Add "Playing 2e Dragonblooded" to the bottom with a bigger universe-mind and you're just about right OP.

>Not playing Exalted
right below that

nobody remembers alchemicals, not even me

where do you find these kind of images?

>We saw the stats several threads ago user.
Where? I seem to have missed this.

So, ran into a bit of an interesting scenario last session, still considering how to handle it so I thought I'd post here about it. Apparently, my Zenith's managed to build a bit of a following within the city due to a couple of factors. And when I say following, I guess I mean fandom because somebody wrote a trashy romance novel where the guy was a very thinly veiled copy of my Zenith. Apparently it's caught on with some of the local girls, and my character only found out now.

It's all been played for jokes for the most part, although I did manage to get a lead on a villain that snuck into the city without anybody else noticing thanks to his fanbase. But then at the end of session, someone mentioned something about "Would this be enough to earn a dot of Cult?", and the GM thought it was funny enough to make it an option. I should say, in-character my Zenith is very uncomfortable with all this. He's a very humble person and extremely innocent, so this whole thing has just had him flustered and embarrassed, to the point where he originally wanted to find the person that wrote this book and politely ask her to stop. But that said, it -has- been useful in finding aforementioned villain, who's important to my character's backstory. Also, Cult is useful, and the GM did say I could potentially take advantage of it to turn this gaggle of weirdos into useful, not-so-weird people. And on top of that, it's not as if my character is offended or anything. He might consider it a little flattering, if it wasn't so embarrassing to him that it's basically turned him into eyecandy, and most people recognize him now as that guy who helped the city and had that trashy romance novel written about him.

So, what do you think /exg/? Do I step in and stamp this out, or is there some way I can turn this into a good thing. And by good, I mean some way I can make this benefit the city or the people involved, because I don't think my character is all that interested in having fangirls.

All of Arms was leaked.

Google it. It was literally the first result for me.

No it wasn't.

Ah yes, the "leak," - the mythical document outside of the internet. We have dismissed these claims.

Justify it by saying you'll show them a better way or whatever. Zeniths were made for cults.

Actually stamping out something like that seems like it might be hard even for a Zenith, at least stamping it out in a way that doesn't just lead to him accumulating even more fans. You know, people impressed by your Zenith's modesty and dedication to the city's well being. Zeniths tend to be visible and impressive figures, and gathering followers is a natural consequence of that. Trying to fight it seem slike a waste of energy. Just try to make the most of things. Your character could be a reluctant celebrity who feels obligated to set a good example for his fans, and who occasionally uss his popularity for good causes.

So, last thread there was debate about whether mortals sorcerers can bind demons the same way Exalted can. There was a guy saying that in 2E mortals had a way or ways of binding demons, but it included some extra hoops compared to the Exalted. According to this guy, things work that way in 3E too, with mortals being able to bind demons, but through a different and more arduous process than the Exalted. On the other hand, there was abother guy saying that previously mortals had no way of binding demons, and that the canon demon-summoning mortal sorcerer we have in 3E is a clear example of mortal sorcerers following the same rules as the Exalted. Could we clear this thing up? Which is it? I'm familiar with 3E material and what it says about mortal sorcerers. I've read 2E material, as well, but I honestly don't remember what it says about mortals and demon summoning, and I don't know if whatever the 2E state of affairs was is compatible with what we know about mortal sorcerers in 3E.

ask a developer

pretty sure even thaumaturgy had demon summoning and that's basically mortal magic

So what's the deal with adamant, the magical material? It wasn't native to any exalts except some who-cares alchemical caste in 2e, did they do anything with it in 3e?

/exg/ I have a question that's been bugging me for quite awhile.

Do Exalted regrow their teeth, or if they have a cavity, does their tooth heal?

"sure, whatever"

Depends how many points into Medicine you/your circlemate has.

Adamant is not an MM though?

It's perfectly fine to have a Cult. In fact, people are always going to worship you. You're an Exalted, you're literally the most awesome thing ever. The fact that your character is apparently humble in an aw-shucks kind of way, and is fairly good looking, means that's just fuel for the flames.

Your guy probably shouldn't think too hard about it, but does he have any idea how many local girls are masturbating to him right now? The answer is 'many'.

What splat would Leonard of Quirm be? I'm thinking Defiler. probably 5 days after he first sees how his intelectual designs are being used.

I thought it was a pseudo-MM, magic diamond in the same way Orichalcum is magic gold and Moonsilver is magic silver.

no. you get 7 millennia with only the one set of adult teeth. use them wisely ;)

It had demon summoning, but not demon binding, so it was riskier.

in their infinate wisdom exalted developers named two ENTIRELY DIFFERENT materials "adamant"

the magic diamond is autochthonian adamant, creation's adamant is an extremely tough grey rock that can almost be worked like metal sometimes and is a lesser material like feathersteel or unmelting ice.

...

In that case, you should have no problem posting it here, then. And what may be the first link for you on Google may not come up for other people at all, considering that Google tailors everyones results based on their history.

Fuck you, I love Alchemicals. Not my fault Whitewolf and it's bastard offspring hung them out to die at the end of every edition thus far.

Where is

What do the Devil Tigers become at the end of their cycle?

Or maybe you should learn how to use google.

I remembered them enough to make a translation...

What are some Exalted-tier vidya you guys get inspiration from?
For me:

>Metal Gear Rising: Rengeance
Really feels like a sci-fi Exalted. Dramatic plot, sweet moves and some really decent stunts (Especially the first bossfight IMO).

>Revelations Online
Fantasy setting with gunslingers, air gliding, jumping etc and some really flashy moves

Yeah, I don't believe you saying that there's a leak. If there was you would have posted it.

In 2e, mortals couldn't bind demons. They could bargain with demons, and if the demon liked the sorcerer enough, or didn't care, he would do approximately what was asked. 99.99% of the time, if the sorcerer isn't firmly a Yozi worshipper in the first place, the sorcerer is eaten.

Binding demons in 2e was a consequence of the surrendering terms of the Yozi to the gods and Exalted. Only them could compel a demon, by basically metaphysically quoting the surrendering contract with tons of essence. Mortals weren't part of the terms of the surrender.

>What are some Exalted-tier vidya you guys get inspiration from?

Dynasty Warriors.

For showing how easily a Solar should carve through armies of Dragonblooded

It is though.

oh look this fucker again

I'm trying to come up with simple homebrewed Liminals, nothing fancy, just the general framework of their stuff, no actual charms.

How balanced would it be for a Liminal to have no wound penalties whatsoever, in exchange for never being able to get the Exalted Healing merit?

could he still use alchemy to heal as an exalt the way mortals can

Probably not. He could heal individual wounds by taking dead flesh and incorporating it into his own, or similar stuff, but not accelerate it per se.

The thing about Liminals is that they already don't exactly die, they can recover from incapacitation and crippling wounds easily. So giving them Exalted healing on top of that seems excessive.

seems kinda stupid they can't do it when even mortals can

Mortals aren't usually a pile of stitched-together corpses, but yeah, the more i think about it the more it's probably unfeasible.

>Do Exalted regrow their teeth, or if they have a cavity, does their tooth heal?
I had to read this a few times before I realized you you weren't being metaphorical.

>the magic diamond is autochthonian adamant, creation's adamant is an extremely tough grey rock that can almost be worked like metal sometimes and is a lesser material like feathersteel or unmelting ice.
I thought Creation's adamant was something similar to glass and that there were traces of in the remaining glass towers (and glass shards) of Chiaroscuro?

What's a good way to counter a Thrown Supernal Dawn (PC) in order to offer the player circle some challenge?

make it necessary to convince a king to get ahold of an artifact without just sending a throwing axe into the king's skull.

Combat is a dawn's specialty. If you're only thinking about combat then the dawn will be in the spotlight.

>challenge
>exalted in their area of expertise

You challenge the zenith by giving them a people to lead or convert or redeem. You challenge the twilight by giving them a mystery to unravel or something to build or repair or cure. You challenge the night by giving them stealthy or acrobatic shenanigans to do. You challenge the eclipse by giving them a group of people (or spirits) to manipulate and/or make deals with.

There are ways of doing that, user. Aside from other Exalted, high-Essence spirits can definitely do it.

That would still be challenging the dawn and not the others. Which I believe is the point that user was making. So yeah.

This.

Set him up fighting against another Dawn Caste (or more likely, an Abyssal with evil/spooky flavored Solar charms).

...

A question: anima banners, how the hell do they manifest? How do you describe them and make them sound not silly?

How do they look in your games?

pleased to see someone taking Thrown, 90% of Dawns I see are Melee or Brawl

you don't. they're supposed to be silly

apparently John Morke's has been sexually harassing people

Pretty suprising.

especially since all the rape ghosts and such were from Holden "em down" shearer.

that's just called chiaroscuro glass iirc

To be fair this is Onyx Path,; some of their employees would consider accidental eyecontact unwanted sexual harassment and white knight against it ;)

this was the roadsign the capta made me select for that comment.

what is it?

It's dogshit, you have to justify how so many people happen to Exalt in the same place at the same time and they were all friends beforehand.
You can do it with Exigents though since they can Exalt as a small group.
It's something to do with ypur positional lights... Maybe obligation to have them on?
Source?

sexual harassment

"Have you checked your headlights aren't on high beam mode?", I'd guess.

Make a group of people the dawn can fight and then make a group of people the group can fight. Send the group in one direction and the dawn in the other.

Is there a way to play Exalted 3 in a way that isn't episodic, with different characters cycling under the spotlight while the rest of the party twiddles their thumbs? Example: running a fun and challenging combat the whole group can contribute to

Of course, you just need a non-shit Storyteller

Make it so one fight affects the other. So one thing I did was have a big giant mech behemoth who was drawing power from a manse. As long as the manse was still functioning you could not kill it for a very long time. I put the thing in the direction of a village that helped the solars out so they would be motivated to fight it. I made it so there where nodes in the manse that the behemoth had grown/built that would give it powers.

Run the fight all on the same battle track and run the fight.

Examples, please
Okay, so you ran a gimmicky fight, how many times and how many different ways cna you do that before it gets repetitive?
Not saying it's not cool, because it is a cool idea, but I don't think a game can go on for long with every combat scene being something like that, and it still compartmentalizes the group - the Dawn punches the giant mech and/or holds it still, the rest deal with the boss fight weak points

I mean then wouldn't any fight just boil down to a gimmick then, I know that shit is unhelpful in the discussion but certain castes shine in different areas. like an interesting one could be straight up ghosts of an appropriate power who have dumb amounts of ways to eat damage and through research (by someone like a twilight who could then through some occult or lore fuckery keep the ghosts in a preped area ) and then application of say certain ancestor rights (by you local zenith or so mid fight ) would placate then to get their shit slapped while the night snatches shit that could have great importance to them. like that could possibly be interesting while still letting a group force it if they want. but it is still a gimmick right? another commonly seen gimmick could be hit it till it dies.
so should we establish what the cut off for too gimmicky first?

Am I the only one who wants/can't wait for Abyssal?

I reckon that people are put off by them having only two ways to be played in 2e. We'll see what plans the devs have for them.

I get what you are saying, and I would not recommend doing gimmicks every time. That being said Gimmicks are fine as long as you don't make the game seem gimmicky.

Solars by their nature are great specialist and in their field usually make things so they can not be beat. I have it pretty easy as a story teller as i have a dawn who has character flaws. I can get him to declare he will one v one the big guy while the others take the lesser threats.

I want charm sets for all the splats, but I can run Abyssals as just recolored Solars so they are at the bottom of the list.

RAPE GHOSTSSSSS

Absolutely. The problem you describe is mostly a white room issue where nobody leaves their Caste role or has personal stakes in anything.

Yes, but you have to remember one thing: An Exalted who specializes in one thing will be insanely good at it. You have to approach things on a wider scale.

Let's say you want to liberate Thorns. Of course the Dawn Caste has a huge role to play, because he's the guy who can duel Deathknights one-on-one. But at the same time, the Zenith rallies the people, the Eclipse forces everyone to work together by oathbinding them, the Twilight gets the Warstriders working and the Night Caste is basically Corvo from Dishonored.

The thing you have to keep in mind is that all the PCs can do things outside their speciality, but not as well. More, very little can stand up to a Solar of ANY kind (until the Solar is a complete pacifist). So basically, give them a lot of things to do at once, and let them get to it and improvise.

Celestial Bliss Trick

Anyone have any good, bad, or even ugly Dynast fics?

forum.rpg.net/printthread.php?t=817741&pp=200&page=1
Page 2/e, ctrl+f Morke

Holden posted about Mentzner and how you need to 110% believe women and how "Shane" was a serial abuser.

Interesting to see how he reacts to this.

There are Dynast fics?

Apparently, or so I've heard.

He already copped to it later in that same thread outside the snip

I guess it's one more reason to be greatful Morke is gone.

Also Matt McFarland may have raped a minor so once again Beast is hellbent on showing that the WoD side of things is every bit if not even more fucked up.

It doesnt seem to be about sexual harassment so mich as...well, non-sexual harassment. Being a creepy asshole. Not that it's much better, but it's a different thing.

So, lion dogs look like lion-mastiff-hybirds made out of living hade. What color of jade does this refer to, or are they supposed to be made of real world jade instead of Creation's jade?

>raped a minor
Raped as in had nonconsexual sex with a child?
Or raped as in had consensual enthusiastic sex with a 17 years 7 months girls but let's go on a witch hunt because FREEDOM?

>Just to be clear, I'm not demanding evidence before believing you - I do believe it happened.
>Even the one I was surprised by in there - Morke - wasn't all that surprising I guess
>Hearing about Morke made me irrationally furious, like hearing your uncle or cousin did something wrong and feeling a great need to yell at them for being a real idiot.
Ladies and gentlemen: due process in the tumblr decade.

Nevermind I found my answer: a faceless nobody posted on the internet that Matt McFarland raped a minor 18 years ago.
I agree with If I were in these guys' shoes (meaniong Morke and McFarland in this case) I'd ask these cretins to bring their accusation to a court of law. This shit could cause serious career damage as close-knit as the RPG community is... Not that Morke has any career to speak of after the Exalted disaster.

forums.spacebattles.com/threads/the-odyssey-exalted.257551/

Dragonblooded Adventures on fiction.live is decent, though I think it's on hiatus.

Speaking of which what do people think of the Sorcerous Workings in that quest?
