Second Trigger Temporal Bubble, Temporal Travel, and Pocket Room for me fucking with time, Second Trigger Omnicombustion, Regeneration, Immunity, and Flight for a flame-powered ally (Regen: body of fire. Flight: Jets of flame), and Second Trigger Peak Condition, Blink, No Clip, and Peak Condition for the wuxi ninja ally.

Fighting and Speech. Basic; important.

Companions: Tanya and Zhou.

Items: Weapon and Suit

Faction: Global Defence

Blade and Shrink are more offensive abilities, Teleport and Redundancy are survival. By combining blade and shrink, I'll be an evasive menace with a crazy cutting edge. It's like spamming double team and blade dance in pokemon.

Tanya and Danielle will be my teammates, Tanya has psychic powers and Danielle has magic/healing ones. Not sure which of the two I find more attractive; figure that part out later.

I'm not taking conditions, that stuff is rarely worth it.

And I'll be joining the Lawful Good-Type Defence Force. Just suits me I suppose, they find jobs, I do jobs. Easy.

I do like the setup of this CYOA, though the abilities presented to the reader are more brute force type, less diversity than the Marvel CYOA.

Though, this does have waifus.

I finally finished my Stardust CYOA build I started in the last thread. If anyone wants the full build, it's in the pastebin below, but tl;dr, 1 carrier, 2 destroyers, 4 fighters (6 if you include the missions) and a shitton of drones. Carrier acts as a light version of the Kushan Mothership, the destroyers act as survey vehicles and miners, fighters act as a quick strike force and screen.

Backstory: A deep space exploration group of Dustkeepers. Originally it started out as a handful of friends on a mining ship. After a good sized discovery of some Herald fighter craft, they proceeded to sell the rights to the find for cash, though not without keeping a few for themselves. Rich beyond their dreams, and not knowing what else to do, they decided to expand their operation. Now they act as a nomadic fleet, producing some basic goods and raw materials for trade when times are scarce, and constantly searching for something new. What that is doesn't matter. Rare minerals, habitable worlds, ancient tech, it's all fine by them, so long as they keep doing something interesting.

Of course, that was before they made some finds that got half the sector after them.

There are times when a single approach doesn't work. Master Doom taught me that. One must always be prepared for sudden obstacles. Magic being dampened? Have some technology on hand to compensate. EMP disabling technology? Be able to fight your way to safety. physically superior foe? Know a spell to even the odds. I will take this to heart.

My vehicle is a modest spaceship. I don't have much funding to work with after all my other equipment. But my vehicle will have about as much living space in it as a trio of winnebago campers. Adequate for a modest lifestyle. And good for short jaunts to Mars or the asteroid belt. My lair is a modest house in the country, far enough from civilization that my occasional launch/reentry won't disturb anyone but the local wildlife.

Speaking of Mars, I suppose I could start terraforming it, making it livable. I'm sure at least one splinter group of mutants will appreciate being able to completely leave Earth and live beyond the reach of mundane humans. That sounds like a worthy project to occupy my free time, when I am not serving Lord Doom or defending Earth from aliens or domestic dissidents.

I've been looking at the existing and thinking there should be some alternative that guides the theme via restrictions.
Then I started thinking on the elemental themes of superheroes, and how those could be turned into point pools.
Here's what I came up with so far.
>Overman
For powerfantasy, involves the strengthening of natural abilities. Generally all about what little kids fantasize about when playing superhero.
>Freak
For ostracization and ugliness, like the thing or some x-men. Rewarded the most with the laboratory accident origin. It's also about powers, just ugly ones.
>Dark
Things that are hard to use in any nice and friendly way. Rotting pwoers or vampirism. For misunderstood anti-villains or edgy pieces of shit.
>Brain
The same as overman but for mental abilities. Being a tinkerer or strategist. To be honest in my mind I'm picturing mostly different disciplines, but in superhero stories all science is interchangeable and can be done by all scientists so I don't know yet. Detective work? Psychic abilities?
>High Concept
For the ability to manipulate or create something very specific. Like control gravity or something. Powers that are all about creative application.

What do you think? Any alternative/additional themes in mind?
I was also musing on a 'wonder' mechanic. Something that would incompass both technology you keep a secret and only you can use and something like wonder womans magic lasso.

Not always. Marvel has made it a point that not all super-science is the same. Tony Stark knows just enough about what Reed Richards does to know he'll have to hire someone else to do it for him. He's aware of Banner's work in physics and knows he can't replicate that either (not that he wants to). Even the tech villains don't copy each others' designs, mostly because they hyper-specialize.

Unlike DC, where 'scientist' may as well mean 'wizard'.
