Infinity is a 28mm scale futuristic skirmish game by Corvus Belli where huge swords are issued to elite space operators who may or may not actually know how to use them.
How would your character/NPCs look on the TT? What faction would they be for?
Caleb Young
What are you talking about, user? It's summer right now.
Anthony Morales
Australia and latin america don't count.
Noah Barnes
I'm not in either of those.
Tyler Morgan
Haven't played yet, but the first session will be soon. Aleph, obviously. No relevant combat or social skills to speak of, but more of a coordinator and analyst. Inspiring Presence, Strategos III, Advanced Command on a barebones bot, maybe.
Carter Rivera
You don't exist, then. Problem solved.
Jayden Thompson
I'm having trouble using slow, heavily armed and armored units like Yān huǒ.Any advice?
Blake Johnson
Don't bother
TAGs and big HI are noob traps, just take cheap infiltration, smoke and combi FO grunts to max out on orders and AROs
Henry Ward
Kurwa
Justin Hall
This is such noob advice.
Christopher Anderson
>pic
Clearing the way for other units is the Yan Huo's main function, don't try to go hunting for awkwardly positioned troops with it. Beyond that, have enough orders to keep it going and just make the most of each move. S5 can sometimes let you move straight through obstacles that others would have to go around or over.
Ian Hernandez
Idk, sometimes if the Yān Huǒ is enough to serious deter the opponent from making otherwise good moves and/or waste too many orders to avoid, then he has done his job even if he didn't fire a shot.
Zachary Flores
Use the Yang Huo to herd the opponent in one direction. Drop a Tiger there.
Nolan Price
Looking for some third party heads for my ariadna army. Anyone know sizes that are right?
Think statuesque for females works. Anything else?
Why would anyone replace Ensemble Organum for some shitty German metal?
Angel Nelson
Just avoid the term "heroic scale" which have heads and hands that look like puppets and go for a true 28-32 mm scale. Any way you go you'll be needing a jeweler's saw, green stuff, and probably a drill.
I recognise it, but it doesn't answer the question. Mixing medieval music and metal for 13 year old boys doesn't have pleasant results.
Levi Clark
Only if you have no taste or imagination.
Andrew Jackson
There's been a few attempts to mix medieval music and metal, only Batushka was successful at it.
Benjamin Martinez
Are spec ops useable in regular lists? I'm looking at getting a Gui Feng just for the special weapons kit.
Parker Morales
In tournaments only if the tournament is using the specops mod. Otherwise it's if your opponent allows it. Personally I don't like playing with them, but if you asked me I'd let you use them.
Matthew Harris
If your opponent allows it. General rule is 4XP per 100pts, so 12XP in a 300pts game.
Brandon Ramirez
Who is the best HVT user?
Also how do you like the new HTV interactions in season 9? I heard Decapitation is stupidly unbalanced now.
James Ross
>maybe Run it through the tabletop conversion and see.
You already poster her. I'm upset at how few P-chan paint jobs I've seen on that pig.
Wyatt Collins
That never crossed my mind but it should have!
Nolan Long
It's not unbalanced, it's just... it's real easy to kill the DT. So it's hard to stop your opponent from scoring those 5 points.
Jason Rivera
>awaken, my mercenaries
Sebastian Martin
New shit was shown.
Aaron Lee
...
Andrew Flores
Dakini resculpt when?
Logan Hall
When vedic comes out
Asher Gray
Hmm. Not sure if I'm a fan of the drone butt thing sticking out of his neck. Will have to wait to see it painted up.
Bentley Cooper
Charontid pose is ass. Sculpt is pretty eh too.
Easton Thomas
Eh, pose doesn't do much for it but doesn't fuck it up either. Still a massive improvement over the Nuvatar because of that headdress alone, it actually looks like a command unit instead of a big dumb space monster.
Sebastian Powell
>who you callin' pinhead?
Elijah Bailey
...
Parker Clark
>new Thorakitai >new Garuda This is nice, I like this. Let me guess, these are the only Aleph releases we're getting this year.
Bentley Wood
>end of November I'd say you're right on the money my dude
Jaxon Allen
I remember complaints about wishing for a Plasma Rifle Charontid since I've been visiting these threads. Good for that user who's been wanting one I guess, although too late.
Wake me up from cryo-sleep when the Dakini Sniper Sculpt comes out.
John Baker
That was, bloody awesome.
They we're cooler without wings imo, reminds me of the Ursarax a little.
Jack Price
>this year You're adorable.
Christopher Hill
Meant next year, whoops.
Logan Myers
Where these are from?
Nolan Ortiz
I've ended up with another Nomads starter set. So I'm wondering how I should proxy the agulciles. I need jaguars what's the best way too do this? What can I add and take away?
Adrian Ward
OMG this makes me so hype for the roleplaying game
Daniel Ortiz
TAGS are a trap but not expensive HI
Parker Edwards
Fucking this. A unit who did nothing all game but force other units to work around him is 100 % worth
Jeremiah Peterson
You made me laugh in public you bitch
Daniel Peterson
Give em crazy colors and face paint
Charles Stewart
Dude with way too many Infinity minis and none of them painted here- have we gotten official art of an unhelmeted female Morat yet?
Landon Myers
>Dude with way too many Infinity minis and none of them painted here As someone with ~15k points of unpainted shit, shut the fuck up. And no.
John Clark
What are ghazi and why are they the best shit in the game
Charles Fisher
You use them as proxy models. I use mine to proxy Gui Lang combi rifle loadouts because the old Gui Lang are shitty.
Jonathan Watson
Either use the Neurocinetics one to just provide an order and ARO lockdown an area of the field, or push the HMC upfield anytime you spend a combined order.
Ryan Morales
Aleph newfag here.
I've bought the vanilla starter, posthumans 1,2,3 box and the support pack.
What am I missing? I'm yet to play a game but I want to know what stuff I can buy next so I can be prepared when I begin to play.
I feel like I need something capable of taking out a TAG? Heavy weaponry? I know I have enough hacking available to fuck up a tag but I think I need something capable of taking one out for good.
So far I'm looking at a naga with MF mines and a Marut.
Robert Cook
Cheap warbands that can effectively and conveniently threaten all kinds of enemies (chain rifle for little stuff, e/marat for big stuff, jammer to shoot through walls) and have multiple defensive options (dogged and smoke). They used to be completely fine, but got smoke recently for absolutely no reason.
Wyatt King
Ghazi are a warband unit. Warbands are typically known for being cheap expendable units that can harass and "punch up" meaning they can potentially kill something that is worth a lot more points than they cost. They are usually extremely impetuous which means they have to charge against the enemy each turn.
Ghazi are the only models with a special weapon called a Jammer. Jammers cause the isolated state and they can do this through walls. Being isolated sucks ass, especially for high point models. It prevents you from spending orders on them.
Ghazi cost 5 points and are almost always a significant threat to everything else in the game.
Brayden Harris
Echo would likely be a weird ALEPH unit. Sensor+Forward Observer, Camouflage, Infiltrate, Martial Arts 3, EXP CCW . No real ranged weapon bigger than a pistol but a hell of a melee fighter and good at fucking with other sneaky characters.
Gabriel Hill
>infiltrating camo specialist with sensor and no combi tax Dang
Kayden Johnson
the ghazi are the only reason I use speculative fire and feel they need a downgraded chain rifle. on that uses the small teardrop template. smoke isn't too bad.
Dylan Garcia
That's more or less what she was in-game. She was designed as a stealthy data gathering model to provide information back to forces. Taking to things with a large blade was just part of that 'Can you design a myrmidon...ever...without it having weird quirks?'
Jeremiah Wood
Smoke is the source of the problem imo, I've played them without smoke and they're much more balanced. They're still absolute motherfuckers in the midfield, but they require a bit of effort and planning to actually get there safely. I don't think just giving them a chain colt would do that much.
Jeremiah Parker
HEEEY. need some onyx help. pic related is what "Santa" got me for christmas. what would be an effective list that run the Overdron with 2 heavy rocket launcher? also, I am going to proxy the Missle Launcher Noctifier with the Sukeul Commando until they do a resculpt on the shasvastii models, so that is fair game too
Lucas Torres
If their engineer cant save it, a hacker DID kill it once and for all. Hell, eject the pilot then shoot their squishy ass.
There are ways to deal with tags. Melee, E/M, avoiding it to play objectives, avoiding it to rape its support. Hell, multi rifle and base hmg are plenty to wound a tag.
Owen Moore
Maybe something like this? Rodoks and Unidrons compete with each other for the core link, so you should pick which one you like best. Similarly it's hard to fit in Overdron and Noctifer because of the SWC. Personally I don't like the Umbras unless you were going to do the Samaritan haris, I'd proxy for a Nexus until it comes out.
Parker Roberts
If you want to stick to Vedic get the remote box. If not grab Scylla or Tuecer they're amazing to run in vanilla. One Asura + Scylla is gold
Ryan Morgan
*blocks your path*
Cooper Hall
It's worth noting that the Noctifers are some of the newest Shasvastii; I doubt those are getting a resculpt for years.
I tried making a list for you, you don't have Ímetrons, didn't know what to do.
Xavier James
#spreadbutthole
Adam Foster
Ooof. Thats basically all my favorite onyx models and now I'm actually try to make a list. Damn. Its ugly mack. The Overdron can probably get by on its albedo early game but it will need to be more of an aro piece, but I'm not sure what the aggro piece is. Its hard. And the Samaritan is basically just there for styling and to fill the LT quota. He really needs to
Yours is probably a better list, but I couldn't own a Samaritan and not run it.
Brayden Watson
Do we know the stats on the Blackjacks yet? As cool as they look, I'm really hoping they do actually have them have issues to justify why that type of power armour went out of style.
Jackson Stewart
Yes, they're in HSN3. They've got Heavyweight, which fucks with movement through gates, and Lo-Tech, which is basically Transformation except you have to lose all W from the first form instead of just one (not that it matters to the Blackjack, it's only got 1 W in the first form).
Matthew Hughes
...
Justin Taylor
Oh, Heavyweight, 4-2 movement and losing the seal on the armour hurting rather a lot. Yeah, that will do it. On the other hand: AP HMG, BS 13 and Arm 5 is pretty damn nice.
Cool, I was a bit worried they'd end up 'Better power armour' due to being a late release/so bulky.
Carson Powell
Where do these comics come from? Is there an archive?
Don't forget that they are also the only hackable Ariadna HI.
Leo Edwards
I mean, it's basically the Azrail but slightly cheaper.
Cooper Ramirez
They went out of style because the are garbage. They are sluggish, not terribly well-armored, hackable, bulky and break down quickly.
Adrian Phillips
I wish all art in the RPG was more comic-book like, with strong outlines and such. I think it fits the game more.
Also Ruiz is still working on Aristeia stuff, maybe we could get another comic from him in future?
Nathaniel Jenkins
It didn't really go out of style. Azra'il and Al Fasid wear similar armour, Nomad heavy suits have suspiciously similar feet, even Yan Huo is a highly advanced version of the same shit. It's like Traktor Muls compared to everyone else's remotes, or parachutists compared to higher level AD. The principles never really changed, Ariadna is just poor and primitive so it gets the old version that sucks and doesn't work properly.
Adrian Williams
Yeah they need to have smoke taken off them, and maybe the Jammers should be less reliable when they don't have LoF.
Easton Hughes
The Sniper Rifle profile is pretty cool
Connor Wilson
Jammer just shouldnt be a weapon period. And it definitely should't be on a 5 point AVA 4 model.
Nathaniel Phillips
What should the strategy be when placing your HVT? Close to the edges? Close to your own deployment zone? Close to where you actually want to fight? Hidden in cover but with an easily contested ZoC or out in plain sight with an awkward ZoC? Close to or far away from the opponent's HVT?
Brody Powell
I'm with you. Better than most hacking, none of the downsides. Maybe if it were a long skill and therefore no ARO. But I don't play Haq.
Jason Green
In most missions I just go for a spot that is out of LoS to the enemies models/firelanes and heavily covered by my fire lanes. It's not really that important. In the designated target missions it becomes very important and frankly it's just to easy to kill them so instead you should just try to go first.
Joseph Gutierrez
How often do things get nerfed/buffed in infinity anyway?
Adam Flores
Every time a new book comes out, so once every decade.
Blake Evans
So assuming the book they talked about drops next year some old shit might have profiles changed?
Blake Martin
To be fair, they're changing that up a bit with seasons and mid-seasons in different ways. TAGs have been heavily buffed last season, for example. Missions with Datatrackers also buff capable non-camo units.
