So what was he guilty of exactly?

1. Make a group for positive mtg interactions on facebook called Magic for Good. Ie people discussing mtg stuff (kinda like on here) What do you think of card X? Is deck y viable? What would you change in my Z list?

2. Group is hard to moderate, cant be on FB all time. There are other mods but its all volunteer.

3. Woo makes a group dedicated to trolling and off color humor so that the trolls will go there instead of Magic for Good. Its called Magic for Bad. Sort of like /b/ /s4s/ or /bant/. This proves effective and doesnt require Woo to do anything. People in M4G can tell people who troll to go to M4B. Basically automoderation.

4. Memes and trolls stay in the facebook group. They dont harass people or send the posts at the facebooks of the people their memes are about.

5. The shit with unsleeved happens. Mob forms. Unsleeved doesnt give a fucking about a dci ban or whatever. They cant get blood out of Unsleeved because he simply does not care.

6. Twoo makes a video saying that mobs are bad. Doesnt tow the mob line and gets noticed by the mob. Twoo already has a slight history with the "My Struggle" thing. (Although he doesnt do anything wrong). Twoo is now in mobs sight.

7. Some female mtg player or w/e goes into M4B and pulls out some "p1p1" post except instead of the cards its female players. (Keep note that this is private and wasnt sent to those women). Its basically a "who do you think is the hottest woman in mtg"

8. People get bootyblasted about it. Since Twoo is the mod of it he gets all the blame. Twoo, unlike unsleeved, still wants to play so he freezes/deletes the group almost immediately.

9. His team drops him and the mob gets the blood they want.

Twoo may have said some unsavory things in the group but holy shit. Why cant people fucking have harmless fun on the internet anymore?

He's definitely guilty of handling this like a whipped soyboy desu, he didn't even follow rule number 1 of being named and shamed: never apologize.

The game is already on the decline with misteps in most formats. I stopped playing standard after my deck got banned, didn't feel like spending another few hundred dollars to compete with a less fun deck

I definitely cannot quit this thing cold turkey. I haven't played a game of Magic in years but I'm still here hating on it and keeping informed about the issues and the metagame of the formats I cared about. I'm even keeping lists of cards I need to bring my decks up to date if I ever get back into it.

I have absolutely cut my measurable involvement to Magic. They're not getting my money or my attendance. But I can't quit watching it set itself on fire for all the reasons why I quit.

They haven't read 1984 in high schools in Canada since the baby boomers went to high school. Kids are still reading things their parents read when they went to school but 1984 is not among them.

I just got that impression that nobody read it because I've talked to multiple people from all the provinces and none of them said 1984 was in their curriculum - most people hadn't even heard of it. Some people saw the books sitting there in the supply room (the same books their parents read) but the English departments hadn't taught it for years.

I understand that the book is probably still there under approved teaching materials by the education board, but I got the impression that there weren't enough teachers around who still knew how to teach the book.

I can get behind your reasoning. Don't get me wrong: I think the mechanics of the game are great and really shine through when playing modern. Additionally, since the art direction has gone to shit, modern still has the classic dark fantasy vibe that definitely takes me back to first playing ice age when I was ~5ish with my older brother.

I'll say this too: I think a good part of the community are pretty level headed, good people (i.e. not SJW trash). I haven't sold any of my JUND essentials, so maybe I'll hold out.

I'm also right there with you concerning following some part of the game, even while not being active in it. But for me, this really feels like the straw that has broken my back. Twoo got fucked, I hate wizards, and I don't care enough about the hobby to be outraged or "fight back" (whatever that means). Maybe it's just time to fully move on from the game, if that makes sense.

That's wrong, Wizards NEEDs high modern prices so they can't print two Master sets a year that have juicy margins.
