Dark Souls is not unapologetically European.
It takes place in a Western inspired setting, but the Eastern lens of the developer is very much present.

It is literally based on the fighting fantasy books written by the GW founders. Miyazaki couldn't read them very well so he had to fill in the gaps himself. He used the world in his head with all it's gaps as inspiration.

The character slider also lets you make blue, green, orange, purple and pink characters. The souls character creator is extremely variable and lets you design a character the same way European roleplaying games do. YOU decide everything. Doesn't stop it being European. See JRPGs for the more Asian style of adventure games. For Africa... LOL WRITING
