Are any of the Champion of the Spheres archetypes especially good?

No, because my players just made it to level 5. We're too invested to change now.

I'm feeling like a fucking brainlet, where do I find base form stats for unchained eidolons?

>using PoW or SoM
Avowed was a mistake

This post is packed with hidden meaning, and inspires me.

Discipline Errata when?

Easily, SoM is nice and simple while working with SoP. Plus strikers kick ass

>phasing out
>not using both

Come now, Coiled Blade + Myrmidon Fighters are the way forward my dude.

It's single class unfortunately, nice try though, I am aiming for that anyway in terms of motivation

Yes.

Whoever you think I am, you're wrong

Tell me about Cavaliers, why do they ride the mount?

Perhaps they're wondering why Paizo would make a class so shitty before releasing it to the public?

At least you can talk! If I take you off the mount, will you die?

Given how reliant are Cavaliers on their mount, that seems likely

It would be extremely gimped...

You're a full BAB class.

For you!

(That only matters in) 4 E!

Well congratulations, you got yourself dismounted! What's the next step of your master plan?

So the party's nearing the end of a superdungeon (Lich's former tower). The final treasure is going to be worth about 12,500 gold. I'm at a loss for what to put in it though. What should it include?

Mount (you)!

1250 pieces of platinum

Performing a Charge.
WITH NO SURVIVORS!

You know exactly what Veeky Forums is going to suggest.

No, since he doesn't mention the system.

Hey guys, I want to know if this encounter is bullshit or not. My GM just TPK'd us.

So, we're level one, and all of us have neat initiator like homebrew things and Spheres of Power classes. We're looking for this police inspector in the woods kidnapped by brigands, and outside a little cottage run into a necromancer pirate who had a whole bunch - about 4-5 zombies/zombie dogs with him, and the necromancer thought we'd be nice zombies too.

We were missing our blaster caster that day, but instead of running away our natural attacking fighter charged in and failed all but one attack, and immediately got flanked and focused because she was the only one in range. I tried to help out by using a close range counter, but all that meant is that she went down on turn two instead of turn one, and a zombie dog bit my character, and managed to AoO her when she tried to fly out of reach, putting her in the negatives.

Meanwhile our other ranged attacker was taking potshots from range but didn't want to leave us to become zombies so climbed up a tree - that helped to take down a couple of the zombies but that meant she was a pretty easy target for the necromancer's rifle since she couldn't maneuver, and so we all went down.

Now, we probably could have breezed through this if we had our caster with burning hands and other AoE attacks, or if we'd held back in the woods with cover and not rushed into the open to get swarmed, flanked and attacked and compounded that by trying to save the fighter, but it happened anyway. The GM is kind of scratching his head, throwing out the old plot and working out how to not turn us into dumb zombies (I think the last idea was some OTHER necromancer raising us as as intelligent undead with some neat templates but it's a bit of a leap), but was that a bullshit encounter?

Your copypasta is stale, fuck off already.

Which books are essential to read for Pathfinder as a player? Which books are essential to read as a GM?

Is this the Nameless Fairy/Lily Fae Shardwalkers session 1 TPK copypasta again?
Need I remind everyone that Argentum literally turned the party into NE/CE undead after the fight?

myth-weavers.com/sheet.html#id=1153385
myth-weavers.com/sheet.html#id=1157678

"Hey guys, you know those characters you made? And the game you signed up for? Well Imma TPK you guys in the first fight and make you come back as NE/CE undead. Good luck have fun, welcome to the rest of the campaign!"

The only reason they're sticking around is because "Well I guess talking to NPCs is okay enough and we like the roleplaying."

And Argentum's been running only 1 game every 4 weeks so it's slow as fuck.

Does he have ADD or something? He was running through campaign ideas at a mile a minute, back when RotJR was fresh in the popular consciousness.

The player's handbook.

The Dungeon Master's Guide.

>level 2
this game has been running how long?

Since early April.
1 session every 4 weeks, boys.

Looks like copypasta's back on the menu boys.

>get killed by rusty dagger shank town

Are there any recommendations for what should I use Dark Focus on as a Harbinger? Cursed Razor?

Is level 2 still rusty dagger shank town?

source?

user from last thread. got some good advice about a strange aeons game, and was wondering if I could get more. leaning towards alchemist, but beyond "discoveries are good" and "bombs doing stuff beyond fire damage", I have no idea what to do. Any help would be great. Thanks!

The hell are these classes?

Sounds like gonzo.

Touhou Battle Grimoire.
If you think Path of War is bullshit overpowered for combat, wait 'til you see oslecamo's masterpiece.

Help anons?

All the Touhou disciplines are banned by my GM for being simply and utterly bullshit really

minmaxforum.com/index.php?topic=4591.0
Ahaha, holy shit these numbers.

Gonzo's class is called the Battle Butler and doesn't use maneuvers.

What's wrong with the numbers?

Ehhh, I'd say it's out of rusty dagger shank town, but you're still in Muscled Thugsbury County.

Picking one at random, and remember that you have more ranks in 3.5 than in Pathfinder...

minmaxforum.com/index.php?topic=8385.0

1st level
Vocal Sign-"Hooting in the Night"
Deaf to All but the Song (Strike)
Level: Scholar 1
Initiation Action: Fullround Action
Range: radius of 20 feet per IL
Duration: Instantaneous
Save DC:11+Int mod.

Hooting can be heard coming from nowhere, slowly driving people mad.

Enemies inside the area must make a Will save or become confused for 1 round for every rank you have in Knowledge (Nobility and Royalty). If they fail two more saves against this while already confused they become permanently insane until you're killed or willingly end the effect as an immediate action. Even creatures normally immune can be affected, but they gain a +5 bonus on their saves. If you were hidden, you do not reveal your position. If you were invisible, you don't break it.

Level 1 maneuver. Level. Fucking. 1.

You've got, like, 5 ranks by level 2, back in 3.5.

Generally level 4 is considered out of rusty dagger shank town. However a level 3 Barbarian or Bloodrager generally is extremely difficult to kill during rage if they’re built for defense.

I am playing a level 3 Bloodrager and he is sporting a healthy 46 HP while bloodraging and good defenses across the board.

>Even creatures normally immune can be affected, but they gain a +5 bonus on their saves. If you were hidden, you do not reveal your position. If you were invisible, you don't break it.

So stuff like this was available to that TPK group and... they still died...

What if the GM was using it too?

For mounted PoW characters, its probably a good idea not to use feats for spirited charge and ride-by attack right? I hear that you dont get double/triple damage with a lance if you were using a maneuver

I consider level 5 being out of Rusty Dagger Shanktown, but I also give enemies access to PoW.

It depends on how brutal your campaign is.

Is all forgiven because one of the characters is a cute foxgirl turned yuki-onna?

You still get double/triple damage with a lance, it's just that any extra damage given by a maneuver gets added at the end of the equation instead of being multiplied.

You would get double/triple on your modifier and the weapon dice, but extra damage from maneuvers/stances/boosts is not multiplied. Not multiplied on crits, either.

I personally feel you ascend from Rusty Dagger Shanktown at level 3. Enough HP that standard attacks won't kill you easily (Your average wizard is going to have about 16 HP, which is more than enough to take a single hit as long as it isn't a crit. Warrior types will be harder to hit and hardier), you get a certain baseline of class abilities and additional customization (full casters have level 2 spells, everybody has an extra feat, and the beginnings of multiclass builds are finally showing themselves), gear becomes actually available (most groups will finally be able to put the fighter in full plate, and everybody starts truly getting access to shinies), and yet it's still low level enough to have the characters be amateurs in the grand scheme of things.

Level 3 is when the entire paradigm shifts away from Schmucks trying not to die to warriors with a great destiny ahead of them.

If you were writing a class, how would you handle balancing spontaneous casting with having access to the whole list of spells and getting them at odd levels? Is the best way giving the class some way to convert prepared spells into a subset of their list like a Cleric would or is there no good way to do it?

Or perhaps I need to get over my irrational hatred of prepared casting and and Wisdom-based spellcasters..I also realized last night that the longer I play the game and the more classes come out that I realize I hate Wizard since you have to take a specialization or lose free spells. I can't bring myself to play them since Wizard by itself has very few interesting mechanics.

I would create path of war, but for spells.

So, 4e.

I take critical hits from random encounters into account.

Why is the rest of Veeky Forums bullying blinklings?

Because they're a shit race?

Is the Champion of the Spheres pdf up anywhere yet?

Which is more fun, aegis or soulknife?

I have had more fun with an archetyped soulknife. But unarchetyped, I would most probably play the aegis.

Which archetype for soulknife did you use?

I bet it was psychic armory, warsoul, gifted blade meme. I don't know what else can compete with aegis in options.

I use Nimble Blade + Gifted Blade archetypes with my soulknife.

Just wanted to do a sorcerer Illusionist, but Shadow-shit is the only thing worth a damn and Gnomes get all the best shit. I don't want to take Gnome heritage nonsense either.

Wizards would be a good way to go, but they have absolutely no face skills.

Hrm, well PoW isn't allowed so war soul is out - though i might be able to talk the DM into allowing me to have deadly agility at most.

>race created as a half-breed between what are effectively children and dogs.
I fucking wonder why.

Thank Gareth for blinklings.

wasn't he contractually obligated to do it, even though he hated them

Is Shield Brace worth the feat if you aren't playing a class that has a million extra feats?

Siabrae or lich, /pfg/?

d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/monster-listings/templates/lich/

d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/monster-listings/templates/siabrae-cr-2

Boku noku mushoku tensei desu

Siabrae, it's less overplayed and they look cooler with those horns.

Unless you mean which would win in a fight, in which case I'm not sure. Depends more on their build and level.

In another thread, it was brought up that Asmodeus (LE) didn't want free will, while Ihys (CG) did. Ihys won in the free will department, but Asmodeus killed Ihys in response.

That's what Asmodeus says anyway, he very well could be lying. Why?

Why what? Why would he say that? Why would he lie? Why would he have killed Ihys? Why was he against free will?

Because he says that he did it reluctantly, the killing and that out of love for his brother he let mortals have free will. Just stinks of something he'd say because he lost in the grander scheme of things and couldn't take free will away.

The killing Ihys and free will part

“I was only PRETENDING to take away your free will”?

>“I was only PRETENDING to take away your free will”?
I think more "Yeah, but I love my brother so much that I wouldn't take free will away because I love onii-chan" over the most likely "Shit, free will is now an actual thing that I can't just root out. Fuck you, onii.chan, you wily cunt!"

>Is this the Nameless Fairy/Lily Fae Shardwalkers session 1 TPK copypasta again?
Yes.

>And Argentum's been running only 1 game every 4 weeks so it's slow as fuck.
Ain't that the fucking truth. The actual sessions are great, but I'm nearing my breaking point on the amount of fucking flake we're dealing with.

For the cost of brew potion, getting all of those spells is a nice treat. Ectoplasmic Mutagen is ALSO strong if you can afford using extracts to buff your armor

take orator

>the amount of fucking flake we're dealing with.
How bad is it?

Oh it's so bad, nobody shows up to sessions and Argent has multiple times begged people to keep quiet about it, but I can't stay quiet any longer.

t. shitposter who doesnt know anything about the game but wants to make people upset anyway

Ha-ha... yeah, j-just a shitposter...

FUCK

Went with 2 traits instead so I can have two feats open. Sound better or is there some benefit otherwise?

orator gives you all the face skills

Is this the end of Argentum?

Will we finally be rid of this autist?

But you need two feats for it, right? Wouldn't
Extremely Fashionable and Fast-talker be better, because you'd get 2 face skills of your choice and keep your feats?
