Just moved to a new country. Wasn't able to bring my infinity Army. Found a local store that supports infinity. Any recommendations for a which new army I should start? I played combined army and aleph.

I'm thinking about a different army. I enjoyed aleph and combined army, but I need a coat of fresh paint. So literally any army. When I played aleph I played vanilla and for combined army it was onyx. In hopping for more TAGs this time round

PanO might be the faction for you then. Granted their tactic are mostly straight forward but they have the most number of TAGs and variety to them.

Just keep in mind TAGs are not an end-all-be-all and need support with them.

PanO ain't lying when it claims to be the TAG faction. Nomads and Combined Army are runners up in that regard.

This is very true. Which is why you have to put it into a position where they have to deal with it or be at a disadvantage. Cutter, one of their tags, is good for playing the mind game. Though if you deploy it as a TO marker instead of hidden deployment, you are giving away what you are taking. Squalo is also good due to HGL, which means the opponent cannot really ignore it.

Luckily PanO has some pretty good basic troopers (mostly being the Fusilier) that can hold their own, but keep in mind that Wip is your major weak-point.

Even though it goes against my aleph ways I think I'll end up playing nomads. The new designs are beautiful, and I love to hack. As for the lore they're ok

Don't forget Regulars and Auxilia. PanO probably has the best basic troops in the game.

Auxilia yea...have no experience with Regulars since I do not have the Acon box yet. I say mostly Fusiliers in this case because he has a solid profile with relatively good choices of loadouts. Hell, a ML fusilier can be scary in its own right, but low wip means PanO is going to have an hard time with objectives.

Why the change to shock? Seems like it wasn't needed and only makes new weird interactions.

Deactivates Dogged/NWI on multiwound models, but still doesn't instakill. So if an Asura got hit twice with a shock gun, she'd lose the option to go into NWI and instead would go unconscious.

Does it? The Shock special effect doesn't apply to models with Wounds 2 or more, or Lo-Tech A or Inactive Symbiont Armour (as they count as multi-wound models), or units with STR. All mentioned in the same block of bullet points. Logically, either it would apply to all or none.

Since Shock's effects don't apply to Lo-Tech models in either their normal or their battle-damaged states, do they apply to models with Transformation like the Fraacta?

Ah, by "Does it?" I mean permanently. Like if you take a wound from Shock, and then another from normal ammo, can you NWI/Dogged or not?

Oh yeah, guess I worded that poorly. It doesn't cause you to lose it permanently, but you can't activate it if the last wound you took was caused by shock.

Wait, so instead of just ignoring Dogged/NWI and putting them right to dead, it ignores Dogged/NWI and they are Unconscious?

That is weird they don't let Shock put multi-wound models to Dead if it is the last wound. It would make a lot of sense and I can't think of any way it would be game-breaking.

Well, it's more of a slightly weaker missile launcher and bunch of specialists with Flash pulses most of the time.

It's usable, but clunky. Very niche.

Smart missile launcher + satlock bot + EVO hacker, on the other hand, works beautifully.

Is the EVO only for giving B2 in ARO?

No. It makes satlock a native WIP roll instead of WIP-6. That turns the standard sensor bot into a peerless targeting machine.
Though the B2 ARO also helps, it gives the GML bot another role.

Oh, haven't noticed that some hacking devices give passive bonuses, neat.

The EVObots have a shitton of passive skills. Another important one is that they automatically give droptroops a boost.

hey guys, any suggestion for our table? we usually set it up like this, so far it has worked for us but i was wondering if you had any suggestion/ideas or guidelines to follow when setting up.

Also, custom rules for environment: yay or nay? We're a small 4 people playgroup and we were wondering about introducing stuff like destroyable cover, explosive barrels, etc. Too gimmicky?

General rules of thumb to follow when setting up terrain is to have it mildly asymmetrical (so as to give the decision of deployment sides some weight), have some fire lanes vertically, diagonally, and horizontally, but not so that there are too many points where one deployment zone can directly see the other one (like 4-6 paths), and to have room for bikes/TAGs to walk between. Also to have buildings both partially within the deployment, and completely within deployment. Most sizeable terrain should be 4 to 8 inches apart. Generally, biggest pieces should be placed first, then down to the smallest.

So far that set up looks fine, although it could maybe use some more spacing between buildings, maybe cut back on one or two, and that corner with all the shipping crates seems unusually dense.

Not much need to make houserules for the environment, as there are plenty of established rules for Special Terrain. And Anti-Materiel should indeed be used as often as you feel comfortable with. Outside of tournament settings I usually agree with my opponent to make barricades, walls, doors, and crates destroy-able. And there's been plenty of times where we've been fighting with forests both in an out of tournaments.

So Infinity Army only lists certain Merc troops in the general armies, why is that? The rulebook says mercs can work for all general armies as long as they aren't alien and sectorals, unless otherwise noted.

You usually need your opponent's permission before you can use Mercenaries not normally available to sectorials and armies, e.g. McMurrough available to Coregidor and CHA, but not Generic Nomads.

Then, in the options tab on the right, you can activate all the Mercs you wish to include in your casual games.

Besides the IA, where can I find a list of what is available to what army? Because Pg 23 under Merc Troops says you can use anyone like I said, so I'm hella confused.

No they can't. For that you need the opponent's permission, or play the Soldiers of Fortune mode and if you do that, just go into the settings and check the MERCS button
