Anyone got a desk light recommendation? My old one is the kind that clamps to the desk and it doesn't fit my new setup - looking for something with a base that will just sit on a flat surface, be bright as fuck, and hopefully not take up much space.

I git pic related from ikea for equivalent of 10$.
Was 1/3rd of the price compared to other lamps.
Doesnt have a base but a clamp to grab the edge of a desk - doesnt take up the space.
Cant see on the photo but its a huge bastard with like 1m of reach and the strenght of light is obviously up to you and the bulb you chose.

This scheme can end up looking really good. I think painting the striation gaps in the flesh a pink color like the whip would really help make it pop.

I was planning on decorating his coat and helmet. My guard is a bunchbof greatcoats with embroided coats and crested helmets, so he'd fit right in this way.

you can apply it as a powder, and then lock it into place with something like pic related.

You can dissolve it in a suitable solvent and paint it on (usually odorless thinner), it'll return to its dusty appearance when it dries, it'll still need fixing.

You can mix it with acrylic resin (available from MIG and AK for instance) for a goopy substance that works really well as mud.

You can find plenty of ways to use the stuff in tutorials for the more "realistic" modeller side of the model-building hobby, they've been using them for decades.

Pretty much done with this model, until someone points something out I totally missed. The right horn ended up being lost in the additional wire/hair, I should be able to pick it out while painting though. 29 skulls went into the base and two were sacrificed to the floor.

Unrelated to that, I ordered the first set of chameleon metallic paints greenstuff world offers and was planning to spray them on some necron warriors with black, white and zenithal undercoat. Would pictures of the result be appriciated, or will there be enough reviews once they start arriving?

I should get the painting done pretty fast once they arrive. But when I ordered there around the same time last year, my packet got held up in both spain and germany and only arrived in february.

Spain to the Netherlands usually takes at least a week for me (I've ordered from Scale75 quite often, this site is located in the same area), but I've never had them held anywhere thankfully.

Does /wip/ have any recommendations for where to get plasticard and what kind?

I'm hoping to get some sheets in the near future for terrain building, as well as some rods that I can cut up for different sized rivets.

On that note, the one review that was linked here (youtube.com/watch?v=mPReqUUhlEk) did note that you'll need 6-8 coats to get decent coverage, remember to let it dry between layers and take your time, and hit your primed mini with a coat of gloss like he did, solvent based colorshifts also require a gloss base to work at their best, and so do these.

How does the snow look

Could someone provide a link to the airbrush and compressor you use? I know a lot of people seem to like compressors from Ebay but I have no idea what I'm looking at unfortunately.

I retrieved some sheets of polystyrene and PVC Foamboard from the trash at work, and have bashed some rock formations together. The enclosure atop the larger rock is on a base that slots into the top of the mound, albeit not terribly flatly at the moment. The building inside is a 'mystery' GW release from 1997 that nobody I've asked has ever seen before (still got the instructions though, so definitely GW). It may just be that it didn't sell very well and was quickly discontinued.

So, yeah... just about to start thinking about buildings for the enclosure. That's all really.
