How do you think CGL will continue with this?

>How do you think CGL will continue with this?

Seems like they are trying to amp up the Horrors. How horrible could it be?

They copy the wrong parts/copy the right parts poorly/do both of Dominions 3 and 4, for maximal recursive Fun Units.

wasn't the rumor around in tha last thread that playable insect spirits[/spoiler are a thing now ?
I mean, if it's true, jesus christ, what the fuck CGL ?

Now that insect spirits are redeemable, who are the next big metaplot bodysnatchers? That seems to be the only plot CGL likes recycling.

>>WHAT_THE_FUCK__WHY_CAN'T_I_SUMMON_ANYTHING?.thread
Excusez-moi ?

Way to literally copy my concept. I'd like to see your version of it, though.

How can a LITERAL MANIFESTATION OF HUNGER ?! be redeemable ?

#noteverycrossdimensionalinsectoidbodysnatcher

Threads

This has always bothered me in Shadowrun. Why do the developers need this constant stream of comic book existential alien threats? This is a game about super criminals doing high profile crime, why the fuck is every metaplot event either a zombie plague or D&D? Can we not just have a story about NeoNET dumping radioactive waste and runners being hired to help them/stop them? Neuromancer and Count Zero had godlike AI and voodoo internet spirits, but at no point was there actually a danger of the world ending. But in Shadowrun every story is about the world ending. What's the deal,yo? Is it laziness? Is it because grey morality is too hard and we need a black villain?

search the last thread for "Havana"

So it's a joke... right ?

>implying it is

Drakes?
The Greats ressurect the drake-making ritual, and Loremaster Celedyr can't do shit to stop it because he's still in hot water over his CFD failures.
So the Greats start forcing drakehood on people, binding them to their will.
Dunkelzhan spins in his grave.

Stop. I just projectile vomitted

Oh man, if we get another artifact rush and uncover the Tome of Azure Ghosts, definitely not book of blue spirits that would be fun

That already happened. Dunkelzahn was using infant vaccination to turn babies into drakes bound to him, but then he got assassinated and the drake drugs smashed by Humanis. I'm deadly serious.

One thread of the current metaplot, which was running before and after CFD, is the Megacorporate Revision, an excuse for high-octane corpwar. Other recent metaplots include the Dragon Civil War (do runner shit for dragons, scrubs need not apply) and the Az-Am War (be mercenaries). That happens all the time, mundane shit that actually changes the world.

It's just been a consistent thing since FASA wrote SR that there is a subversive evil bodysnatching thing going on in the background. A threat to the world, but never really a world-ending threat.

Oh I'm aware that. Loffy himself instigated the smash.
However Dunkelzhan knew he would be dying soon so all his drakes would be set free. I don't think the other Greats would be so generous... except maybe Hestaby.

As far as I am aware that was in his will
AFTER he died
Like the vaccination was set for 3 years after he sacrificed himself

>New spirit types
>Laundry list of immunities
>Immunity to normal weapons
>No vulnerabilities
>No weaknesses
What is this, D&D?

Actually, if they're a literal manifestation of hunger, they would be quite easy to work with.

much easier than any given random shadowrunner.

But they used Dunky as the template, which meant that none of the drakes would be bound to him, since he was already dead.

It was more towards the first post which was implying Big D was doing this while alive, turning babies into drake soldies
And one thing I wont stand and thats talking shit about Dunkelzahn

> sacrificed himself

You keep buying into that dragon propaganda chummer. Nothing bad ever happened to people who believed the dragons.

Dunkelzhan died for your sins, so be drecking thankful.

...

Are you up your waist in Horrors and Azzies? No? You are welcome
Even Lofwyr had respect for Dunkelzhan

about what are you talking ?

Necro spirits in forbidden arcana

Cyberpunk 2e ?

Forbidden arcana is really a mixed bag.
Either it's really good; Buffing Alchemy, more types of awakened, all very interesting.
One part is just meh and forgettable.
And then we have shit lke vehicle spirits and mage friendly "ware".

Is there any lore or background on lake erie? Doing a homebrew and wanted to know if there was any existing material on the lake.

So how "Cyberpunk" would a character be if he is a new CFS case who is aware of the former person who he pushed out/killed, only to feel regret and is now running to find a cure while pretending to be the same person as before towars his friends and family ?

Don't know how "cyberpunk" it would be, but I like it

Seems pretty damn solid to me. Although most people treat CFD's as lepers, so you better not let anyone know.

Trying to find a good explaination of the systems involved, but I'm definitely a crunch-first kind of person. The lore and world can be re-written if necessary. From a cursory search, CP2020 seems to have issues with net bullshit like shadowrun does.

>CP2020 seems to have issues with net bullshit like shadowrun does.
The only issue with the CP2020 net system is that it's "and now the hacker will engage in solo gaming", like every other system.

Use the hell out of the Menu, do as few deep netruns as possible, and never hack on-site if you can just steal the server/hard drive. Or give everybody a point in Interface free, then everybody can get in there and do shit.

How complete was the merge? Did you destroy the original mind? Combine into a gestalt form? Or are they trapped inside their former body, constantly screaming while being forced to watch their body being controlled by the AI? All three choices are canon options.

Gestalt form but not really.
He hasn't the feeling that he is somebody esle now, but rather somebody new that has claimed that body but retains most of the host memories to make him feel like an real asshole for doing so.
So he uses a combination of memoreis, knowsofts and outright lying to fill the old persons gap while running at night as some freakish Noir Detective Gunbunny headcase.

If you had to work solo, what archetype would you rather be?

Sounds like a good mix of ridiculous and cyberpunk to qualify for Shadowrun.

Mage, mage, and mage.
Specifically a summoner/channeler. They can pretty much anything.

Suuuuure, "horrors". If there's really an evil existential threat then why are dragons keeping it secret? We could be preparing for a horror invasion, moving forward with anti-spirit research, building negative background count zones. But noooo, they keep it a secret. If there really are Horrors, then it sure sounds to me like this secret cabal is harming blood magic research to help the Horrors, not hinder them.

Decker/BE specialist.

Being solo cuts most jobs but being able to do most stealthy/techy thing is good enough.

>Suuuuure, "horrors". If there's really an evil existential threat then why are dragons keeping it secret?
Because idiots like Aztechnology exist.
>We could be preparing for a horror invasion, moving forward with anti-spirit research, building negative background count zones.
What are laser weapons and space stations?
>But noooo, they keep it a secret. If there really are Horrors, then it sure sounds to me like this secret cabal is harming blood magic research to help the Horrors, not hinder them.
Oh, right, you're an Azzie. Gotcha.

> Because idiots like Aztechnology exist.
While you are sucking dragon cock Aztechnology is building cyberzombies and mana voids to protect metahumanity from the Horrors.

Aztechnology is run by immortal elves from the 4th world who have created abomination after abomination to be prepared for the next invasion of Horrors, if even if these fucktards are hastening their arrival

I'm very familiar with Shadowrun from the video games and books. I'm interested in running a Shadowrun side campaign (more one-shot focused) for my current table top group.

Is Anarchy ok to run? I've heard there are a lot of things that need errata. I'm not really interested in the crunchy rules I've seen for regular fifth edition. I think educating the players on the rules will take too much effort.

There are many things that need errata, but it's not like 5E doesn't need much more. If you cut and paste all the rules you can fit them all on 10 pages and the system is so simple that it's easy to patch the occasional holes and house-rule things. If you want to go with any kind of official rules anarchy is your best bet.

'Sup, chummers. SOX-user back here with another round of "part of the book that will get really good I swear." As usual, comments are appreciated.

Today, we have geography, with a little helping of mutations and a handy-dandy radiation table. Next week, we have Magic in the SOX and more detailed radiation explanations.

docs.google.com/document/d/1tbh7C7YIiPgfFuJcgpoeRk0qP0vPM7i5tlhRtlVESDU/edit?usp=sharing

...

When are we getting the new book?

Those aren't mana voids, they're Fovae. Big-fucking-difference. Biggest difference being that they are astral portals that lead directly to the Horrors, as shown in Forbidden Arcana. The Azzies are directly involved in trying to bring the Horrors to earth.
Stop trying to suck Moctezuma's undead cock.

What does that excerpt prove anyway? That the dragons have secrets? Well golly-gee-wiz, how unique.

Why believe in/follow any meta-faction other than the Lodge? They survived to the Sixth world on magic power alone and they had to work to be immortal.

Okay so i'll put the SOX on places i will never visit, right next to boston and chicago.

But my runner team will absolutely go there.

They're a bunch of snooty white folk

Yekka, the Critter Powers for Infected from Run Faster don't all have proper costs for being added if you're an Infected. And since the new book adds more options, it seems like that might be useful? I know Regeneration doesn't have a cost in Chummer, for example.

Hrm, they should. I'll be looking into all of that as part of github.com/chummer5a/chummer5a/issues/2106 so subscribe to that issue if you want updates on it.

Hybrid street samurai and face.
Covers social and physical infiltration, violence, and driving. Drop some nuyen and you can carry an agent with you to hack things. You'll only be an allstar at one of the roles but the others will be professionally serviceable.

they won't let you into their inner circle cuz it's already full.

Technorigger

The Lodge has acomplished even less in the Sixth World than the Immortal Elves. At least the latter built two North Koreas. The Black Lodge has political productivity of the Freemasons.

Or is that just what they want you to think?

If it was possible to be a member of the Lodge without being a raging asshat, I most definitely would join. Unfortunately you're kinda mandated to be a dick.

Is there a link to errata? When I Google searched all I found was forum posts from other people asking for errata, which is ironic.

Also are there any recommended modules to take a look at to see how to structure things? Something like Lost Mines of Phandelver or Adventurers League for Shadowrun.

Using Improved Ability(skill) on face adept to get more points in Con and other social skills, is good or bad idea?

That they're still fooling you.

It's an okay idea, but not the best. You are better off buying Authoritative Tone and Cool Resolve because they give blanket bonuses to all social skills. After that you can buy Improved Ability (Con) and Improved Ability (Etiquette), but I'd personally spend those points on diversifying rather than being more of a pornomancer.

What about Commanding Voice from Stole Souls? Is it any good?

It is, if you've got the Leadership for it.

So are there any qualities i should take for playing a headcase still hiding?
I know that there is "one of them" but that's the one when the cat is out of the sack.
Dependant (Demanding) seems to be fitting to be playing as a stay at home dad. (banzai for sleep regulator + longhaul.)

Was thinking on taking elf with moderate (9 dice) social and stealth related skill and pistol with spec into light pistol and having a dicepool out of the ass (15+) to make use of the improved accuracy together with the burst fire of the sexy Fichetti Security, slap on stock, gas vents, extended mag and smartlink, and a dart pistol for stealthy takeouts, make my gm will allow capsule rounds for it.

Round of the whole thing with betaware move by wire 2.

Missing something or ideas ?

Some proposed houserules for a revamp of the character creation process. Aim is to even out the imbalance between priority selections (ie priority C dwarf being massively bang-for-buck while it's cheaper to be a shifter that transforms into a troll than it is to be a troll)

Horrors would be kind of cool getting splatted out just in the sense of our current campaign has one character that inadvertently found out about them and is having to team up with his mentor spirit to kill one, so that'd be nice being able to go beyond the imaginary stats.

Because the Order of St. Sylvester has a cooler aesthetic.

This is presumably a non-official thing, and would be PURELY a houserule to Chummer, correct?

>Elves get +2 on athletics tests, one more base EDG and increased Phys. Limit
For what reason?

I have learned one thing in my life, you can't beat the Nazis nor the Catholics when it comes to aesthetic.

They're delnar_ersike's house rules, one of the other devs. Presumably they'd be implemented as a custom data house rule, yes.
Brings them closer to the fluff I guess, otherwise they're just humans with pointy ears and naturally Bowie-esque hair.

The Skill Groups thing is stupid and a bad idea all around.

The positive quality bit is retarded. Just use Prime Runner gen.

Nobody uses the step-by-step chargen process at all. Why are you dumb enough to assume it'd be used.

Human was already the best metatype, why buff it?

Elves are shit, but this doesn't do anything to actually fix them. If you want to do that, then up their Agility directly. The athletics bit is nice I guess, but they're still garbage.

>Houserules clearly have no idea what's wrong with technomancers and just make them worse
It's impressive. Did CGL hire him?

He doesn't understand how Artificing works at all. That extra karma cost? Yeah, that's not to bind. That's to MAKE the focus. You STILL NEED to pay extra karma to bind it.

Wow, he REALLY hates magic, doesn't he? Why does this cuck not play Cyberpunk 2020?

I thought everyone here hated magic

No no, I do like magic pieces in my cyberpunk, but SR doesn't have magic pieces. SR on the other hand, Is a whole damn magic slab with a thing cyberpunk coating.
Of course I'm not serious but there IS a strong imbalance between magic and cyberpunk in SR.

No betaware at chargen

The axe delnar has to grind is that pretty much all technomancers wind up looking the same. He's not trying to fix the actual core issues with their reliance on sprites and such, more trying to force a situation where you can have two technomancers in the group that aren't just a xerox of each other's stats.
I think the intent is that the focus is automatically bound to you as part of the creation process, but it's a bit unclear. I've seen some arguments one way or the other on that previously.
Eh. MysAds are overplayed anyway. Losing Projection really isn't the big deal everyone pretends it is, and you get a disgusting amount of utility out of it.

Keep that Guy away form everything rules related, he is obviously rules-illiterate.

>pretty much all technomancers wind up looking the same
I hear that
I guess the other issue is that if you have a TM that can actually use CFs alongside regular Matrix Actions then it could screw the mundane Decker's skill niche.

Shit like this should not end up in Chummer.

You think that's impressive, check this out:
reddit.com/r/Shadowrun/comments/7fwp7i/what_needs_fixing_adding/
tl;dr- freelancer requests deep dive on rules issues, has no power to resolve any of them

Restricted gear quality, go big or go home.
Deltaware seems too implausible, unless his fixer is loffy.

Former only modifies the availability Limit, grades are subject to its own limitations.
Latter is broken.

If nothing else, the work he does to implement any of that will make it easier for other people to make their own house rules. That's always been my goal for Chummer, it should be completely customisable to the way you want to run your games. It'll never become a default option though.
Doesn't provide access to betaware.
A surprising amount of positive change comes from having a direct line to Hardy, from what I've seen.

>What are laser weapons and space stations?

Also, the entire geo-political rate of the world. Every nation and corporation is militarized, and they collectively support a vast secondary market of professional practitioners of violence. The widespread culture of self defense means large segments of the normal population are both at least minimally armed and jaded to violence and terror.

SR earth is a hard nut to crack.

What are the best House Rules for Shadowrun 5e?

Ends Of The Matrix

I don't use Matrix, at all, soooo. There is another? Someone way to unfuck CharGen?
