I'm looking at expanding my infinity to include dronbots for my pano. They look like older sculpts. Are blue boi dronbots hard to work with modeling/transport-wise?

They're a bit tricky to get onto the base, but I've had no problems with them, and I used 4 Dronbots, 2 Bulleteers and 2 Mulebots.
Still, good to have a gel-type glue handy when playing.

Lads show me your SAA lists, I want to know how to expand into the sectorial from what I've got.

We reaaaly need updated models for all core bots

Naw, I like the dronebots. Way better than zondbots

I just cycle through everything desu.

Do we though? There are dozens of old humanoid models with weird scales, proportions and guns, while the robots are fine as is.

Do you mean Zonds? They are ugly as shit (though it's mostly the fat legs, Meteor looks way better). Zondbots are the monkey-like G: Servants.

do drones stop working when you lose your last hacker?

n

We really need bigger monthly releases. The only thing I don't like about this game are how slow those damn Spaniards sometimes are

>We really need bigger monthly releases.
Do you mean something like GW does, where each month is a lot of shit for one faction (is it still alternating between AoS and 40k?) and everyone else gets shit all? Personally I prefer CB's model of small releases for 5 faction each month + repacks. While it means your stuff gets drip-fed, it also means you don't have to wait half a year for a new release at all. With the sectorials in place it could be really bad if say the next Nomad release was all Tunguska and you're a Bakunin player, so you'd have to wait for 2 years for anything new.

I do realize some sectorials have been waiting for years to get anything new

I mean instead of like 5-6 models per month more like 10-12. They can expand now, afaik the company is pretty successful

Expanding might be nice, but only if it's in service of something big like a new game. Expansion for its own sake is dangerous, I'd rather CB not get poisoned by corporate bullshit.

maybe what they need isn't more people but fewer siestas, and a little bit better security so they don't have to worry about GW employed arsonists

I don't play Shock but the things that give me headaches are linked regular sappers and nagas.

SKU bloat is pretty bad as it already is, double the releases and they run out of things to sculpt and have to start making new stuff.

>SKU bloat is pretty bad as it already is
>they don't even have models for all of their units

Thats a great line of logic, it makes loads of sense.

But fuck your logic. I want varuna, i want tunguska, i want the invincible army. I want linkable zuyongs dammit.
Every wargame has things the playerbase waits for. Most games ive played i want better rules for a given faction or updated model crunch.
In infinity i just want whats hinted at to be finished.

Zuyongs, grenzers, and kameu all want to be linkable. And i want it.

wat?

there was a big fire in the same town as CB headquarters a few weeks back. These generals joked that it was started by Games Workshop in an attempt to put CB out of business, after local investigation found arson to be the cause.

You see? It's pretty bad.

so repack groups of 4-5 blisters into boxed sets to reduce the overall sku count by a lot, start putting TAG pilots in with the tags, etc. That would reduce SKU count a lot, enough for them to then add more SKUs

What would Grenzers get out of a link? I don't see the point of taking one now, how would taking multiples make them better? They seem like the same class as bolts to me, expensive but without useful skills. Shame they look so badass.

>I don't see the point of taking one now
Only because Intruder and Knauf exist. Take that away in a sectorial and what do you get? A pretty good BS13 MI with Sniper Rifle, Missile Launcher (probably their best profile) and Sensor.
Not sure I'd take a full link, but a Haris with Sensor and ML or Spitfire? Sure!

>repack anything
>a horde of bitter neckbeards react like it's an end of the World
Makes starting a game even harder, resculpting anything more complicated process and just putting everything to boxes would probably take even more shelf space.

Interestingly enough, Blackjack box have a regular unit dossier instead of the more stylized art cropped onto its side, like all the boxes I've seen.

Huh, yeah, what's up with that? Think the release was too rushed to commission a stylized piece like the usual boxed releases?

so what are they supposed to do then? Just squat a faction?

GW sculptor go home!

The Kuang Shi box comes with 4 sets of chain rifle arms and one boarding shotgun arm set right?

where are this guy's arms? is he an amputee?

Perhaps a console within the chest?

robot armor, the dude could easily be an amputee.

ripped off by antipodes

I figured they'd get the same thing all medium infantry get out of links. Greater mobility and firepower. With sensor and their weapon diversity and fireteam bonuses, i feel grenzers core would be bad news for anything midfield but a tag, and probably tags too.
Grenzers seemed to me like bolts, wildcats, or more like bagh mari. And they all improve with links.
They felt like zuyongs. Just begging for a link team and another scupt or two.
And maybe a number 2 profile. Cause i dont want my scary jackbooted Austrian security guards to break just cause the pointman died.
Actually grenzers do seem to be the same archtype as bagh mari now that i think about it more. And bag men get a number 2 in their sectoral.

Can confirm yes. I have a spare set of BSG arms from that set.

>is he an amputee?

I want this forced meme to die,

The model is much smaller than it looks. He would probably fit into the suit fine.

>it lets you move+move to someone from behind or in smoke to tie someone up in cc without having to spend additional orders or taking a free aro
Won't your opponent get an ARO on the second move because models in base contact with each other have LOF to each other?

If im new and wanting to buy a rulebook should I get both the N3 rule book and the Human Sphere book? Or does the Human Sphere book supersede the standard N3?

You need both, but if you cant afford the 2, just buy n3, human shpere its just an appendix for fireteams, sectorials and other skills

Both the N3 core rulebook and the human sphere n3 book. Think of it as an expansion pack that's not really optional.

Don't forget both books are free online officially.

infinitythegame.com/resources/downloads

infinitythewiki.com/en/Main_Page

Awesome, thanks lads.

I'm also wanting the books for the lore so buying them is a thing instead of just getting the rules online, which is awesome btw. Fucking GW would never give us that for 40k

>bolts, wildcats
Two units widely regarded as not worth their points. They aren't Bagh Mari because they don't have mimetism. No one will be afraid of Grenzer links because they have no defensive or durability abilities.

Second bullet of stealth:

A trooper with Stealth that declares a Short Movement Skill or Cautious Movement within the Zone of Control of one or more enemies but outside their LoF does not grant AROs to those enemies, even if he reaches base contact with them.

Even if he reaches base contact with them. So no if they just move move into your back arc you don't get an ARO.

>No one will be afraid of Grenzer links because they have no defensive or durability abilities.
>MSV1
>LFT
>Sensor
>ARM 3 BTS 6
>BS 13

Ahawhaw, i disagree mate

And stop comparing units from different faction m8s, its stupid. If you wan't a comparison, use someone from the same faction.

>get into Aleph, really like Vedic units
>Vedic never ever
>keep flip-flopping on whether I want to commit to SP or not
>afraid I might have slightly damaged my Myrmidons by leaving them in Simple Green too long; can't remember if those pockmarks were always there or the weird early CAD sculpts were just shit like that
>don't like Myrmidons anyways; those rumored Hoplites or Thorakitai SWC box could convince me to stick with it, but we'll probably never get those either and I'd rather have more Vedic first
>want to try CA or flesh out my Icestorm Nomads but keep thinking of all the money I plunked down on Aleph
>even then, I prefer Shasvastii and Tunguska, so I would be stuck waiting an eternity for Acheron Falls no matter what I do
Damn Chileans and their damn siestas.

I painted a bounty hunter. It's not good.

Just run vanilla ALEPH for now.
And make people cry about the posthumans.

Don't be so hard on yourself user! It looks pretty good to me.

Are Yaokong remotes on a 40mm or 55mm base?

The flesh tone changes are done so well... and then the edge highlighting looks like it was done by a completely different person. If you just revisited that the quality would jump so much.

Based on the silhouette size. S3 is the 40mm base. S4 is 55mm. Check in army.

40mm.

WIP 13 BTS 6 and no fucking hacker profile
a haris option would be neat
would allow you to drag a FO around with a power weapon (spit or missile) plus whatever the Haris profile would have

Who tried Aristeia? Is it good or just memes?

Don't forget the sensor on that FO. Grenz haris will be good stuff.

Myrmidons are not CAD sculpted.

Anyone run a multiple light TAG list? With the new changes to TAGs Geckos actually seem worth running-- 0.5 SWC DAM 16 cannon attached to a twinned assault pistol specialist looks like a fun idea. How doyou build a list around this since CJC TAGs don'ttake support pieces like other do, they aren't usually worth repairing.

Was thinking
Iguana
Gecko MK 12
Gecko Twin Combi
Bandit KHD
Moran FO
Daktari
Clockmaker
Alguacile LT
Alguacile ML
Alguacile Hacker as a 3 linked core

Why bi helperbots?

*no helperbots

>dissing wildcats
ill fight u m8, swear on me mum! Only thing overcosted is the HRL.

Well that explains quite a bit, then. At what point did they start CAD sculpts for Aleph?

>HRL
>overcosted

Pretty sure that user specifically means the SWC2. It's some bullshit desu, especially when FUCKING MUYIBS get their special snowflake SWC1 HRL.

>haqq getting things cheaper
Nothing new here.
t. usarf player pating 1 SWC for A FUCKING HARIS

It's especially bullshit considering every other Light Infantry pays 1.5 SWC for HRL.

That's just a result of Marauders getting their shit early, before the standard haris cost was decided on.

And Haqq overall is fine, Muyibs also happen to outclass every other option in their sectorial. Given free reign I'd give them quite a few more little nerfs (and they'd still be fantastic afterwards) but they really need 1.5 SWC on their spitfire and HRL more than anything.

>That's just a result of Marauders getting their shit early, before the standard haris cost was decided on.
It's still strange that they didn't fix it. It's not 40k, CB can change it anytime they want.

Ran out of points-- the above is 6 SWC, 300 points

So, what are you betting on for being the Polish Independence Day mini this year? It's tomorrow.

Probably another thing with a bad implication. It's hard to top a criminal alien, so maybe Teutonic Knights? Although it's probably just a random recent release they'd like to promote, like the Shikami.

lol,renegade red monkey=Pole.

Shut the fuck up, you get everything cheap, SWC is the main limitation of your sectorial.

Another Smolensk monthlyversary? :^)

>so maybe Teutonic Knights
Actually that's one of Polish references in Infinity, namely their Polish offfshoot - the Brothers of Dobrzyń. But the Teutons are basically seen as the archetype of German invader so *shrug*

>Kazak anti-air unit gets released tomorrow

New terrain: birch tree, ARM 10, STR 10

Fun fact: the birch is one of Russia's national symbols.
Coincidence? I THINK NOT

Wasn't Shikami already used for this?

I said like the Shikami, not the Shikami. Difference.

Patience is a virtue and you may as well commit to various things as multiple factions is still kind of cheap the way wargames go.

This is exactly what i meant. Its just as bad a the spitfire prowler 2SWC. MI should not be paying for things as if they are HI.

If Prowler was 1.5 SWC for a Spitfire, he'd be a solid choice that still has a lot of competition. But with 2 when Intruder and Moira pay 1.5 for an HMG? Nah. It's too bad his model is so cool.

Daily remimder that THICC is beautiful

What if Blackjack is a girl

That sounds like a job for Hardcase.

It's not bad either.

Anyone here play the Infinity RPG? I have a group that wants to play, so I've been checking out the rules.

I have a decent handle on the Heat/Momentum economy, but looking over the combat system, the damage system seems curiously...nonlethal.

A rifle hits an unarmored human causing 1 point of damage, plus 5 "damage dice". The damage dice do no damage on a 3, 4, or 5, one on a 1, two on a 2, and one and an "effect" on a 6. So on a strictly average roll, it wll do 3 or 4 points of damage...and t takes 5 to cause a "Harm".

So a point black shot from a rifle to an unarmored man does practically nothing?

Am I missing something?

>Am I missing something?
Yes, the Stress track. Running out of Stress gives you a Harm too, and it doesn't automatically recover, you have to take Recover actions. If you run out of Stress, every damaging hit causes a Harm.

PCs and Nemeses are hard to kill. Regular NPCs are much easier, because you only have to do one Harm to incap them (two if they're Elites).

So Templates weapons specifically say that you get a -3 mod to dodging if you have no lof to the attacker. Under direct templates is also says "Affected troopers can Dodge the Attack of a Direct Template Weapon by passing a Normal PH Roll (or PH-3 in the cases mentioned previously under Effects)."

infinitythewiki.com/en/Template_Weapons_and_Equipment#Direct_Template_Weapons

Is it safe to assume that in regard to template weapons you're able to ignore the requirement that says you need lof to declare a dodge?
infinitythewiki.com/en/Dodge

You can always dodge a template. If you don't have lof the dodge is on -3.

That doesn't change anything though.

Average unwounded Bob with 9 Brawn has a Vigor of 8. Fred shoots Bob with a rifle for average damage of 3 or 4, reducing his Vigor stress to 4 or 5. This doesn't take his Stress below 0, and doesn't cause more than 5 damage to get a "Harm" result.

So an average rifle shot doesn't significant injure an unarmored, average human?

Has no one else thought about this? Anyone use any house rules for this?

>So an average rifle shot doesn't significant injure an unarmored, average human?
Because he didn't take the rifle shot dead on, dingus.
>Losing Vigour represents near-misses, grazes, cuts, scrapes, bruises, and otherwise inconsequential injuries, which are an annoyance but not a hindrance.

Are you one of those guys who, on seeing a guy take 10 arrows to kill in D&D because you keep rolling 1s, concludes that the target now looks like a pincushion, not that you never really hit him well?

Did you somehow miss the "Average roll" part of the post? You don't think and "Average" hit from a rifle shouldn't take out an unarmored human?

The damage dice only cause damage on half the faces. A 3, 4, or 5 on a die does nothing.

The damage paradigm seems far too low.

So, just to check out the probabilities, I did a quick spread on a standard pistol. It does 1 + 3dice damage, and has the vicious quality, so it does an extra point on a roll of 6.

It order to cause a "Harm", you have to score 5 points of damage. The probability of scoring 5 points of damage on 3 damage dice (+1) is 25.9%.

So, does it make sense that one only has a 26% chance to take out someone with a standard, medium caliber pistol?

Without the vicious quality, it's even worse. A knife does 1+3d as well, but lacks the vicious quality. The chance of rolling 5 damage to cause a harm condition? 12.9%

So, I generally like the system, metacurrency and all, but I just feel the damage system needs work. I was wondering if anyone who actually plays the game has noticed this and has a house rule or work around? Doubling the damage dice? Changing it so a 5 does damage on a roll? Any ideas?

I mean a Heavy Machinegun is listed at 2+5d damage! An average roll with a 0.50 caliber machinegun barely wounds an unarmored human?

>You don't think and "Average" hit from a rifle shouldn't take out an unarmored human?
One unaugmented by Momentum or Reloads or Exploit? In a live fire situation, with no real aiming (which would be Exploit and the Momentum gained from it)?

That base damage represents the bare minimum success in actually hitting the guy.

user, you're talking about one-shotting the average man into unconsciousness.
