Your dudes

A thread to show off/discuss/get inspiration for all your homebrew tabletop armies, be it in the far future, in the distant past or anything in between.

I'll dump some stuff i've been working on in next post to kick this thread off the ground

Brothers of the 15th Circle

A curious mix of Tzeenchian and Slaaneshii chaos marines. They compensate for their few numbers by bolstering their forces with daemons. The sorcerers chants blasphemous daemon names and invoking the name of the First Warmaster to the backing of sonic blasters and blastmasters, making sure their enemies can hear and understand that their doom is approaching.

The 15th Circle is the leading organ of the warband and consists of 9 Listeners and 6 Speakers. The Listeners take on the roles of advisors, seers and adjudicators of minor decisions. The Speakers are the most senior three tzeentchian and three slaaneshii members and are the de-facto leaders and political power of the warband.

>Structure: Legion Warband with secondary legion units
>Progenitor: Thousand Sons/Emperor's Children

>Devotion: Fanatic
>Worship: Tzeentch & Slaanesh
>Beliefs: Hail Horus, the first Warmaster

>Demeanor: Honour Amongst Thieves

Inspired by this song, kinda how i envision their summoning rituals sound: youtube.com/watch?v=gqlNY5iX-nA

I've been wanting to make an Alpha Legion force for Horus Heresy with the indigo/silver/neon green scheme they have in old artwork. The plus side would be they would also work for a 40k chaos space marine army that just happens to have very low corruption

Fluffing your army is stupid. Get your painting done and play the game

You're lame.

But that's part of the hobby user

Gay

I had this idea for a Only War regiment

Triumph 66th Lancers “The Matchless”
They are Motorcycle-borne heavy lancers that specialize in killing armour and breaking through siege lines. Melta-tipped hunting lances make short work of enemy armour and power-fielded cavalry sabers bring swift death to surviving crewmen.

They have sworn a blood-oath to serve the machine cult after the adeptus mechanicus halted the seismic cataclysm that almost cracked Triumph in half, and brought aid and shelter to the few survivors.

Their Züral-pattern combat bikes are modified from the heavy-duty all-terrain motorcycles the survivors of Triumph use to traverse the long stretches of broken highway and obsidian deserts left after the cataclysm.

Modelling, painting, playing is.

Fluff is idiotic and pointless.

That's just like, your opinion, man.

To each their own.

Order of the Furious Rose.
A mixed bag of Bloody Rose and Argent Shroud. Resulting in crazy nuns that want to get close and personal but have a soft spot for civilians.

Also their Canoness won a tarot game against the Magos that supply the armour for their Order.
The salty bastard now gives them bulkier armour out of spite.
Resulting in awkward visit from the Inquistion regarding “men at arms”
After closer inspection they found very annoyed and angry nuns.
As such it is common practice among the ranks of the Furious to show off their “feminine” side a lot more than to prevent this Inquistion visits.

TL:DR kitbash galore SoB with stupid amounts of naked women and tumblr hair.

Sacred Sentinels.

Size: Small
Status: normal strength, forces concentrated in a small sector
Progenitor: Imperial Fists, 6th Founding
Homeworld: Catradus, feudal forest world
Fighting Style: phalanx, slow advance via shields, heavily reliant on melee weapons
Special equipment: Riot shields
Devotion: Reasonable (deemed questionable by the Inquisition)
Emblem: Templar cross inside a rook chesspiece
Treatment of civilians: safety prioritized, will evacuate them when possible
Aesthetics: inspired by medieval Europe, favor large castles and fortresses
Directive: Backup in attrition wars, sieges, pacifying rebellions.
Nemesis: Lords of Rust, chaos warband

If anyone can think of any questions, I'd be glad to answer.

Wanna make my own craftworld dudes. Any pointers?

Why are they ugly as shit.

The Poor Brothers
Status: Over strength
Founded from: Persecutors of Darkness, 23rd Founding
Homeworld: Carnis, recently reintegrated civilized world, tech level similar to Earth and has a political system built on super-national Bloc's.
Doctrine: Guerrilla support for occupied planets, Recon Specialists, Intelligence gathering, and working closely with allied Imperial Forces.
Codex Deviation: Absolutely. 1st-2nd Are Death and Ravenwing, 3-8 are battle companies intended to work independently, 9th is a fully armored company, and 10th is a semi-veteran Recon Company which recruits from the other 9 and provides a specialist squad to each company pic related to come in separate post.
Devotion: More philosophical than devotional.
Do they bro it up with the Guard, PDF, and Sororitas?: Bet yer ass they do.
Why are they so cool?: No indoc phase, they retain a lot of what makes them humans. Sometimes a hindrance, but it helps in ways too.
What are the weirdo's even for?: Unforgiven PR department. Bro it up so people stop suspecting the Dark Angels of shit.

>tfw my dudes are just Iron Hands

Heh, read Lexicanum I guess.

Anyone mind if I dump some Sector lore me and my friends have got?

YOU'RE idiotic and pointless.

go for it.

I'm trying to see if I can pull together enough of my ideas for my sisters army to make it cohesive

Have pretty barebones fluff for my guys, gives me room to flesh things out if I feel like it at some point.

I'm sure I saw you posting in /wip/.

I question blue wax, but otherwise looks good.

Chapter Painter pic because I don't have a painted set yet with the revised scheme.

The Lions Militant

Primogenitor: Lion El'Jonson

Status: Under-strength

Founding: Unknown, but most of the Administratum is completely unaware of it's existence.

Homeworld: Fathom's Reach, a Hive World in a self-sufficient system to the far galactic south. Hive cities cover most, but not all of it's surface, with tundra wilderness and the occasional mining work camp.

Doctrine: Extensive use of fast assault with Ravenwing units. Infantry is almost exclusively relegated to heavy weapons use, with Tactical roles filled by Company Veterans. Deathwing is largely off-world, devoted entirely to the Long Hunt. Few Terminators remain.

Fun Facts: Close ties with the Deathwatch, turns out they founded on a fringe Tomb World, so even after most of the tombs were destroyed, some remain unfound. Between rare necron raids, and a tendril of Hive Fleet Hydra, they excel at killing Xenos. But the constant battle leaves them constantly under-strength, even with a Hive World to recruit from. They have made contact with a Freeblade band of Knights, and a Harlequin Troupe, and secured aid from both against the Xenos. Though trust is thin and threadbare. Most of the chapter's leadership are veterans of the Deathwatch, and many carry a piece of their wargear given by the Watch, as a sign of prowess. Loyalties in the chapter are complex and fluid. Many Marines are still tied to their House in Hive high-society, or gangs. And many more are also members of the various secret societies within the chapter's hierarchy.

Did you use a base for that image or did you make the line art yourself?

Kinda hoping there's a painter program like B&C but I think that might not be happening.

3rd Company of Dark Angels with 1st and 2nd Support elements. The idea is that since there's never Chaos players around here, they act more like King Arthur's knights on a quest from God to find the holy grail. Something harking back to the original knight orders of Caliban

24th Grand Company

A warband comprised of plenty of World Eaters attempting to recreate the 'good old' days by re-introducing pre-heresy organization and tactics into the Legion again. While not poorly off numerically to begin with, the warband now manages to have at least 100 astartes combat-ready at all times with some Iron Warriors joining the warband.

The 24th grand company is 'supposed' to be well organized, and everyone is reasonably well-organized outside of battle. Just when battle starts, the Berzerkers start abandoning all sense of strategy much to the frustration of the relatively sane members of the warband.

The warband's commander is known as "Lord Bane" who was apparently a Captain back in the good ol' days of the Horus Heresy. Occasionally, the Warband's authority might be deferred to a Daemon Prince that is summoned or Kharn who occasionally stops around to kill some random person before leaving to do Kharn things.

Hive Fleet Cavea is a small splinter fleet off of Behemoth.

The fleet has lost contact with the main fleet for several centuries but has somehow evolved in parallel with the main body. They carry with them a divergent copy of the Swarmlord conscience and has spawned their lord more frequently than others.

Because of their small size, they favor tight spearhead insertions, with most of their biomass spent on spawning elite specialist creatures led by their Swarmlord rather than huge swarms of expendable troops.

Hive Fleet Cavea is not strong enough to conquer large populated planets yet, instead preferring to focus on small colonies and lone communication relays on the edge of imperium territory. Their goal is togather enough strength to link back up to the main fleet and offload their Swarmlord Intelligence back into the collective hive mind.

Autist who cant handle people doing things their own way detected.

Alright then, so it goes without saying a lot of this stuff is pretty rough draft, but I'll try to supply all I can.

Located in the Tempestus, The Jormungandr Sector is a collection of star systems that bear relative proximity to one another, along with stable warp lanes. Home to a variety of differing peoples and worlds, the Sector has seen much strife in recent centuries, and indeed, been the object of focus for some dark forces in millennia past. Home to worlds such as Ghena, and it's Aurumic Palace, Varsovia and it's mighty Knights, The Forges of Oblysk, and other pillars of Imperial Civilization, it is the backdrop of war found in all corners of The Imperium.

Within it's expanse, are various Imperial Factions, all working towards the same goal of preservation of Humanity's Domain. Some of the more notable ones include.

-The Penitent Scions
-The Laconic Shields

Number: Approximately 1000
Primarch: Roboute Guiliman
Chapter Master: Aruum Satorius
Homeworld: Ghena
Home System: The Jormungandr Sector
Allegiance: Imperium of Man
Colours: Gold Primary, Bronze Trim

Synopsis: Hailing from the Feudal World of Ghena are the Knights of Midas, an old chapter with deep roots to the sector. From their fortress capital, The Aurumic Palace, a city spanning structure predating the chapter's arrival to the world, they govern their world and see to the safety of their neighboring stars. Said to have been formed due to an ancient threat that lay dormant on their sister world, Dredden, the chapter has spent the past ten thousand years the head of every conflict in their domain. Focusing on a style of warfare suited towards ranged combat, The Knights of Midas go forth into battle with weaponry and equipment stylized with the vast gold of their homeworld.

Notable Battles:
-Battle of Betcharon: During The War of The Beast, The Knights of Midas would be hard pressed to face the oncoming tide of the resurgent Greenskin threat. Making a stand at Betcharon II, The astartes stood shoulder to shoulder with their allies in The Amethyst Sentinal chapter. With arrival of Warboss Hel-Skorcha and his Space Hulk, GitzBurna, the planet of Betcharon is ravaged with high intensity orbital firestorm bombardments, leading to the destruction of The Amethyst Sentinals. A daring raid to destroy GitBurna is developed, and Midas II leads a cohort of 364 brothers, including a sizable portion of the 1st company veterans, with support from a collection of regiments of Guardsmen dubbed Ares Marauders. The battle is fierce, costly, and hellish, but eventually the Astartes manage to rupture the WAAAGH! Gate within, leading to a halt to the reinforcements, and refueling for it's massive skorchacannons.

Usually I would call you a jaded fuck, but I have to agree on some level. I used to really love fluffing my own army, coming up with names for sergeants and captains, defining their history, the whole deal.

But no one you play with ever gives a fuck. At most they'll as you what chapter/legion/regiment whatever you're playing. Coming up with 'your dudes' is probably the least rewarding thing in the long run. Existing GW armies already have models and characters with decades of lore, and have already snagged all of the best colour schemes to boot.

You can do stupid shit all you want.

It's still fucking stupid.

it also doesn't help that lore is fucking awful. The game is stupidly long as is even with transition into 8th and I'm not listening to your snowflake bullshit. I don't care if it's a special sword or not. Is it a fucking relic or not? Only chapters worth knowing about are founding ones so I know what rules I need to watch for.

It's completely pointless. If the fluff isn't the motivation behind a great modelling work, it's fucking pointless.

nice hat

So let me get this straight: you came into a thread who's topic clearly bugs you, shitposted contributing nothing, and then become a turbo autist when someone points out you're being a faggot.

Shit son, I hope you're meme-ing cause I feel sorry for someone that retarded.

Rough concept I sort of want to try for Space Marines. The Color choices are inspired by Slave Knight Gael from Dark Souls III.

Their backstory isn't really developed yet, but the general idea is they are loyalists from some (not sure which) fallen legion, and have been on a non-stop penitent crusade to atone for the sins of their brothers.

(Broke sword probably won't be a real thing, More of another reference to Dark Souls)

>loyalists from some (not sure which) fallen legion

How often does this actually happen in the lore?

Don't take it as an attack on Your Dudes, I'm just curious.

welcome to Veeky Forums? Enjoy your stay, newfag?

Synopsis: The Laconic Shields have a history of their forces coming to the aid of it's fringe worlds, as their own home system dwells near. The forces of this chapter often are seen throwing themselves into battle, establishing a defense worthy of Dorn's own sons, relying upon personal endurance and iron hard discipline of emotions to hold ground. The warriors of the chapter are noted for their extreme adherence to a lifestyle devoid of emotional outburst, not ones for prideful claims to glory, nor moving showings of humanity as others may indulge in. For while there may be a desire to cheer at the enemy's defeat, or cry out at the fall of a battle brother, it is said by the chapter Ephors that a great anger lies within the souls of each battle brother, and indeed, they must keep their temper tightly leashed. Said to have been formed from the 13th Founding, there is a noted investigation to this claim by Imperial archivists, who claim to have sourced citing their heraldry being spotted even millennia before their establishment, their ships plying through the void, seeking out the foes of man. Despite this, with power shields in hand, The Laconic Shields stand ready to face all foes, side to side, braced for impact.

penitent crusade is a thing, but being part of the traitor legion itself should be a secret

So you are actually retarded.

I'm so sorry.

Notable Battle:
-Relief of Oblysk: In the year 37.681, during the incursion of The Fissure of Chaos, the world of Oblysk comes under assault. With it's primary forces, Knights of House Sobieski included, off facing the primary threat of Traitor Marines, a auxiliary of the enemy, Damned Guardsmen known as The Ghorstgrand Gravewalkers manages to make an assault on the Forge World directly. Their remaining forces hard pressed to slow the enemy, the Mechanicus sends out a call for aid, looking to call back their deployed forces in defense of the homeworld. Instead, they are answered by the Hysmanai King of The Laconic Shields, Cleomicles. Leading his 300 strong royal retinue down unto the surface, Cleomicles drives into the traitorous souls of The Gravewalkers, and puts them to rest, once and for all. In recognition of their timely intervention, Forge World Oblysk makes a pact of alliance with The Laconic Shields, and since then, has been supplying the chapter with some equipment as a means of thanks.

(And yes, these are my own guys >.>)

I'm so sorry that you think you are better than me for writing irrelevant sonic OC fiction for poorly assembled plastic men.

>projecting this hard

Shouldn't you have some kind of care worker watching you or something?

no

They soft retconned that out.

Arvida's now Janus, after he merged with Magnus' shard.

Now the weird implication is that they are secretly Lunar Wolves descent.

Huh, you got a lot less glib all the sudden, guess the extra chromosome makes concentrating too hard for you.

Its strongly implied the Blood Ravens are descendants of the Thousand Sons. I', sure it would be kept a close secret by the Chapter. But like I said, they aren't fully fleshed out. Don't even have a name for them.

Oh, didn't know that. Also sorry for the deleted comment, misspelled like a retard.

Synopsis: Where other Chapters of Astartes might herald their coming with fanfare and ostentatious parade, when The Penitent Scions arrived in the sector, none would first know of it. A secretive sect of warriors, their ranks have proven to be helpful in times of Chaos based invasion, yet their presence never remains for any length of time. Constantly on the move, their forces usually arrive in small strike teams, completing their mysterious objective, before withdrawing without a trace. From what records are kept in the sector archives, it is clear they hunt something, linked to the forces of Chaos, and a warband in particular, yet what it is is unknown.

(My buddy keeps these guys very close to the chest.)

Did this shit all happen in DoW3 or something? Cause that sounds dumb.

It's a neat concept, I was just curious.

You asked a yes or no question.
I answered with a no, you fucking idiot.

I'm not exactly sure where the whole Lunar Wolves of all thing came from, but Arvida and the "raven of blood" is just completely dropped at The Last Son of Prospero.

>Asked insulting banter question
>Thought he actually just had to give a yes/no answer and not respond any more at all

Fuck you're retarded, god damn. Did it take you a full seven minutes to come up with this weak ass response too? Fucks sake.

And since apparently I have to be clear for your retarded sake, you don't just have to answer yes or no to that question either.

To traumatize the enemy.

House Name: The Illustrious House Sobieski
Warcry: “Death From Above, Make The Enemy Kneel”
Founding: M34.683
Knight Number: 162
High Lord: Król Jakub IV Sobieski
Homeworld: Varsovia
Home System: Jormungandr Sector
Allegiance: The Imperium of Man
Colours: White Upper, Red Lower, Copper & Silver Trim

Synopsis: The first into the charge, the knights sworn to the defense of Oblysk, House Sobieski is a gathering of knights intimately acquainted with strife. On their settled home of Varsovia, the warriors of Sobieski have faced invasion from Greenskin brutes, their masses washing over it's icy fields, Chaos warlords, mighty engines of steel and drilled soldiers pillaging home and hearth, and Tyranid infestations, wild beasts still running rampant over it's war torn surface. And yet, the people endure, and remain all the more belligerent in spite of it.

Notable Battle:
-Charge of Khardeph: Having come to the sector during the tumultuous times of The Beast, the knights of Sobieski would be orphans of war, their original world sacked and razed by the rampaging Orkish Hordes. With heavy heart and a fiery passion, their King, Janek I, would lead his surviving men into a charge against the foul xenos, plunging from battlefield to battlefield in an effort to find righteous destruction on the battlefield. Where they would come, would be upon the world of Khardeph, a resource based world that was mined for it's precious metals by the Forge World Oblysk. Here, the Orks had come in force, besieging it's largest processing depot, the precious metal inside ripe for the looting. At the end of a year long siege, the men within would be at their last span of strength, knowing the orks would be upon them soon, and their efforts in vain. And yet, on the dawn of their next morn, as the Greenskin horde rushed forth, from above, came salvation. Coming down at the side of the Krakaus Mountains, would be Sobiesksi, dropping from orbit to take the fight to the enemy. Their knights, fitted with mighty retro rockets, would slow their burning descent to tolerable levels, allowing them to drop down upon a unprepared greenskin horde, to lead into a charge. Breaking enemy morale, and shattering their order, the orks would come under attack from the defenders, renewed in faith by the sight of the mighty war engines, and charging forth from their bastion. In the aftermath of The War of The Beast, House Sobieski would be gifted domain of Khardeph, now renamed Varsovia in their honour, and with it, a new home to rebuild from.

>Did it take you a full seven minutes to come up with this weak ass response too?
apparently. You aren't my fucking mother. I don't have to reply to your every fucking whim within seconds, you spoiled piece of shit. You think I'm not multitasking right now, at bare minimum of 2 threads that I'm following?

>>Asked insulting banter question
>>Thought he actually just had to give a yes/no answer and not respond any more at all
I didn't have to do anything, and I never implied it. Don't make shit up. I know that you think people like your fluff OCs, but they don't, so stop making shit up.

My death guard dudes The Blightrott Brotherhood who i really like a lot. It's just another green scheme but Im trying to mix it up and make them just a bit more dirty/darker. The Brotherhood were various members of different units within the 7th Plague Company. When a new potent pestilence which can be masked as a powerful aphrodisiac in the form of a powder is fought over within the halls of brewers and alchemists, a conspiracy was born to breakaway with said pestilence. After slipping away during a retreat back into the Eye, the Blightrott Brotherhood now spread their 'Rottdust' freelance to other warbands, or even to Rogue Traders. My bud calls them the Breaking Bad Brotherhood.

If fluff doesn't matter, then why are you here? You're just seeking attention thinking that you're some clever shit.

Painting is stupid, just play the game.

Playing is stupid, just stare at the box

There you go making shit up again. You need to stop.

Also my presence is irrelevant to the importance of fluff. Fluff can be important or unimportant depending on the media and the context of the discussion. It's fucking stupid here because it's for a game that does not care what the fluff is. It's a game that's dictated by rules, not fluff. If this was an RPG thread then I wouldn't call it stupid since RPGs place emphasis on the importance of fluff and mechanics are adjusted for the sake of cooperative story telling.

plenty do.

>MUH BANTS

Indeed brother.

Do you have one built up? I'd love to see it!

I do need some help expanding my Sisters fluff, if you guys have any ideas. See, as I was rolling for them on the table, I got it so that one of their Order enemies would be a Space Marine Chapter, and seeing as how I love the idea of The Sisters (Space Amazonians) vs My Space Marines (Space Spartans), I volunteered my Shields for duty.

How do I foster a hate between two loyal bodies of The Imperium? I was thinking of pulling a Trojan War/Penthesilea kind of deal, but I figure I would need more.

Any ideas?

God I wish man, but no, honestly most of "My Dudes" are more for a setting me and the guys use for RPGs. While I have been able to start modeling Laconic Shields, I'm still waiting to try my hand at one of the Winged Hussars.

Name: Black Corsairs

Warcry: By Bolter and Blade give them No quarter.

Strength: Half Strength (400-500 Marines Mostly Primaris)

Homeworld: Fleet Based Chapter Primary ship "Saint Sabbats Revenge"

Essentially Imperial Privateers that operate around the Sabbat Worlds. They mostly Target Dark Eldar and Chaos Slave Trade ships and that is how the recruit new Battle-Brothers by essentially adopting any Children that they cannot return to their home planet into the chapter. Girls become serifs, tech-priests and bridge officers and boys begin the training to become a Space Marine. Sadly due to their "take what we can get approach to recruits their survival rates for recruits are fairly low with time spent as a scout having a 25% survival rate.

I have a few dudes painted but no pics on my computer. I'll snap a pic and post them when I get home.

Why do you have such a hate-boner for people enjoying make believe games for different reasons than you do?

A Death Guard warband, they serve Mortarion blindly, their armour is painted bone white with little heraldry, they use daemons of nurgle to bolster their small numbers.

You have some top tier autism.
kill yourself my dude.

Because I've grown tired of people thinking it has any merit for discussion beyond the contents of the writing itself. I don't care if people enjoy things, they can enjoy whatever the fuck they want provided no one's getting harmed. I'm bothered that they think their enjoyment of the narrative gives the narrative any merit into anything beyond the narrative.
>Primaris are bad because the fluff is bad
>Primarchs coming back are bad because the canon rape!
>AH Abaddon's worthless armless sack of shit in fluff
>Ah Tau win everything with no effort! The giant suits are only a limited protype
>Newcrons personality vs Oldcron spookiness
>Emperor didn't want girls as marines
All this shit is meaningless

The game is made with rules, not narrative. It makes no fucking difference where or how or what the character is in the story, because the only tangible real effect a model can have is existence and its rules.

"Does my army make sense in the fluff" Who the fuck cares. It's a fictional setting with multiple authors. If it's a setting meant for "your dudes" then asking for any approval of it is meaningless. It's not like the fiction lets you alter the rules.

Who the fuck cares if your chapter comes from an agriworld or is fleet based? Who the fuck cares if your legion is purple, burgundy, or turquoise? Doesn't make a lick of fucking difference. If you want fluff to matter, play in a RPG like guy.

I cringed, laughed and felt glory at the same time

Well done user

It's called Chapter Constructor. You can pick what parts are painted what and what parts the marine you generate is made of. If you Google it and end up on a Russian site, you're in the right place.

Risk of Snowflakes

Sundowner Renegades. Originally hailing from the Red Sun system. A close-knit band of Farsight Mercenaries operating mostly on their own, as the values of the greater good starts to be less of a concern in favor of material wealth and the survival of their band.

Each caste involved in the group does their part to assure the survival of this brotherhood, even if each caste consider itself to be the most important cog in the machinery. Members of the Water Caste haggle on black markets across the systems and are vital for striking deals with Human nobles and criminals or Eldar corsairs. The Earth Caste operate closely with the Fire Caste in different, sometimes competitive pairs, to ensure that every resource the band get their hands on is put to use. Crisis Suits and Hammerhead Gundships are often heavily customized with odd bits and ends and painted in each teams colors. The Fire Caste does the bulk of the fighting, the lack of ethereal control and guidance has made them more ferocious and violent. They often drop their helmets as a sign of their fearlessness. The Elite part of the Fire Caste are made up of the Blackskulls, highly tactical and daring units of Breacher Teams who don black pauldrons and helmets. Crisis pilots often fight recklessly to one-up each other in their custom made, and very old patchwork like, suits. Stealth teams are often only equipped with the Older XV-15 type. The newer models being a rare sight and highly valued by the band. Commander Sundowner, also known as "the invincible", runs his men with an iron fist. The epithet comes form the fact that the suit always survives it's pilot. There has been multiple Commanders over the years who met their end on the battlefields. But the suit never seems to. Lastly, the Air Caste are the ones who make sure the band escapes from pursuits and transportation in general.

A large conticent of "gue'vesa" mercenaries and thugs accompany the Sundowners in their operations.

Kabal of the Gilded Crown and Craftwrold Ar'heort

Before the Fall, the Gilded Crown were a noble house among the Eldar - decadent and elegant, as per the norm, but mostly proud. Despite being an ordinary noble house, they saw themselves as kings and queens, to rule a great and mighty kingdom. Their servants, a dedicated Craftworld called Ar'heort, were wholly devoted to their rulers in act and in thought. When the Fall came, the Gilded Crown were in the Webway, on transit to a meeting of noble houses. They quickly learned of what happened, and considered it destiny that they survived, growing more arrogant and obsessed with their royal status. Before long, they acclimated into the Dark Eldar society as a Kabal - distinguished in appearance by their gaudy bright purple-and-silver regalia, and the metallic golden flesh crafted for them by their personal Haemonculus coven, who joins them on realspace raids regularly. At some point, the Gilded Crown reconnected with Ar'heort, who at this point had started worshiping the nobles of the Gilded Crown as ancestral god-spirits. Ar'heort provide information, supplies, and communication with other civilizations to the Gilded Crown, who are more than happy to accept their new role.

In combat, the Gilded Crown relies heavily on Raiders, sometimes not setting foot on ground until a the end of a skirmish. Their forces consist primarily of kabalites, supported mainly by the creations of their Haemonculus; the Archon considers wych cults and mercenaries beneath his domain. Ar'heort will occasionally send troops in to support the Gilded Crown - mostly Dark Reapers and other sources of bombastic, explosive weaponry.
