Typically melta units like that are very expensive. If you can try and trade for it. Like plan for your carnifex to be saturation bombed and have an alternative that benefits from that.

Maybe keep the points low on them but build them tanky.

Lizardmen are being ported to 40k as the newest faction. How do you adapt them? You can change them as much as you want as long as they sort of resemble lizardmen ascetics.

Port them in as part of a full Exodite Eldar codex, similar to kroot in Tau. 40k needs more laser dinosaurs.

A mix of marines, daemons and tyranids, with five or six big monstrous creatures backing up 5-10man units of tough, slow and reasonably well armoured infantry. Tech style is much more of the artificer than the imperial brute force approach, more akin to eldar than anything else. Play style is tough infantry protecting big monsters with cannons and breath weapons, supported by skirmishers, cavalry and spawn-esque kroks-tough and cheap choppy units to distract while your army does its thing.

A guy in my LGS is making Tyranids out of Seraphon.
They are coming up very nicely.
