A more fun BW Legendary Vampire.
Isaiah Butler
>Ghalta Storm memes aside, what else are you hoping to see from Rivals of Ixalan?
More good dinos for Gishath. That's pretty much it. Maybe a BW Vampire Queen card.
Ethan Roberts
>Ghalta Storm memes aside, what else are you hoping to see from Rivals of Ixalan? Another Grixis pirate legend and another Naya Dinosaur one as well. Variety is always nice. I want to play Grixis pirates but 4+ people at my store have all done variations on the Beckett Brass deck.
James Myers
The elder dinosaur art is boring and uninspired. Wizards shitty art direction is so bad that they can't make a mage dinosaur cool.
Luke Mitchell
I also have a beckett list, but it seems like I can't win a single game if I try to keep the pirate flavour going. The commander's ability is just meh and pirates itself are weak.
Adrian Rogers
>a mage dinosaur cool
It's not a mage, elder just means it's real fucking old.
Parker Torres
Hoe about they print an actual pirate legendary, not a granny dressed as Napoleon.
Brandon Gomez
Make*
Writing on a phone with my sausage fingers.
Evan Ramirez
More reprints of Merfolk.
A vampire lord in white or Mardu would be cool. i would love to see one that gave all vampires lifelink or vigilance.
More of the flip land cards. I just really like how the lands look and most of my decks can fit in at least 1
William Roberts
>Ghalta Storm memes aside, what else are you hoping to see from Rivals of Ixalan? more vampires edgar needs to be op as fuck
Angel Rogers
What's a commander that has multiple paths to victory and never has a game feel the same twice in a row? Hardmode, no chaos or blue
William Miller
I love how they centered a whole block of merfolks around the +1/+1 counters mechanic and then said "fuck it, we'll go back to the normal +1 +1". Fuck Wizards
David Howard
I second this.
Julian Gomez
How does Veeky Forums feel about the gold bordered world championship deck versions of expensive cards? Pic attached is my most recent purchase.
Luis Hernandez
they actually look nice. I have a gold bordered rishadan ports for my EDH pirate deck because no one in my playgroup is autistic enough to spend all of that money on a single card so they allow gold bordered ones
Colton Reed
I want to build a Damia deck. Seems fun with stuff like Bottled Cloister and Chasm Skulker.
Is she viable at all?
What kind of stuff should I use? Can someone give a sample list? I’ve never played edh before so I don’t know what sort of stuff to run and edhrec is unhelpful. Like I have Necropotence and Sylvan Library but I don’t know aside from stuff like that what to run in terms of creatures.
Pic to make you look.
Christopher Jones
Run this. Trust me.
Carter Peterson
Mfw when I used to be autistic enough to pay for the real thing.
Nicholas Scott
>thread question Get rid of all tribal support. Every set besides Kaladesh has had unplayable shit
Jordan Jackson
Fuck I had these and sold them because they’re like 10¢
Tyler Phillips
I let my buddy play with backwards cards and a slip of paper with the card name written on it so that would be an improvement. Sometimes he doesn't flip them over when the card also serves as a placeholder to placate proxy snobs. It takes me a second to override the impulse to correct him when he mana drains a spell and shows me a memory lapse.
Eli Cox
Still cheap as dirt
Matthew Reyes
I want more pirates. No one near me has built it yet, so I want to be the one, but there's just not quite enough yet to be really playable.
Jason Gutierrez
You missed out man. Pushing .18 these days.
Austin Hughes
>sold them because they’re like 10¢
That seems like a very silly reason to sell them.
Robert Young
It’s the shipping that kills me. They take up binder space and I don’t hold onto stuff that’s less than a dollar or a mythic when a set rotates out.
Charles Rogers
>They take up binder space
Why not just keep a card box for bulk rares? It has to be annoying having to order random tech cards like this because you sold them off.
Christian Nguyen
>It’s the shipping that kills me. No LGS's nearby? A lot of them will even have "Buy X bulk shit, get Y discount". >They take up binder space and I don’t hold onto stuff that’s less than a dollar or a mythic when a set rotates out. You're much better off throwing all of those into a shoebox if it's not obvious draft chaff or overcosted trash. I've got a "maybe" box that I might end up making a "strictly mediocre" cube out of eventually. Dumping cards because they're not worth anything is like offloading your old games to Gamestop for pennies on the dollar. If it's standard rotation that you're working around, sell out at least 3 months before rotation, not after.
Hunter Rivera
I need some anti-flyer cards for my doran deck because I keep getting tossed by alesha decks poking me down
any suggestions? I already have pic related
Jace Ross
The enchantment that gives +0/+1 and reach to all your creatures, I think it's called spidersilk armor?
Mason Diaz
Arashi, the Sky Asunder Gravity Well Hurricane Spidersilk Armor Squall Line Whirlwind Windstorm

Doom Blade Go For the Throat Dismember Swords to Plowshares Path to Exile Lightning Bolt Flame Slash Wrath of God Damnation Blasphemous Act
Lincoln Lopez
That’s true. I’m afraid of rubber bands fucking up the sides though. They don’t carry cards like that. It’s mostly a modern shop with some standard $5 rares. Like it’s maybe a 20’ x 15’ front with a walk in closet for storage.
Leo Brooks
Instant speed lets you get some serious blowouts.
Camden Price
Alright Veeky Forums
What do I store my decks in? I have 10+ different decks, that I need to start treating better.
But what do I use to store that many decks? Is there something both travel friendly and secure?
Nathan Ross
Get the meme hardware store boxes. Despite being a meme, they are quite good.
Logan Rivera
Ultimate Guard Boulder cases are great. They're very secure, cheap, and take up almost no unnecessary space.
Anthony Jenkins
Gallon size ziplocks are perfect. If you care about keeping the individual decks together, wrap them in tinfoil before adding them to the bag. Including some orange peel will make them smell nice and prevent brown spots.
Dylan White
user plz.
I will look into these. I was hoping for something larger, I'd rather not tote all these individual cases, but ill figure something out.
Carter Ortiz
I'm in a similar boat. I have 11 EDH decks and 5 60-card decks that I keep in 6 fat-pack boxes and shove in my backpack. It works, but I'm out of space for more boxes.
Also, if you do go this route, Swiss Gear backpacks are the best thing ever. Mine is pushing a decade old and holds up like a dream.
Blake Butler
So tomorrow this guy who hasn't played since 2014 wants to join in our group, he's very casual according to him so we are gonna play low powered decks to ease him in. Only thing I have remotely casual is this shit tappedout.net/mtg-decks/mad-ogre-mage/ How does it look?
Thomas Perry
>I’m afraid of rubber bands fucking up the sides though.
I just bought a bunch of penny sleeves and sleeve up my rares. You can comfortably fit around 6-8 copies of a card in a single penny sleeve, and uncomfortably fit about 13-15 at most, so I keep playsets or more per sleeve for ease of organization. Then they're pretty much completely protected from wear for extremely little cost.
Gabriel Morgan
None of the Walmarts in my area sell penny sleeves. Guess I'm the only one buying them here.
Jason Miller
Checked Targets?
Josiah Richardson
The few here, yes. I'm seriously thinking about buying a box or something online.
Zachary Jenkins
You can usually order them at a bit of a discount if you buy like 400/800/1000 sleeves at once. I think I bought 1000 for $800 a while back and they haven't run out yet.
I also use them to keep a small box full of token "packs", where I put 4-13 copies of a token into a single penny sleeve (13 being the Zombie tokens), and it's very convenient.
Austin Moore
>swords into plowshares >it's actually a gardening hoe
Adrian Allen
And it's backwards.
Jose Turner
They were a solider, not a farmer. Cut them some slack.
Justin Miller
>1000 for $800 Boy did you over pay.
Robert Turner
Yes, it is my greatest regret.
Carson Sanders
Anyone got some secret tech for this wonderful Blacula?
I'm currently brewing her as life-swapping/gaining shenanigans, but that "once per turn" clause is really making me rethink it and just go with Selenia. Red doesn't seem to offer that much anyway.
Daniel Adams
I think 4 allied color legends would be much much better
Jonathan Sullivan
Teysa or Hapatra, lads?
Hunter James
Are you serious? Holy shit.
You could just find a packing shop, and buy cheap plastic sleeves. They cost a couple dollars for a pack of 500. You probably won't find a size that has a good fit, but they are cheap as fuck and will protect your cards as well as an expensive sleeve.
Kevin Rogers
How janky do you want your deck? Depending on the Teysa, you are going for extra jank.
Robert Sanders
...
Ryder Ortiz
Anything that doubles the life you gain and then anything that lets you spend life for abilities.
Don't give up on red, you can dole out some nasty Earthquakes due to having massive amounts of health
Ryan Moore
Guess penny sleeves, yeah.
Anyone else for this?
Ryder Lee
>Are you serious? Holy shit.
No, sorry, I was playing into the joke.

>heh yes, a joke >i would never pay $800 for penny sleeves >just a joke guys >don't look at me like that
Michael Hill
Who do you guys enjoy partnering most with Vial Smasher?
Jacob Collins
I unironically played Tymaret combo, which runs VERY similarly to Teysa.
Cameron Richardson
any mechanics you want to see return in the dominaria set? i'm hoping for rebate cards, but they're probably considered too broken
Lincoln Russell
>thread question A good Selesnya or Jund legendary creature because we need one BADLY

>anything from Urza block coming back Nah dude, that's serious wishful thinking.
Ayden Martin
Absolutely fucking not. The entire Urza block design team was yelled at for making cards like that.
Brandon Taylor
>silently glares Is Trostani player always like that or did you activate his almonds too much?
Owen Mitchell
I would nut.
GWfags get the rope.
Bentley Walker
I just made a phelddagrif deck and I can't wait to use it. Other than that a Nekusar deck that my friends absolutely HATE
Michael Martinez
user, it never happened.
William Morgan
So I'm going to build a fourth deck and I don't want to buy another deck box. How does /edhg/ store their decks?
Eli Turner
Gallon size ziplocks.
Benjamin Gomez
Cheetos bags.
James Green
>i'm hoping for rebate cards, but they're too broken
Fixed that for you.
Evan Ramirez
>expecting time spiral or modern master 2013 levels of love I expect nothing
Luis Jones
I use a bunch of deckboxes personally, but I've seen people swear by this thing.
Juan Robinson
I mean, I can't actually think of a way that someone could end up doing that. Like, if you bought them from a store or ordered them online, how would you even go about somehow paying $792 more than the asking price?
Evan Wood
>plays Nekusar >considers his playgroup "friends" It's not mutual.
Landon Long
Is Aggravated Assault essential in Xenagos? It seems great but I am trying to keep the deck as cheap as I can and buying a $10+ card for a cheap deck seems silly to me
Isaac Fisher

>allied colored vampires >allied colored merfolk Naw. Vona and Tishana are both terrible. Both tribes need another legend in BW/UG and neither tribe needs to splash a color.
Depends on your goals for the deck really. Both make a pretty solid Grave Pact deck. Teysa is great for combo, and Hapatra seems to be great for going wide. I need more time with Hapatra though, I'm sure there's plenty of untapped combo potential.
>Spending life Any examples? I have Necropotence and not much else. The life swapping effects are already pretty high CMC too, so I'm trying to keep it low. >earthquakes True enough, I'll stick with it.
Josiah Turner
You got it, boss.
Slow-trips would be nice, but extremely unlikely.
It broke my heart when Thaumatic Compass was revealed. It made me choose between being suboptimal or replacing my kite. Even if I'm suboptimal, now, my decks still work well enough.
Austin Long
>anything from Urza block coming back >Nah dude, that's serious wishful thinking. Sleeping Enchantments, Growing Enchantments, Auto-resurrect Auras, Cycling, Echo, and spells with "Untap Lands" clauses (though not full rebate, see Pore over the Pages for modern version) have all returned at least once.
Well, maybe not sleeping enchantments, I can't think of any off the top of my head.
Aiden Long
what even is a low power deck? do all your non-basics enter tapped, or what?
Connor Russell
>Well, maybe not sleeping enchantments, I can't think of any off the top of my head. Theros Gods?
Nathan Lopez
>self-mill and reanimator in mono-W What?
Dylan Stewart
>Echo
Doubt it. Echo tested really poorly with players, since downside mechanics pretty much always do. It's an 8 on the Storm Scale.
Dominic Martinez
I'm looking to get into foil proxying with the inkjet window decals. The major promoted product, which was office depot's have been discontinued. Anyone have alternatives to suggest?
What are the best quality foils of the lastest sets? I'm hesitant to buy foils from AMK on because of poor cardboard quality, but is KLD/AER fine?
I mill myself (Mesmeric Orb, Sands of Delerium, etc) / toss my hand (Null Brooch, Peace of Mind, Loot effects) and res fat angels for cheap off of a number of white's res effects (Bruna, Karmic Guide, Emeria, etc)
I wouldn't call it competitive, since it isn't at all fast, but it's pretty resilient. Certain tables at my LGS justify its off-handed approach.
Christian Ward
>Thaumatic Compass I completely had no idea they printed a strictly better kite... wow...
Juan Parker
Spending life to draw is great in life gain decks, Phyrexian Arena and Greed are good for that. Phyrexian Reclaimation is great to get your asshole lifegain creatures back. The other BW XLN vampire Vona is great. Sanguine Bond and Exquisite Blood is insane too.
Adam White
Doesn't change that it very much DID come back (In Time Spiral, admittedly)
