Taking things slow instead of taking the pussy at the first sign of attraction

Not telling him she loved him before he died.

Not saying goodbye before she left.

Not staying at home to be a family man instead of becoming an adventurer.

>not "What is your character thankful for?" edition

I know we're not all celebrating Thanksgiving but fuck you anyway.

So what IS your character thankful for?

Reposting this poll so that more folks see it.

He said your character's, not your's.

Took a challenge from a friend, to play a Sorcerer as a martial character. Wielding a sword and his main funtion is melee combat. Obviously self buffs would be the way to go so I don't have to focus on CHA super hard and instead bump physical scores.

What would you recommend to help ease this a little bit?

>you don't
>play a magus

Yeah I know, no need to tell me that.

Cross-blooded Orc/Dragonic With Blood Havoc. Use nothing but damage spells.

Worship desna, use starknives and get CHA to damage and attack with them.

I know all about spellslinging. I ran a sorcerer like that from 1 - 25 mythic 10.

I'm saying his MAIN funtion is using a sword in battle.

>Wah-wah OP didn't cater to my nation's celebration of gluttony and near destruction of its indiginous peoples
You colonials sure are a whiny lot, aren't you?

Crossblooded Orc/Abyssal? That combo eventually gets a +12 bonus to strength that you can add buffs on top of. Only thing really lacking there is BAB.

Isn't that a Bard only thing? Would be awesome if it didn't specify Starknife. I was really picturing a more traditional sword.

Inherent bonuses don't stack. I could go down the one that gives +Con and +Str to get 12 free points though. I feel my AC would be super low for a long time with that though.

Bards can get it in place of their versatile performance while anybody can get them if they meet the prereqs normally.

>A
She couldn't save her family. They were killed in an ambush. It's been years, and she's mostly over it, but some nights, survivor's guilt creeps in.

Huh...do you know of any cheese to get that for any weapon? My last character was a priest of Desna - so Starknifing it up for another X years is off the table for me.

A second chance. Good company and better booze. Fire resistance potions.

No way to cheese it as far as I know.

Ask your DM to make a tiny exception for you?

He has been known to do that stuff before. Hell, he let me gestalt before. Twice.

Still, our table only really makes exceptions if you can prove there is no way for it to work RAW.

Maybe somehow with the Fighter Weapon Specialist... But the challenge is to go full sorcerer. Hmm.

I mean, one of the most famous events in our history is sending you guys a letter talking about all the things you did that ticked us off. It seems pretty in-character.

Holy fucking shit I forgot how many discoveries a bomber alchemist required, between that and ranged feats there's no room to flex at all. Closest thing to a "fluff" ability I could get is the tumor familiar, but even that would be a valet hedgehog to shore up the will save and speed up making shit.
Gun Chemist only makes it worse by introducing two new taxes, fuck.

Certainly good motivation to pick a race with a Discovery FCB. What does a Gun Chemist need on top of a regular bomber?

Being unable to save the first person she had to kill.

The best way to do this is probably by dipping two levels in either paladin and taking the psychic bloodline, or a level or two of a Unchained monk archetype that gives charisma to ac and using a temple sword.

Why the potions?

>Jam reducer, makes it so anytime you shoot your alchemical ordinance with a basic pistol/anything with only 1 jam normally, you DON'T JAM ON A NAT 1
>Explosive shot, or "make your not!bombs act like bombs and splash, better pray your DM let's it stack with other shit"

that's on top of the fast bomb equivalent, which is a thing normal bombers want anyway. Tempted to just pray my DM decides to roll with tax exemption rulings, like making infusion free and combining precise+point blank shot

I want to figure it out without dipping if possible, but those are good points. Probably would pick Monk over Pally.

Why 2 level dips btw? Just for Evasion?

>frost bomb
>shock bomb
>tanglefoot bomb
>precise bombs if you have reckless martials getting in the fray
>fast bomb at 8
it really doesn't take much, a single extra discovery feat is enough for everything, and almost everything else isn't worth it

We're in a demiplane prison trying to kill the weakened god-aspect of fire. There's a lot of fire going around.

No real reason besides it being the max you can commit without losing 9th level spells, and I was too lazy to look up the two or three archetypes that give monk change to ac. Pure sorc with a sword is a toughy. Best way might be to VMC Oracle and pick up battle or metal mystery for the proficiencies, then prestige classing.

Scaled Fist is the archetype and funtions at the first level.

Heirloom Weapon can give me proficiency with any one weapon. The plus there is that our table gives 3 traits and you can take a drawback to gain a 4th.

>not much
>Half a dozen feat equivalents is "not much"

Sometimes this game feels like it was made like you should be getting feats every level.

Her bonus feats

nigga if you're specializing in bombs you'll take the fucking bomb discoveries, and those are available as class features. you still have the lvl1, lvl3, lvl5 and lvl7 feats available to play with, maybe even one more if you're a human!

Transmutation spells are your friends. Look into and learn the best picks for stuff like Undead Anatomy, Monstrous Physique, so on.

Lizardfolk gets you STR, CON, and nat. armor and only costs 1 skill in Linguistics to make up for the fact they can't speak common.

I didn't say shit won't fit, just that it's rigid and leaves little room for much else.

Which spheres of might class would you use to make a sword and pistol type character? Would you go for a demoralize build? Which martial tradition would you take?

Something something penis joke. But seriously, this is what happens when you want to build something specific. Kinda sucks.

It makes me miss vigilante's social talents, and wish feat progression was like that. You get your any-use feats, then you get your minor bullshit feats like skill focus, Alertness, or whatever all those dumb shit feats were. Background feats, you could say.

>Sorshen best waifu

How would you go about redeeming her?

Would you even consider such a noble task Veeky Forums?

Coiled blade so I can 2 tradition mechanic and bolt juggler.

Step one: be immune to just about everything nasty in enchantment.

Step two: get a seducer's bane, and hide it really well.

What effect would you put to magic dancing shoes? The party I'm GMing is breaking into a noble's house and I want them to find some fun magic items as side things. So far I've got a bowtie that acts as a continual Cultural Adaptation spell and an Erasing brush.

I would give them the ability to treat crowds as regular terrain.(ala you never stop on anybodies toes literally) Or if they are cursed they literally make both of your feet "left feet" so your right foot faces the same as your left.(probably a negative to acrobatics, perform(dance), and inability to charge.)

Trade out your first bloodline power for a bloodline familiar if you can, make it a Mauler and use it as a flanking buddy. Because of Share Spells, you can cast your personal-range transmutation buffs like Monstrous Physique on it too.

Why would you redeem her?

I did a similar thing once, and the noble had a mug which could fill with hot tea or iced water on command. But it was actually cursed, such that it always filled with whichever one the bearer wanted less.

Let the wearer use Perform (Dance) in place of other skill checks like Acrobatics to avoid AoOs.

Uh, so you don't have to worry about your evil waifu betraying you? You can never fully trust evil people, especially if they're powerful mages.

But user, NEUTRAL EVIL waifus are the best.

With repeated stabs to her chest until I am sure she is super double extra dead with a cherry on top. Damn ancient wizards are never up to good.

It's another "But evil people can't have friends or loved ones!" episode with Retardo the user!

I'm thinking of taking True Name on my Wizard when I level up and getting a Cabal Devil (pic related). Among a few other abilities it can grant a Witch Token. How much trouble am I asking for if I force it to give me one?

"Witch Token (Su) By spending an hour in concentration, an uniila can create a token of arcane power. This token may take any form that takes up an item slot, and typically appears as a subtly fiendish ring, amulet, or similar piece of jewelry. While it is worn by a mortal, all of the DCs of any spells the wearer casts increase by +1 (this effect stacks with Spell Focus). However, while wearing a witch token, the bearer takes a –5 penalty on all saves made to resist spells and effects cast by the token’s creation. Also, while the token is being worn, the uniila can effectively scry through the token at will and without the wearer’s knowledge as long as he remains on the same plane. Spells and effects that typically bar or confound scry also affect the witch token.

As a standard action, an uniila can cause her witch token to erupt in a burst of destructive magic that deals 10d6 points of damage to the wearer. An uniila can only ever have one witch token in existence at a time and must destroy a previously created token before creating a new one. The damage of this effect is based on the uniila’s Hit Dice.

All witch tokens are also under effects similar to magic aura, and are detected as possessing auras of moderate universal magic. Those who use identify or a similar spell must succeed at a DC 20 Will save to receive correct information (that the token sheds an aura of strong divination). Detect evil reveals no aura from a witch token. The saving throw is Charisma-based."

I fully expect it might blow the Witch Token up the first time I fall unconscious so it can kill me. Could still be worth it with the proper safeguards, I think.

>I fully expect it might blow the Witch Token up the first time I fall unconscious so it can kill me. Could still be worth it with the proper safeguards, I think.

Considering True Name is effectively black mailing an outsider, that's a very safe assumption.

>Asheia, Sword of Lust
>Accepting the burning blade intended for her champion, Runelord Sorshen strode directly into her harem and buried it between the legs of her least favorite consort. To the hundreds of shocked courtesans remaining, Sorshen made
>a simple promise: whoever returned the cleaned blade to her in her private chambers would be deemed her most devoted servant and gain the honor—among others—of being named her champion. Shouts and shrieks followed the runelord from her seraglio.
>Few survived that night, and none save one were fit to please their mistress in the aftermath. When they emerged from the royal chambers days later, Sorshen dubbed the exotic swordswoman Asheia her champion.

I would rather be safe user.

The description of True Name also says you can try to keep the outsider from spiting you by placating it with rewards occasionally. So I figured I would entrap the souls of enemies to give to it now and again. It hits two birds with one stone since my PC can also punish his enemies this way after defeating them. but they nerfed Create Soul Gem, damn it.

My hope is that if she's basically getting free souls from my PC, she might be less inclined to kill me. It's a matter of making the situation mutually profitable.

Although really I guess it comes down to how likely my DM is to try and fuck with me, which no one but me can account for. I don't think he's too likely to take a class feature I invested build currency in taking and twist it just to disadvantage me- at least, not unless I was abusing it heavily and even then he'd probably replace the ability somehow.

I like these. I think I'll go with the first idea since a few of them have already invested in Acrobatics.

You mind I steal that mug idea though?

Not at all, that's why I brought it up. In my game, the PC that found it was a Cleric of Trelmarixian, the Daemonic god of famine, so he considered this item to be an affront to his religion and his god, even cursed as it was. So he spent several minutes bashing the magically-durable item against the kitchen floor to destroy it.

Devils don't really give a shit about Soul Gems, there's nothing for them to do with them.

Daemons are the ones who care.

If they didn't care about souls, they wouldn't make contracts to damn them. If they care about souls, they like soul gems. It's basically the kind of currency they care the most about. And even if not, souls are still worth straight cash.

Your familiar gets bonus 3 feats, bab, ability score and level restrictions don't apply.

What do you take?

craft

Possessed hand feat chain. My familiar now has a familiar.

Killing the chief of police

What are some good ways of ensuring no one gains entrance to our base, we bombed two of the entrances but that's probably not enough to stop people from entering now that people know where it is.
We got a couple thousand gold that we can spend on defenses and stuff, GM is also usually chill with us coming up with some custom stuff as long as it has some logic behind it

The last entrance is covered in trip wires that launch the bear traps from the ceiling that shoot out caltrops when they step and the caltrops spray acid and the acid is also poisonous and to top it all of you should lure some oozes to live in a small pit that opens and fires them out at the intruders when the bearcaltropacidpoisonceiling trap fires off and they also get bombarded with fireworks and a cacophony of alarm bells go off during this entire racket.

They care about temptation, and causing mortals to do more evil than they would otherwise. The soul itself doesn't really matter, it's just another brick in the walls of Hell.

Then, by that logic, tempting their caller- a powerful wizard- into doing more evil would be more valuable than just killing him at the first convenient moment right?

Maybe.
If the Devil finds your continued existence worth bearing the sustained humiliation of being used by you.

Enjoy being miserable on purpose. At least we have the basic decency to try and enjoy life.

>celebration of gluttony and near destruction of its indiginous peoples

Sounds like something Urgathoa could get behind. Just need to reanimate the turkey and have it serve itself, and you could practically call it a holy (unholy?) day for her.

Get 16 Charisma, then build yourself like a fighter that can buff and maybe even heal themselves. I think Nanite Bloodline is pretty good for melee characters but I never build sorcerers because I hate anything that limits me to being good at my job only X times per day.

Buff yourself before combat. Cast Transformation.

If combat lasts more than the number of turns you can use Transformation then just sulk in a corner and wish you had been a Fighter instead.

it's a celebration of how much bigger and tastier our birds are than those tiny things you call ducks.

that thing tiny. like a water magpie.

It took me like four reads to not see the word "cucks" there.

God.

Didn't realize that bread, her favorite food, eventually went stale and rotted. Spent many nights on a long journey having to eat nasty gruel since she didn't pack any rations and can't cook for shit.

Claims staleness is "the world's great injustice" against bread ever since.

I'm in a homebrewing mood. DSP has a few feats that let you mix a few disciplines together. I'm curious to know which other combinations you'd like to see.

Is there one for mithral current and veiled moon? If not, I demand a *teleports behind you, unsheathes nodachi* feat.

My very first character went to collect 10,000 copper pieces from a corner of a room and set off a trap that ultimately killed his only adventurer companion. I guess he regrets that.

So how far LoBaF gone? Have we gotten any info on them in the last like 2 months? Are they still in the eternal dungeon crawl?

Letting his father die, letting his wife die, letting his eldest son die. Basically all my character is now is a collection of regrets.

DHB had an emotional moment. His reverse trap nearly killed a guy the rest of the party had never met and ended up crying into her Yak.

Cursed Razor and Radiant dawn if possible.

Joining the party

Those aren't games, user.
They're failures in the making.

I thought DHB was supposed to be autistic and emotionless.

cute

Hey /pfg/, is there any way to get int to sense motive instead of wisdom? I'm trying to build an int based scarlet throne user.

Versatile Performance + Clever Wordplay

Kill yourself.
Empiricist Investigator dip

That he learned of his power too late to save his mother

2 level dip in Empiricist Investigator

Hey /PFG/ has your character ever been in a scenario that would warrant heart pupils?

Fuck off.

His pupils turn into hearts when assassinating people with his fuckhuge crossbow.
