One is -2 to saves, the other is not.
A space marine saves the S10 hit on a 3+, the S6 hit on a 5+ with a small blast.
It's actually fairly balanced, with the S6 hit being more useful for groups.

The fall ignores *all* armor saves instead of just having a -2 modifier, though. I mean, I guess it'd be useful against... Was anything in 2e 4+/5++ or 3+/4++? I don't see a scenario in which -2 to saves doesn't come out with an equal or better number in the end than ignoring armor saves entirely.

If it's true they're not releasing the other four major gangs until 2018 then that's a huge fuck up. Lots of people who played the old game (let's assume 4 out of 6, to pick a number out the air) will be waiting for the gang they collected before, but they risk all the hype dying if those people don't get into the game now.

Also the whole terrain nonsense. They've released 8th edition starter sets with cardboard terrain (well, a box, pic related) this year, so why not reprint the cardboard terrain for necromunda?
