Reposting, does anyone know where can I find a female head with hair similiar to pic related?

FloridAnon here, did SeattleAnon get his package? I’m moving in the midst of the holidays so I’m not glued to wip threads like I normally would be, plus my tracking number is back in Florida.

>56980617
this is my current set up for taking pictures how should move the lights and or set up in general to make my pictures better

Oh boy, 2 of my new rough riders built. Got them from mad robot industries, because emperor forbid that GW make them anymore. Just 8 more to do, oh and I need to get proper bases for them. Good kit, clean and nicely detailed but came with out bases and the horse halves go together kinda iffy.

oh im fucking retarded meant to

Reminder that the pastebin on mini manufacturers needs some love. I had added it one year ago, but then left WIP for reasons. If you have some propositions for stuff to add say it and then i will try and make it easier to read with some descriptions if we have enough stuff. As of now it seems pretty useless and could be gutted from the OP if we can't improve it.
Also name is Wiptg and pass is Veeky Forums, if someone wants to add stuff, since i am not really a regular here anymore.

Cheap and basic as fuck but it will do user. Photo quality is still shit but if there is no helping that then I have no idea what advice I can give. Just do your best and keep posting your progress. Look forward to them.

Also greetings fellow Canadian.

Great conversions, the cast quality looks great on these, except for those ears

Should I get these minis? It's a set of 10 nymphs for $150 that are borderline lewd. Most of them are very artistic but a couple look like they were made to be hot glued. They seem pretty high quality but it's this company's first models.

kickstarter.com/projects/1492106834/aeon-trespass-nymphs

You have $300 to spend on models. What do you get?

cadian infantry, skaven clanrats, and ork boys. I would be painting until 2929

30 boxes of cultists/guardsmen/termagants

Fuckton of Reaper Bones, I guess.

a ton of sanguinary guard, im absoluetely in love with their models

Maybe a few boxes of skullcrushers to round out my Blades of Khorne list, but then I'd probably start either my Cypher/Fallen/Inquisition/Scions army I've been dreaming up, or Legion of Azgorh with the remainder

2 armies worth of forgeworld recasts from the chinese

1 forgeworld model

another lord of skulls and 140 cultists

If I want to use pic related to basecoat my models should I use a primer (corax white/chaos black) on them first?

Don't know if 300 is enough, so I'd probably start from the bottom and cut off when the money runs out.

Loads of GW, Spellcrow and Kromlech bits to make Noise Marines, some Anvil Industries bits to make some heavily armoured cultists for my Iron Warriors, 2 boxes of Frostgrave cultists for less armoured cultists for my Iron Warriors, then probably a Heldrake. Should come to about 300USD. Or more. Or less. I usually just chuck money at the hobby until I'm up to my elbows in plastic and regret.

Speaking of which, posted this on the tailend of the last thread. Rubbed off the paint on the collar of this WGE Daemon Prince I've been working on. How should I go about fixing it?I'm thinking just redoing the whole colour, but that would be an absolute shiter and a good five layers of paint have been rubbed off, so idk if it'll actually stay on.

Anyone dealt with this before?

I usually just hit the area with a little vallejo brush on primer (and let it cure for about 12hr) and then redo with thin(ner than usual) coats

Don't have any brush on primer, reckon Abaddon Black would do the trick?

How would you even go about priming for this? Would you use a gray primer? Looks like a nightmare

Prime it white or grey and dont assemble it until it is all done

The only things I can think of would be maybe some Kingdom Death heads from pinups or specific character models, I went looking for female heads for a conversion a month or so back and all the just head options I found stuck to simple, short hair because it's much easier to fit on a little sprue and pop onto existing models. The ones that go for long hair always put it up in giant ponytails for the same reasons. Seems like a really wasteful idea to order an expensive kingdom death mini just to hack the head off for a conversion, plus they might not even be the right scale, but that seems to be the only option for fancy female hair.

Im thinking the best way to pre plan a colour scheme for my new ig army is using the army painter from dow dark crusade or dow2 retribution but my notebook is shit and probably wouldnt run either. Does anyone know a source for the painter itself or if there are demos for either game that have the painter as a fully functioning feature in them?

No, GW sprays are primers as well. Whatever you spray that on is going to be that color forever, be warned.

i Usualy use adobe kuler or something and abstract the mini. Or that Space marine thing on bolter and chainsword. If you feel the need to use a guardsman specifically i can't help you.

as long as you seal the whole area well afterwards, and dont go touching it again while you finish the rest of the model, I imagine it would be ok, done it myself before

I've wanted the fellwater troggoths ever since I started painting, so def those. Then I'd just get whatever looks cool to paint: lizardmen, some skaven, more nurgle dudes, a couple 'nids, other monsters, etc.

What's the longest hair for a reasonable price you found? It doesn't have to be fancy, just not ugly short hair.

As much old metal Praetorian Guard (Or Victoria minis substitute) as I can get and how ever many Leman Russes I can tag on to that.

I ended up just settling for medium-length hair from statuesque, they've got some long enough to fill out a large gorget or collar but they're probably still shorter than you're looking for.

I did,
Mobile atm so I can’t easily link the post.
You did good, book will be nice on my commute and I’ve wanted to do hazard stripes for a project in mind

Since the mini I want to make is Khornate girl I'd rather go for something more androgynous but those will work as last resort.
The original picture pretty much shows what armour will look on her, so this length is fine too.

Are you aware that anvil industry sells a bunch of pith helmet heads and dress uniforms?

Also, the GW buttplug is proudly holding a conversion at home

thats not patrice

Spring for them user, they are fun as fuck

Brilliant, cheers user

Bonus pic of overall progress, Wargame Exclusive really do a fantastic casting job. Nicest resin I've ever worked with.

Shame that GW let this game die and now it seems like they are raising hope just to sell everything they still have and drop this system for good

Man I might just have to after this holiday season, I love their sculpts

I was gonna buy thorins company cause Im a huge tolkien nerd, and then nothing else because fuck that game. 500 bucks for smaug? Nigger no. Scenery is pretty awesome though, gotta give them that. Lake town house is good looking AND cheap as fuck.

Operation Icestorm
The Shieldmaiden from Nuts Planet
Maybe some more infinity stuff after that, unless the good Kingdom Death Expansions are still availible.

Just finished putting simple paintjobs on the components for my DIY secret santa pencil case battletech.

Okay, thanks
>Whatever you spray that on is going to be that color forever, be warned
I want to spray the damn Warp Lightning Cannon. Painting it with a brush is a horror

Chapter master is coming along nicely, pose ended up being a lot better looking than I anticipated, gonna try and make the sword look real nice now then i have to do the tops of the wings and attach the actual jump pack

they aren't killed middle earth. They'll keep it forever for one simple reason, ITS THE ORIGINAL FANTASY UNIVERSE! GW are not givng away that fucking license when they know they can always get some money from tolkien fans and the books and films will keep bringing people into the hobby.

They're reviving the game this year coming as middle earth fantasy battles and adding it to specialist games. The designers are on the GBHL facebook page and are pretty open about the fact that there's alot in the pipeline for middle earth.

Reposting for visibility and addition to as imgur. Thank you James! Gift is awesome and I hope yours was just as good! Not pictured is the large amounts of chocolates that are in my freezer and the Skittles that are in my stomach.

WHFB Middle Earth Crossover when?

I use the averland and the fang sprays to prime and no matter how hard I scrub or what I put them in to soak, those GW sprays never, ever come off the model. They also have a really bad habit of coming out of the can THICC so spray a random sprue w/lettering on it first- if the lettering is still readable after the spray you will be good to use it on your models.

never for licensing reasons and also because that would be shiiiiiiiiiiiit.

>They also have a really bad habit of coming out of the can THICC
Good God, I was so mad after my first time with corax white. My testing orc boy looked like a thicc snowman

>google thicc snowman
>gets pictures of thicc snowmen
>notsurewhatiexpected.jpg

Lighting looks much much better, good job. Chapter Master though? For what chapter?

The white wings looks good but I am a bigger fan of blush wash over brown. Gold armor also looks alright but it needs some highlights.

but think about how many new players AoS will get, their player base will increase from 1 person to 2 - so ronery

its my custom chapter The Statues of Mesing (old brass armor is the shtick for the ground troops), looking at it now the gold needs to stand out a bit more so i think im gonna try for a nice highlight, as for the wings its just a preference of mine

Its too late for joining secret santa?

>They're reviving the game this year coming as middle earth fantasy battles
Yeah, I know. I'm lurking the /mesbg/ lately to stay up-to-date with news and actually learn about the game itself. Battle companies seem to be a decent way to start playing it. Shame it's dead in my area just for now I hope
>and adding it to specialist games
I don't really get what does it mean. What does it matter for us, as players and customers?
>The designers are on the GBHL facebook page and are pretty open about the fact that there's alot in the pipeline for middle earth
I'm watching some old battlereps and reading through the rules for now but I'm already seeing there is so much to improve. The game needs a new ultimate rulebook (now it is such a mess rule-wise so I hope we will not have to wait until summer for the new one), some starter sets (both for two players and single player), digital rulebook and supplements (you just can't be left with no way to get the book because it is out of stock) etc. It looks like this system stuck in 2012 and needs to catch up asap

Most likely, unless SSanon can find you a match. You certainly wont get anything until january though with it being so close to christmas.

Delet

my local GW is nearly all AOS players, you might see a 40k game going on at any given time but you will most certainly see 2 AOS games going from open to close.

CHECK YOSELF
the game is far from dead. They just did a whole day of twitch coverage on the brand new expansion. Do little research and you'll find plenty of players. Thing is, the game is really good so there isn't 1003746372 thread bitching about rules so it get kind of ignored. Absolutely get involved (especially if you're in the UK, it's get bigger every day here)

In my LGS every 40k player is also AoS player but not every AoS player is playing 40k. The AoS to 40k ratio is 2 to 1. But right now everyone is mad at GW so we are playing mostly x-wing, armada and casual EDH

Duncan san is busy painting his own army
So at least someone plays it

I second , their stuff is nice and detailed plus not too much of a bitch to clean before painting, and you get multi part models that you can customize. The new line with dress uniforms and helmets looks great.

I'm looking forward to Monday - Arthur's probably going to get his /ss/.

Love the idea and the execution.
I'm a big fan of ten-minute games to fill time until your next game is ready.

Top geezer.

>They just did a whole day of twitch coverage on the brand new expansion
Yeah, I watched it but the only real news was the Nazguls release in january.
>Do little research and you'll find plenty of players
Maybe in UK or USA but in my area I can not find a single Hobbit/LotR player and I'm living in a 300k city. Some people are playing 40k and AoS but GW games are not really a thing here
>Thing is, the game is really good so there isn't 1003746372 thread bitching about rules so it get kind of ignored
Is it? Some rules seem to be really weird and redundant - i.e. all these mounts-related shenanigans
Wait, what is he playing?

How do I get good at airbrushing? I have some 3d printed stuff that I consider toys, not models, so I plan to put in some practice with them before I do anything more than prime my minis

>What I've been painting recently- the army of Dol Amroth, over 600pts total now

A redemptor dreadnought, two space wolves venerable dreadnoughts and an ironclad dreadnought, anything left over would be used to buy weapon options from forgeworld

2 SC Adeptus Mechanicus boxes, A set of Kastelan Robots, and a Sydonian Dragoon.
Then I have some of the most beautiful and thoughtfully created models GW has ever made.

Yo, Australianon, your package is int he mail. Should arrive in 7 days, you should get a tracking email from the santanon.

I'm not sure what you mean by mouth rules. You can have a mount, and that mount can be killed. Simple.

How long would it take for a package being processed by USPS to get from NYNY to Texas?

GW sprays are NOT primers.

They can be used as basecoats for your models but are not primers and are never referred to as such by GW anywhere or their painting teams / Duncan

Reposting for visibility
Did NHanon with Griff in his name get his gift yet?

*half

games-workshop.com/en-CA/Chaos-Black-Spray-CAN
>"it acts as a primer"
>inb4 "acting as a primer and being a primer are not the same thing"

This is my first cultist. I'm not 100% finished. I was gonna brighten up the flesh and highlight the lower cowl thing.

Despite the wip factor I still think it looks boring as shit. I wanna keep the red hoods/cowls, but what can I paint the rest of my cultist shirts and pants? Black and brown sure is dull to look at.

they're talking about colour sprays, which are not primers. gw don't have any for sale just now to show you though

Any more clues mate? There’s more than one of us down here...

$15 a model is pretty bad and they are 100% there for you to jerk off over.

Check out the other statuesque heads. There's a pretty decent range now, and some of them have their war face on.

Wait until you've done the highlights. The head and arms look like they need to pop, and hopefully the highlights will help it do that.

grey skin is a bit weird, user. The rest is a good basecoat start.

send to:
Australia
Sydney
Main street
Red house on the left

Not him but ... You know that means it literally isnt right?

That's like a 4 day road trip; add 1 day processing each end, pad it an extra day to account for USPS fuckery. 7 business days.

Not the original user, but we all pay far more than $15 a mini for things.

As for you, If you want to paint and display them, then maybe invest at the lower level and pay more for the rest later on. Unproven companies could have shit resin, and loosing $18 to that will feel better than loosing $150.

If you know that you want every single one of them, that you are willing to put up with any and all problems, and that you will definitely not let them sit in a closet, unopened and unpainted, forever, then go in deep.

They don't fly mail across the country?
Christ your Postal Service is fucking third world.

There's multiple levels to postal services in the USA. The cheapest option is truck transportation but airmail is available.

All done. Was fun to paint and a nice break up from the other dudes I have been working on. So the major criticism I have been receiving is that I went too far with the highlights and I have made the armor look grey instead of black. What's the consensus on this and I will try to improve on my next marine.

Idk what you did but it looks better now then it did last time

Parts of it definitely look more grey from some angles, dead on the highlighting on the legs makes them look pretty grey and that kinda colors the rest of it, but the side and back views look black just fine.

I've been watching this interaction and honestly I cannot see where you think it looks grey outside the lighting effects on the legs.

Awesome! I'm glad you found it all useful.
