Grymkin

Anyone have the new Grymkin PDF? I'm looking to buy it eventually but I always like looking through thing before I bother spending the money.

What is this, user?
Explain and you might have an audience

Malifaux: Warmahordes Edition. Or the other way around.

New Hordes faction for Warma/Hordes. This is now an art dump thread for Grymkin!

Basically dark folk lore/fairy tale faction.

...

That looks baller as fuck.
I'd appreciate more art and a bit of a lore-dump. I always liked the look of Cryx and Everblight(?) but never got into the lore as much.

(Official page blurb)

Cast down to the hells of Urcaen by Menoth long ago, the Defiers and their grymkin armies have risen again to punish the wicked across all of Immoren. Freed by the Old Witch, Zevanna Agha, the Defiers now work toward their own ends. Each is a self-made godlike being who wields uncanny power to reap what is due from the corrupted denizens of Caen. The harvest of the damned will not end so long as the hearts of humankind remain tainted and debased.

Within these covers you will find a trove of evocative Grymkin lore and imagery that will prepare you to reap for the Defiers and harvest the sins of the wicked. Learn the shadowed history of the Grymkin and their dark masters, who dared to stand against the god Menoth. Tease out the truth of the horrific Grymkin warbeasts, formed from the Defiers’ own tormented nightmares, and acquire the secrets of the magical powers each Defier wields, known as Arcana, by which they reshape battlefields. Unleash the malevolent power of your Grymkin army upon your foes with two specialized theme forces, and take inspiration from a painting guide that will fuel your own maddened creativity as you summon your forces to reap the Wicked Harvest.

"Peter, Peter, pumpkin-headed, by the wicked sorely dreaded.

Myths and folk legends tell of twisted terrors with pumpkins for heads known as the dread rots. Wielding cruel implements with rusty blades, these creatures single out wicked and exploitative mortals living at the fringes of civilization for punishment. Now they serve their masters in battle, emerging from the loamy soil to reap a bloody harvest upon humanity."

"Cowards who flee their posts in war their comrades do betray. Lured by golden lantern light, they die while off astray.

Deserters often follow the alluring glow of a strange lantern as they stumble through the dark—and perish. They rise again as empty husks, stripped of hate and fear. Now they bear rifles and march beneath that lantern in the ranks of the Hollowmen."

Cautious calm has no place here—our drunken revels give us cheer!

Mad caps are particularly volatile imps that congregate around a portable still. These hedonistic grymkin gleefully hurl volatile bottles of flammable moonshine at anyone foolish enough to wander near their raucous merriment. Unfortunates who quaff the liquor from their still are quickly transformed into speedy and unstable cask imps.

I dunno, I don't frequent this forum much. Seems popular in other places.

Any idea where I can find little rhymes like these? I love these things.

I'm pretty sure most old nursery rhymes are pretty sinister if you think about it.

Yeah I've been looking at those. They certainly fit the bill. Thanks user
