So I'm thinking of using pic related for a norse team. Going with armoured bear for yeti, but any good recommendations for berserkes and werewolves?

You could use standard norse models from Fantasy. There are also excellent 3rd party teams from comixininos.com.

Any ETA on DZ3?

Why are BB generals so dead? This game is alive for 120 years now yet there is no BB community on Veeky Forums beside ~20 anons

BB comes in waves. You play it for a bit, enjoy it, take a break. Then you eventually come back to it. Also unlike a lot of games, much of the meta is "sorted" by now so discussion points are limited.

What is the biggest noob trap team for beginners and why?

fumbbl.com/ffblive.jnlp?spectate=1021030

Dunno about DZ3 but December is the Almanac isn't it?

Eh, it's more like yeah bloodbowl is the most popular specialist game, but it also results in the most insular communities.

It's a game with high salt-factor and the easiest way to enjoy it is digitally.
Because it never changes there's very little discussion too.

Block is good, dodge is good, etc etc. The basic strategies are "solved" in a sense, any outlier strategy which relies on random chance isn't worth discussing because it's extremely unlikely you'll get a Str5 Wardancer.

People play bloodbowl, some people play in the Veeky Forums league, the discord funnels away a lot of posting, and the world keeps turning. Elf union soon with a shitload of extra tchotchke you can buy. The people who want to buy it will buy it, the fumbbl parasites will ignore it, and the world keeps turning.

Anyone using GW official BB app or any other digital tool?

the BB app gw put out is hot garbage, DLC paywalls everywhere

pen and paper is the way to go for team rosters unfortunately

Shame, I'm sucker for digital stuff for traditional games. I'm gonna play orcs anyway so eventually I would be willing to pay $10 for rules but it seems that this app is pretty buggy tho

They're coming out with reference cards for your players so you can buy those if you need swag

Yeah I think so. Despite already having the main rules and both the DZ, I think I am gonna get the Almanac. It seems really handy.

I feel like I'm gonna buy all available accessories for my team one day desu

Anyone have speculation what theme DZ 3 will be? Maybe Undead themed with Khemri, Necro, Vampire and Undead?

probably whatever GW wants to sculpt, we might not get DZ3 for a long time depending on what teams they work on next

We'll probably get Chaos, Nurgle, and Elves in 2018, with maybe one wildcard team (norse?)

That's fair. I wonder if they are going to make the Chaos Warriors go Blood Bowl video game route with short shorts or keep their full plate look.

I just hope the Almanac has ALL Star Players, including legacy team ones.

I want my Zzharg Madeye for Chorfs dammit.

unlikely, it seems more like a compilation of DZ1, DZ2 and White Dwarf

I hope for something new too but I think that may be wishful thinking. Also isnt Zharg essentially the same as Barik Farblast?

Sadly yes and it pisses me off that they blatantly copied him like that

So Zharg came first? Poor guy.

Ordering big box for two players today. What else do I need? Already downloaded DZ1 and DZ2

I recommed a TI-84 calculator for determining exactly how bad the odds are of the dice screwing you over like that.

Compiling together the 2 Death Zone Seasons available so far, with some fantastic content from White Dwarf articles content added on, this is an essential book for every Blood Bowl coach. Contained in the 140-page hardback:

- Official League rules! This is a guide to running a Blood Bowl league, taking you through drafting and maintaining teams, dealing with casualties, earning and spending Star Player points, playoffs and continuing into new seasons. Includes a blank roster/match record sheet;

- Optional League rules! With these, you can handicap the amount of gold that top-flight teams earn, keep Star Players around longer, earn sponsorship deals (as long as you don’t mind being a dirty shill), bring in infamous referees, cheerleader and coaching staff, use different balls (some of which are a bit… explodey), and set up exhibition matches;

- 12 Star Players! Barik Farblast, Glart Smashrip, Kreek Rustgouger, Horkon Heartripper, The Swift Twins, Bo Gallanté, Willow Rosebark, Karla Von Kill, Helmut Wulf, Ripper Bolgrot, Scrappa Sorehead, and Madcap Miggz are all in here, ready to play for your team (for a price);

- Hall of Fame! The Bright Crusaders, Orcland Raiders, Warpfire Wanderers, The Greenboyz, The Grudge Bearers, The Celestial Comets, The Chaos All-Stars, and The Underworld Creepers are featured in this illustrious, glorious Hall, along with their history and team rosters;

- More Stuff! Alternate rules for using Special Play cards, a compendium of player skills, an OFFICIAL reference for the teams available to play, a summary of all the Star Players and a selection of weather tables, all in one handy place;

- An FAQ! This provides clarity on a number of rules based on feedback from the Blood Bowl community.

A double-sided card Blood Bowl pitch, complete with matching dug-outs, this is the perfect place for your Goblin teams to play. One side features a slightly worse for wear grass (and mud) pitch, covered in craters and debris – it’s even sprouting mushrooms. The other side is the same pitch after an extremely heavy rainfall – it’s completely waterlogged, and some unfortunate Goblins have drowned in the craters.

The pitch is made to the same specifications as the board included with the Blood Bowl boxed game, and includes rules for play on a waterlogged pitch.

That looks nice

A double-sided card Blood Bowl pitch, complete with matching dug-outs, this is the perfect place for your Elven Union teams to play. One side features a perfectly manicured grass pitch with an Elven Union symbol delicately mown into the centre, the other is a frozen field entirely covered in ice by the swirling winds of magic. The dug-outs are themed to match, with opulent marble boxes and gems everywhere – they feature score trackers, reserves, Knocked Out and Serious Injury boxes, Down trackers for both halves, and a re-roll tracker.

The pitch is made to the same specifications as the board included with the Blood Bowl boxed game, and includes rules for playing on a frozen pitch.

The Elfheim Eagles are notable for eschewing the fancy outfits and extravagant parties of Elven teams past in favour of drills, training sessions and even more drills. The fans may have disapproved at first, but after the Elfheim Eagles nudged out Nurgle’s Rotters to win Blood Bowl XX they became known as one of the finest passing play teams to ever grace the pitch.

This multi-part plastic kit contains the components needed to assemble The Elfheim Eagles, an Elven Union Blood Bowl team. The team consists of 6 Linemen (4 of which are actually Linewomen), 2 Blitzers, 2 Throwers and 2 Catchers, each of whom are as impressively-cheekboned and beautiful as you might expect from an Elven team. The heads and shoulder pads are interchangeable between the miniatures, meaning your team can look unique.

There are a host of extras in the kit – 2 turn markers, 2 double-sided score coins and 6 balls, 4 of which are encrusted with opulent gemstones. Supplied with 12 32mm Blood Bowl bases and an Elven Union transfer sheet.

I don't like their faces. They all look so manly

I hope it will be released also as pdf or epub

>manly

user I've got bad news for you

Why even putting boob-plate on models if all faces are male?

because elves all look the same whether male or female

But shouldn't elves look womanly rather than manly?

Alright well, elf union is a no-brainer buy, same with the almanac, but I probably won't buy all the pitches, blood on the snow seems like the best bet (since I'm a leaf and all) but I might have to nab the goblin pitch too

Other side of the elf pitch is frozen.

with entirely different shit rules and no weather table

That expands my Christmas shopping. Alamanc, Goblin pitch and Goblin dice.

What team has the highest tendency to implode in on itself?

Vampires and Ogres.
Anything team that requires a lot of rolling to carry out actions.

WHY IS BB2 SO FUCKING STUPID WITH ITS DICE ROLLS

LIKE FUCKING SERIOUSLY ITS BLATANTLY STUPID, IT LITERALLY PICKS ONE PLAYER AT THE BEGINNING OF THE GAME AND THEN JUST FUCKS OVER THE OTHER GUY OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN UNTIL THE GAMES OVER, THEN SAYS "LMAO DUDE, YOUR SHITTY EXPENDABLE PLAYERS GOT MVP! XDXDXDDD THATS BLOOD BOWL BABY!"

THIS IS THE WORST RNG ALGORITHM IVE EVER FUCKING SEEN IN MY GOD DAMN LIFE JUST LET ME FUCKING GET ONE GOD DAMN TOUCH DOWN REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

IM PLAYING AGAINST FUCKING KHEMRI AND THEY'VE SUCCESSFULLY PASSED AND PICKED UP THE BALL EVERYTIME WITH THE LOWEST CHANCES POSSIBLE AND ALWAYS FUCKING DODGE AND KNOCK OUT MY GOD DAMN CHAOS DWARF PLAYERS IM FUCKING DONE, I'M SO FUCKING DONE

git gud

Get cancer

Any pictures of the frozen side? Can only find pictures of the grassy side somehow.

Go on the GW store site - it's there, in pre-orders

What is your current W/L record? If Chaos Dwarfs are causing you this much aggro, maybe you should try regular Dwarfs? Much easier to play.

Because they got lazy.

Yup, that's it. Sad but true.

Basically the only useful thing from the app are the new teams.

So, here they are!

I guess I just have bad luck. 0 wins, 4 losses, 2 draws.

I actually wasn't sure if any were female. I think one or two look feminine. Rest look too boyish.

What other teams do you play man? That's pretty hard results. I'd suggest go for Orcs or normal Dwarfs to relieve yourself a bit. Or a break in general worst case.

Might as well post it for the thread.

Hey, if you think BB2 is bad, you should play on FUMBBL. The guy who runs it was saying he uses this code to reroll certain coaches dice: if (coachName == "sann0638" && roll >= 4) { roll = rng.roll(6); }. I thought he was joking until I snooped around in the client and the server and found the list of players. There is also one that does the opposite for people that donate enough money, it rerolls their dice if it is less than a 3.

And they're shit too.

You sure he wasn't just joking? Do you have any evidence cause I am kind of curious.

So, is there any must-have item I have forgot about?

Nothing really. You got everything critical. Assuming you aren't a tabletop gamer, glue and paint. Otherwise you're golden. Have fun!

Do GW local stores sell these in store or is it only available in order?

I will have my four bombers will HMP.

Imagine it, a game with 64 bombs thrown...

Would take a while to level them up even with the new MVP system.

So the image I posted IS bad results then? you think the RNG is borked in it?

Is borked? No

Can be borked? Well you can get some bad games absolutely. It's just Chaos Dwarfs are considered one of the stronger teams at the start. It's not bad, you got more draws than losses but it may be something to do with how you're playing them. That record would be pretty gud for Stunty but Chaos Dwarfs, something is up.

Or you just got rough housed by some really strong uber teams. As before, maybe try another team momentarily? Its hard to learn with Chaos Dorfs.

After starting off really badly with pic related I think I have fallen for the Vampire team.

Now that they're developed I feel practically untouchable. Defenses just collapse with a few good hypno gazes and no ball carrier is safe. Vamps can go anywhere they want and with up to six of them on the field with blodge, not even killer Chaos can do much against them.

Phenomenal team.

But once they do, take the Pox-Flingers and put them on your LoS and let chaos rein...

Or if they get +ag make them a 'melee' bomber.

only web order, but you can web order in the local store which supports the store, and they can help with customer service issues

Guess I should book my order then. Not 100% on the Goblin pitch simply cause of storage but it looks funny. But those dice look delicious!

any pro elf coaches here? do you ever want 4 catchers or is 2 fine?

should I buy two GW pro elf kits or just one is what I'm subtly asking

Not a pro Elf coach but here is a link to starting Pro Elf Rosters

fumbbl.com/help:LRB6ElfSetUp

Essentially no, you can work fine with just 2 catchers and you should be adequate with one box. Unless you want a second for maybe fans, spectators or staff.

I mean I can greenstuff cloaks onto any unused elves, for AoS assassin's or other models, glue deldar or harlequin guns into their hands.

Yeah I checked the starting rosters, just not sure how pro elves grow, I've never played them past 1100TV honestly

I think it would be worth your while just to convert the extra 2 catchers than splashing out a full second team. I have no idea either honestly. I can see catchers becoming 4 extra pseudo blitzers.

For humans as an example I never use catchers and just go four blitzers.

yeah but the human team sucks while proelves get nerves of steel

I know, was just a simple example.

New version of the old Beastmen team! Mutations for all and Ungors are now only for fouling.

From scentofagamer.wordpress.com/2017/11/18/beastmen-teams-in-blood-bowl

To quote the maker:

The final version of the team ended up being closer to my original vision for the team (back in the 1990s I mean) than I had expected, which was a pleasant surprise. If you used the team I first posted, you’ll notice some big changes.

Ungors

These are back are their diminutive Strength 2, but now with horns and access to mutations on normal rolls. Don’t underestimate these little guys, they can run fast and hit hard!

Gors

These are the beasts you know from the general chaos team, turns out they didn’t need to be changed here.

Bestigor

These guys go down to strength 3 but gain block. Heavily armoured but not significantly stronger or faster than a Gor, these players give you early access to some stability on the line of scrimmage.

Centigor & Minogor

Lots of feedback on the new player type, but ultimately I changed the team around the Centigor and left it as is. It performs the role of line-breaker well, but will need support to make anything of this. The Minogor is the same Minotaur from other chaos teams with its name changed to reflect beastmen terminology.

Centigors are just better Bull Centaurs.

I approve.

Centigor seems too good with ag3. Drop it to ag2 and I think the team works.

2 regular catchers are fine.
But skilling the remaining 2 (or just 1) to some kind of auxilliary blitzers is a valid strategy.

Ideas for good thralls?

I'm not looking to spend 80+ bucks on 10 models..

I love the electro priests. If I snip off the cogs and shit, but it's 40ish for 5.

ded

How about a thug/brutish look? Like hired mercenaries that know the risk, but the rich vampires pay handsomely.
irongolems.com/store/human-team
pic related. Still expensive though.

Or Human Linemen from GW? Go for a gang-pressed/enslaved human players look. Trim of their weapons, make their armor dingy and paint their skin in a pale, sickly tone. Maybe some blood splatter near the neck.

Empire state troopers or even hunters?
Just remove weapons and make them look a bit raggedy. Could also go with the normal Human models and just make small adjustments

I'm using these as my vampires. Going to remove their weapons.

I don't want humans that are bigger.

I prefer Bestigors being ST4 and Ungors with dodge

>post this
>lose 3 vampires last 4 games
>dead Ag5 Blodge Vamp
>-1 Str blodge Vamp
>dead Blodge vamp

Nuffle really does have eyes and ears everywhere

Bump

Please help - I need a team that is easy to play for a newbie and has no new models yet. I just want to buy a box of a basic AoS/40k unit and have some fun with kitbashing. Edgy Elves? Plant Elves? Skellies? I have no idea how each team is doing, I just know the basic rules

Woodies are fun, kinda squishy but elf bs is always hilarious.
Delfs are a bit bashier/robust so they might be easier for a new player.
Undead or Necro, no idea.
Lizardmen maybe? Kinda bashy, also fast with the skinks.
Amazons are a nice low TV team.
Kislev Circus is the new slann skin, no models whatsoever, so you could go all out here with kitbashing.

But why do you exclude the teams that got new models? No one forces you to use them. Just make your own orc/human/dwarf/skaven/pro elf team.
Orcs are are really beginner friendly too.

Pic related. Custom orc posted in the last thread.

Dark Elves are more or less the strongest team out of the box.

They're like humans but better.

>kislev are slann
I didn't know that. Is fumbbl going to change the icons?

I was referring to the more or less official stance towards slann, since they aren't allowed in the video game and Cyanide basically put a kislev themed skin on them to have them in the game.
Gotta have to wait for them to appear in some official material or getting minis to be sure.
And considering how liberal the bb community is when it comes to models (I have seen a literal MLP team ffs) I see no reason against a kislev circus team for tabetop.
Would be pretty unique so far and probably quite the convserion project.

No idea about fumbbl though.

Orruk brutes make for nice black orc blockers.

I know you said no new models but a winning combination are Orcs. You can kitbash Orks from 40k or Orcs from AoS and get one of the best teams out of the box. Its win-win.

I still have an unpainted rat ogre from Spire of Dawn. IMO he looks just perfect to be used in Blood Bowl. Can I just buy a Skavenblight Scramblers box, slap the rat ogre and call it a day? Do I need any more models to run a proper skaven team?

Yeah pretty much. Although some Skaven teams like to use 4 gutter runners, two is pretty adequate for the start.

How do I play rats anyway? Are they a good pick for a fresh player? I bet they are tricky bastards in Blood Bowl too
