Current mood is all smiles.

Sup guys.

What's everyone painting or molding today?

Making it for play or as a display piece?

Favorite army and color schemes to paint?

Madman here posting so user from last thread can see my questions.

Also anyone got any ideas for cool functional scenery for a blood bowl stadium? I'm gonna take hands out of a clock to make a turn/reroll counter, and stick a fireplace in that doubles as a dice tower.

Painting my dudes.
For play and working on soon.
Favorite army and scheme is my dudes. Followed by Death Guard because their new models are awesome and lots of fun.

>TFW you're broke till this evening so you haven't sent out your secret santa out yet.

I'm hoping to get it out tonight. I really hope life stops preventing me from sending it out.

My fucking roommate all the candy from my secret santa box before I could take pictures

Your roommate sounds like a cunt

Lego in his shoes for a year.

cut him open and get it back!

Unless you're /really/ good friends with your roommate that sounds like a complete dick move

>Also anyone got any ideas for cool functional scenery for a blood bowl stadium?

A couple of little elf beauties selling Big Moot sandwiches in the stands?

>Hey! I'm off to get one... be back in five minutes!
>Oh, so now you *like* Big Moot sandwiches?
>What? No way! A little elf beauty, yeah!

confront him?

holy shit I keked and read it in his voice

you bet user, I'm throwing those two bastards right behind the bar endzone.

see you in the news

>you bet user, I'm throwing those two bastards right behind the bar endzone.

*FINALLY!* There's one who lets his biceps do the talking!
Yeah, but from his opponent's point of view, it was a short conversation.

Oh hey, a parcel from user Anonson!

Jesus fucking Christ! About ready to get the chainsaw.

Thanks dude! A box of Reavers, a bag of really awesome bits and some sweets.
Text says: Merry Christmas! I'm always glad to see Dark Eldar on /wip/, so I got you a box of my favourite models.

Thanks again, dude and have a Merry Christmas yourself!

>find a johnny on ebay for super cheap
>get ready to hit "buy now"
>this listing has ended
>someone bought it seconds before me

I'm almost convinced that half of the Johnnies on ebay are recasts

>I'm almost convinced that half of the Johnnies on ebay are recasts

I suspect it's less than that. Of the last four I've come across, only one was a recast. Still, my evidence is purely anecdotal and the sample size is pretty small.

where can I get a Johnny recast? I am not concerned about the legitimacy of it and would rather pay for a known fake than a """""real""""" one. the usual yoy casters dont seem to do rogue trader marines

Any way to tell? I've bought two off ebay and I couldn't tell if they were legit or not. Not that I really care if they are though though, in fact I'd be happier if they were recasts since I clipped the slotta-base slots off them and I still feel bad about it.

Introduce him to your favorite game "hide the turd."
>the rules are quite simple
>he wins when he finds the turd you hide, then you hide a new one
>the winning move that didnt get notice for a month was scooping all the butter/margarine out of the tub, inserting the turd and putting the butter/margarine back in

I'd imagine the backpack could be a clue. You'd not only have to recast him, but either harvest RT era backpacks from somewhere or cast them in resin.

To the user whose name rhymes with wereDig grayVies, i sent your gift today, probably gonna ship tomorrow or Wednesday so expect it to arrive next week!

Oh, well, not worries there. I had to buy both of my backpacks in separate auctions.

Cool shit.
What's in the bitz?
I see a Tau chaingun thing, and an Ork choppa arm... Are the yellow bits 90s boxgame bits?

>cheap
how much?

>where can I get a Johnny recast?

Reliably? I really couldn't tell ya. Only a couple of mine have turned out any good, and to add insult to injury, the mold tore.

>Any way to tell? I've bought two off ebay and I couldn't tell if they were legit or not.

If they're good, it's really hard to tell. Legitimately, though, all the Johnnies should have been cast before the Dark Age of Technology, so they'll be made of lead alloy instead of Citadel's lead-free pewter - what they called "White Metal". The lead alloy is generally darker and softer, but that doesn't mean you should go nicking up any Johnnies you find with your tools to see how hard the metal is.

I know for sure that three of ones I saw recently were genuine because they all came from really old collections in the UK and Europe. It's like digging up a fossil in a box of other old fossils - they're all probably about the same age!

Someone named their child Dick Rabies?

12 USD

i mean, would you mess with someone called Dick Rabies?

I hope you get something from Dick Rabies

A bit of everything and I can see a use for a lot of it already.

hopefully rabies on my dick

painting stuff for SWA homebrew shit. I like painting guard with my 3rd ed rulebook for inspiration.

Yeah that's (You) user. Thursday on Priority Mail. Hope it makes you!

That's wicked - loads of cool shit in there.

>imgur.com/a/qS7PH
Jesus christ some of you cunts are going hard in the paint on this.
I'd be thrilled for even half on most of these care packages to arrive in the mail.

Finishing my DG Rhino. Very happy with the Flash Gitz yellow as my final highlight. Will paint the rest of my DG like this going forward.

Just finished 3 characters for DH2 starting from some cultists, with Space Marines and Guards pieces.

When I get home I'm gonna work some more on pic related. Wanted to take a break from my chads with some Dust Warfare.

user please do something about the hole in the roof.

Don't worry. That's where the havoc launcher will go.

Sent yours out today Fort Collins user!

I'm going to make a start on building pic related.
Unfortunately it's about two degrees celsius in my flat, because council housing storage space heating can fuck a cunt.
Hopefully my hands don't shake and snap the flimy little prick it all to shit.

I'm thinking I will assemble, spray black, and then for the bike drybrush the metal silver and then bronze/gold, then paint the wood red then two thin coats (TM) of dark brown, then pick out the details in silver or bronze/gold as appropriate.
For the lady and coat, the crew I want her to fit with lean heavily on deep purples and a range of greens, so probably a purple overcoat and other colours to be decided.

Any advice?
In particular, does the plan for the bike sound raisinable, given how spindly and fiddly it will all be post-assembly?
Cheers.

So this is my first army, how did I do? (Painting to come later, since I have no primer)

Anyone know where I can get chaos marauder legs or something close to them? Only eBay sellers are from Germany

Might wanna take the glass off the walker before priming.

wow. one doesn't see DUST around here very often.

Okay I packed my Secret Santa Box. will be ship it tomorrow. nothing fancy but I hope my fa/tg/uy will have fun with it.

The weekend is over and the monday mail should be delivered. Has M.G. from stockholm who enjoys exotic fish and studied dinosaurs gotten his gift yet or should i give postnord a call?

decals applied. I think it's done. or did I miss something?

I have the entire axis line sitting here in boxes, slowly making my way through them. I dig the models, just no one to play with.

mouldlines or what ever is on that shield and left leg

After a month of not doing anything I started work on a body for what I would claim as a warpsmith, should I ever play a game. It is supposed to go with an axe head I posted back then, check the instagram if you care. For now it's just the kitbash with a little bit of sculpting done, which looks a lot worse zoomed in this far. I originally wanted to go with four arms, but I'm not sure if the body will support it. Right side should hold the axe, left has the gauntlet from Imotekh. If I go for four arms, both on the right would hold the axe and the other left one a sword flamer combo. At least that was what I originally planned. I always remember the size of bits to be more convenient for my plans than they are.

that's too bad. I like the game but also have to travel far if I don't want to play against the only other player in town constantly.

fuck me. too late for that.

How would you guys go about painting tie-dye onto a miniature? That shit sound annoying as hell.

Hey /wip/! My first dark eldar model; a haemonculus. I'm looking for some feedback since it definitely is not the best. What I know so far is that I need to touch up the syringe area, the gun and robe, and finish his face.

I messed up trying to do his eyes hence the fucked face but I think I can get it when I'm back from work. Also looking for suggestions for the tentacle, I ordered some violets so that is what I was planning on.

He is definitely not done btw, need some more layers on the skin, armor and to finish the base.

Forgot pics

I can only think hellishly slow freehand, or concentric blocks of very thin high-pigment paints (to stop it developing 'mound' of paint).
For painting a whole tie-dye shirt though, I think you're looking at a laborious job.;

...

The yellow bit is a Space Marine captains bolt-pistol and power axe from the Space Crusade board game... Yellow because you had Smurfs, BAngles and Imp Fists for the marine players in that game.

>concentric blocks of very thin high-pigment paints

Do you think Vallejo game color could work for that? Or should I just tell my buddy who is asking to go fuck himself?

Looks good friend, keep us updated.

Airbrush, take a look at some of the brighter Eldar models around on Cool Mini or Not.

BUmp?

>Space Marine Captain
>Space Crusade board game

Shown here, fourth from the left, but with the "all melee, no shooting" power-fist-and-power-sword loadout.

I only have a handful of Space Crusade models that I got second-hand (it's immensely hard to get here in the US), and the one bolt-pistol-and-power-axe bit I had was broken.

Did a warrior today, I think I cracked how to do the hive fleet Tiamet scheme first try.

>don't talk to me, my wife, and several of my sons ever again

nurgle daemon prince im working on for my DG army

...

...

Should've stripped before you sculpted.

Maybe get recast sets, will be cheaper I guess

Is it obvious I only have a vague idea what I'm doing?

>THIN
>YOUR
>WASHES

First attempt at a glow effect, what do y'all think?

damn nice wolves, might wanna lessen the effect of two front dudes and make em look more like back left guy

I dig it. Although I think the white bleeds a little too much onto the weapon. The brightest highlights should be reserved for the epicenter of the glow.

thanks, I'll go back and try and fix up the glow a little more

Well... let me know if you need any spare parts... I've had two or three part-sets to get a complete one. Almost all caked in paint from previous owners though.

Currently working on an updated set using Prospero marines and Forgeworld heavy weapons.

I wonder if anyone has painted the plasma coils like a dB meter, going from green to red. Like indicating the heat buildup.

Put my Assault Marines on bases, they only miss their shoulderpads and some paint on the purity seals. Too bad they're hot garbage in the actual game. I like spehss knights jumping around, hitting guys with chainswords.

Also working on a Captain for my dudes. But I need some other models to work on while waiting for washes to dry, so...Vanguard Veterans with Lightning Claws or Terminators with Claws?

I did with the custom built plasma rifle my IW specialist runs around with in a SWA warband, but the gun is kitbashed so the meter is on an auspex screen.

I do mine like heat coils, green plasma always annoyed me and the only thing that should ever be blue is the discharge as it indicates a temperature of 15-30k.

Space wolves cause I'm hoping Russ comes back :^)

Put those fucking pauldrons on Justin, space marines don't look like space marines without them.
Assault Terminators

They'll get their pauldrons, don't worry. I'll prepare them before I go to sleep, so I can finish them tomorrow.

Okay so here's a before and after set. This is my Bret Battle standard bear before a strong tone wash. I want to see if I should have done a dark tone wash instead... Here's the before wash image..

Isn't hydrogen plasma pink?

Yeah, still.. if the fucking cooling coila are 15000 degrees, it's not just the marines carrying it that's that's getting mortal wound.
it's twice the surface temp of the damn sun.

And here's the post strong tone wash. Any thoughts? For a model this bright, would a "dark" tone wash have been better? Is there a guide or a rules atleast for what wash shades to use for what colors and "Material" (rather it be chainmail, or cloth, or skin, or etc..)

different angle post wash

>still no sign of user getting package

I'm freaking out, man.

Hey IL user, the package got here, and I've had the worst day possible. Coming home to this seriously made my week, and I can't thank you enough, I'm sending mine out tomorrow.

-Thanks again, totally throwing the Nurgle drawing in a picture frame
