How do you guys feel about video games that are Veeky Forums related?
Pic related is blood bowl, which has a general and isn't technically vidya exclusive even though that's how it's usually played, but even just sticking to WH fantasy, there's also a Total War game.
And 40k has games and D&D has games and MtG kinda has games. And VtM has one game and Shadowrun has some good ones.
The best tie-in games are all football-oriented though.

I enjoy Blood Bowl quite a bit. Not so much of a fan of the Shadowrun tie-ins, minus the most recent ones.

Can't be mad cuz it's our FLGS buddies advancing but goddamn our play sucked today. All those Doomwider shots, those failed pass attempts and that backpass to nobody at the end. Any one of those near misses or Hassan's shot coulda equalized us, oh well.

Oh man, second half was hype to the extreme.
Tabletop emulator is pretty great.
Honestly though, this is a good result for us. We tied for fifth in a 32-team tournament and we're through to winter.
Pot 3 in an Elite cup is not a bad result
I've seen people play wargames on it too. no idea how they make terrain pieces that work in game. like workshop helps get them INTO the game but how do you make the models and have them have physics?
Tabletop simulator is one of my favorites because you can play a lot of different games on it.
Being able to play 40k with people on the other side of the world is awesome, because there isn't a lot of players in /mytown/

Yeah the second half was alright. It's just that when the hype hits critical mass and then the shot goes wide and it happens multiple times in a row I can't help but feel burned a little.
That Hassan shot at the end was amazing though.

what are 40k games like in virtual space compared to in person?
There's a few frustrations, mostly due to model collisions and sometimes wonky physics, but rolling dice is easy, you never have 'not enough' dice, you can move large groups quickly, and having models >for free means that you can try army builds you can't afford IRL.
There's a bit of guessing and sometimes some house-ruling you have to do, mostly for rulers and distances because it's a virtual space, but the in-game line-of-sight ruler is pretty accurate.
The discord link from the last thread wasn't working for me. Might be a problem on my end though.
