Thread to talk about card games from the nation of card games.
Pick up an old box of Aquarian Age Claim that Ani-Mayhem is far superior to Weiss Schwarz (it's not) Give in to your lust for LRIGs Open us all up to obscure offerings from the East Auction off your Digital Colisseum collection Win a game of Vanguard Actively participate in cultured discussion You can also proclaim your love for Orange Peko, like I just did
>Bushiroad Super Special Strategy Presentation will be up in a few hours
Gee, I wonder what strange obscure show would appear in Weiss Schwarz this time around
Adam Wright
I'm tempted to look for places that offer Japanese single cards and build a couple Duel Masters decks - a God Link Nova deck and a Volg Thunder deck. Any suggestions where to look?
Mason Thompson
tcgrepublic.com/ sell Duel Master singles & Decks I have never used so no idea how good AmiAmi and Nippon Yassan also sell decks and boxes but no singles
Samuel Richardson
Oh, nice. They have a lot of the important cards, but they charge $3.13 minimum per single, even on commons, and don't have any of the precon that has Devo, Pearl Jam, Kraftwerk, and Nirvana, and only a couple sealed cards from the precon that has Lollapalooza and Summer Sonic.
Ryan Turner
You can use a Proxy Service called Buyee to buy from YuYuTei, which is a large online vendor for TCGs in Japan. I used Buyee to buy some OOP Vanguard sleeves from Yahoo! Auctions before, but I haven't tried buying cards from anyone yet
If I want to make an Ayu deck, how can I offset the early mana deceleration that the early Judgement and aggression would create? Flute's Water Dragon and Ayu's Medicine jump out at me but in a singleton deck that doesn't seem like enough.
Nicholas Reyes
>Even Yuyu-Tei is missing DMD-14 At least it has some of the stuff from DMD-12
Nicholas Morgan
I got a demo deck of TCC from this LGS I went to, it seems to be just the red deck twice though. Nonetheless I'm gonna read up on it and see how interesting it is, since it's a Mahou Shoujo Duel Masters. On another note, I hope that they have good prices for their buylist, because I need to buy that pre-release FoW kit. It's too good of a deal to pass up. >mfw I'm sinking back into the cardboard crack
Xavier Rogers
TCC looks like too much fun. I wish that it had regular events, but that would be too much to hope for. Any word on when the other set is being localized?
Jonathan Ross
There's no word on the next one being localized. Hopefully they have fine sales for the first expac. Maybe they're getting this and Architect in at wrong times, or missed the entry date for coming in.
Camden Baker
Ani-Mayhem is far superior. What even is Weiss Schwarz?
Kayden Garcia
For starting FoW, what's recommended to buy first?
Should I just get 2 or 3 starter decks? and try to get someone I already know to play with me?
Austin Gutierrez
That's a pretty good idea. If you really want to put stuff in to start, pick up one of each of the most recent starter decks, find people you know to get to play with, and build on whatever starter deck you like most.
Adrian Torres
That's my plan picking up a pair of starters And the Valkyria Chronicles set because I like the source material and it's less than 20 bucks
Daniel Gutierrez
Is it possible to construct a FoW deck from 72 boosters? I'm curious.
Michael Walker
What classic series should be next?
Evan Howard
tcgrepublic is not terrible for collecting a few rare cards, but trying to build a deck using their prices is a really bad idea. If you can into moon and forwarding services, yuyutei is really the gold standard.
As the OP of the previous thread, it triggers me that you didn't alphabetize your list.
Nathan Richardson
>look at Cardfight Vanguard cards for pretty much the first time today >Dragons >Gundams >waifus >HARD furry wew
Thomas Adams
Bushiroad games cover the pretty much everything you could want in a card game. Hell, there's an Asgard deck that lets you actually begin Ragnarok and crush your opponent.
Carson Gonzalez
WIXOSS needs support for Soui, the design is too cute to abandon to just Level 0s.
Liam Baker
>Ninja Dragon Mewtwo
Carson Sullivan
>G-BT14 announced >3 ZRs in the set (Gyze, US Zeroth Dragon Ultima, and DS Zeroth Dragon Dust) >Gyze Pack (Gyze + 6 "Secret Rares", which probably means the 6 Zeorth Dragons when the MC basically laughed at the implications)
Gee, I wonder how many cases do you need to crack to get one of those
Also new Minerva out of nowhere
Colton Moore
Just bought me a raidraptors deck and few other odds and ends for $7 MR4, handtraps and kaijus may have killed YGO but at least cool decks are dirt cheap
Ryan Bailey
>Force Strix is less than a dollar >Sold my pair off for $40 before Light's Revenge or MR4 Now's a good time to rebuy the deck, especially before the inevitable Blackwing Link.
Ryder Rodriguez
I wouldn't do that seeing as konami just fucked up what should have been the easiest way to stabilize the games sales in the tcg by making the Vrains pack cards secret rare ocg imports
Angel Russell
>Wait for this screwup to tank prices of lots of older cards in the TCG, due to a mixture of people leaving and things becoming obsolete >Stock up on fun decks at the cheap >If this kills the Yugioh, at least I have all the decks I enjoy >If this doesn't, and Konami pulls their collective heads out of their ass, then I have a bunch of cards that have a decent chance at respiking when the game resurges
Aaron Gray
Nice. I could never get into YGO myself but it has some interesting stuff, but the whole way the game plays disinterests me sadly.
Easton Diaz
Gunsmith Cats
Jacob Jones
TCC is great. Too bad its impossible to find players.
Tyler Murphy
>more promos that will never get ENG release
Henry Foster
What card game is that?
Michael Stewart
The Caster Chronicles.
Just buy off some secondary market in nippon.
Cooper Jones
I plan on it, but I want eng!
A good one
Landon Butler
Agreed.
Jonathan James
Haity also had a design that's too cute to go to waste.
Xavier Russell
They should have gone with these LRIGS instead of the bullshit males in LOSTORAGE. >not even /u/
Jaxson Foster
What is the gameplay like in TCC and WIXOSS? These cards only give the perception that they're waifu collection games instead of TCGs
Eli Sanders
TCC is like Duel Masters gameplay wise from what I experienced.
Asher Reyes
Wixoss is one of the best designed games I've played. It's something like Weiss, in that you have stock (ener), levels (represented by your LRIG), and 3 'lane' combat, but everything Weiss does wrong, Wixoss does right, along with a few innovations such as an extra deck, and one of the smoothest implementations of the Shield life system out there. All that doesn't really get at why it's great, though; once you've played some games with it, it's just one of the most cohesive card battle systems ever designed. A good measure of how good the basic gameplay rules of a card game are is how well it plays with mostly vanilla cards, and Wixoss is the only game I've played where even the most basic starter decks actually provide a deep and interesting game experience. As an added bonus, if you're in it for the waifus, there's a lot of really good looking cards to collect (and the cardstock used is really good as well), but as a game, completely separate from its art and physical elements, it's just excellent.
As for Casters, it's by the FoW people, and it continues their trend of 'mtg, but fixed' angle of game design. In this case, it has one of the best implementations of a mana system I've yet seen, and a few fun tweaks, such as adding attack and defense mode from yugioh (defense mode can't attack, and attack mode can't block), targeted attacks, and a Shield life system. It's mechanically competent, but its primary appeal is its aesthetic. It looks good and plays well, but feels a little too mechanically derivative to catch on outside of the niche of people who want a mahou shoujo battle game. Then again, I'd have said the same about FoW, and it's still puttering along.
Daniel Reyes
Wixoss sounds good. It's a shame that it's Japanese only
Cameron Gray
A picture of a Wixoss game in progress. It fits a lot of strategic depth into a pretty compact field of play.
Kevin Walker
I picture of a Casters game in progress. Like mtg, it tends to sprawl across the table as the game goes on.
Nathan Torres
Thank you for showing me all of this information and the fields. In return I give you a picture of a Buddyfight game. It's incredibly organized
Henry Allen
>Also new Minerva out of nowhere I'm glad I bought a playset of her just to be safe. I'm pretty excited for her. I'm pretty hyped for new Shiranui support too. I was thinking about selling my deck but I'm glad I kept it.
I hope the new anime will be good.
Jose Barnes
You, I like you. Are you ever in the /a/ threads? I miss monthly WIXOSS threads
Chase Morales
Nice. I definitely have a thing for organized play fields. How does Buddyfight play? I'm honestly intrigued, but I hate bushiroad's design practices too much to just dive in (seeing sideways oriented cards just reminds me of climaxes and paradoxes, both of which are feel tacked onto a game that was fine without them. Especially paradoxes, L&L feels like a solid game that they kept adding rules to well after the game was finished - level boost, paradoxes; the entire combat system is a clusterfuck).
Logan Baker
The gameplay is solid. I would say it's a lot like Yugioh without a backrow but still keeping useful spell and trap cards. The size limit and gauge(similar to stock) also makes it harder for the opponent to flood the field with monsters. All in all it's a very fast paced game but I have seen several longer games because there's a lot of ways to block attacks. Also the sideways cards are called impacts which are similar to climax cards but serve mostly as conditional finishers or strong monsters that can only be used at the very end of the turn. Unlike other Bushiroad games, luck plays a really low factor in the game since it doesn't fall into the trap of stuff like triggers or luck/level boosts.
Adam Cox
Gunsmith Cats.
Aiden Ortiz
Usually I'm at least lurking, but usually unless the tcg comes up I don't post much.
Spread was fine, Lostorage had a solid premise (but weak execution), male selectors are not a problem, and Hitoe is best girl.
Jaxon Nelson
That actually does sound really good. I may have to look at grabbing a trial deck or two. Stupid bushiroad. Every time I think I'm out, they pull me back in.
Jeremiah Thomas
Buddyfight sucks when it comes to making varied trial decks. If you want one I would recommend any the X trial decks. Of course I would also recommend just getting singles after reading up on the different archetypes. There's a ton of variety and themes
Brody Gray
this is the current candidate list
Chase Clark
I know bushi gets a load of flack, but look into how Dragoborne plays. Its one of the better designed games on market right now, even if its bushi and shares many properties with Duelmasters.
I liked Spread, couldn't even finish LOSTORAGE. Felt rushed, didnt like the execution or art direction, all the girls were too similar besides pic related look wise, everything just felt cheap in comparison. And I hated male selectors and the gender swap stuff.
Nathaniel James
>Dragon Rider Napoleon I need this in my life.
Lucas Morales
Do you think Wixoss really will never come overseas? Is it just too niche?
Ayden Sanders
lets see >Company that makes it has only release in ENG through WOTC >no way WOTC will ever release a anime-based game full of loli/milfs >bushi/FoW have their own japanese backed companies and own card games, they wouldnt deal with the licensing for another competitors game >no other ENG companies out there to compete/ bring it over/ no real reason to enter market >ENG dub of the anime was terrible and a total of 1 person watched it >the dub, even if it was good, would never have made it far in ENG due to content (twincest main plot) that normalfags dont like >cards are LEWD. Even if it was released, expect censoring out the wazoo- especially since most of the cards feature loli. >the games already multiple JPN sets in, and would take ENG player/release years to catch up unless they rushed through releases (which kills games)
Only option is for some rich/dedicated fuck to somehow obtain the rights/kickstart it as a box game of some kind. maybe one day I'll have enough money to do so
Bentley Garcia
>takara tomy Shit, I thought they'd have enough to self publish, but I guess if they did research beforehand and decided that the west wasn't worth the possible losses, that makes sense.
David Cruz
yeah, they also do BeyBlade. I wonder who handles the ENG side of that, since I think disney has the cartoon now.
Eli Flores
I don't understand these columns.
Nolan Johnson
Any good gameplay of FoW? Or is it all trash?
Landon Hernandez
TCC is Duel Masters with Magic lands if Magic was designed with no basic lands in mind. Oh, and defense mode a la YGO.
Parker Thomas
>no way WOTC will ever release a anime-based game full of loli/milfs I don't think I've seen a single milf yet. Guess no one wants to post them.
Also, I would second a cube format box for English release. Then you can make the variant 0s one-time event promos for maximum aftermarket boosting.
Gavin Harris
T-t-triple posting I just remembered that Code of Joker will never come west because Sega of Japan really hates us and is still buttmad over the Genesis selling better in the west.
Like, holy shit.
Jackson Stewart
>I dont think I've seen a single MILF yet >quotes a post showing a WIXOSS milf ???
Juan Howard
It's like magic with >A better mana system that rewards tactical decision making rather than luck or pants-on-head autogrowth >Somewhat better color pie balance >A much lower price bar to entry, at least right now
Take from that what you will.
Cameron Sanders
inb4 he pulls a Schreier
Jayden Taylor
I meant more gameplay videos, should have clarified that. I like the way it plays since it interests me.
Tyler Davis
Still looked kinda young to be milfy, cockroach hair is throwing me off. That one you just posted looks way better.
Ryder Nguyen
That depends on your luck, but it is likely. You should have enough cards, it is just that it would be less than optimal.
Ethan Morris
I would buy into Wixoss if the cards were in English. It is kind of a shame that they won't at least release it as a LCG or something limited.
Carson Howard
Fuck, we should pitch it to Kamikaze Games as a board, they might pick up that shit.
Sure, it'll take three years to print the first box but at least we'll get it in bonafide English.
Ian Nelson
This is the problem with getting my friends into it. They'd love it gameplay wise, but it's a little weeb for some, and having to read crappy English inserts or remember cards kills it for the others. That and the import costs. It's been months since I played a game for this reason. That's, and I haven't been on Webxoss for a while.
>Pick up an old box of Aquarian Age I still have all my Aquarians Age cards. Played a little with a few friends but never got into many games. Now I use them with some Wixoss spares as MtG tokens. >Of course this little girl is a soldier. She has a sword, doesn't she?
Carter Cook
Its got quadrupal D tits my man. Pic related is literally named mama.
Zachary Hill
Where is her other breast?
Carson Peterson
Anime tits are not a good indication of age friendo. I might be in a hard 16 state, but that don't mean anyone over is a mama.
Matthew Morris
Bought a Force of Will deck last week. Shit, this card quality is so fucking high I'm more inclined to fap to that than the fanservice artworks.
Jeremiah Jones
Behind her arm. Perspective.
True. But by MILF I mostly meant 'not loli'. WIXOSS has a body type for everyone.
James James
masectomy is radical, but highly effective treatment for breast cancer
Kayden Powell
This character is literally a mama named mama.
Gavin James
I know right breh? It feels good in the hands, along with shuffling them. Why even sleeve them? That's what I feel about it, but if the community gets bigger/restarts here I'll sleeve em.
Jace Mitchell
I know that VGO is dead, but is there anywhere online as a recourse for playing Vanguard?
Anywhere decent to get some Force of Will?
Hunter White
FoE card backs are the best ones since Spoils. That texture.
Ryan Jones
There's Cardfight Area, the brother to Buddyfight Area. Both are manual sims like the dueling network
Zachary Hall
Online stores, if you mean FoW online then lackeyccg
Bentley Perez
The best prices for sealed FoW products I have seen are on Gamenerdz. For singles look at Troll&Toad and TCGPlayer.
Matthew Hernandez
Where are you guys getting that he's asking about buying shit when the post says VGO? wew lads
Michael Watson
You need to read the whole post.
Justin Cooper
There's probably two possibilities:
- Another Regalia Stride Bearer that'll be better than the one in G-BT08 - A generic restanding G-Unit
The second line of the post?
Adrian Turner
>first line asks about playing games >second line says "get some" implying games not buying products
Are you guys just really eager marketing dudes or what?
Alexander Myers
I've been liking DM073's feature matches on youtube, and there are a LOT of them to watch. Best to have db.fowtcg.us/index.php up so you can reference cards though.
Ian Powell
His question is vague enough to make it sound like he wants to know where to buy product. It's not specific enough to mean places to play. I know you're eager to shitpost, but come on.
Dylan Walker
I'm hoping for something that lets me use Minerva desu. Something along the lines of ''put this g-unit back to your extra deck and ride a regalia card from your hand'' We have seen a few of those recently.
Connor White
The thing that annoys me the most about that guy is those stupid gloves. Him and another FoW YTer seem like big chuunis, it's pretty annoying.
David Cooper
They are damn stupid gloves.
Gavin Rogers
I get that, and it's merciful that he's not a player in all his games, but I'm more concerned that he's got a voice that isn't nails on a chalkboard, explains plays and misplays in an adequate manner (even if it's sometimes quite obvious he's doing his commentary first take), and his videos don't look like they were shot and edited by a fucking monkey. It's a very basic set of requirements but you'd be surprised how many YTers fail.
Christian Johnson
That is true, it's just the gloves that are a pet peeve with me. I'll watch some more then, hopefully there's some recent games on there.
Aiden Martinez
>cards are LEWD this is the biggest reason I don't really see WIXOSS ever being translated over (image isn't an example I just like Ril)
Lincoln Watson
list of cards i'm thinking of buying rn for Dimensional Robos, currently costing 169.64 USD, lot of corners cut
