Yeah I have 80% of my portfolio in alts but like to keep 20% in BTC or ETH for safety. Usually BTC but I honestly feel ETH is safer at the moment.

There are coins out there that look extremely promising, so the risk is a lot lower (SKYcoin/DBC) also KCS is a pretty solid hold since it's from a relatively new exchange.

At full proof of stake (late 2018), a full node will cost 32 ETH and will be profitable.
You will be able to pool contracts both in partial and full proof of stake (no need to have enough to run full node).
