So over the past few weeks I've been watching this really shitty game that spurred up on discord.
It's really shitty, but damn do I have to share this piece of gold that came up last night.
So for some context, this is a Digimon roleplay (on discord) using that homebrew system that usually gets brought up whenever digimon gets mentioned here, Digimon Digital Adventures.
The setting is basically what you'd expect from a 14 year old from Gaia making a roleplay, a bunch of human kids (mostly late teenagers) end up in the digital world without any warning, a digivice in their pocket from one of the seasons and apparently, the world is being destroyed, but the details on that weren't totally explained. All this doesn't matter anyway, since most of the players ignore it to be shitlords anyways.
So far stupid, but not outright offensive on children's anime roleplay standards, right? Well, here's the thing, the main GM of this game is probably the worst writer I've ever actually had to actually deal with directly and out of everyone in the game, he's honestly the worst. Like the only reason the game actually found a way to be active is because the guy lucked out and got a bunch of people to help him with GMing acting as GMs for scenarios themselves, infact they GM for him...
Yes, we have a GMPC.
The character's name is Colby Yew. (What a stupid name amirite?)
Colby is a 17 year old, 6'1 guy with a Xros loader (or in this case "Fusion Loader" because lo and behold, this shitter is a dubfag) paired with a Zubamon.
He is described as follows on his sheet:
“Colby is tall, with dark hair and green eyes, and wears an orange hoodie with white trim.”
>Caught in the Line of Fire In the middle of one of Colby's fights, a bystander got seriously hurt, and Colby has been traumatized by the event. Anytime an innocent bystander gets hurt, he remembers that incident.
Oh yes, I forgot to mention about the GM, he's well into his 20s, if not 30s and he also admitted this isn't his first self-insert. In fact, he has stated that when he writes characters they're almost always self-inserts.
This is the type of dude we're dealing with and we're not even at the good part.
So as the game progressed Colby started to have a crush on this other character named Lucy (who is played by one of the other GMs), who has shown at best moderate interest in him through their journey. Colby actually confessed his feelings to Lucy, but the confession fell flat because Lucy was more interested in getting home than dealing with romance.
>I'm flattered but is being trapped in the Digital World really the right time to fall in love? I don't know Colby, I'll consider it and I'll get back to you on that. I think you're a nice guy, it's just that we're in a life or death situation here and I would prefer to get home before even thinking about snuggles by the fireside.
She proceeded to focus the conversation on the more serious topic of trying to get him to be willing to fight with resistance members against the big bad, who Colby hated because they used underhanded tactics like guerrila warfare. If that wasn't enough of a hint, Colby is a fucking retard with his ass up his butt about backwards morals, but that's not what I'm here to tell you today.
Nathaniel Carter
After all things weren't over with his friend Lucy, and the GM had to make his pairing canon.
Later in the roleplay, Lucy gets fed up with everything and tries to break her digivice, this brings her to one of the 3 Digimon that brought all the characters to the world - Ophanimon, who pleas for Lucy to return to the digital world, offering to bring back a digimon who died and then, name drops out boy Colby as a reason to go back. (While also shit talking the girl’s main partner)
>She frowned a little, before removing her mask to reveal a gorgeous blond woman with blue eyes. "I am Ophanimon, and yes, I am a member of the Celestial Trio. You are here because you do possess the necessary skills, Lucy... And more than that, one of your fellow humans has come to rely on you. And Tsukaimon needs you most of all... Do you really think that he can manage life on his own... He is... what's the human expression...? "Too stupid to live"?"
>"So? Whatever life he lives, it'll be better than being put in danger by being with me. And which one of those humans even needs me? I'm dead-fucking-weight half the time and you'd be able to see that if you didn't wear that dumb mask all the time. Like seriously, how do you even see out of that thing?" Lucy replies.
>Ophanimon shrugged a bit. "I see as well without it as with... But your friend, Colby... He will not leave Hub City... Until you arrive. He's too worried about you... I believe that he would stay there, completely useless to us, if you did not go to him. But more than that... You are not dead weight. You were brought here because you possess the skills necessary to save our world... "
She ended up choosing to go back, mostly because nobody would really want to just give up on their character in the middle of a game. Also note she's interacted with at least 5 or 6 other players to this point and has a good relationship with more people than just Colby.

Now to continue,
Shortly after this part, Colby uses his digixros to FUSE WITH HIS DIGIMON AS ARMOR (he homebrewed out of the system this for himself) and flew directly to where Lucy returned, despite having no good reason to know.
I’ll post his description of the form he took because it’s quality stuff.
(turns out it was too long to post in one post, so give me a minute.)
Isaiah Harris
>Colby frowned as the call went unanswered, and looked up at the sky. "I... She's okay, right? I have to find her..." Thrusting forward the digivice, he expertly turned the dial once more, finally combining his entire team as one. "Let's go to work!! Zubamon!!! Firamon!!! Stingmon!!! Digi-Fuse!!!"
I'm retarded and the post was still too long so give me a moment.
Also reminder the writer is in his mid twenties, also take note of the frowning, it a trend in this dudes descriptions.
Jaxson Watson
>As the white light faded from his body, Colby's jet-black hair was tousled by the breeze. He was now adorned, from head to toe, with armor. Over his dark-blue jeans, from the knee down, he had armored legplates, the same design as Stingmon's right down to the black spiked parts that covered his black tennis shoes. On the front of the main portion of the legplate, the typical Stingmon green could be seen, but the back was black, with red lines, and a gold accent could be seen on the knee itself, sporting a firespout like the ones on Firamon's headpiece. Bracers adorned his arms, covering the back of his hand, but not the palm or fingers. These bracers were red and black, with the same gold accents on the wrists, the spouts of fire coming from the center. On the portion covering the back of his hand, Colby's bracers sported Stingmon's laser points. A metal breastplate covered Colby's chest, stylized as if to bear Firamon's face, albeit almost mechanical in appearance. The expression was lifeless, of course, but that didn't stop it from being lined, on the edges with golden mane. Gold accents adorned the front, as well, and Stingmon's spiked shoulder pauldrons completed the look. Firamon's red wings sprouted from the back of the ensemble. Colby's visor had shifted, now seemingly resembling Stingmon's face, without the red hair. Even the Zuba Sword had changed; the sword now resembled a rapier; a saber-like blade jutting from a cup guard shaped like Zubamon's head. One of Firamon's firespouts surrounded the blade, bathing it in flames. Colby leaned the weapon against his shoulder, declaring for all the world to hear what he would be known as. "Colby "Burning Zuba Saber"!!!!" With his eyes set on the skies, Colby wasted no time. He shot into the sky and took off towards Processor Canyon, in the hopes that he would find Lucy asleep in some inn in Fragment Glades...
To make up going retard, enjoy art from one of the players of Colbys new form

>He sighed, nodding, and pulled her close, wrapping his arms around her tightly as if he would never let go. "I'm so sorry..." >Lucy lets out a small 'meep' as Colby hugs her. "Sorry for what?" Lucy says as she tries not to get chaffed by all the crumpled leather around her arms. >Colby let out a long breath. "I'm sorry that I left you alone... I'm sorry that I wasn't there to keep you and your friends safe... I'm sorry that I was so mad about the situation with Beelzemon that I just up and left... I'm sorry that I haven't had the guts to open up and just tell you how I feel... I'm sorry that I've been so stubborn and thick-headed... But most of all, I'm sorry that I've been so boorish and selfish... You deserve so much more..." >"Colby, I get the intent. That part is great, but you couldn't have done anything about some or those things you're sorry about. You can't keep me safe all the time nor can you change your own personality. Also, you could possibly spill those feelings when you stop hugging me," Lucy says as she tries to wriggle her way out of the grapple. >He frowned, releasing her and pulling away, muttering a slight "Sorry..." as he did so. Frowning, he turned to look to the city. "I, uh... I was going to ask you to go to dinner with me, tonight... But that's only if you, uh, want to..." (why is he suddenly a beta) (why is he always frowning) >"Again with sorrys.." Lucy whispers as the mountain shakes. "Dinner can wait then?" Lucy asks Colby as she takes out her digivice. >He turned to look to the mountain, nodding. "Yeah. Just know that I'm never leaving your side again. I'm going to protect you from now on. That's a promise. Now let's go to work!!! Zubamon!! Firamon!!! Stingmon!!! Digi-Fuse!!!!" As Colby became engulfed in white light, he reappeared, armor over his hoodie and jeans like before. Scooping Lucy up, he took off into the sky.
Ayden Richardson
Also another reminder there wasn't much that happened between the two between the failed confession and now, but this was his response on finding her. Also remember he was doing all that in the form posted above.
Shit's weird, but overall, whatever just bad writing. It's stuff you expect from gaia roleplayers and so on, but this, this is where it gets entertaining.
It's time for Colby to reveal his dark past.
>He frowned a little, nodding as he caught up to her. "Listen, Lucy... Remember, I told you I needed to sit down and talk with you...? Well, I've decided... I really like you. Like, a lot. More than I've ever liked anyone... And I know, it's too soon for that kind of talk, but... If I'm ever going to stand a chance of having a meaningful relationship... I've got to be up front with you, Lucy. I need to tell you something about me... And I understand if, after this, you never want to see me again... But I have to tell you. Because you can't trust me if I don't..."
>"..... Ok, Colby. Not very subtle are you? I don't think you're too shabby yourself so spill, what's this deep dark secret?" Lucy asks as she strolls along.
>He frowned. "This... Isn't about subtlety, sorry... This isn't even about my feelings... I'm just... I have to tell you, if we're ever even going to stand a chance..." He took a deep breath, closed his eyes, and pushed it out with all of his force of will. "I killed someone once. Like, a human.... Okay, I killed multiple humans, but... This one in particular... He didn't have it coming... He... He was an innocent..."
>Multiple >Humans >17 Years old
William Carter
>his self insert is a serial killer This just keeps getting better
Dominic Roberts
>He frowned a little, looking down at his hands, seeing the blood that stained them as if it actually existed. "I... I was in a fight. I wasn't exactly a street kid growing up; I had a family, a home... A good life, by all accounts... But I spent my time in exactly two places... At home, in front of a TV, computer, or the like... Or on the streets, fighting. Putting my life on the line, so that I could get strong... Ever since I was little, I'd idolized those strong street fighters, the ones you see in movies, ya know? So I became one... Well, of course, if you know anything about me, you know that I find a cause and defend it... At the time, I was... I was trying to clean up a street gang. My opponent was... Their chief enforcer... He was untouchable; I couldn't lay a finger on him. I drew a knife, hoping to cut him... He jumped back, leaping onto and off of a dumpster... As I rushed past the dumpster, I slashed at him... And I failed to see the homeless kid getting up from behind it to see the commotion... I... I..."
He was a normal kid. Who became a street fighter because of stuff he saw on tv. Who ended up fighting gang bosses... in a digimon roleplay...
Joshua Jones
Sounds like quite a cheesy character.
Adrian Nguyen
>He balled his hands into fists, tears forming in his eyes. "I didn't even see him... Until after I felt my blade bite into flesh... When I looked... The kid was laying in a pool of his own blood... I'd sliced open his jugular...."
How do you even knife a kid by accident
How do you even get away with that?
Where the fuck was this fight going on for there to just be homeless kids
What the fuck is this narrative
Jordan Torres
Also to answer the what type of pussy brings a knife to a fist fight question:
>"Damn. What did you do about it though?" Lucy says as she continues walking, putting an arm around Colby's shoulder as she does so.
>He shook his head, frowning as he wiped at his eyes. "I... I couldn't... The kid was homeless, as far as I could tell... I got out of there... I... The cops never found out, but I... I couldn't take it. It's haunted me ever since... I... It's why I want, so badly, to make sure you never get hurt... Not by this place. You didn't ask for this. You aren't a fighter... You're innocent..."
>Colby's mind began to flash back to the scene; the sirens blaring... He'd lost his target, and all he could do was run. In the present, Colby began to shake, his hands moving to the sides of his head, tears pouring down his face as he let out a horrendous scream. "I don't deserve to live!!! Not after taking an innocent life!!!"
>"Colby. Get a grip of yourself. Did you do it on purpose? Answer that question before saying anything else," Lucy says slowly.
>Colby didn't even wince at the slap, just looked up at Lucy, his eyes red and puffy from the tears. He finally looked away, wiping the tears away. "I- I'm sorry. I shouldn't have... I shouldn't have broken down..." Sniffling a little as he tried to regain his composure, he shook his head vehemently. "No, of course not... I didn't even know the kid was there..."
>"Ok, why did you bring the knife then?"Lucy askes, "Because you didn't think you could beat the enforcer in a straight fight?"
>He shook his head. "No, because... Knives are pretty common in street fights. It's not like I brought a gun or anything... It's that if my opponent has a knife, it's fair to have a knife, myself... Ya know?"
So this guy is okay with underhanded tactics when it kills someone, but not when it's against a bad guy actually causing distress you want to prevent?
Tyler Thompson
and now for the justification for literally killing people since you were 14
>"If you're so hung up about all of this, why didn't you confess to the cops? Afraid of the prison time?" Lucy continued.
>Colby frowned, dropping his hands to his sides. It seemed that he was too drained to keep crying, at least. "In prison, I wouldn't be able to make up for it, I guess..." He let out a low sigh. "Besides, he's not the first life I've ever taken..."
>"What. Who this time?" Lucy prodded.
>He frowned. "He's the only one that was innocent... I already said I've taken a lot of lives... Most of them were worthless gangbangers who were more interested in drugs and fighting than being good people... A few were criminals I stopped in the act... One was in self-defense. No one I regret... Except him."
>"Colby.... Just because they're criminals and dead-beats doesn't mean it's right to off them. Like holy hell, sheesh. They're still people you know," Lucy spoke in a quiet tone.
>He shook his head. "I don't think you quite understand. It's not like I set out to kill them... Well, except the gangbangers. They deserved it... I'd explain why, but honestly, it's not worth trying to put their sins into a list. These are people who just didn't care about the system and would go into prison, come back, and commit even worse crimes. They wore prison-time like a badge of honor... The criminals I'd caught... I only intended to stop them, leave 'em for the cops, you know? But then they shot at me, and, well.. There was no way of really subduing them
Charles Gonzalez
"I mean yeah but... yeah. That's still pretty bad though. I guess sometimes the law doesn't cover everything that it should but that doesn't mean you can just take it into your own hands and do as you please. I don't know Colby, but not feeling the tiniest bit of guilt over any of those other deaths, that's practically sociopathic," Lucy says, tugging on her jacket.
>Colby frowned a little, his eyes cast downwards now. "I don't regret taking down people in a me-or-them situation... And that gang... They hurt people. I stopped them from being able to hurt as many people. The cops were useless. What do you want me to do? Stand back and let them hurt others? Hand them over to the cops so that they can "get out on a technicality" and go right back to it? And that time, with a grudge against me? There was no good answer, Lucy. Sometimes, it's about doing what it takes, not just about stopping the immediate problem... The law isn't perfect... But I get it..." He spread his wings, flapping them a couple of times. "I'm on my own again. Like always. Guess I'll see you around, Lucy. Or not." With that, he took off into the sky again.
>As Colby flew, he formed a fist, looking down at it briefly before shaking his head. "Alone. Again. Not even Lucy would respect you... After everything I've done, everything I've tried to do to make my world a better place... I thought she'd understand. If the system can't hold them, and they're hurting people... I don't regret making sure they couldn't hurt people anymore. I shouldn't have to. What's the big deal? It's not like beating them up would scare them into submission... They'd just go get more of their gang members and come back and kill me, instead... So why is me removing them from the situation, permanently, such a bad thing?!"
And that was the last the group heard of Colby, thanks to some ooc drama that occured just as this finished, thanks to Colby being okay with killing people .
Adrian Young
If it wasn't clear the GM was seriously defending his character's backstory, trying to him as some type of good guy, despite being a literal murderer.
Dominic Parker
Some quotes from the GM
>Colby much rather prefers the other option; he doesn't like to kill. But, uh... It was a matter of "me or them" for some of them, and others, it was "This literally doesn't go well any way you look at it, I'm choosing the option that causes the least harm"
>He attempted to subdue the criminals, and found it impossible. >Especially due to them having guns >He just doesn't regret the choice he made.
>I mean, there's a difference between "I wish it could have gone differently" and regret. >In the end, he believes he made the right call. >Hence, no regret.
David Fisher
>I'm not saying that Colby's a bad character, it's just that, well, judging by his deeds he's less redeemable than any of the dark children baka >I disagree, personally.
The game has a set of dark kids who haven't done anything evil at all.
>I very much see him as a light-side character; he's just got a few points in the dark side. He only killed people because there was no conceivable way to stop them from causing others harm besides that. >Or in self-defense.
>Yeah, I would agree with the 'no other option' part. But it's the whole no guilt part that's a bit worrying about him >He said "no regret" >Same difference? >Again, he came to the decision that it was the only way. He doesn't regret making that choice. He does wish there'd been another way. But there wasn't. No sense in wracking himself with guilt.
>"Regret" is where you wish you'd made a different choice. >"Guilt" is where you feel responsible for something. >Big difference. >He does not wish he'd made a different choice. He wishes there was a different choice to make.
Dylan Roberts
(From a shitter who spanked another player as punishment and the GM defended, despite it being weird as fuck, to the point of actually banning talking about it)
>Well the ends justify the means isn't the way I see colby honestly, I see him more as a guy who lacked choices. He does the best he can with the provided paths, but when you hurt someone who should not have been involved it just shatters you. Its a pain that can't go away when you realize you messed up due to a lack of information or insight.
>He chose to be out on the streets cause he saw a movie with that kind of character as the protagonist, and wanted to be just like him. >And then he saw the shit that was happening... >He made that choice at an impressionable age. >So he's the kind of kid turned violent by violent media like those anti video game legislators talk about? >I get that it makes him seem kind of like an asshole, but in all honesty, it was a "Oh, I really like this guy!" One stupid decision later "Oh goddamnit..."
>I can't think of any good movies to reference here... But Colby basically saw a protagonist who was a badass street fighter, and was like "I wanna be like him!" and got into street fighting. >Dream achieved, he started getting stronger, ran into this gang who did awful things to people... >And he wanted to make it stop >It's actually the same reason he didn't want Wes to go to prison. "Folks go to prison, they come out worse"
Luis Long
>It still doesn't quite justify turning to vigilantism; I get idolizing people and wanting to emulate those who you adore, but it's another thing to lack the common sense to go against an entire gang and even bring a knife with the intent to take someone or hurt someone. >However, that's just my take on it; if he was a normal kid, maybe he would have considered the principle of calling the police when getting too in over his head, but I suppose you could say that was the flaw in his backstory >However, to kill someone-- was there any reprecussions he suffered, aside from the psychological damage?
>He believed that the police were useless, due to the fact that their attempts to curb the gang were not really doing anything
>Honestly the biggest flaw in Colby's backstory, is that it is extremely unlikely that he'd have been able to catch more than one or two of them alone. And given his distaste for less than honorable tactics, he wouldnt have resorted to stealth to take one down first.
>This is over a period of years, and I never said how many he got. >Admittedly, 2 years. >But still.
Jaxson Foster
>Gang members die all the time. Not every one of them gets closely investigated. >It was only 9 months since the kid died. Colby's 17 >He started his vigilante-ism at 14
Literal 14 year old power fantasy.
Ultimately a lot of people ripped into his backstory for being stupid, and when the GM just couldn't take it anymore he rage quit and wrote off the character. He never really tried to fix or understand the problem though.
>I'm done defending him. It's that simple. No point in workshopping him. Because I happen to like his backstory. And his backstory apparently makes him a sociopath and an asshole.
Anyways, I'll probably drop it here since I didn't get much attention.
Owen Wright
Holy fuck OP.
I've seen some horrendous shit when it comes to rping Digimon, but this is really fuckin' up there.
Love the series to death, but god can it attract some fuckin' weird people.
Mason Diaz
Yeah, he's a real piece of work. Like this is just one instance.
Dude always gets in arguments that just keep going into minute points forever and ever that don't even matter.
Serious autist.
Jose Howard
>gang members die all the time but don't get investigated
Does he think that just because the police aren't paying attention that he's home free and that the gang leaders aren't going to hunt him down and murder him right back or something?
Nicholas Brown
Evidently that's how it works for his universe.
The fuck is a gang leader doing letting a 17 year old get away after disrespecting him anyways
Thomas Torres
holy fuck I just read up and he was 14 when he started murdering people.
This is some Gaia-tier bullshit for certain.
Anthony Miller
>>I'm done defending him. It's that simple. No point in workshopping him. Because I happen to like his backstory. And his backstory apparently makes him a sociopath and an asshole. Ha ha holy shit. I can practically hear his voice.

no words, I pray this person doesn't breed

>>I can't think of any good movies to reference here... But Colby basically saw a protagonist who was a badass street fighter, and was like "I wanna be like him!" and got into street fighting.

>I could just play my old Mary Sue from when I was a kid >It was a character I tooled for Adventure >It was basically me (Complete with my real first name) >But with different parents. >And better skills. >And... Well, I'm not that kind of person anymore, but still.
Nolan Hall
>It's simple logic, honestly; if I'm not having fun, then there's no point in continuing to play the game. And I'm not having fun while defending my character. >I've spent too many years learning to control my anger issues to let something like that get to me.
Charles Ward
>And I'm not having fun while everyone's trying to pick apart my character. If I'm not having fun, I don't need to be playing. So I will go back to being a GM only. >It's really just that simple. It's not emotion-based. It's logic.
Angel Watson
If he gets that pissy when people don't like his DMPC, I'd hate to see what he's like when he's running the game.
Michael Gray
He denied one of the dark kids a dark evolution because he was trying to game the system.
Said kids head a pretty interesting premise (he was a kid living his whole life at death door in a hospital but got pulled into the digital world, effectively being able to live a second (proper) life. The only thing is he got paired with a Lucemon) it's sad he bullied him like that and made him quit the game.
Kayden Wood
He also bullies this other guys character for being a more generic good guy who general disagrees with him on shit (it doesn't take much)
Like he calls him an asshole whenever he gets a chance, even though he fills the shounen hero archetype so much better than Colby.
Austin Torres
He was nice to this guy everyone got on top of because he basically sexually harassed another character and it wasn't well justified at all.
Rather than maturely addressing the issue and saying what is or isn't okay, he just straight up banned talking about the topic to save face.
Also when the natural conclusion of the characters being pissed at the guy happens, he hands him a dark evolution, which promptly jobs, then gives him a second one so he could kill the previously mentioned character.
Let me get the quotes because this shit was stupid.
Anyways the german retard's character ooc said this since the girl was a bit of a brat ingame
>Either that or I will bend her over my knee and give her the spanking she seriously needs
Later in the game he rolls to take her digivice and succeeds, then evolves and overpowers her in rolls to pull this shit.
>" Really your going to lash out like a child, vell zen I vill treat you like one. " Vahn said as grabbed the smaller girl by the back, of her neck quickly kneeling down and placing her over his knee.
>" Bad little children get spanked in Germany, und in ze absence of your parents zis duty falls on me. " He said as he slapped his armored hand against her, run harshly several times doing his best to match his others intensity.
The girl ltierally can't do anything at this point because the game isn't well balanced and everything is just really awkward.
Aaron Wright
an ooc responses
>this is such a weird scene. can you imagine trying to do some paperwork and some people evaporate your door, knock over your coffee, threaten you, and then proceed to spank a child
ic reaction
>" Vat are you talking about zis has nothing to do with anyzing sexual, I am punishing a child like mine parents vould me. " Vahn said with a blush barely hidden from sight by his helmet, as he released Rosalina carefully before walking to the exit of the arena. " If you considered zat in any form Sexual Aedan, zen maybe you should be questioning your own morals. "
>"You bent a teenage girl over your knee while dressed in all black and spanked her. That is some messed up BDSM shit." >He threw up his hands. "What you gonna do next have her call you daddy?"
(This made this character an asshole as mentioned previously)
David Richardson
what the fuck is this game
Mason Howard
After this scene is straight up leaves with the girls digivice when everyone tells him that's not cool, forcing the party to find him and leave the girl literally not able to do anything.
When asked to explain himself out of character this happened
>Vahn took Rosalina's Digivice to stop her from harrassing an innocent digimon, and said he would return it when they left the arena. She started to yell at him, and when Vahn tried to calmly explain for her to wait she continued to throw a fit. After she physically lashed out at Vahn he decided to discipline her, the way his parents would if he had done such a thing and spanked her. After that Vahn was going to walk away and return her digivice as promised when he left, but she continued to attack him while Aedan and her made comments about him being a Sexual deviant, despite Vahn trying to explain it had no sexaul intent at all. Then Vahn had his Torment triggered and fled far away from them, and only just now decided he should return the Digivice that he unintentionally ran off with.(edited)
>Spanking a 15 year old girl is pretty sexually deviant...
>I am her age -_-
>That makes it worse >Well being older would make it even more worse >but well >still pretty bad
Noah Hall
It's fucking awful, but very entertaining
>Meh it was a lesson Rosalina needed she had to learn her actions have consequences
>ngl forcing a redemption arc that way really doesn't make me comfortable >lots of sexist undertones >"Women have to be overpowered, stripped of their, a nd spanked to prove that they're bad people." >like uh what
>-_- Not gonna start a debate on sexism but I would have spanked Wes if he was in the same situation, hence why Vahn felt Wes should have gone to a prison equalivent for taking the fragment he had.
>Just saying how it comes off
>Would you spank a person IRL if you thought they were being annoying?
>Sigh this has nothing to do with irl so don't bring that up ???
Brody Smith
I'm starting to get the feeling that all these morons deserve each other, and that OP is just butthurt because he got kicked out of their circlejerk or something.
Luis Reyes
>It...it was a rhetorical question
>Sigh this has nothing to do with irl so don't bring that up
>Like >Why would you even take it as an accusation >I am not taking it as an accusation even as a rhetorical question IRL has no point in being brought up
>I am not going into this because I know that if I do I would either take it too far or waste my time on a pointless discussion at the end of the day what happened happened and comparing it to any irl standard would be pointless now I have a post to make. Have a nice day/night/morning depending on your time zone.
Still not sure what this one was about

Hey I knew this game was going to be a shitshow from the start, main reason I stuck around.
I wasn't expecting the sexual harassing emo german and literal serial murderer though.
Lincoln Martinez
Anyways when they meet up:
>Vahn sighed as he looked at Rosalina who clearly hadn't calmed down at all. " Look I am sorry for running of vith your Digivice, but I really feel you need to learn how to control yourself better. You tend to take zings vay too far, und maybe I lost my temper as vell but I only had good intentions. "
>Rosalina said nothing until the rage dulled slightly, the tears beginning to frost her face. Right now it would do now good to kick his ass, especially since it will only make me colder... "I don't care you feel, jerk, you made me chase you into the freezing cold! May I please have my digivice back now, so i can shift into something a little warmer??" She stood with her arms crossed, and her legs as close together as possible to contain heat better.
>Made her chase he didn't make her do anything, but now was not the time to get into that. " Fine just here you go. " He said holding out her digivice so that, she could easily grab it ready to dash back to avoid any coming attacks.
>Rosalina grabbed Vahn's arm while she took the digivice, in case he tried to play with her, and jumped back, phasing into ShadowKazemon as she did so. She took a deep breath. "Not as warm as I'd hoped, but much better than I was. You're lucky I'm not lobbing lightning balls at you for that stunt you pulled back there." She walked up to him and spoke lowly to him. "I hope I never see you or your poorly built goth style again, you freak. I don't see how any parent would teach their child spanking another kid is okay." She pointed towards the horizon. "Leave."
>Aedan at this point can stay completely silent and calls from the back. "I have to agree if I ever catch you pulling such Taming of the Shrew bull crap on a lass again I'd probably surgically sew your feet to your ass! Thanks for coming on the rescue mission but re evaluate your priorities man."
(Aedan is the character that's more of a general moral hero)
Mason Myers
and the triggering
>Vahn grabbed his head as he listened to the two of them, make comments abut him and his family despite not really knowing anything at all on the subject. " VAT VOULD YOU EVEN KNOW ABOUT ANYZING, I TRIED TO BE YOUR FRIEND BUT YOUR JUST SOME CRAZY GIRL! I TELL YOU ZAT SOMEONE HAD MONEY FOR YOU, UND YOU ASSUMED YOU VERE DRUGGED BY PEOPLE WHO YOU HAD JUST MET! ZEN LATER YOU THREATEN NOT ONLY SOMEONE ELSE, BUT VEN I TRIED TO CALM YOU DOWN YOU THHREATENED ME! " He screamed in her face as a dark aura eminatted from him, his eyes quickly switching to Aedan.
"AS FOR YOU WHO CARES VAT YOU ZINK, YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW ME YET YOU SAY SUCH HURTFUL ZINGS. VAT DOES ZAT MAKE YOU FEEL BETTER ABOUT YOURSELF, OR DO YOU NEED TO FEEL SUPERIOR TO PEOPLE BECAUSE YOU HAVE YOUR OWN INSECURITIES. I SHOULD HAVE LEFT YOU BOTH TO ROT, AFTER ALL YOU VERE NEVER IN ANY REAL DANGER ANYVAYS. " He screamed as his form suddenly changed becoming more lithe, and the knightly appearance turning into something more akin to a creature from a horror movie. Its armor was adorned with eyes of varying size, all of whick quickly focused onto Rosalina.
Jordan Rogers
He proceeded to get one shot by the fairy girl.
Other quotes:
>Vahn listened to Rubi as much as he could, but all he could hear were the whispers of lies, pain, and hate. He shook his head violently as he stared at Ruby before, quickly looking back at Rosalina with a beastial growl. " Friends you say vat friends do I have here none, of you really care your just lieing to me so I von't hurt zem. " He said as he started to slowly walk forward a blade extending, from the remaining skull his eyes full of rage. " If you vere mine friend you vould have defended me, supported me instead of just letting zem say und do vat zey did. "
After getting a second bullshit evolution.
>Vahn released a high pitch screech his massive wings, expanding to their full wing span shroading everyone around him in darkness. " I vant all of you to leave me alone! Dark Obliteration! " He roared before flapping his massive wings, releasing a large torrent of darkness energy that flooded over the group blowing away snow as well. " Your just liars you only vant me to stop, so zat you can hurt me again vell I am not giving you ze chance. " He said before releasing another wave of energy, before anyone had a chance to recover from the first.
Charles Davis
interesting story, but god fucking damm, what a weird dude, and he's an adult?
Hunter Brown
He's claimed that he's married, and I'm sure it's bullshit because I can't imagine how anyone would willing latch themselves onto this trainwreck
Gabriel Ward
Now he claims to have multiple girlfriends?
One of the player comes in and says he just broke to and he's some time she he says this:
>That sucks, Gaijin. (Name of the player) If you need someone to talk to, I'm pretty good at advice. >But take your time, dude. >... Speaking of... I really need to find me a local girlfriend
>Really?
>... Sorry. Just... My girlfriends are fairly scattered.
>My problem is that I'm too shy. >I can't meet people.
>I'm not shy once I know a person, but it's crippling when meeting new people >To the point that all I can say is common niceties >And then I walk away, kicking myself
And this like touch
>I'm also poly, which makes things more difficult
He confirmed he was poly after too
Nicholas Baker
Married not poly. (Actually both
All the same this makes me curious about his situation
Samuel James
>>... Speaking of... I really need to find me a local girlfriend >>... Sorry. Just... My girlfriends are fairly scattered. Truly this thread is the gift that keeps on giving. I wish the retards I know were smart/dedicated enough to manifest their autism like this.
Carter Brown
Not gonna lie, I would watch the shit out of Digimon if it centered on raging autists like these bumbling around the digital world autistically screeching and spanking each other.
William Moore
LMFAO OP I WAS IN THAT GROUP UNTIL RECENTLY! Didn't ever make a character but I was there, I saw some shit. Can confirm this shit went down. Did we bring up that one kid who always tries playing a samurai for literally no reason?
OP, who are you, my comrade?
Nolan Sanders
I actually don't know about the samurai kid, there are so many fucking samurai weebs.
I know in this game someone actually had their human character permanently killed and the gm forced then to only okay their Digimon which was a musyamon I think. This was before I started watching though.
Nathan Sullivan
I just joined again. And yeah, it's the musyamon kid, every time I try and join a DDA game he shows up and makes a samurai weeb regardless of setting, and it always ends up killing my mood about the game, so I end up quitting. Literally happens every time someone tries to start up a game.
I'm going by RhoBoat on Discord, add me my dude
Asher Ward
Also I'm not playing in this shitshow of a game but I won't say who I am because I'd rather not be banned and have to deal with using an alt to watch.
Angel Collins
Yes Ice seen him in a bunch of games. He was actually inspired by this other game where this dude made a samurai in a western medieval setting who all the players thought was total shit.
I can't be mad at him though since he's literally 12. Unlike the rest of the autist's in these games.
I'll add you once I can get online.
Cooper Collins
> Medieval > Digimon
Sounds retarded senpai
Colton Gomez
They wanted to try something different.
Test the Digimon like monster you have to conduct a ritual to summon and be bonded to under a pact.
It wasn't a bad idea
Matthew Rivera
Well timed update.
So the dude hangs out in the discord for the system too. He has been pushing combat tamers really hard and some of the lesser autist's babe followed his lead.
Today the person who develops the system even went so far as to make a blog posts about the wrong way of using combat tamers, and while she said it targeting anyone, she used Zubamon (and the guy has a huge hardon for Zubamon since it can turn into a sword) as an example of what not to be. While emphasizing how Masaru (the lead from savers who ever combat tamers aspires to be) isn't just a power fantasy wank.
Not OP but wanted shed light on the 12 year old that became perma dead.
So Colby in his infinite wisdom made it so in the game when a character dies they just respawn in the last town they were in. This was because it is meant to be "like an MMO". While it is really just every RP forum with a slightly less pain in the dick way of navigating around Colby loves to jack himself off about his idea.
So with that respawn in mind there was a point in game when the 12 year old was about to be captured by a bunch of bad guys. So rather than be captured he stabs himself in the neck to abuse the respawn system and appear back in the middle of town.
Now of course doing that is stupid too but I'll give the 12 year old a bigger benefit of the doubt then I will the guy who is apparently an adult with his own place and a "wife". So after letting the action go through Colby declares the character perma dead. Why? Well apparently to the gods of this world it is because he committed a mortal sin.
The same gods that let a serial killer be given the power to turn into a fucking fluffy Kamen Rider. The majority of the player base once again thought this was stupid.
Evan Morris
How do I go about joining this Discord?
Eli Cox
Not OP but familiar with the shitshow. There's two discords.
This one is the dev discord if that's what you were asking about: discord.gg/JbDK59r
This one is the game which I imagine is the more interesting: discord.gg/sTgAvZd
Easton Butler
Probably joining both this sounds too hilarious to not get in on.
Luke Allen
Have fun my dude.
Robert Nelson
The flood gates have been opened. This can only end well.
Leo Collins
Oh I think I will, maybe I'll even try to spice things up a bit.
Ryan Cook
Anyone bring up how when asked a lore question the guy went into a high school computer science lecture?
Caleb Butler
No, but that shit was so fucking stupid.
Brayden Sanders
>kinda want to run a Digimon game but fear weirdos like this. So how is this system for running games anyway?
Ryder Carter
Ok as far as point buys go. The creator is tweaking constantly and seems open to input. This game being talked about seems a case of houserules gone rampant.
Oliver Scott
It's fine if you want to focus more on narrative and have good players.
If you want to focus on mechanics it can get pretty weak and confusing in places, but it does its job. It's pretty simple to grasp which is a plus I think.
Joseph Hughes
As someone who is currently in a game that isn't a billowing tire fire, it's been pretty great so far. The customization is really nice and its easy to make a digimon's build both functional and flavorful as long as you aren't a complete retard.
Connor Ward
>underhanded tactics like guerrila warfare The fuck is he, a commander from the Redcoat army? Guerilla warfare is a entire legitimate and extremely effective strategy!
Dominic Martinez
>tfw you have to have a god force your ship because she doesn't want anything to do with you.
Andrew Murphy
So to summarize it. There are some enemies that are like corrupted data caled Aberrations and one of the characters had the power to collect their data after defeating them (see Frontier) and decided the good thing to do is return the data in hopes of being able to restore them to how they were.
Gm decided that despite letting them get some leeway and hinting at it being possible with cryptic wording, it just doesn't work and when the player attempted to make it work, the data just disappeared.
When asked about what happened this happened.
>The data from defeated aberrations doesn't hang around waiting to- I didn't see you do it yet, sorry. >Okay, so aberration data that isn't absorbed instantly gets recycled, just like any other data. But since it's anomalous, it gets basically erased.
>Oh so it is just gone?
>... Yes. (He loves his ellipses even ooc)
>Code Fragments don't allow anomalous data to exist in their zone.
>I mean it can't be restored?
>Huh? >You're not making sense.
>It's not really anomalous... It's been purified, so it should go back to whatever it belongs to. Whether it's a rock, or a tree, or a digimon
>I mean, there was nothing to purify. >You guys are misunderstanding what Aberrations are. >They're fragments, remnants.
>Corrupted files caused by missing data.
>Okay, allow me to get very, very technical.
(Shit's about to get real)
>Data is stored on a hard drive in the form of a magnetic response; if there is one, that bit is a 1. If not, it's a 0. >When you move a file from one location to another, the old location's files aren't deleted (data can't technically be deleted), the pointers are simply re-written.
>What I'm saying is... In frontier, and in this game, the D-tector has been shown to be able to reunite bits and bytes with whatever they belong to. Why would that be any different with these?
>One of the players: We are in a magical other dimension we don't need the condescending computer basics lecture
cont
William Wilson
>Because the objects they belong to are whole. >That's what I'm trying to get you to understand. >The files are completely intact inside the Code Fragment.
>It's when they were removed from the Altar that the split happened; on the one hand, you have still perfectly intact files in the Code Fragment. >On the other, you have the bits of data left over from before the file transfer. >They're not supposed to be there, but they are. >That's why I was getting technical, Broto(The previously mentioned player), so cut your whining.
>They shouldn't be. Because part of them was left behind to make the aberration. Like if you unplug a USB drive from the computer in the middle of a transfer... If you were moving it, then the file is partially on both devices, but without a special program to fix it (the D-tector in this case) It is useless, and reads as corrupted.
>You're misunderstanding the point of the lecture, then...
>Broto: Seriously the tone of talking down to people man. There is a nicer way to say it >Rubi: You're treating me as if I don't understand how computers work. Knock it the fuck off.
(note he completely ignores this and goes further into the 'lecture')
>When you move a file (it is in a new location, and not in the old), all that happens is that the pointers are rewritten, freeing the old space for rewriting. This is how fragmented data occurs. >Aberrations are fragmented data >The files they originally belonged to are still whole, in a different location.
Other GM Steps in >woah hey guys he didnt mean it that way >Then he should try wording it in a way that doesn't sound that way. >I happen to be not great at social stuff, Mute. I'm doing my damnedest to make this make sense without trying to be condescending.
(Note he doesn't even say sorry.)
Jason Campbell
Player: >Ok so as someone with autism just bringing up your issues does not make an apology or acknowledgement of mistake. While it can provide understanding you should still realize how your tone sounded and how it would make others feel. >A quick "I apologize how my tone sounded. May we start this conversation again so I can better explain" works better.
>Noted, Broto. >But right now, I'm really, really close to giving up on trying to explain anything. >Because apparently, I can't even do that right.
(Still doesn't say sorry)
>When you move something, it is written on the new location, and the old location is overwritten with empty space. There is no fragmented data left behind. If there is, then the transfer wasn't complete, and something is missing from the original file. In the case of normal fragmentation, the computer can correct this. But that can only happen when the fragments are stored on the same hard drive. If they are not (which these were not) then it cannot fix them >It is not overwritten with empty space... It's simply treated as empty space for new files to be written to. That's why every computer has a disk defragmentation program... >The only thing it could do, if there were a sufficiently powerful AI that could properly predict what needs to be where, it could re-write the missing data fragments. But, since data in the digital world is an actual physical thing, (and in fact, a currency) you need data to rewrite data >So there would be something missing somewhere, probably an insignificant thing, like a rock or something. >... Rubi. There is nothing missing. >If there's nothing missing there was nothing to become an aberration.
Other player: >Honestly trying to apply actual computer science to Digimon in any hard manner is folly >My solution is "computer magic"
Sebastian Walker
>how to handle "Xrosing" which lo and behold he used to make his human character stronger by equipping them to him. (The gimmick in xros wars is the digimon could fuse together like mechas.) I would actually like this idea, if it was the main gimmick of a whole anime or video game and everyone did it.
Hudson Allen
It was the main gimmick of the Xros Wars anime and a couple of DS RPGs that never got translated.
Joseph Hughes
Notice how this guy is so bad someone with actual autism called him on his shit.
Lincoln Moore
>Aberrations are pieces of files that are left behind after the transfer is complete; the transfer created a whole, undamaged file. >If ALL of the data from the zone is stored on the fragment, then nothing is left behind, and there would be no aberrations.
GM: >... >And I'm leaving now. I'll see you guys in a few hours.
>Again, Digimon are similar, but not identical to how actual computers work. >Data is an actual thing, you can't just create more of it. >Which is what would actually happen, if there was somehow something left behind in the transfer without removing anything from the digimon/zone data.
(he instantly comes back) >The thing is, Mute, technically, even empty space on a hard drive is data. It's just all 0s. >So you're not creating data.
>Which is why I returned to the forest instead of just doing it wherever >The way he described them before, was what I was getting at... Leftover file bits from an improper file transfer.
>No, not an impro- Okay, look. When a file is deleted, the actual case is that the pointer to it is overwritten. That's all. >Then you write new files into that space later. >And when the new files don't fill the space that the old ones did perfectly, you get fragmented data. >Yes, some of that is corrected automatically by the computer. >But a lot of it still happens. >Aberrations are fragmented data. The data they originally were was successfully copied to another location.
>So the trip to the forest was a complete waste of time. (this was a really big backtrack)
>I mean, I told you that you didn't need to. >I just couldn't come out and say "nothing will change if you do"
>No you didn't.
>Yeah, I did.
>You said you forgot I even had that.
>You argued "But I want to do it."
She then posted the conversation, making it very clear that isn't what happened
cont
Camden Reyes
It's not awful, but when you throw it into a campaign with EVERYTHING, it's clearly just trying to power trip. Doesn't help his digimon have no personality and just there to power him up.
Charles Lopez
The log:
Colby - Last Monday at 4:15 PM Kk The map shows 5 buildings, spread over the commercial district, each labelled as a different guild Oh heck, I forgot that Rubi had that Aberration data. Vahn von Schillinger - Last Monday at 4:25 PM Really both me and Rubi have data from Aberrations Rubi - Last Monday at 4:26 PM I haven't thought about it. >.< Meant to do a thing when we were there last time. Colby - Last Monday at 4:27 PM Honestly... I already know how that is gonna go. Rubi - Last Monday at 4:27 PM Hopefully not with angry RAWR monsters. Colby - Last Monday at 4:27 PM Nah, you killed them, they wouldn't come back to life. Rubi - Last Monday at 4:28 PM Good ^.^ cut to Packet a month later Adorable aberration egg hatches and proceeds to eat everyone. Vahn von Schillinger - Last Monday at 4:28 PM lol that would suck Colby - Last Monday at 4:29 PM That also isn't happening. Rubi - Last Monday at 4:30 PM It would be funny though
>Not once did you tell me that nothing would happen. >Because telling you that nothing would happen would be a spoiler >But I know, I distinctly remember saying something to the effect of "that's not necessary"
>Telling me that it wouldn't release more aberrations was a spoiler if that's the case, didn't stop you there >Your memory is faulty. I searched for and jumped to that location in the chat.
>My memory might be faulty, I'll admit that.(edited) >For the record, Rubi, my intention behind discussing computer science wasn't to demean anyone's knowledge, but to establish that everyone was on the same page (because people usually aren't when it comes to computers) >And I'm sorry if it came off as anything else. >I am not used to being in any given group with more than 1 or 2 other people who know literally anything about computers beyond how to use a keyboard and mouse and the internet.
Jaxson Edwards
There's more but going through this autism is burning me out, but basically he just kept going on about basic computer concepts and explaining them terribly but belittling his players for not understanding. It then turns into a discussion about magic and how he's a wiccan and it's totally real.
I might come back to post the logs.
Jacob Watson
DIGIMON, DIGITAL MONSTERS. DIGIMON ARE CHAMPIONS!
Cameron Stewart
Not equipping to humans. You're thinking of Frontier if the spirits were actually characters for more than two episodes.
Carson Evans
Another thing about these Aberration things is apparently they auto die if they leave their area. This means whenever players try to warn an authority figure about the threat they just get told to fuck off basically.
Jace Hill
Well, yeah. That's Xros Wars.
Josiah Cooper
Xrosing is when a bunch of digimon merge together, this sounds more like trying to Monster Hunter or something with a digimon sword.
Wyatt Brown
welp, typical user just blew up our spot
Should we switch to full on bully mode?
Alexander Roberts
Sounds like somthing an autistic child would come up with
Adam Bailey
so I just got kicked from the server, the things I fucking saw before I did though
Isaiah Miller
>tfw everyone who joined in the last 3 hours gets banned >tfw I actually was genuinely interested and going to try and have a good time
C'mon dude, that was a bit much
Tyler Lopez
I was actually going to try as well.
James Perry
Oh boy, what happened?
Samuel Hill
Some user blew our cover and started talking about this thread.
