>not making the most obvious move everytime to save time

Its like you dipshits forgot about the shot clock.

>castling

Meme move.

>Not opening with E4 and getting your king to the middle of the board

>he doesn't buy every property he lands on except for utilities which have little strategic value at the end game

is that actually the optimal strategy? I know the game wasn't designed to be fair or entertaining, mostly just luck followed by two hours of a couple people painfully leveraging themselves into winning position

I guess you go for railroads in trades?

Utilities are really only good once you are already fucked on board position.

If a monopoly or duopoly starts to develop on one side of the board and you don't own property there, go all out for utilities.

Ideally always try to be a part of the Top Two and start locking down sections. People waste a lot of time trying to form monopolies right from the beginning and trying to get specific property.

>castling early in sicilian
>white has a nice target

Last week I played with some buddies. I landed on both utilities and got them, then managed to get all railroads. The guy who had the most properties was super broke and was about $100 from being bankrupt but he had monopolies so he ended up winning.
Fuck this gay earth. I was winning with the most money for about 75% or the game.

i do though. im shit at chess but i hate having my rook just stuck there in the corner, it feels incredibly restrictive

was he really 100 bucks from broke if he had enough unmortgaged property to win?

>Not playing 3 second speed chess with a 5 second countdown

As I recall, the railroads and utilities won't win you the game, but will prolong your loss.

A shitty one

There is no strategy its all luck

>he doesn't take en passant every opportunity

always move your horse first, they say

>He does play defensive chess
Not moving back row master race reporting

How do i get better at chess? Im trash

Says the pleb who always loses to grandma

>he fell for the having cash meme

Welcome to Capitalism, bitcj

get the Magnus trainer app
...you know who Magnus is right?

It's literally called 'monopoly' you dumb bitch. Hoarding cash serves no purpose

Whats good about his app

It's like Grindr for chess prodigies

>yuropeans

Always finding new ways to disgust me

tfw trying to learn positional chess

>pk4

>he doesn't spend hours reviewing his every game to understand where he could have played better

>he doesn't know 20 moves deep into every variant of the main openings

Fucking plebs

Is an knight an athlete?

>not playing positionless chess

Barbarian or Bust.

Hey, tg chessfags, what's the best aggressive openings you'd recommend? (preferably still sound ones)

Ruy Lopez is pretty sound

>Not playing the French

The french defense?
But that's a black move, and really not that aggressive at all, no?

>the french is aggressive

I play the French as Black and the Ruy as white, but the French is solid, not aggressive.

funny, in my experience the one who castles first usually loses. The corner is creeping closer to the king that way

>funny, in my experience the one who castles first usually loses.
Terrible observation and is not the case.

Do you only play retards or something? I have the complete opposite actually

>Chess
>Not playing the superior Go
