Should read the story of Shuten-doji, one of the best stories about Oni.

>Shuten-doji
Oh that's interesting
>One story is that he was the son of a blacksmith in Echigo, that he was in his mother’s womb for 16 months, and that he had teeth and hair when he was born, was immediately able to walk, was able to talk on the level of a 5-6 year old, had the wisdom and physical strength of a 16-year-old, and had a rough temperament, and due to this unusually ready wit, was shunned as an “oni child.”
>According to Zentaiheiki, afterwards, when he was 6 years of age, he was abandoned by his mother, wandered from place to place, and then walked the path towards being an oni.
>There is also a legend that since he was scorned as an oni child, he was put into custody of a temple, but the chief priest of that temple was a user of unorthodox practices, and the child became an oni through learning those unorthodox practices, that he exhausted the limits of evil.

So a Barbarian-Lich!

Oni in Japanese folklore are far more neutral than Ogres though.

Oni can even be benevolent. Ogres are straight up cunts.

What the fuck are ogres even in traditional European folklore? Do they even actually exist? They're Shrek and DnD monsters.

...nu/tg/pol/ doesn't read much anymore.

Their like a central Euro version of trolls. So like mostly French, and a little bit Germanic.
And Trolls are a watered down folklore version of Giants.

Did you back rising sun? I can wait for the oni and other lesser produced weeb miniatures.

>muh/ pol/
Name me one folktale with an ogre.

King Arthur fighting the giant of Mont St. Michel is probably the closest to an "ogre". It's a big, brutish man-eater.

holy shit dude, read a book

This thread could really use some best oni

Moon(language) Elf. Duh

It's all suddenly coming back to me how bad someone needed to murder that damn priest.

You're not wrong

Seriously. Even for a Rumiko Takahashi manga, it's amazing how one single character could be responsible for so many things in the entire series going wrong, or getting worse than they need to be.

God, and just when you think porn artists can't get any creepier than
>shadman
they go and pull this bullshit.

>Opening with an on topic pic and posting the fapbait immediately after to hide from mods
Clever girl

I thought asanagi was a woman though
I don't think it's really any creepier than a death threat

That's baseless speculation / wishful thinking.
We don't have any clear evidence either way and sheer statistical probability points to "most likely a man".

based asanagi

Give me some more lore for them

How would I include them in a modern fantasy Los Angeles?

Do you think they can handle zero-g well?

If I did wacky races with one as a driver, what would their car be like?

The hilarious thing is it's couple weeks before next Comiket - this might not be the last time we see this particular character.

Tag female:oni on sadpanda obviously.

Puss in boots.

I'm under the general impression that ye olde England and France especially, suffered under the threat of Ogres in their folklore. Ogres were always fat, occasionally had quite impressive beards, were typically maybe 8-10ft tall, and were well known as being unsympathetic, gluttonous, cannibals. Things get more personal from here, though, because Ogres were often times pretty affluent, well dressed, and typically had power, status, some were even accomplished wizards into their own right, so heroes and princesses often had to carry their favor or even marry them for political purposes n' so forth.

In a nutshell, really, Ogres are constantly measuring the pros and cons of either cooking & eating humans (because humans are delicious to them) or seeing how they can extort a person for favors, labor, etc.. As Ogres are always looking to monopolize and expand their wealth, resources, without doing any of the actual work for it.

>Puss in Boots
>Little Thumb

That's the only two I can think of.

You mean Tom Thumb?

No, I mean Little Thumb.

Implying OPs pic isn't fap bait either.

Fair enough, just googled it. Different story. And I suppose everyone would be giants to Tom Thumb anyway.

Bluebeard is often classified as an Ogre.
Baba Yaga is classified as an Ogress in addition to being a Witch and a Hag.

Oni in my setting are kinda weird. First of they are of Elemental ascendance, being litteraly elemental who decided to take mortal shape because they wanted to live permanently on the mortal realm (or something like that).

They are also shapeshifter, able to modify their size and look drasticly, albeit with some limit.

Also they are fucking big, like gigantic, they can change from a minial size around ~2.20 M to a maximun of ~4.20 M. There is things in them they can't change, like their horns, who spourt out of their front, only being able to hide them - and they don't like to do it.

Their horns come out of their front and are aproximatively one hand and a half long, black for the main part with the tip being of their element color. Despite being a weird mix of all "pure" elemental, Oni have a "Dominant" element in them, who give them the color of their horns and the one they can give to their skin. Water = Deep blue, Fire=flashy red,Air=Grey Blue Earth= red dirt. They also have the ability to go in tune with their elemental being, growing above their normal maximun size and manifesting the elements they are attuned with in fairly classical way, giving them a boost, but also destroying any control they have over their shape during this phase and in general lack self-control in this elemental form.

Despite being able to shapeshift, they do have a "true form" being basicly how they look like when they don't make any conscious effort. In general, they are too large of shoulder and too musculated to even pass for human, they also have less sexual dimorphism in this matter.

They are really tough and strong, and have a unique link with the elements allowing them to be very good elementalist/shaman/whatever you call it. On the other hands, they can't into divine shit, and Gods in general despise/outright hate them for being elemental.

...

There isn't much lore on oni like there's on more popular creatures like tanuki, and when they are in a story, they mostly just act like a bland antagonist.
