Infinity is a 28mm scale futuristic skirmish game by Corvus Belli where sometimes the best way to advance forwards is to advance backwards very fast until you're out of range.
Just how rare is it to be a soldier in Yu Jing or Pan-O? The excuse for Ariadna being a thing is that they need the man-power for Paradiso, but Ariadna's population is about 2000 times smaller than Pan-O's. Them trying to fight Pan-O would be statistically similar to Guam going against the USA in terms of a population difference. This along with the fact that Haqqislam, another comparatively small nation is stated as having the largest army in the sphere makes me assume only a tiny fraction of the two super powers population are soldiers.
Blake Cook
Ariadna is used because they're disposable and they make good O-12 puppets, plus the sepsitor immunity and expertise in guerilla warfare against a superior foe. Haqq having the largest standing army is weird though, unless PanO/Yu Jing planetary armies count as different forces.
Nathan Howard
It's because Haqq makes extensive use of Ghulam light infantry. PanO and YJ go for small numbers of very elite troops, while Haqq go for huge numbers of light infantry.
Julian Campbell
Hello
Kevin Smith
This. I always figured that the basic troops of PanO and YuJing were small in numbers. They rely on their more swag units to do most of the fighting. Haqqislam is like GHULAM STRONK
Blake Long
It's the sheer scale that does it. PanO has more than 10 times the population that Haqq does, and about 5 times as much territory to look after.
Christian Reed
>comfy corporate job >lots of money >drugs >posh urban life on neoterra >robot servants and waifus >mayabook If I was from PanO I wouldn't be a soldier either desu
Gabriel Butler
>posh urban life on neoterra Alternately >comfy agrarian lifestyle on Acontecimento >sun-drenched beach lifestyle on Varuna >no lifestyle on Svalarheima, who'd want to live there?
Nicholas White
Yeah I mean Varuna is basically 'straya but with more vacation days, and Acontecimento is like living in a natural paradise + an american suburbia. Why would you want to be a soldier?
William Ward
>aiming to be a wageslave in a 'post-scarcity' environment
For what purpose.jpg
Jonathan Fisher
I imagine Svalarheima isn't so bad when the indoor heating is working. Probably have a bunch of sex, mayanet access, and such. .
Benjamin James
Billions live in space habitats, Svalarheima is pretty comfy compared to those.
Easton Brown
How old is the O-Yoroi TAG model?
Josiah Rodriguez
Not old enough for resculpt, if you want to ask that. O-Yoroi was the first computer sculpted TAG after really long dry spell of big robots afrer Marut.
Isaiah Moore
Oh well, maybe they'll redo the Keisotsu or some of the other Japanese models instead, most of them look like shit.
Joshua Allen
Going to play against Onyx Contact Force for the first time this week. What sort of surprise cockfag elements do they tend to pack?
Cameron Sanchez
I thought I remember seeing someone say that the new JSA starter was in the process of getting completed. And it would make sense if CB keeps up the trend of resculpting old sectorial starters in desperate need of it.
At the moment we have these starters in need of a resculpt: >Military Orders >Merovingians >Shasvastii >Qapu Khalki >Japanese Sectorial MO is confirmed for happening in January or February, and MRRF and Shasvastii probably have to wait for their sectorial updates. That only leaves JSA and QK on the chopping block, so both are probably going to happen sometime next year; I'm predicting JSA in spring and QK in summer, if the rumor was correct.
Oh, and there's vanilla/Vedic Aleph, but that's also probably waiting for the Vedic sectorial we're never going to get. Fuck everything.
Brayden Flores
Don't forget vanilla Ariadna. That thing is old as fuck.
Sebastian Foster
Wait, there's an RPG coming?
Thomas Collins
Yeh. The first book is in the mega. I'm pretty sure the one there is the final version actually, I should probably update the OP.
Aaron Watson
Do you think that vanilla ariadna will be packaged with vanilla aleph or some shit?
They seem to like redoing the vanilla sets for starter boxes
Michael Morales
CB claimed that Aleph won't be in a box like that since it's considered to be an 'advanced' faction iirc, but it wouldn't surprise me if it ended up in one anyway. Not like the Brazilians haven't made shit up before.
Ethan Cooper
Maybe combined vanilla would make more sense?
Wyatt Allen
No line troops to work with. Remember the OCF starter is technically the vanilla starter.
Noah Cox
Prepare to get fucked in the face by tons of plasma and perhaps a stealthed Sphynx somewhere in your backline, roasting your cheerleaders
Isaac Parker
>skiavoros >engaging myrmidons in CC
Joshua Peterson
Bring a ML, you'll meet a lot of nasty links.
Benjamin Reed
First five, technically, but two of those are just modified versions of the core, and the other two are adventures.
Eli Cook
Are the combi rifles and chain rifles on the Shaolin Monks in the current style or are they old and chunky? I can't quite tell from the official pictures.
Levi Howard
They're Pre-CAD so they're older style, but they do hold up rather well, and chain rifles and combi-rifles look the same as the newer CAD, just bigger sometimes.
No one cares about the combi-rifle version so it's all good.
Asher Stewart
>forced to use Maya where ALEPH monitors your thoughts
Arachne is freedom
Parker Cox
Nah, they look awesome.
Angel Nelson
>he'd rather use some criminal knock off rather than the greatest information highway known to man
Chase Green
Should long range TAGs stay in their DZ or advance towards the enemy?
Henry Turner
Keisotsu look like fucking garbage m8. Other jap stuff is mostly fine, but the starter really needs a do-over.
Matthew Green
I hate hakamari's look and wish he looked even more like a skinny hoodrat domaru. Keitso models are old but what sort of update is needed? They shouldnt really be even top 5 coolest models in JSA. Them looking slightly underwhelming almost seems like their shtick.
Luis Sanders
They don't need to look incredibly cool, they just need to fit the modern scale and not look like dogshit.
Haramaki could probably be redone simply because they're small and always next to the oversized Domaru, but they probably won't be for a while.
Jordan Clark
Nah, fuck that, resculpt the shitty Domaru instead.
David Roberts
Haramaki aren't too small, modern Domaru are too big! It was a scaling error that was too expensive to fix when they noticed it.
Dominic Rodriguez
It's both. Haramaki are small and Domaru being oversized makes that even more apparent.
Cooper Howard
Anybody else bother getting that ITS Season 9 book?
James Thomas
I just want the cards.
Sebastian Campbell
Don’t forget: >cosmetic surgery is cheap, effective and widely available, meaning nearly any pussy is 8+/10
Aiden Edwards
Hey quit calling that an error. I love my hilariously huge samurai.
But I can't put my finger on why I don't like Hakamari. It might purely be that Corvus got better at photographing their models but for some reason these power-armored samurai don't pop for me. And thats a sentence I never thought Id say.
Bentley Hernandez
For the art? Otherwise they just replace Retroengineering.
Brody Butler
With what?
Adrian Phillips
I mean, I know what the new classified is, but if I draw "retroengineering" and go like, "yeah, so this is this new mission", it's pretty awkward to check the document without looking suspicious.
William Jackson
From the ITS S9 rules:
KIDNAPPING The 4 Classified Deck’s HVT: Retroengineering cards must be replaced by the Kidnapping cards. If players do not have the Kidnapping cards, they must keep the HVT: Retroengineering cards and consider their content to be the Kidnapping text. Both types of cards have the same numbers. HVT: KIDNAPPING Requirements: Veteran Troop, Elite Troop, or Chain of Command. Objective: A trooper whose Troop Classification is Veteran or Elite Troop, or a trooper possessing the Chain of Command Special Skill, must be in CivEvac state with the enemy HVT at the end of the game.
Uniquely, the HVT: Kidnapping cards don't all have the same art, unlike the other ten scenarios. This actually makes it slightly harder to tell at a glance what card you've drawn.
In some scenarios you have [Designated Target] HVTs, which are enemy troopers. The top-ranked player at mid-season gets to choose which faction gets the Improved DT HVT profile (+1 PH, +1 ARM, +3 BTS).
This file is basically all of the S9 book, minus the ~8 pages of fluff and the list of winners from S8.
Juan Thompson
Stay in DZ unless they need to get a better angle
Ian Parker
>Keisotsu I just looked up what this translates to. JSA is mean
Ethan Cox
Hi guys, I am starting infinity and have Operation Icestorm and Beyond, PanO. If I were looking to expand the collection from this what would you recommend? Played my first 2 games yesterday, after 4 years of not playing any wargames (stopped playing WMC a year before MKIII because I moved to study in another city) and I loved it, the game was really fun and I love the models.
Jack Miller
PanO has a lot of options, what's your playstyle?
Ryder Cooper
>not living in a Catholic fraternity without any material luxury and enjoying extravagant space liturgies daily while making your own beer and living from the land
Justin Robinson
First two games, so I can't say I have one right now. I did enjoy having absurd stats and just gunning the enemy down with high armour HI tho.
Parker Ramirez
Crocmen are nice.
Charles Turner
You should probably try an Aquila Guard/Swiss Guard if you love HI gunship. The first has a more defensive approach, the latter it's the champion of alpha strikes if equipped with a ML
Charles Gonzalez
Does camo cause -MOD against speculative fire attacks?
Connor Jackson
No. Range and spec fire's own mod are the only ones.
Jayden Price
what about cover?
Jeremiah Morgan
Oh yeah, there's also cover mods but unless they're a sapper or have nanoscreen you can just position the template so they don't have cover against it.
Joseph Brown
Templates never give cover bonus to the target.
Noah Cook
That's just the ARM bonus after the hit. Cover between an impact template and the target still gives -3 BS.
Though of course that's irrelevant if you choose to shoot the spot next to your target with spec fire instead of the target itself.
Matthew Walker
Dronbot Remotes. You might even want two boxes. Auxilia and Armbots (either) are good too. Nisse HMG and/or Black Friar for additional MSV2. Support Pack for Doc/Engi and Palbots. Croc Man for infiltration. Maybe Mulebots for EVO hacking and 8pts Baggage Order. Swiss Guard already gives you a godlike heavy hitter, but you may want to consider a TAG in future.
Avoid most Knights and Bolts, Fusilier box is okay, but not essential.
Evan Perry
is the beyond box "worth" it for a pano player that doesn't player nomads? the swiss is a good unit, but I can't get my head around using a bolt medik or a baghmari.
Kevin Foster
That's a Kamau, not a BM. They're both decent either way, cheap mimetic HMGs.
The Bolt is only good for proxying something else though unless you go into NCA.
Evan Parker
New Aristos are previewed.
Aaron Ortiz
I don't play Overwatch, so I can't tell what are they specifically copying, but here's the old guy.
Jacob Nguyen
The musclegirl catboy when?
Aaron Brown
It's more of a combination of A-Team and Adam Jensen from Deus Ex.
Josiah James
The pink-haired Masaai hacker. Embedded file?
Oh right, their leader was Hannibal too.
Joshua Stewart
Necromunda is going to remove Infinity from the face of the Earth. I'm sorry for you furryfags and Weeaboo.
Easton Rodriguez
And, of course, Senor Deadpool.
Noah Reyes
Sure, if you like rolling 5 different things every time one of your models shoots, but don't like having an option to actually choose what to shoot.
Zachary Barnes
How functional would be an Acontacimento list roughly containing 5 Bagh Mari (I'd use the Kamao as the 5th, because what's the difference), Montesa (Father Knight mini), Akali and 3 Orc troops?
Luis Richardson
This. GW is going to win through diversity and representation, CISfinity BTFO.
Dominic Cook
New snipershot. Obviously Szally.
Benjamin Watson
>Muslim trans-woman doctor who fights against the oppressive system
Check your privilege.
Christian Williams
>not plus-sized beauty Nice try, fascist.
Alexander Garcia
Top-heavy. Sounds like a bit of an uphill battle, though I suppose it depends on how you outfit the Bagh-Mari. Could work in some scenarios, but it would be hard, as nearly everything in that list is an order-hog (Bagh-Mari are a bit too expensive to use only as defensive cheerleaders).
Chase Jenkins
EXTRA THICC
Liam Brown
Dunno but when are we getting Nomad TAG resculpts, the fucking Sazalamandra is a awkward as hell.
Logan Flores
Is the fact that every female model made by gw looks like a transvestite implied in this post?
Brandon Williams
Next month.
Eli Carter
So it's either Bagh Mari or the HI? If it was replaced by AC Regulars and a few specialists it would be functional?
Jayden Carter
Oh yeah, Regulars are a glorious defensive fireteam thanks to their Sapper Sniper.
Your list could work, but it would be tricky. Using Regulars as Order base makes things easier.
Aiden Collins
What's getting new sculpts next month exactly though?
Ryder Morgan
You'll never guess!
Tyler Howard
...
Brayden Gutierrez
That looks amazing.
Logan Perry
So it has a HMC instead of a flamethrower now? I guess that's cool though. The model is pretty sexy. Anything else coming next month in general?
Carter Ross
It still has them both. The Flamethrower is on its back.
Juan Thomas
What? Those canister things? Or that gun looking shape inbetween them here
Asher Moore
That gun thing facing upward is the flamethrower.
Nolan Evans
Cool, just need a new Lizard model now, the original one's pose is fucking terrible.
Mason Wilson
Massacre calls people a faggot in this game? SJW's are gonna be pissed...
