I kinda like the Alexanders from the new Code Geass. They can switch between scuttling around like bugs and moving like a normal mech (Albeit a very, very high dexterity one) on the fly. The ability to go fast with the lowest possible profile and completely bypass all obstacles (Including scaling sheer walls at the same speed as ground travel) seems like exactly what a mech needs.
