Business Edition. We know the Megacorps who own the souls of every fragger out there, but what about the actual places people go to, besides the generic places? Do you have custom restaraunts or bars? Does EVERYTHING come from a stuffer shack or are there more flavorful places to go to?

ELDER WEEB
A withered old man with a balding head and the remnants of a ponytail. He was alive to witness the last era of weebs, before the crash, and carries that legacy with him to guide the new generation. Elder Web is a shaman of man, and the spirits he summons take the forms of long lost television shows and toy lines. His charms and fetishes are cherished collectible figures and merch.

LOUD UNATTENDED CHILD
Where the hell are this kid's parents? This ballsy child is constantly wearing an AR overlay of his favorite trid show, some awful interactive creature collector series. He obnoxiously refers to the team as his 'faction friends' and the small army of realistic drones he commands as his 'Dorirorumon', whatever the frag that is. Somebody paid real good nuyen to keep this kid distracted all day long, his AR software is sophisticated enough to change violence and vulgarity into cartoony fun, and his drones are apparently doubling as bodyguards. A total simsense addict.

The only place a runner needs to know.

So why would an elf ever get involved in a committed relationship with anything but another elf (or maybe a dwarf). With the life expectancies they'd outlive all of their potential partners.

Cashing in on their Life insurance?

>life insurance
>sixth world

>Cyberskull: .75 essence, 4 capacity, 16 Availability, 10K nuyen
>Partial Cyberskull: .4 essence, 4 capacity, 12 availability 8k Nuyen

Why the fuck do I want a regular cyberskull?

They'd just be even scummier and never pay for any of it.

Is there a way to have my character own a business on the side? Like a nice little coffee shop on the good side of town?

Day job?

Yeah, there is a commercial lifestyle for owning a business. page 218 in Run Faster

If you use karmagen for character creation should qualities still cost double after chargen?

>Why the fuck do I want a regular cyberskull?
You can get an extra one point of bulk on a full cyberskull? That way you can stuff in 3 armor and then... I don't know, an oral slasher?

Probably not worth .35 essence extra. Maybe partial cyberskull was meant as a patch to the regular one.

>needs 8 hits to just break even
Jesus, this is what I wanted but that is hard to take

Take dayjob as well, use the funds that you earn from dayjob to pay off the cost you get for running your store.

There's a little electronics shop a few levels down from my flat, between the bay and Little Bangkok. Guy I know from juvi runs it with his brother, a couple orks. Must know what they're doing, he'll even buy hot cargo if it's hard enough to get. His little bro hangs around the nanobeat cyber rap crowd, and has his ear out for new tech or who likes to fight who. Bring them a six pack and bring up boxing if you wanna do some business, and don't so much as flick your eyelid at his girl if she passes through.

Good noodles next door.

>simple wetwork job

>ohshit
>mfw my skimmers explode and I fly into the warehouse, taking out the decker target and crashing out the other side
Couldn't have asked for a better end.

The Empty Set. Its a little place in Auburn that's known for two things, live music and getting things under the table. The owner, an elf that wanted to get out of the cut throat (often literally) recording business and retire into the cut throat (only sometimes literally) bar business, rents out the back to a fence/black marketeer who claims to be an Atz/Am vet. You either come for the music and pick up some novacoke from 'out back' to party with a few girls afterwards or come to sell off a crate of neurostun grenades and stay for the music. Its a nice partnership.

Theres also Romano's over in Tacoma. Its a mafia front through and through but Mama Romano takes no shit from anyone whether they're made or not. It helps she's so old she's been the 'do not fuck with' figure of the neighbourhood since the current crop of mafiosi were just kids. But as long as you're respectful she's a kindly old woman.

You go there for the food and to watch a tiny grandma (no idea if she's a dwarf, never been crazy enough to ask) boss around the big bad wiseguys.

Man that was one moronic story

And finally, Amir's Kebabs. Amir is a turkish expat who runs a street cart that gives you that authentic kebab experience. Amir does not speak english, but he speaks every other language and can understand you even when you're slurring your words at 4am and willing to partake in the delicious delicacy of dog, rat and eastern european girls who werent very good at holding their breath drenched in garlic sauce.

The weird thing is at any given moment there are 5 seperate Amir's working in different parts of the sprawl, all of them identical. There is no difference between the Amir's kebabs, they're all disgusting.

There is an entire host dedicated to Amir sightings and conspiracy theories abound.

>Know, o son of England, that this is your birthright

REMOVE KEBAB

Yeah pretty much that. My character always goes to Amir after a run to wash the taste of blood out of his mouth with whatever the fuck meat it is and crab juice. Its a ritual for him.

If the kebab is eaten, it no longer exists.

Am I high or do modular cyberlimbs not have an Essence cost in Chummer for some reason? Seems like all of the rest of the stats are in there perfectly, except for that.

hello i'm new to shadowrun and i have some questions. i'm playing 4e

1. what the fuck is focus? i cant find an explanation for it in the book. i probably just missed it like a retard.

2. what determines the amount of spells i can know? are there level restrictions to spells?

3. I'm having difficulty understanding the difference between magic users. Magicians and Adepts are 2 different things but Magician get split into a Shaman and a Mage right? If so what is the difference between Shaman and Magicians besides role play fluff and how Drain is handled.

4. i may not be there in the book yet or skipped over it how is HP or i guess Boxes calculated? stats? race? mixture of both? something else?

If I'm wrong about anything (or everything) please correct me. i'm sure i'll be back with more questions latter.

I see someone has been reading Terry Practhett

CORRECTION:
What the fuck is FORCE not Focus.

There's a whole wave of you fucks. Is this just bait? Was there some kind of sale going on? Anyways.

1. A magical focus is a physical object an Awakened can use to add or support their magical abilities. For example, sustaining focus can sustain a spell for a mage so he doesn't take -2 penalties on everything. Foci are detailed on page 199 of the SR4 20th Anniversary core book.

2. The only limit for the number of spells you know is twice your Spellcasting skill at chargen. You can learn more than that once you start playing. (SR420 87)

3. Shamans = mages. This used to be a big difference before 4th edition, but are now mechanically the same. Being a "shaman" or "mage" is now a matter of practice; shamans focus on summoning spirits, while mages focus on spellcasting. Unless you are an Aspected Mage, there is nothing stopping you from doing both.

4. The number of boxes in your Physical Condition Monitor is based on BOD. Your Stun Condition Monitor is based on WIL. The formula in either case is 8 + (Attribute/2). (SR420 88)

Force is the general measure of magical power for most magical objects and entities. For example, a Force 4 sustaining focus can sustain a spell of Force 4 or lower. A Force 4 spirit uses its Force in place of any attributes for skill tests.

>wireless matrix
>No Cyber decks
Kill yourself and play a better edition

yes

IIRC they are a mod to an already existing Cyberlimb

Tonight, my runners learned the danger of starting a run loud.
Tomorrow, my runners will learn the value of down-time and leg-work.

Shadowrun is fun. What have your runners learned lately?

Is using cyberlimbs still shit or have they improved since release

>One run is about stealing actual coffee beans imported from Amazonia
As for this my runners have a couple of places in Boston they go that aren't corp generic.
A bar owned by their fixer who gets them in contact with people willing to pay for their services. Also an Italian restaurant in back corner nowhere that makes some of the only real food they've ever had. It's owned by a mob boss who had them do a job for him.

Is it possible to make a viable pistol adept that uses exclusively pistols?

>>running skimmers wireless
I turned wireless off, GM said you could still be hacked. Was he deadass wrong?

>>nonexplosive device exploading
>exploading
Exploding meaning start to smoke and malfunction. Exaggeration and all that.

>>doing wet job by just running directly at the target as loud as you can
Well, I was the distraction. But you're right. No regrets though.

>Man that was one moronic story
Thanks user!

>Was he wrong
Yes. He's an idiot.

Of course, why wouldn't it be?

2*Arm of God, Pistols 6, Improved Skill (Pistols) 3, two Ruger Warhawks with Custom Grip, IR 2

Adept, not 'wared.

alternatively, instead of 2*Arm of God:
Muscle Toner 3, Attribute Boost 1

>I turned wireless off, GM said you could still be hacked
Unless they were pulling some technomancer shenanigans, he was full of shit.

why not both?

This. Sacrificing a point of essence for ware is often a good buy. You dont even need to purchase it all straight away, just grab a smartlink, datajack and if you have the cash muscle toner/reflex recorder/synch (get synch, its fucking great) then pick up the rest when you have the cash.

In some example builds for infiltrators I've seen they put points in electronic warfare. The fuck will a thief use that for? I can see why computer would be needed but I cant get my head around this.

Click the Change Mounted Location button when you've got a modular limb attached, it'll add it to any appropriate modular connector you have equipped. The limbs themselves cannot be equipped without a connector.

Today, my runners learned the maxim of "Geeking the Mage First"

You can use electronic warfare to jam communications without bothering with the full hacking system.

>smuggling someone into Denver
So I've been thinking about a run involving smuggling an Aztech exec into Denver's UCAS sector, and I need a couple difficulties to spice it up a bit.
Maybe after all the Jonhson wants him caught by the ZDF to fuck with a UCAS official's reputation, and maybe our Aztech guy arranged a meet on his own with some shady types
I also considered making him wanted as fuck, forcing the runners to use a less legal way of getting in-this is Denver after all
Thoughts? Comments? Ideas?

Yes, Yekka, they actually can. That's explicit in the book that you can put connectors in your knees to get swappable lower legs.

Yeees?

Oh, I'm retarded. I thought you said they couldn't be done like that.

Why are elves so cheap in 5e? They have no downsides and are still cheaper than Orks or Dwarves.

Because they aren't actually cheap and you're retarded. They give almost no benefit unless you're a charisma whore, and they take a high priority slot. The only good race is human.

Someone at cgl is an immortal elf

Go back to cyberpunk 2020, you Gibson fag. Also learn how to read you nerfherder.

So, purely hypothetical, would it make sense to have my group either meet up with a Johnson in a fetish-centered brothel or maybe even use a room as safehouse for a while with the reasoning of:
"it's so discreet because everyone is too embarrassed to enter a brothel centered around paraphilias/they just assume all the weird stuff is part of some fetish"?

my thinking would be:
if the etablissement is made to fulfill a variety of fetishes, no one would either care or dare to ask about someone entering it with a bloodied knife. ya know, they'd think it's just a weird fetish.

They learned why it's a bad idea for it to become public knowledge that you do pro bono hits against Aztechnology. They also learned why it's a bad thing for a corporation to take slights personally.
Next session they learn how to make characters that aren't complete morons.

>emberassed
Ahahahahahaha
What kind of normie are you?
>going in with a bloodied knife
"Sir if you wanna keep our bitch cutting knife please pay the fee. No sir you can't just come in with your own bloodied knife."

>+3 Attribute points.
>Gains a 4 Karma quality (Low-Light vision).
>Qualifies for elf-only traditions and organizations.
>According to lore is more attractive and long-lived than anyone else, so they get preferential treatment in the most influential areas of society.
>"give almost no benefit".

Yeah, it looks like you don't know what you are talking about. Unless you only play murder-hobo one-shots, in which case well done for missing the point.

>3 attribute points, two of which are only useful if you're a face
>Gives an irrelevant quality because Contacts and Glasses exist
>According to the lore, there's also tons of elf racism, so...
>Gives almost no benefit? Yep.

How old would a late 20s elf look like? late teens/early 20s? younger? How the fuck does their aging process work?

>that point in AGI also raises the natural maximum, which is especially useful for getting an Arm of God or just getting a higher AGI
>the two points in CHA mean you don't have to put points into them, leaving you points for the other attributes
>no penalty on any Attribute
>the quality means that they can use this even if their gear doesn't work. AND they get it without it costing money and capacity
>Elf racism? "Oh yes, don't worry you beautiful flower. You don't have to worry about that dumb trog threatening you."
>compared to humans (just +1EDG) they get a lot of benefits

>Compared to humans, they cost a higher slot in priority, which locks you out of other options like skills, attributes, or not being homeless

The fuck do you call this art style? its neat

Rate my vaguely inspired by shadowrun character

Neat. Vayne/10 .

Jokes aside, who's the artist?

Also
>Hand of God
Good taste.

Bleah. I really need to start adding page reference comments into chummer code. Anyone able to cite RAW that Clothing items stack differently to Armour items? As is there's a bunch of weird shit going on where I iterate through the armour multiple times for different reasons in the same method and it's triggering me.
Supposedly they stop visibly aging in their mid-twenties, but I've always been a fan of the idea that elves are very susceptible to environmental influences on their body, so a drug-fucked homeless elf will look far older than one that's living in an upper-class condo.

xluxifer.tumblr.com/

I forgot to ask but do you guys see her possibly fitting into the shadowrun setting? I initially made her for that reason but I feel like I deviated a bit.

what is she supposed to be?

Vampire criminal person at first but then I though that, that would probably not fit in too well in shadowrun.

Aight, imma give you some mind blowing shit.

Anything works in Shadowrun. The game has a lot of options, so you can have characters that do nearly anything. I made a Wing Hussar that used pikes on the back of motorcycles. Many people make Cowboys. There was one poster that did a guy with what, 180 cyberdicks?

Your Vampire is fine.

>There was one poster that did a guy with what, 180 cyberdicks?
242 Cyberdicks and 90 Biodicks

Nah, vampires are pretty workable and actually pretty good as of the latest book. Technically they're people who've been mutated by a magical virus to force them to devour other people's Essence, but in all practical terms they're bog standard vampires.

Mechanically you'd be in a bit of trouble with the cyberlimb if you ever use mist form or get the Regeneration power, but there are ways to work around that.

I'm starting to read the rulebook and I have a question: how effective are drones at following your commands when run on autosoft ? Or simply following and protecting the owner without outside input ? Can you block any wifi signals and set them to voice command only to avoid hacking ? Picture related, I'm looking into the concept of a street sam flanked by a few of his combat drones.

>Charisma, somehow only useful for a face. Because any other archetype never finds itself in a situation when it needs to talk to someone.
>Getting Low-Light in glasses, contacts, or cybereyes, eats up a slot that could be better spent on another vision mod instead.
>'Tons of elf racism' only among the lower end of society, not among most people who are able to afford a decent suit.

Yeah, you just confirmed once again that you either don't know what you are talking about, or you only play murder-hobo campaigns. Well done.

GM fiat. Drones have to make a DR*2 test at a threshold set by the GM if they're given instructions that are confusing or novel to them. Broadly speaking, assume dog levels of intelligence, discuss with you GM beforehand whether you can preconfigure commands that they'd follow and make sure they have a REALLY good sensor array to prevent someone issuing them commands because they sound similar to you.

>how effective are drones at following your commands when run on autosoft ?
They have Pilot=DR and roll DRx2 when confused, with the Threshold set by the GM. I don't know however if they mean the (current Pilot)x2 or always DRx2

>Or simply following and protecting the owner without outside input ?
that should definitely be possible

>Can you block any wifi signals and set them to voice command only to avoid hacking ?
sure

>CyberPUNK setting
>Implying you don't regularly interact with mostly the lower rungs
>Low Light, one of the Quad-mod setup that everyone takes, Low-Light/Thermo/Smartlink/Image Link, with Vision Enhancement on Contacts
>Charisma, a stat that's only primarily used by the face, and thus not worth taking points on for others, because the system punishes you for spreading out

Thanks for the help anons. Have some cropped lewds in return.

Current Pilot*2, that's the point of getting better (and illegal) ones next to bigger dicepools.

link to full pic?

so how viable would a street sam be that doesn't have wired reflexes, but instead relies on auto-injectors and either cram or jazz?
I'm going to run into addiction immediately aren't I

>Which doesn't invalidate that anyone with actual money is unlikely to be an elf-hater. And if you never interact with people with money, enjoy having your street sams never upgrade their ware.
>Who said you don't interact with the lower rungs?
>Noticing that you left out the vital Flare Compensation, probably because you don't have enough slots. Thanks for proving me right once again.
>Again proving me right because since elf raises the racial minimum on Charisma you DON'T HAVE TO WASTE ATTRIBUTE POINTS ON RAISING IT.

Seriously, have you ever even played this game before?

thanks, omae

>Required to take Meta D, Atts A, Magic B, Skills C, and Nuyen D
>1+4+3+2+1=11
>This is doable in STT

>Gives one specific attribute array, implies that because the specific one he chose is invalid , somehow all metatype D arrays are invalid.
... are you for real?

>He's not an Adept

which you can be with Magic C

Apparently shifting goalposts? So now he is not arguing that elves are mechanically shit, it's specifically magic elves that are shit?
He's got to be havin a laff.
