It's larger and nor made of plastic developed in Zimbabwe

I bet the plastic kit is better cast in a better material desu.

I know Forge World is "speciality" stuff but their Quality Control seems to have dropped off a cliff. Probably because most of their customers won't complain so they can loosen their standards and get a few more units sold.

Probably also because they seem to have taken up a more integral role in GWs main release schedule, instead of being left alone to make tanks and stuff like before.

It's not.

>their Quality Control seems to have dropped
As someone who has been following FW since they first took over from epicast/armorcast/etc, no.

ffffffuck no

Yes this, FW have never had quality control

As much as I want a Custodes assault transport, I sure as fuck don't want to have to buy a fucking thunderhawk class vehicle to achieve that.

Looks alright, especially for nearly 5% of the price.

I don't know, when I picked them up around Imperial Armour 4 to more recently, seem to be a lot more massive gaps that just seem to be expected these days, even Duncan did a video showing you how to fix them.

Some people are willing to pay that much for it, so they price it that way.

ITT: GW and forgeworld are overpriced cuntslime.

>welcome to the hobby newfrind.

Still haven’t managed to figure out why Australia is 40% more expensive than the UK or US.

>primaris heroes sixty dollarydoos each

Yeah nah get fucked, I’m now playing a game where $120 gets me and my mate enough models to learn how to play a full game.

Looks too Star Trek.

$120

Play VBCW with 1/72 scale plastics in 15mm. You can get a whole force in a box.

Where do you get 14.99? I'm looking at the Mantic store and it's 24.99.

FW does not use any sort of quality control (this isn't an exaggeration, they don't even have the equipment to do QC if they desired) and is more akin to a dude in his garage than a major company.

Are you looking at pounds or dollars?

Shit, it might have been a Black Friday deal kek. I think that's why I saw it and went "isn't that similar to a FW kit?"

And vbcw is?

A Very British Civil War. Great setting.

>huge low production special model for the goldies of the warhammer goldies
>standard plane model for cheaper alternative game
hmmm
A fairer comparison would be the valkyrie, which is still almost twice the cost of the accuser

>facist brits
please tell me the king is dead and these faggots are not just huffing paint.
actually just tell me about the setting

That actually looks like an alright kit. Shame about the meaningless greebles and ugly as fuck guns that plague all of mantics minis.

Basic premise: When King George V died in early 1936 he was succeeded by his playboy eldest son Edward, who became King Edward VIII. In real life he abdicated that December, so he could marry Wallis Simpson. In this alternative timeline he refused to abdicate, and in May 1937 he married her. This flew in the face of advice from both church and state, and the stand-off between the king and Prime Minister Stanley Baldwin only came to an end in 1937, when the government resigned. Parliament was eventually dissolved - ripped apart by the ensuing constitutional crisis. Edward was an admirer of Herr Hitler and other extreme right-wingers, and so in January 1938 he invited Oswald Mosley of the British Union of Fascists to become his Prime Minister. For many this was a step too far. Opposition formed around the Anglican League - a confederation of churchmen, disgruntled parliamentarians and left-of-centre political groups. When striking and rioting ensued the king ordered the army to restore order, assisted by Moseley's Facist auxiliaries. The Anglican League took up arms to defend itself, as did a whole assortment of politically-inspired militias, local defence volunteers and other militant groups. The Scots (or most of them) seceded from the Union, and formed their own Republic. Similar nationalist stirrings were taking place in Wales, Cornwall and Northern Ireland. By the spring of 1938 the British people found themselves at war with each other - the first time the country had degenerated into Civil War in 300 years.

Factions and armies can be pretty much made up, decorated, and kitted on the fly, so if you live in say, Ormskirk and wanted to set it in your local area you could start a battle between the Ormskirk Royalist Volunteers and the St. Helens Socialist Miner's Union and their jury-rigged mining gear tank. All models are third party - The publisher just sells splatbooks and flags for the various factions.

This is pretty awesome man. I love when companies just make games with interesting fluff and rules, and let you get whatever minis you want to use.

I fucking love it.

>Oswald Mosley
yeah that was a step too far
>Similar nationalist stirrings were taking place in Wales,
this has officially become science fiction.

>Factions and armies can be pretty much made up, decorated, and kitted on the fly, so if you live in say, Ormskirk and wanted to set it in your local area you could start a battle between the Ormskirk Royalist Volunteers and the St. Helens Socialist Miner's Union and their jury-rigged mining gear tank. this is some good shit.
do we have the splat books on AWGs I'm going to give this a shot.
also what might the colonial splat be I'm going to go for a captian nemo type army full of Sikhs and hindus

Pounds.

Maybe. I was looking at the Forge Father units and the Sturnhammer was 14.99 on the page with all their units, but when I opened the link, it was 24.99. It's 24.99 on both pages now.

What sort of units do you use in that? Can you make use of, say, 20mm early war Brits and maybe some civilian and partisans? Are there tanks and such?

>Can you make use of, say, 20mm early war Brits and maybe some civilian and partisans?

Definitely, and yeah there's mostly "technical"-style converted armoured vehicles but tanks too.

Australians can go and get fucked dude.
Most of their warhammer stuff costs a bit less than double what it costs in germany, yet their minimum wage is 3 times as high, so they're actually paying less. It's time they stop crying about this.

Any good place to get the rules? Are all the rules covered in the main book or are different army lists in the different guides?

It'd be cheaper to have a friend buy the kits for you in the UK and mail them to Australia.

Honestly, any set of rules for inter-war era wargaming will work perfectly well; there are dedicated rules for the setting, but I've seen it played in Crossfire, Blitzkrieg Commander, Little Contemptible Armies, etc.

FW pricing is flat-out indefensible.
Are all their sculpts aesthetically perfect? No, dildo bikes beg to differ.
Are their sculpts at least functional and fit together well? Nope, as ANYONE who has bought from them can attest.
Are they at least cheap? Nope, they're the most expensive plastic models there are.
FW is all-around crap, their only saving graces are that their models do usually look nice, and most things have official GW rules. Of course buying those rules is also a shambles, and they're horrendously unbalanced.

I'm saying this as someone who's favourite model in his collection is his ork warboss on warbike. I love that model, but holy shit it was not worth €80.

What's going on in the video?

>1/72 scale plastics in 15mm
You play with two different sizes of miniature?
1/72 is like 20mm

second this

Drunk viking shit.

>ForgeWorld reaver is worth more than its own weight in silver.

when GW released the "entire chapter in a box" thing they did a few years back it was actually cheaper for someone over here in New Zealand to FLY TO BRITAIN AND GO PICK IT UP FROM A NEARBY GW STORE than it was to order it in locally.

Modelbuilder here
What are good WH40K style models which dont bankrupt me? I wanted to buy an official model, but I'm not willing to pay those prices when I cant get stuff like this scalemates.com/kits/965326-meng-model-ts-025-merkava-mk-3d-late-lic for 60€

>FW pricing is flat-out indefensible.
-_-
>do we make profit?
>y/n
>maximize profit
>repeat steps 1-3.
There you have your defense. Welcome to free market economy. Vote with your wallet, buy chinese recasts, do something productive instead of whining about it on an anonymous sub-saharian tapestry board.

>>maximize profit
>>repeat steps 1-3.
they aren't.
I don't believe.
They've got very limited distribution, they are subject heavily to substitution effect and everything they do seems inefficient.
I think it has more to do with an inter-company thing with GW, they use the same factory yeah?
the one that is failing to meet worldwide demand (i think, which is why i hear quite a lot of their stuff is often out of stock).

>Welcome to free market economy.
can't argue with that as much as i'd hate to see GW fail or FW to be such a liability it is destroyed that might have to happen and then the space FW held will have to be filled with something other than china men

This is why I'm kitbashing my Malanthrope.

youtube.com/watch?v=mpMg1upld0w

I want to make a Terminator army now.

I'm actually for high prices for specialty models, it keeps women and niggers from getting involved in the hobby, and applies a soft limit to the number of bullshit models players can field in a given game.

Honestly? If you're just in it for the models, find some of the papercraft templates and scratchbuild with plasticard. Imperial designs are all pretty basic boxes and plating, and the actual kits are not that great.

Fucking poorfags

its not that simple. our minimum wage is relatively high but so is our cost of living.
its not just minis, pretty much eveything costs more here.

They never had "quality control" in the sense you're thinking.

Always had gaps, slippage etc. Fucking ballache for the price the shit is rofl.

what exactly was achieved hear

which came first the inflation or the wage?
or was it an inch by inch feeding into each other sort of thing

What are the sizes?

SS13 Blob round

That's much more interesting than the actual thread. Holy fuck I wish this was my life.

I can see mold lines.

Just a quick google and it seems Australia's minimum wage is around 20% more than Germany's minimum wage.

The starter boxes are the only ones that average out at passable per-model prices.
And not buying direct from GW helps.
And learn to recast to stretch the value of the kits you do end up buying

inch by inch feeding into each other mostly.

that and forign companies would set a price high when the exchange rate justified it. But as the aus $ has increased in value the buisness "exchange rate" hasn't updated.

That FW Model Looks fugly as hell... the mantic isn’t great either, but cmon dude

>All models are third party - The publisher just sells splatbooks and flags for the various factions.

That's pretty cool, honestly.

It's honestly good enough. I get someone wanting something of a really good quality, but 366 Burger Bux for a fucking plane model?

Quality can fuck right off, I'll take the $20 one in a god damn instant.

They both do. What's your point?

>when GW released the "entire chapter in a box" thing they did a few years back it was actually cheaper for someone over here in New Zealand to FLY TO BRITAIN AND GO PICK IT UP FROM A NEARBY GW STORE than it was to order it in locally.

The Fuck....
Now I can see why FW is popular down under, it's probably cheaper than the local plastic stuff.

Why settle for a cheap copy when you can get the real thing instead.

That's a 1/32 kit of the Terminator 2 Gunship, they also sell a chrome plated version (for when you don't want to bother with high-end metallic paints to get the same result)
Might be a little large, but should make a cool centerpiece.

That's a rather large batch of insulation foam, which also generates a fair bit of flammable outgassing, so basically they blew up a house by literally drowning it in insulation foam.

fuckin radical

>GW Prices being fair
Can make the argument but still look like a dick
>FW prices being fair
AHHAHAHAHHAHA!

The plastic one is made in the UK though, using the same machines that GW has used.

>tfw when you like the jetbikes
>tfw never had a quality problem with any of my orders.
I guess I'm just lucky?

Most of the 40k marine characters are very reasonably placed. Lugft huron not only looks better than any of the monopose marine plastic kits GW has produced this year but is cheaper too!

Neat. I might get the Mantic one as an Infinity terrain/scenario piece.

What you think

>This is an OUTRAGE!

What GW thinks

>You ether buy it, or you don't... That simple
