".

The fucker has EIGHT heavy flamers (which cas use even within 1"), 4 lascannon and a big ass cannon made of lemon juice. The Volcano cannon deals 3D3 shots at strenght SIXTEEN and every hit deals 2d6 damage. HE ALSO HAS 9 ATTACKS AT STRENGHT NINE that cause D3 wounds and with 1 CP he hits on 2+. You cannot charge it (8D6 str 5 autohits from the flamers) and if he shoots you you are 100% dead, no matter who you are. If this doesn't mean he's strong I don't know what it is.

I don't know, man, it seems they'd still struggle unfairly against horde armies if they don't also have titanic feet to kick with.

Naked shadowsword seems pretty reasonable, outdamages it's points in russes against anything you'd want to shoot it at. Also it shoots titanic units on a 2+ rerolling if it's cadian or vostroyan, and wounds everything that can move on 2+ rerolling.

Hellhammer also seems pretty decent, maybe a little on the pricey side, bUT still eats knights for breakfast.

It would take an average of about 26 dark lances to kill a baneblade variant. There isn't much to be scared of.

In what way? Crusader squads aren't just melee blobs, they're good for MSU special weapons and can be mixed between melee and shooting. Most other units are either specialised by default or already have access to different gear because of their elite status.
