Here are the spoilers, so BEWARE!

A large number of Tremere have gone Anarch, lead by Carna. Somehow she has dicovered how the break the clan-wide blood bond, and now the Council of Seven is shitting themselves, with Etrius being described as hysterical.

The entirety of Chicago's kindred (with the exception of the Nos primogen, Khalid) is being controlled by either Menele or Helena, leading to a cold war the likes of which has never been seen before.

Marcus Vitel either survived, or is being impersonated by an incredibly powerful Methuselah. He funds Beckett's charge for the Book of the Grave War, and intends to make Washington D.C. an Anarch territory.

The Camarilla, is planning a counterstrike in the Sabbat East Coast, and is willing to rely on revenants and anarch to make it happen.

Monty Coven is slowly being taken over by Mithras, who is exhilarated he is playing the game from the bottom. He plants to seize power by leaking videos of Queen Anne diablerizing vamps. Beckett discovers that Bindusara saved his ass by using a life boon to spare him from Mithras' wrath in the early 20th century.

>Which of the splats, for you, is the least thematically appropriate for WoD?
As cool as it is, Mummy sometimes feels out of place.

>still Deviant preview
Oh, for fucks sake OP! Even fagness made a new template for you in the previous thread!

Mage and Beast. Too fucking smug to be enjoyable.

Tegyrius and a third of the Assamites plead for refuge from the Camarilla, because of the disturbing dreams of ur-Shulgi returning that they have. Tremere campaign heavily against this. It's implied that Haqim intended to pull a Kaymakli on his own clan before he fell on Torpor.

The Anarch Free States are on the edge of collapse, with the barons making alliances with everybody from the Camarilla to the Kuei Jin to survive.

There is a 16th gen, and even more thinbloods. They have the gift of prophecy. Nothing actually happens in this chapter, basically a re-tread of Time of thin blood.

The sabbat is gearing for a 4th civil war after their regent is assassinated. But SURPRISE!, Galbraith has been dead for decades, killed by Elimelech, and it was only the Tzimisce who was pretending to be her. Several pretenders to the throne are introduced, among them Lucita, championed by her kindred sister.

The black hand(led by Dastur Anosh) and the tal'mahe'ra are waging a shadow war throughout the world.

Without getting into a circlejerk can somebody tell me the difference between Ascending and becoming an Archmage? What are Oracles if they don't want to Ascend?

Talking owod

as someone who has not read the books, I'd assume ascension is where you actually become an Oracle and do Oracle shit, while being an Archmage has you at a sphere(?) at 6 or more, and still on earth

Don't listen to anything fagness tells you to do

Hey man, if you like to complain so much why didn't YOU make it?

Anyway;
Samedi are either a Nosferatu or Cappadocian lineage, though it's heavily implied to be the latter. Lazarus is up and about, and the Cappadocians are not as dead as had been thought, are embracing childer and preparing for a confrontation with the Giovanni.

The Setites have been somehow drawn to the side of the Cappadocians on this, and there are rumors that they plan on calling in the clan-wide clan boon from the Camarilla against the Giovanni.

The anarch Atlantis is as hypocritical as expected, with shadow tribunals and bloody purges if the Vamp populations gets too high.

The Laibon believe that they were the first vampires, and that the European clans descend from them. They believe that Gehenna is only occurring because European elders don't let themselves be diablerized like African ones.

Dracula is planning on killing Kupala. One of his brides, scared that doing this will remove the Tzimisce's powers, steals the shards of his swords and gives them to Beckett.

Bit tired now, will continue later.

where was that thing about prometheans in owod?

Ascension is the act of becoming all-powerful and leaving behind the universe.

Archmastery is having any Sphere above five dots.

Oracles are those Archmages who have found Ascension but decided to not abandon us.

If the Adamantine Arrow isn't boring, why is it so hard to make good NPCs for them?

No. Oracles glimpsed Ascension but turned back from it. They're living saints in the truest sense. So noble that they threw away the greatest prize of all for the sake of giving the Tellurian another chance.

They're just one kind of Archmage.

What's so interesting about archmages that makes you fags keep discussing it?

But hasn't Helena gone east?

Isn't Menele tired of fighting?

>The black hand(led by Dastur Anosh) and the tal'mahe'ra are waging a shadow war throughout the world.

Isn't it pretty much implied that Dastur wipes them the fuck out?

>Samedi are either a Nosferatu or Cappadocian lineage, though it's heavily implied to be the latter.

Menele IS tired of fighting, but Helena has her claws deep in Chicago.

>Isn't it pretty much implied that Dastur wipes them the fuck out?
He is winning the fight, and eliminates the majority of them in Montreal, but the fight is far from over

God fucking damn it, pressed submit accidentally.

Anyway, in the old fluff, it was more or less confirmed the Samedi were a Giovanni experiment with bringing the spirits of the dead into corpses, hence the whole decomposed bodies thing.

>The anarch Atlantis is as hypocritical as expected, with shadow tribunals and bloody purges if the Vamp populations gets too high.

It's Smiling Jack, what did you expect?

>The Laibon believe that they were the first vampires, and that the European clans descend from them. They believe that Gehenna is only occurring because European elders don't let themselves be diablerized like African ones.

It's not diablerie they're talking. The elders don't get diablerized, they just dilute their blood potency by willingly sharing it with the younger, weaker generations, which is supposed to prevent them from becoming inhuman monsters that most Elders and Methuselahs are.

Of course, this is coming from a vampire offshoot of what some might parody as the fictional equivalent of "we wuz kangz" group.

Like I said though, Helena seems to be fucking off to the East, presumably to fight in the Gehenna wars/crusade. Though I don't understand why, given that the majority over there are Sabbat who headed off to find the graves of ancients and diablerize or kill them outright to prevent the Gehenna from coming about.

Didn't Galbraith come to America with Helena? Maybe she has rather Sabbatic leanings?

What would have made CtD a good/popular game?

She did, but Helena abandoned Melinda without a word. I presume this is when she went into torpor after duking it out with Menele.

And given that Galbraith was blood-bonded to Helena, and brought over to the Americas to serve as food for the aging vampire who couldn't feed on regular humans at that point already, I doubt she was fond of Helena. Indeed, much of the Sabbat would oppose Helena for what she was. That's even without bringing up her betrayal of Carthage, regardless of how much of a demon-worshiping shithole it had become near its end.

Beasts make interesting npcs

>Beasts make good target practice

FTFY

Less emphasis on Banality. As it is, the game feels too much like you're playing a dude playing another dude.

Other than that, I'd say there's no real mechanical problems, and the aesthetic was what really fucked it.

Example. Now.

I used one as antagonists in my hunter game and one as a player ally in a vampire games. Nothing especially nuanced but i think it's worked

Not wrong.

How could the Disciplines of the six Clans, which weren't playable in Redemption or Bloodlines, be integrated into video game format without outright breaking the game with some of the shit they can do?

>Quietus is the signature Discipline of the Assamites that grants them influence over the blood of others.
>Serpentis is the trademark Discipline of the Followers of Set clan. It primarily provides shapechanging abilities, though it also encompasses corruption and other characteristics associated with snakes.
>Necromancy is a form of blood magic that deals exclusively with the world of the dead: wraiths and the Shadowlands.
>Obtenebration is the trademark Discipline of clan Lasombra which is the unearthly control over shadows. It is related to the practice of Abyss Mysticism within the clan.
>Chimerstry is the trademark Discipline of the Ravnos that conjures illusions into existence. Such phantom images are as real as the Cainite's skill allows, and will even fool technological sensors.
>Vicissitude is the trademark Discipline of Clan Tzimisce, it is widely known as their art of flesh and bone shaping.

>Quietus is the signature Discipline of the Assamites that grants them influence over the blood of others.
It also allows them to use missile launchers and anti-tank rifles as stealth weapons.

Excuse me, I am completely unfamiliar with VtM, but what??

Can create a zone of silence

There's a Quietus power that makes stuff silent.

And isn't it like the very first power, just one dot of said Discipline?

>Excuse me, I am completely unfamiliar with VtM, but what??

One of the Quietus powers lets the character create a zone of complete silence. If anything makes noise inside of said zone, said noise is nullified.

So, firing a missile launcher (or even driving a tank and using that to shoot buildings) will be completely silent. Of course, it won't be silent after the bullet/missile/whatever hits its target, but at that point they're usually reduced to a fine bloody mist anyway.

>And isn't it like the very first power, just one dot of said Discipline?
Yep.

Higher dots you can move the zone and shit

Which splat has the cutest monsters

Vampire or Mage.
Viccisitude or Life/mind spheres.

>Okulos still got trapped in Kaymakli in BJD version
>a childe of Okulos got killed through their association with Beckett

I can tell this is going to tread familiar paths.

Has anyone read changeling 20th anniversary?

>Has anyone read changeling 20th anniversary?

I have, aye.

Changeling. Hobs come in countless shapes and sizes.

Glanced over to get the general picture, yeah.

>there's actually a Serbian vampire in VtM
>he's a Tzimisce

Not sure why I'm even surprised, given how Tzimisce reign over the Balkans. But I'd think he would be more Old Clan rather than the newer breed.

How good was it? on its own or in comparison to the older versions.

>How good was it? on its own or in comparison to the older versions.

Very decent, in my opinion. It has everything you need to run a proper Changeling the Dreaming game, the art ranged from acceptable to really good imo, and more importantly, it doesn't have loads and loads of sidebars with the devs going "OH HEY, REMEMBER TO BE CONSIDERATE OF YOUR FRIENDS' FOOD HABITS AND MAKE SURE A VEGETARIAN OPTION IS INCLUDED LOL" or shit like that. No Social Justice Warrior bullshit.

It's not ground breaking in any way, but it doesn't need to be. It delivers on the idea of crafting a world where the magic and wonder and awe is slowly slipping away beneath an ocean of mundane thoughts and feelings, and that's all I personally wanted it to do.

Final score I'd give it would be 8/10.

what would you guys use for something like the Kamalas from Fran Bow? Shadow spirit things that feed on fear and despair (while also influencing people's minds)

I was thinking demons from Inferno would work

>Saulot takes over Goratrix
>Tremere going Anarch is probably due to Saulot
>Tremere shitting themselves in fear of Master of Ravens/Saulot

I'm enjoying this.

>sidebars with the devs going [crazyness]
did they actually do this in one of the books? I remember Changing Breeds being pretty shit but nothing like that

>Never forget Mage 20th

What happened there?

Guess who wrote Changing Breeds and M20

Beast guy?

More like Ascension guy, but yes, Satyros.

>it doesn't have loads and loads of sidebars with the devs going "OH HEY, REMEMBER TO BE CONSIDERATE OF YOUR FRIENDS' FOOD HABITS AND MAKE SURE A VEGETARIAN OPTION IS INCLUDED LOL"
That is not that bad.
For fuck sake, I think I have seen more complaining about this than "fathers thrusting cock".

Is it possible to create "artificial" Spirits?

probably.

People eating at my house disgusts me.

yeah

Otherkin shifters that are ecoterrorists, and Gaia's newest line of defense or something
Dog and wolf shifters are totally different than werewolves.
Silly Mages, you don't have real magic, those baboons do!
One of the artists basically created furry porn for one of the art pieces.
Humans are just tricky monkeys and should be shown they shouldn't rape gaia's corpse, flipping back and forth from that to Humans are not part of nature and should be destroyed
Incredibly broken magic rules, iirc cats had a magic thing they could get but it had an impossible requirement.
and lots of other insanity that I can't quite recall.

I am curios, would the well intentioned extremism of progressive sjws cause mundanity to become worse?

So up to Storyteller or very stubborn/suicidal PC?

What is wrong with m20 anyways.

To be fair, everything is up to the players and storyteller on a game to game basis. The books are guide books rather than hard set rules to live by.

>Saulot is now some scheming, evil Antediluvian due to being 'corrupted'
>he uses the promise of Golconda to lure vampires to him so he can enslave them/use them to awaken Caine

Okay, this is just plain bullshit now.

Too much extraneous bullshit taking away from the actual game lore and rules.

Possible if unlikely. Autumn People (walking sources of Banality) only tear others down, treat dreams like garbage and any person who isn't like them as degenerates.

>Otherkin shifters that are ecoterrorists, and Gaia's newest line of defense or something
Other than being otherkin, thats the same as a werewolf.

>Dog and wolf shifters are totally different than werewolves.
Dogs ..... ok. maybe could make sense as being different?

>Silly Mages, you don't have real magic, those baboons do!

The Council of Nine's official stance is that this is racist werewolf propaganda.
Their unofficial stance, is: lmao wat.

>One of the artists basically created furry porn for one of the art pieces.
This is to be expected. Unfortunately.

>Humans are just tricky monkeys and should be shown they shouldn't rape gaia's corpse, flipping back and forth from that to Humans are not part of nature and should be destroyed
That's werewolves as normal for you.

>Incredibly broken magic rules, iirc cats had a magic thing they could get but it had an impossible requirement.
Poorly thought out powers or printing error?

>and lots of other insanity that I can't quite recall.
Is that good or bad?

>Katherine Weise
>has a vampire named Christof serving her
>he speaks in ye olde english

Gee, I wonder who could this be.

That said, I wonder if they just removed the whole Anezka plot with Christof.

I loved Christof. He was so damn over the top all the time.
>God strike thee down, she-devil! EARTH HAS NO ROOM FOR SUCH AS THEE!

TO THE ABYSS WITH THEE!

That aside, I love when he and Anezka dance around their love for each other back when they were still human.

'Tis an amulet of Saint Jude
Oh sir~

Unlikely to have any significant effect I'd say.
Really nutty SJW stuff (like a serious believer in /pol/ crap, but leftist) is mostly a minority.

Could Fordite be used as the material for a Mastigos tool?

As of C20 Sidhe get a permanent two dot bonus to appearance across all forms that automatically from character creation raises their minimum rating in appearance to pretty and their maximum to inhumanly blinding. Whenever they go into the Wyrd they also stun people for a number of turns equal to their dots in appearance unless the targets can all win on a willpower check of eight. So I guess objectively speaking it'd have to be them from an in-universe perspective, but let's not pretend that the Nosferatu aren't basically puppies on steroids.

oh no, those aren't the views of werewolves, the whateverthefucktheshiftersarecalled are were those views come from.
in fact the dog/wolf shifters don't like the werewolves for reasons I don't understand

also, very poorly thought out powers regarding their magic

and if it's good or bad news depends on how much insanity you want

>If your character takes damage in one of her rightmost Health boxes, take a Beat.

>rightmost health boxes

There's only one row of health boxes so only one right most health box. Is this a typo?

Are you dumb?

Rightmost would be the one furthest on the right...

>Serpentis
easy enough
>Quietus
easy enough
>Obtenebration
easy enough
>Chimerstry, Necromancy, Vicissitude
impossible without pretty much completely changing them

actually now that I think about it necromancy could be done pretty decently, at least the Sepulchure and Bone paths

>Dog and wolf shifters are totally different than werewolves

Anyone reading this might as well stop there. Unless you're counting coyotes and shit as dogs and wolves for some strange reason, this is factually incorrect and just skimming through the actual book could show you there's none in Changing Breeds 20th. The only dog shapeshifters in Werewolf are fanmade and add nothing to the setting that Bone Gnawers, Metis, and Ronin don't. As for wolf shifters, the only ones other than Garou are Pentex War Wolves that are nothing more than mindless mooks, and those aren't in Changing Breeds needless to say -- they're in Book of the Wyrm. It should also be kept in mind that 90% of White Wolf stuff is written from, to some extent, the perspective of the supernatural they're covering. You might as well pick up a Technocracy convention book and start talking about how unfairly it portrays the Traditions while you're at it.

Anyway, don't listen to this guy's ramblings. Pick up the book from the pastebin, give it a read, and form your own thoughts on it. The Werewolf 20th Anniversary stuff is actually pretty good. Even the fucking Samuel Haight book of all things somehow miraculously avoided autism.

Then why is it plural in the fucking book?

The health boxes are separate from each other. There's one for each health level, not one gigantic health box, hence health boxes.

Wait is this oWoD?

I was assuming you meant an oWoD book yeah. Since you didn't specify what book you were talking about in the original post and CofD has health circles.

I am actually different dude. Does oWoD have Beats?

No.

Beats are a 2e CofD thing

Nah I'm just retarded and blind. oWoD represents health loss in / (Bashing), X (Lethal) and * (Aggravated).

So does CofD. We mark those in boxes under health dots. That's why we call them health boxes.

Oh, nevermind the blind part then. I got confused for a second as to what was meant by beats.

talking about the new world of darkness changing breeds, old world is a great book, not disputing that.
New world changing breeds? Hot dog shit

I think there is a misunderstanding, the post you replied to is talking about nWoD Changing Breed that was written by Phil Brucato and is really trash.

If you want to laugh/cringe, see the FATAL and friends review of it: projects.inklesspen.com/fatal-and-friends/kurieg/changing-breeds/

best review I've ever read

>the Ravnos/Hazimel part where they talk of fighting against the asuratziyya/Kuei-Jin shits

This is fucking glorious.

Oh shit, my bad. I've been spilling spaghetti out of my pockets all over the floor today. I'll check out the review for sure: I remember reading their Beast review and dying of both.

Gone for two days and all the retards have returned.

Asking questions but not saying what edition, and all sorts of shit. Good job I'm back.

Deviant and Geist should be the new flagships for OPP.

Look at this guys bad attempt at trolling

Not even a "and here is why"

Vampires can't be cute

If an Archmage and Caine sat down for Mario Kart

Who would win?

There is some decent art to be found in this. Shame about the resolution.
