11 Mana cost combo that depends on 3 cards. It is a decent combo but not really that great.
Someone post a infinite Mana loop and someone post a kill on first turn combo.
Jonathan Nelson
No, Urborg has a colorless color identity.
Daniel Bailey
>no title
Henry Evans
If you run enough cards like Glacial Chasm, Maze of Ith, or Bazaar, you could benefit from playing Urborg regardless of the actual color of the deck you're playing. It's completely legal, even if some people will scratch their heads at it.
Ian Edwards
Have read the edition of this thread by any chance?
Justin Jackson
Anyone got a solid 75% Wort list?
is manamorphosise as good for her as it seems?
Evan Carter
That's nice so that combo could be run with Elesh Norn as commander, too bad Dovescape is UW
Jeremiah Martin
Hm? Tap two dudes to get two mana and draw a card once? Nah, that doesn’t seem great. Good flavor though.
Anthony Peterson
>Thread question >Favourite monocolour commander? Patron of the Moon. Also write a title next time.
Alexander Gray
No, that would be tap two dudes, get 4 mana any color and draw two. It's a good cantrip but I prefer bigger rituals in Wort.
It probably includes Paradox Engine and some rituals for a huge Fireball of some sort.
Landon Turner
You forgot the subject, you double nigger
Christopher Lopez
>Favorite mono colored commander Kamahl, fist of Krosa
>Thread Question Kira, Great Glass Spinner. Completely unstoppable 1v1, too fast for a 4 player group to handle, and just janky enough to smash face with a weird control/midrange game plan. Fucking Guile and Spellskite man.
Joseph Fisher
>Favourite mono Bruna, Fading Light
Typos on cards, and seems kinda contrived compared to stuff like planechase / archenemy. I'll say as a rule in general, if it REQUIRES commander, it's probably shite, or at least very leery.
Gabriel Baker
Post list pls, enlighten me senpai
Thomas Flores
>Favourite monocolour commander? b:walker nob w: heliod god of the sun u: Muzzio, Visionary Architect r: Heartless Hidetsugu g: n/a i hate playing mono green
of these its really close between walker nob and heartless both decks are really fun for casual as fuck tables
Juan Baker
>You're fucking meme [[insert meme here]]
Joshua Roberts
>letting people steal my secret tech that easily Honestly user it's super easy and straight forward. The deck has three main components: counterspells, ramp, and fatties. You play Kira t3 every game, ramp into something fuckhuge, and laugh as your opponents cant do anything about your Jin-Gitaxias/Blightsteel/Stormtide Leviathan/Ulamog. The biggest trick is having a fuckton of ways to get dead draws out of your hand, or running few enough wincons to cantrip your way to victory. I've run both versions, and while the cantrip version is more consistent, the tons of fatties version can set up some shenanigans if you work it right.
Ayden Baker
>Thread Question Bosh Iron Golem is the best mono red artifact general fight me.
Blake Phillips
So I'm building r/w angels tribal, these cunts are so expensive to cas should I just go for Kaalia instead? Surely there has to be a good way to actually get to the 6-9 mana range before I'm dead right?
Parker Martin
>being this whiny
Eli Reed
>r/w angels tribal yeah its going to suck bad idea etc etc etc. if you want a r/w angels deck that isnt just hoping to not die the first 7 turns of the game r/w avacyn is a good option but you will need a decent amount of non-angel creatures that both fill out the lower part of your curve and also help flip her
Michael Richardson
Do you have a list? I play Kurkesh, but I'm not sure about him.
Bentley Brooks
Just go mono-white Avacyn and fill the deck with board wipes, user.
Connor Bennett
Don't forget Armageddon
Chase Robinson
How good is pic related? Am I better off just playing patron of the moon if I want to play a seaworld deck since everything is so expensive?
Landon Torres
Chisei and things with cumulative upkeep
Nathaniel Nelson
I used to run Armageddon and Catastrophe (can't afford Ravages) but my friends got so buttpained that I removed them.
But by all means, if buttpain doesn't bother you, they're amazing with Avacyn. And Worldslayer. Avacyn was born to wield that sword.
Levi Jenkins
Memes?
Lucas Stewart
I ran Sheoldred and Blue Braids for a hot second, then realized I didn't like mono-colored decks all that much. Though if I had to give another stab at it, it'd probably be Thassa Sea Monster Tribal.
Hunter Walker
Scry would help you get Quest for Ula's Temple to be more consistent, plus you have a way to get your big dick sea monsters through thanks to her mana sink ability.
Zachary Cox
formatting sucks
Justin Perez
Sure, but you do have to do the initial payment.
Sebastian Rogers
Do you guys think the praetors will get any lower? Most of them are around ~10 dollars for the NP versions, which is the only version to get because watermark. They're basically all great except for maybe Urabrask right?
Nathaniel Sanchez
I wanna build a RU top deck fuckery/miracles kinda thing with arjun at the helm. Is there any secret tech y'all would recommend for this?
James Brown
Right now we have a tiny bump in supply thanks to the Hascon draft event for Iconic, but the actual release of Iconic could bring them lower. It's doubtful the price will go up while Iconic looms in the future, so it's probably pretty safe to wait it out.
Blake Bailey
My general guideline is that prices for singles are at their lowest after 2-6 months after a set's release. Compare with Elesh Norn before and after MM15.
Camden Torres
I like the foil stamped cards
Christian Morris
In my image? It was made by a different user who was offering it out a little while back, and honestly, I quite like it.
I don't see any reason to dislike it, unless you're a purist who only likes old card frames / rustic design in mtg.
Bentley Robinson
I don't know what 75% means but I have my list ready. Works for my meta
75% is a subformat of commander where you build a competitive edh deck and then pick 25 cards at random and burn them or dispose of them in a similar fashion
Isaiah Gutierrez
...
Isaac Walker
Na they just don't have the rule text.
David Roberts
I forgot to mention you don't get to know wich cards got taken out, hence the burning to prevent cheating
Cooper Morgan
thats not what it is at all, you trolls.
Grayson Williams
Nice falseflagging, i bet you're one of those anti-75% poorfags that shit up the thread costantly
Isaac Roberts
What is user's favorite deck architype?
John Hall
Turnin' creatures sideways in any number of ways.
Kevin Bennett
Is the EDH discord still around? I kinda miss it
Gavin Watson
I don't give a shit what 75% is. Someone asked for a Wort decklist so I provided mine
Oliver James
Any opinions on these?
Hunter Phillips
Looking back on how all my commanders are sub tier 3, I could understand how any one's text could feasibly not be common knowledge, apologies.
I'd struggle playing a deck having NO tax/stax elements, but I couldn't go all in on it. It's definitely my favourite secondary focus/spash.
William Gutierrez
5c x tribal
Lucas Collins
>boros >having converted mana costs less than 4
Cameron Scott
Show me your Xenagos list.
Grayson Sanders
>adriana >bad hohohoho
Christian Carter
plz tell me why she is not bad
Ian Campbell
Mistcutter Hydra is my mvp
Nathan Garcia
creatures you control get +3/+3 is bretty good sure two combat phases seems better but if you cant profitably swing in with the team whats the point also shes a 7/7 for 5 if you have a halfway decent deck
Jaxson Green
so a worse jor kadeen
John Gonzalez
>worse +3/+3 vs +3/+0 also metal craft vs having 3 creatures
Carson Wilson
m8 u 2 are arguing about the shittiest color combination they are all shit you fucking retards
Asher Harris
>m8 u 2 are arguing yeah get used to it newfag
Austin Brooks
Next you will say you were merely pretending to be retarded.
Evan Torres
>how dare people have discussions on subpar cards
Evan Lee
Not the guy who called them all shit but you implied that his point was only that he didn't like people arguing. If you didn't want to look like an idiot, you should have made the post I'm replying to in response to him.
Jose Sanders
Need help choosing my next Commander. Not opposed to selecting one not pictured, just found these guys in my EDH cards stack(s)
Owen Nelson
Turn up the brightness m8. what is your power level in your group?
Samuel Scott
>Bruse Tarl Usable >Adriana in trash >Kalemne somehow worse than Bruse Tarl
Seriously
Matthew Garcia
Ya sorry bout that desu. The group is super casual, often using Anthology decks and precons. However, there's another store that has a EDH night that I'm thinking of joining.
Currently I have a Mirri tokens deck and I'm almost done building Alesha that I'll take to test the waters
Connor Clark
Arahbo - Decent choice if you want a fast commander. He likes to explode out of the gate. Can potentially turn 3 someone with a perfect hand using Lost Leonin and Duelist Heritage. Doesn't have a ton of staying power.
Nazahn - Fun equipment lord. Good choice if you have a ton of equip support / swords laying around.
Surrak - Fun, but a poor choice for Temir colors. Good in the 99, okay if you want to build a non-threatening commander.
Momir - Good choice if you want to combo. Expect to be hated off the table in multiplayer, either from people fearing combo or people who don't want to wait for constant tutor effects.
Brion - Fun commander. Seen fun jank builds of him. Favorite being one using Preacher and similar effects to borrow enemy monsters then fling them at opponents.
Grenzo - Fun utility commander. Can do nutty things if built right. Good choice if you like to say "In response" a lot.
Sek'Kuar - Alright choice if you want to do token swarm, though not the best. If you're looking to build something fun and not threatening for kitchen table MTG he's probably your best choice here.
Ghave - Once the go-to for BGW. He's seen better days. Better in the 99 of someone else at this point. Also his key cards are expensive. Wouldn't recommend if you don't happen to have a Doubling Season already laying around.
Cameron King
Bruse Tarl lets you play other colors, which pretty much makes him automatically better than any of the other ones.
Jacob Baker
Storm Kess is boring and a bit too far above the power level of my meta, so I'm rebuilding it into pure jank Hive Mind Kess. Besides the obvious, what's good/funny in combination with Hive Mind?
Elijah Bennett
Very close.
>Gisela Best girl. Expensive to cast but at least she combos with shit outside of combat >Archangel Avacyn Great for combos! She's one of two that has really grown on me from first impressions >Brion An old standby but not really good, kind of the bottom edge of the usable tier >Iroas His second and third abilities are a little redundant-feeling (both help prevent blocking) but hes still the boss of lolcombat: the Deck >Aurelia Infinites or GTFO >Tajic & Jor Basically the walking incarnations of what's wrong with Boros: their singular focus on swinging with creatures. The power lefel on them I guess is high enough to make something happen, at least for Jor, but I almost feel like they should be in a middle tier with Adriana >Basandra Let's be honest, she's saved from the trash heap primarily by Terese's art making us WANT to find a way she worls. At least she's more tactical than Jor/Tajic/Iroas but the fact that she locks off your own combat tricks is annoying as hell. >Depala This one is like wine: Getting better with age. When KLD dropped I overlooked her. AER brought a second glance. Now we know vehicles are deciduous so she likely has a long not block-constructed life to look forward to. >Bruse Partners are practically their own thing. The only partner Bruse could run with and still be a "Boros" commander is the rightfully trash Akiri. He's better than she but not for boros.dec
>That trash tier Kalemne deserves special attention because not only is she trash, the people who play her are subhuman garbage in a way the others aren't. Mentioned earlier that Adriana is close enough to reasonable (her main crime being existing as dull "swing out" shit) that she should probably sit in Tier Idiot with Jor and Tajic. Other than that, yeah, they are all garbage.
Carson Foster
>laugh as your opponents cant do anything about your Does nobody play wraths in your meta? Or are they all casual T6 craw wurm babbies
Jayden Allen
>Arahbo Are you playing 1v1? No? Pass >Momir He's pretty stronk, and will be treated as such >Brion Do you REALLY want to be stuck inBoros? >Sek'Kuar My favorite of the lot, he exists at the kitchen table sweet spot. >Nazahn I know it loses green but Sram isjust about everything this guy wants to be, but better. >Surrak He's shitty, but temur is stronk. Take from that what you will, he's the wedge equivalent of playing someone like Livonya Silone or Jasmine Boreal. >Grenzo 1 I have an unusual fondness for this guy, especially with Reito Lantern >Ghave Are you trying to move towards CEDH? Do you have doubling season? He may not have aged well but he's still a bit of a killer for kitchen tables, much like momir.
Sebastian Morales
I assume by "The Obvious" you mean Pact of the Titan to kill anybody nonred (and maybe Slaughter Pact). Or did you instead mean to grab an Epic spell? Because Hive Minding Eternal Dominion, especially if you can copy yours, seems fun.
Camden Rodriguez
In the context of being "Boros" commanders, I don't think Partner should really be taken into consideration. Once you're using another partner, you're not really playing Boros anymore.
David Rodriguez
aha, right, the epic spells. sounds like a real fun choice.
i was also thinking one with nothing because i can recover from being hellbent way better than any other deck at the table.
Easton Allen
I really appreciate the response user. Brion was the commander I wanted to build a deck on but since I have a mardu Alesha deck with a similar theme to Brion (recurrent sac with goblin bombardments, etc), I should pass on him. Might throw him in Alesha's 99 though.
Sadly I don't have doubling season yet. I started playing when Hour of D was released and have been grabbing edh staples since. Starting from cheapest to most expensive
There's a few more commanders I was interested in but I'm going to look at some Sek'Kuar lists and see if it can convince me
Dylan Jenkins
Sek'Kuar has two general routes to take: death triggers or token spam. The token spam route benefits from Doubling Season, but the cheaper Parallel Lives and Primal Vigor work too. If you're going the death route recurring creature recovery like Oversold Cemetery, Phyrexian Reclamation, or Tortured Existence are good bets. You can also stuff your deck with sack outlets like Ashnod's Alter or Greater Good to better control the flow of your creatures, and also use it as a set up for a surprise Living Death. If you go that route be sure to include Bojuka Bog, Agent of Erabos, and/or Crypt Incursion to keep your opponents from winning off your Living Death.
Sek'Kuar is fun, though I broke mine apart to build Tana the Bloodsower / Ravos Soultender partner, since that combo does the same thing, but also has access to white, so I can run stuff like Mentor of the Meek, Anointed Procession, and Intangible Virtue.
Alexander Scott
You should also consider the "And stay Tapped" spells from HoD, particularly Bontu's, since they will tap down everybody and Bontu's grants no extra value to the other jokers. You could even drop Bontu's Last Reckoning, wait for the copies to resolve, and then throw Arcane Denial to draw at least two cards and maybe untap your lands. Depending on your curve versus the table, you might even mess with Hazoret's. Kefnet's is fine if you don't have kess out or have her protected from the steal.
Consider non-spell ways to change the targets of spells. I think there are some? Ah, Echo Mage on a spell way, at least.
Charles Walker
How do you like those partners? I was considering building a Tana/Tymna deck, cause they seemed to naturally be buddies.
Henry Jackson
I've got a Nivmagus on the list to exile detrimental spells that I control
Nathan Scott
I would like to confirm something, regarding Urborg.
So if I have a land, let's say a mountain. Urborg is played.
Does my mountain now generate RB or either R or B?
Cameron Carter
Return to Tarkir WHEN? I need more stompy dragons to smash people with.
Asher Roberts
>Hive Minded One with Nothing user, you're my kind of guy
Aaron Roberts
>Tarkir oh man that was a fun time for everthing but standard so many cool legends, new 3color lands, fetches, the walkers were awesome (btw pic related never gets used did people forget about him) the drafts were super fun in my opinion the art was amazing and it brought back delve which is my favorite mechanic
Jose Ortiz
R or B
Charles Morales
Perfect
Owen Miller
>btw pic related never gets used did people forget about him
He's kind of awkward to use thanks to his colors. You mostly only see him in 5C dragons.
Charles Campbell
Might be my favorite partner combo. Here's the decklist if you want to see. The general idea is to pump out dudes and keep up the aggro, using Ravos more as a +1/+1 lord, though his secondary ability lets me recover combat losses without issue. And sleeper MVP is Fanatical Devotion. Not a lot of regen-hate out there right now, so often it means keeping half of my board during a wipe, or trading janky tokens for the more important creatures.
Ayden Stewart
>Ink-Eyes That's awesome, haven't ran her in anything since my mono-B deck. That's a good idea. Personally i'd still run Tymna over Ravos, but they're both cool and can understand why people would want to run either.
